This is the best bike shop around. They are so helpful, personable and fair to their customers, I had to leave a review. Any time I go to another bike shop, Im reminded why I keep coming back to this one. Friendly service, knowledgeable mechanics. The Bike Shop is an asset to our community!

Great service and very helpful with any questions that I had. I was shown the best options I could get with my size and price range for a comfortable fit. I was given some good education on the mechanics and hardware to safety equipment and tools. Im happy with my experience at The Bike Shop!

Avoid this bike shop if you can, they overcharge you and provide poor service. I went here to get a flat replaced, got charged 10 in labor for that and 14 for a tube. I then forgot that I wanted my back wheel to be switched from fixie to freewheel, something I could have done in 2 minutes just figured it was up on the stand it would be easier. For the extra minute it took the technician he charged me 10 more in labor. Grassroots and bicycle outfitter much better options in terms of price and service.

BOA lace broke on one of my shoes while traveling CO and riding around Grand Junction last summer. I didnt have the tool used to open the BOA dial on me, so I stopped in here to borrow and/or purchase one. Staff was friendly, and the mechanic (Brian) was kind enough to offer to quickly repair the BOA lace for me.

Was travelling from Austin, TX to Colorado to join the Triple Bypass ride. Stopped in Grand Junction to ride through Colorado National Monument (highly recommended!) and both my front and rear derailleur started acting up - I was in total panic since Triple Bypass ride was just a few days away.Stopped by The Bike Shop and Bryan quickly diagnosed the unique problems with each derailleur and quickly fixed them for a more than reasonable price. I was back on the road and much relieved that my bike was in tip top shape for the ride I had been training many months for.Bryan also gave me a quick tutorial on how to prevent the issue from reoccurring. I cant say enough good things about this bike shop!

Ive been a happy customer for twelve years. Always friendly, always helpful, always willing to discuss and tackle a special problem - Ash and Bryan are great. Their service is fast and dependable, often finished the same day, and if they need to keep the bike, they will call as soon as it is ready. When cycling friends ask where they should go, I always say The Bike Shop.

They know what theyre doing, so dont get me wrong there. But the prices are some of the highest Ive seen anywhere, and the service is far from the being the fastest in the valley. Not a place to go if youre a college student looking for a decent deal. But most of all the employees did not seem eager to help when I stopped by. Maybe I just went on a bad day, but its a bike shop! You should look like you enjoy what youre doing!

Ive purchased 3 bikes from their shop and always have had a great experience. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I dont come in as often as maybe some riders do but they remember who I am and ask how I like a bike Ive purchased. That goes a long ways for me. Ive always gotten my bike back the same day or writhing 24 hrs.

This shop is the best in the valley; even if you have a $200 bike they treat the same as if you owned a $2000 bike. This cant be said about the other shops in the valley. I drive there from Palisade even though there is a bike shop here in town due to the great service. Thanks guys

This is probably my back up bike shop and the reason for that is, while most of the employees are great there are those few that assume you dont know anything and proceed to explain things you didnt ask for the explanations of all while taking up your time when you wanted to go in for a simple purchase. Its about a 50/50 experience for me. As someone who has been riding for years and has also worked in a really similar environment, I dont like being hovered over or treated as a novice as again happens about half the time.

I moved to Grand Junction on a travel work assignment, borrowed a mountain bike from a friend for two months to use before deciding to buy one of my own. I bought my new bike in a box online and I came to The Bike Shop for the first time looking for a tool because I was told from a friend I would need to grease my bottom bracket because it was a new bike from a box and probably would need it.I was helped by an employee named Ed who was extremely helpful. He did not bat an eye over the fact I bought a bike from somewhere else besides the shop and he then spent the next 45 minutes going over all sorts of aspects of the bike, taking even more time to explain what the names of parts were when I had no idea what they were called, never made me feel dumb, just answered my questions and provided expert advice and experience. He even took me over to new bikes and others getting worked on to show me what to do and look for. Gave me great advice on future things to consider, as well as what he carries and uses himself for safety, repair and while out with his two dogs. This was great because I always go with my dog and am mainly concerned about him.I ultimately had the shop tune-up my bike after I got it together a couple days later and I noticed a big improvement, cost was even a little less than what he initially quoted me. All the employees I encountered were very friendly and knowledgeable.I would definitely recommend this shop, I am only out here another 3 weeks before going to back to Colorado Springs, hope I can find a shop there with this kind of atmosphere and service.

Same day turn around is pretty common with these guys. I brought a wheel in to get trued and the guy said it might not be done until tomorrow. I said oh bummer I was hoping to ride to work tomorrow. No hard feelings if you cant get it done though. A few hours later I get a call saying its done. Theyre super nice too. Im a fat guy who rides a cheap Trek and they still make eye contact with me when I ask uneducated questions. Cant say as much for some of the other supercoolguybroshops in town.

So i found a bike during the spring clean up, and it was missing the bolt that held the crank onto the bike. At a hardwear store i could have got a bolt for probably $0.30. Anyway i decided ro go to the bike shop of north ave near msu. The professional opinion was that i replace the crank. I did not know if i could afford it. So with no pressure the salesman said ill just throw a bolt on there for ya. I said ok.......but here is the coolest part....i am at the register and i pull out my wallet and my card is gone......now anyone who has done this can immagine what is going on in my mind. The guy sais dont worry about it. Its on me today..... I would reccomend this shop to anyone who reads this hole post. Cant promise anything but if you need help with your bike they will help.

The Bike Shop owners Ash and Brian are the real deal. Ive been dealing with these guys for almost a decade... from the time I bought my first used aluminum Univega...they got me ready for my first rides ever...the RTR and now all the riding I do across the Grand Valley. I bought My first REAL bike Cannondale from the Bike Shop...theyve kept it going for the last five years...Ive even called them from the road when I was having an issue and Brian Walked me through it. They eat, sleep and live biking and they are great family and community guys... If you are a Novice or Pro Cyclist...you are welcomed in the Bike Shop...they held my hand for a LONG time! I owe a lot of my cycling knowledge to Brian and Ash and the whole staff at the shop.Bottom line... you can get cheaper online ...BUT you cannot get personal service... Confidence and knowledge that the guy working on your bike actually knows what the hell hes doing ... and... any tweaking?...they knock it out...cause they know you want to ride, worry free. They arent going anywhere and if they dont have it..ASH will get it! I dont go there everyday...but when I go...I always get great consistent Service...and because these guys bike... and have lots of experience... I know they treat my road bike like theyd treat their own... You cant buy that on-line.Dave AllgoodGrand Junction

I walked into the store green as the day is long... asking about and buying all sorts of accessories to get me started in MTB-ing... even had them shine a headlight in the bathroom for me to check its range, as if that was going to do any good. They (I forgot exactly who helped me, but I think it may have been the owner) showed great patience, and as it turned out, each suggestion and subsequent purchase was spot-on. Nearly 10,000 miles later, an accomplished MTB-er and now road cyclist with numerous KOMs under my belt, I am still using the equipment they sold me. I wish they had a branch in Cuenca, Ecuador! They deserve more than 5 stars.

Prices were about what I would expect, no complaints there. The guy helping me was pretty awful though. Asked for a UN55 bottom bracket and gave me a UN26 (not the end of the world, but still kind of annoying). I was also looking for a bottom bracket tool to remove my lockring. They had one tool available for 45. I chose not to get it because you can get the same thing from amazon for 13. When he asked me about it, I explained this to him and he gave me the most condescending look Ive ever gotten from a cashier. While checking out there were some issues with how the bb was ringing up so his (manager?) told him to try ringing another item to make sure the register was working right. There was an older gentleman behind me who was obviously in a hurry to get out and since it was my day off and I was no in a hurry, I suggested he ring the man up to test the register. The guy just scoffed quietly and grabbed something off the counter to try. The other item rang up normally so we were still trying to figure out what was doing on. The older man behind me put the item he had down and said he would need to come back. After walking out the door, the guy helping me rolls his eyes and makes a comment to me about some people.Maybe its just this one employee, but he absolutely ruined my experience here. Being condescending to myself and then talking poorly about another patron to me? What an absolute joke of service.Perhaps if you are what most people consider a cyclist you will get along fine here, but obviously they have no desire to serve guys who use wal mart bikes to ride for occasional leisure or older folks just buying a cheap pair of gloves.
