I always receive excellent customer service at City Garage!! On this visit, I needed my yearly car inspection. I entered the business and only waited a minute or two before speaking to the very friendly individual behind the plexiglass barrier. Yes! There is a barrier to protect both parties from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I was so appreciative of this attention to public health. My inspection was completed in approximately 20 minutes. I highly recommend this business for their efficiency, professionalism and customer service. Five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

DO NOT COME HERE! I came in for an annual state inspection. My car was driving perfectly fine. It took them over 30 minutes to inspect my car. 🚩 Once it was finished, I was attempting to drive out the parking lot and my car would not accelerate.🚩🚩 I took it right back to them and they inspected it saying that it wasnt anything they had done or could do. 🚩🚩🚩 They told me it was driving fine around Walgreens and once I got back in it, it would barely drive. They intentionally sabotaged my car. I will NEVER go back to them.

I had just gotten to Dallas on my first day of vacation when my transmission went out. AAA recommended City Garage for the repairs. I knew it was going to be expensive, and might take a long time to fix, but it needed to be done. I could not have asked for a better experience! The tow truck dropped my truck here at 5pm on a Friday. They had the diagnostic done by Saturday at noon. I approved the estimate and they got it ordered that day. On Monday my truck was ready by 4pm. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve been driving it for a week now and it’s running great! I can’t thank these guys enough! I would definitely use them again.

I have always had great service and quality work done on all my vehicles here. Not necessarily the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. If I have ever needed to go back, with an issue, they have repaired it free of charge, no hassles. I trust them.

Second time going and they have proven that they are taking advantage of people. My neice had the same experience. They are walking distance, but I refuse to go ever again. Not asking for handout but fair. $1000for partial break job is ridiculous. Got done for $375😊

Decided not to do A/C repair… too expensive but not the fault of repair shop… it’s expensive anywhere for what needs to be repaired.

My son came into this shop for an oil change. They told him his coolant was low and quoted him $115 to fill his coolant tank. When I went to check it I found it was full. They also quoted him $115 to change his power steering fluid. The problem is, there is no power steering fluid in his car. It has electric power steering. The battery, however was extremely corroded and they mentioned nothing about that. Im very disappointed to say the least. They either dont know much about this car or are trying to decieve him to make more money.

I would not take my car to this place. First the charge you a $150 diagnostic fee which in most cases doesn’t go towards the repair like almost every other shop. Took my car in for a check engine light that came on the previous day, reminder I had just took it to autozone to read the codes myself. They start trying to say that the engine is miss firing and 4 spark plugs need to be replaced. No engine misfire showed up on the code scanner and the car was fine it had no systems of a misfire. On top of this your usual $10 spark plugs for this car (I called autozone and got a quote for 4 of them) was $40 total for 4 spark plugs. City Garage tried charging $50 each so total of $200 plus a extra $150 lab to put them on. What a rip off. The autozone scanner would have showed a misfire. Besides that the other job I was quoted on said it would take 2 hours (at $145/hour for labor) for the other job, but they couldn’t finish it until Tuesday or Wednesday the next week. Mind you they barely had any cars there I have seen a lot more busier shops. This place will screw you over if you’re not careful.

The manager, Marcus, was extremely helpful and straightforward. They towed my vehicle quickly (30 minute wait) and sent me an update via a texted link regarding the issues. It was easy to approve repairs with just a click after Marcus answered my questions.Chris, the technician, performed quality work. It’s a wonderful feeling to have a mechanic I can TRUST, who are honest about repairs/maintenance needed, not be up-charged and have work done properly. I will be taking my car back for scheduled maintenance and I’ve already recommended City Garage on Westchester in Grand Prairie to my friends.

This place is excellent but recent customer service experience was surprisingly poor. I am shocked. No smile. Not looking at face when talking. Made me feel wired.

I felt that I was informed about all that needed to be done but was not pushed into anything that I wasn’t ready for. It did take a little longer than I had expected but I wasn’t in a hurry for it, and I think they knew that. I plan on getting the other problems taken care of, as I can afford it, and will take my car back to city garage when that happens. Everyone was pleasant to deal with and seemed to know what they were talking about.

This is a top notch facility I have sent a couple of people to this facility as well. Me and my family uses it for our vehicle repairs. FRom the manager Marcus to the technician Daniel who handled my vehicles. They keep you well informed explain the situation thoroughly as well as take care any needs that you may have pertaining to your vehicles. They really do seem to care, and customer service does exist at this facility. We will continue to use city garage because of these reasons. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I have taken both my old and new car to City Garage in South Grand Prairie. They have done an amazing job and are very reasonably priced. The guys are VERY honest and get your car back to you much quicker and for less than any dealership. I am even more impressed with their honesty. This shop called me to let me know that they work on my car was actually going to cost $100 less than my original quote. Not very many places will do that. I will never take my car anywhere else!

I had an appointment for 10am. My car was not seen until 11am. I chose to leave and make use of my time waiting. I asked the manager “Marcus” to give me a call when my car was finished. I had to call the shop myself at 12:30pm was lied to stating “oh yes, your car just pulled up.” I have a receipt that says the oil change was completed at 11:40am. “Marcus” might be professional with older folks and men. But he’s a punk when it comes to young women that he knows he could never have. Immature to say the least.

If you care about your car please keep far away. They honestly did nothing but charge me $1,600.00 for work they claim to performed but another auto shop verified the work wasnt done.. scammers they just reset your code and charge you more when you bring it back . Stay away.

Marcus, the store manager, is amazing. He is really good to his employees and I feel strongly that when someone takes care of their employees then the employees take good care of the customers. I came in with a leaking tire and even though they were swamped they were able to accommodate me which I was very grateful for because by the time I pulled into the parking lot my tire was almost entirely flat. The work was great, didn’t take as long as I thought it would, and I can tell the guys are all confident in the work they do. Cannot recommended highly enough.

When it was determined that it would be a very expensive repair, he took care of calling around and finding out if it was covered under my warranty and where I could take it, and handled everything to get me set up with the dealership. I cannot recommend this place enough. They helped me with the wheel bearing for my focus on very short notice after I got myself into a jam. You cant ask for better customer service the mechanic was very helpful as well. Unfortunatley I do not remember his name or I would give him a shout out. A very polite young man changed the brake and signal light on my car and did not charge me for it. And we were there less than 15 minutes. This was the South Grand Prairie location.

I went in for State Inspection, and my car was ready before I knew it. They said that it would take about 15 minutes, yet it seemed less than that and my car ready to go.

We had an oil change a wk ago elsewhere & everything has been smooth. No oil drippings on the driveway no nothing. We took our vehicle today and they gave us a crazy price. They had checked the car and they said car is leaking oil and all this b.s. Car hadn’t leaked oil ever before going to city garage & Things that didn’t need to fix are all of a sudden breaking down just after they looked at it! We get home and theres a huge oil spill all over the driveway! HOW?! I heard this place can be shady but this is something else. One of the guys even said he can do all of it for us for $300 after hours. No I don’t recommend this place!

Every time I come they provide great customer services just great and extremely knowledgeable of what they are doing when I came in they informed me exactly what was going on with my truck and gave me the best solution. The guys there were very helpful and polite! My son had to use the restroom and I was hesitant because usually they are kept clean, well this one was sparkling! They had soap, sanitizer, baby wipes!

My wifes car died and I had the vehicle towed here. They charged me a diagnostic fee and replaced the alternator. Then Daniel called the following day to let me know the battery was no good and that they may have to do some more testing, but he was going to See what he could do. The battery was under warranty with Auto Zone so I went and got another batttery for free. Then Daniel was supposed to call me to let me know when the car was ready to pick up but he never did and I had to call half way through the following day. Then when I went to pick up the car they had added an ADDITIONAL UNAPPROVED DIAGNOSTIC FEE for $150! I THINK THEY WERE UPSET THAT I DID NOT BUY A NEW BATTERY WITH THEM. I dont understand why they would charge me an additional fee after they already knew the battery was no good. If they have this much trouble diagnosing a battery maybe they need to hire some new mechanics.UPDATE: I spoke with Marcus the manager and he was able to help me get the issue sorted out and make things right. Great customer service and would definitely recommend.

My daughters car wouldnt start. I had her car towed to City Garage after reading the positive reviews. I most say the reviews was absolutely correct. They were honest and upfront about everything with the car. They even went the extra mile in swapping the battery that we bought last year from auto part store and returned the damage battery with a new battery. Thank you for having my daughters car fixed in a timely manner.

This place does not care about COVID and doesn’t require masks. The employees don’t wear masks either. They could be coughing into your car and infecting you with the virus. If you don’t mind, then the shop is ok. The employees are not nice though

I went for a state inspection. I was nervous about going due to Covid. It only took around 30 minutes to complete it. When my car was returned, the service tech removed plastic covering and a floor mat. That made me realize that the company is serious about take precautions. Also, checkout was fast and professional.

Love them. Ever since my mom took her car back over a year later and they were honest about a part that broke then covered it under warranty for her. Ask about the rewards program with free roadside. They make it hard to no fall in love. Probably why thwy are always lined up like chick fi lay. Somehow they still get you done and back on the road. Love the grand prairie location and staff

The service was great as always. The problem my wife and I are concerned about was the lack of COVID19 guidelines by the staff. We both are in the high risk group especially my wife. She was the only one wearing a face mask. We understand that customers can do whatever they choose but we hoped the staff would be more compassionate towards the clients by wearing face masks when in contact with customers and especially when the staff gets into our cars. The young man behind the counter kept sneezing and not into a tissue and then sanitizing his hands. When in a customers cars, please ask if the customer would prefer if they wear a mask. This pandemic is still growing in numbers and deaths. We have not started a downward curve. My wife reported these instances to me.

Amazing service! I got both my car and my husbands car inspected here and each visit I was in and out within fifteen minutes. The Grand Prairie location is the best! Other locations had 3 to 4 hours wait time but I called Grand Prairie and Marcus told me to come on over and he would take care of me. He was very helpful and gave me some useful information on my vehicles and what to look out for. I will definitely continue to use the City Garage in GP!

This place is terrible. They are greedy and are out to make as much money off of you that they can by over pricing and calling for unnecessary repairs. You will hear “that’s a tough spot to get to” on every repair making it seem so difficult to repair on “that model car” so they can up charge. Also don’t go for inspections here, they will fail you for any tiny thing, in fact I don’t think they pass anyone ever. They fail you so you have to pay them the inspection cost anyways and then come up with some bs, most of the time it’s loose headlight, or tires, then charge you way too much to fix everything to allow you to get the inspection that you’ve already been charged for. I’ve gone twice, first to repair my ac/heater, and they wanted to charge me 2000, saying that it was the only way to fix it, no alternative. I ended up calling another shop asking about alternative fix and they told me how to do it without it costing so much and I called city garage back and they at that point did the fix the alternative way costing $100. That’s a big difference from 2000. Anyone who doesn’t know much don’t go or you will be robbed. Go to some place who cares for you more.

Waited to review til I have been here a few times so...in the last few years I have called on them on two vehicles for minor electrical stuff to tire rotation to major diagnosis on something and a complete brake job. With some more coming to keep my 02 Tacoma running nice. Pros: fair pricing. The staff and management overall does a good job, explaining things and offering options while keeping safety a key and not being too high pressure with stuff. They offer a shuttle service so by default they get a half star just for convenience . Cons: Apparently they get in a rush sometimes and will forget things. bad. Customer service seems to have gone downhill. Gave them 5 stars when previously reviewed but now 3. After several good visits in the last few years and a now a few not very good ones lately, dont think Ill be back. 3 stars. meh.

Great experience! This was my first time using this car shop. I brought in my Jeep and Subaru the same day for vehicle inspections, oil change and headlight replacement. The work was efficient, done quickly with quality service and the price was fair. I have already suggested this location to a coworker and will continue to recommend them. No doubt, next time my vehicle needs service I will come back here!

I received great service at City Garage! The guys greeted me right when I walked in and fully addressed my concern. The manager was very involved with customers and not just sitting in the back managing. It really feels like a neighborhood garage and that they truly want to resolve your issue. I went and got a state inspection done a year ago. It was good for that. I recently went in to request an alignment and was told that it would be a charge of $72 for them to evaluate for an alignment. When I asked what the cost of the alignment would be,they could not give me a solid price.

Friendly workers with honest diagnostics. Each time Ive visited City Garage, the techs have been polite, straight shooters. Theyll get the work done in a decent time at a decent price. Ive literally had them turn down a job I didnt need, that I thought may be necessary for maintenance. They could have taken the job and made the money. But, instead they said I didnt need it. Theyd do the job if I wanted it, but I might as well save my money on that day.Thats how you build long term trust, which makes me want to return down the road should I need a bigger job.

This is a hands down bad to the bone mechanic shop they are completely knowledgeable and totally capable to handle most any mechanic problem with Chelsea, Markus, and Daniel the under writers and matt, and the rest of the mechanics you can be assured that youre vehicle is in the best of hands i have used alot of shops and drove a big truck for 32 yrs this shop is not just about parts changers they have some of the best people and mechanics I have ever had the pleasure dealing with and I will not. take my pickup anywhere else I have found my to.
