So the appointment was great, the Dr was very helpful with answers. I went in to get Contacts again after not having them for a few years due to insurance. Upon leaving I was given a trial pair of contact to use until my scrip came in.The next day while wearing the contacts I had to remove them so that I could work at my computer. I tried them two other days with the same result, I couldnt read my computer screen and had to remove them and use my old glasses. I called and talked to someone and asked if I could get a refund for my contacts and was told that as long as all the contacts were there they would refund the contacts with no issue.I have attempted to return the contact twice now, the first time I was told that they would have to talk to someone to verify and would let me know. When I called back they said they talked to the Dr and he said that I would have problems seeing the computer screen, however they would allow me to return the contacts, when I went to return them the second time I was told that the situation is More Complicated than they thought it would be and cant return the contacts.
I highly recommend this location! The doctor was very friendly and informative. The staff was super friendly as well! I want to especially thank Mayra for assisting me in choosing my frames. She was extremely helpful!As a bonus, I was able to pick up my glasses the following WEEK! :)
First Eye Care, Grand Prairie, is a COVID-19 compliant and a courteous professional service provider. I have been with First Eye for a few years and have received a qualified, knowledgeable, and courteous attention in a clean, well-maintained office environment. The doctor is calm and compassionate in approach to his examinations and discussions of patients issues. The staff members are generous in assisting with the selection of frames and lens-related ad-on. I will recommend First Eye Care to anyone without hesitation.
Dr. Stout and his staff were awesome. Very thorough in the examination and he made sure to educate me on what he saw. I felt very comfortable. They were able to get me through my appointment in a timely manner. Highly recommend his office!
I would rate 0 stars if possible. I have been a patient here for 3 years and today will be the very last time I ever use this place. I have a 1 year warranty on my glasses. It has only been 9 months my warranty ends February and my glasses snapped in half. I called and ask could I get new frames due to the snap because I knew it was irreparable. I was told that I had a warranty so replacing them wouldn’t be a problem. The lady placed me on a brief hold and began to say that they no longer sell my frames and that a repair would be unlikely and that I would have to pay out of pocket for a new pair of glasses instead of compensating me with a pair that cost around the price range that I paid for the original ones. I asked to speak to a manager they put someone on the phone who wasn’t a manager and she repeated exactly what they said. I asked for a manager again and I was told that there isn’t a manager. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO USE ALL YOUR INSURANCE UP, HAVE A WARRANTY ON GLASSES THAT THEY NO LONGER MAKE (WHICH ISN’T YOUR PROBLEM), & STILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET? You’d do better going elsewhere honestly. Horrible staff today just ridiculous!
Best place to take your Family. Dr. Stout was amazing with my son. He was nervous for his 1st appointment ever and he made it a fun experience. My son kept saying how cool all the stuff he showed him and explained to him was. I also had an appointment after my son and he was extremely nice and he even explained stuff to me that I didn’t know and so have been seen eye Doctors sense the 3rd grade. Definitely go see Dr. stout and the team it was a great experience.

UPDATE: They failed to provide the correct eyeglass prescription for my spouse. When we called to explain the error we were told that the prescription we received was the prescription on file. We were told that we would need to pay for another appointment to determine if the prescription provided was inaccurate. Using the prescription provided, we could not purchase eyeglasses because eyeglass stores flagged the prescription as unlikely to be accurate, especially when compared to his previous eyeglass prescription. Admittedly, the time between the appointment and the date we called was several months; however, that doesnt negate the fact that the prescription was very, very different from his previous prescription, enough so that we couldnt use it to purchase new eyeglasses with any confidence. We will not return to First Eye Care of Grand Prairie. My original review was written before we tried to purchase new eyeglasses.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Making an appointment online is easy and the staff calls and texts you several reminders prior to your appointment. The reception staff was courteous and were ready to assist me when I arrived for my appointment. I was ushered to the exam room shortly after I arrived, which was appreciated. The physician, Dr. Stout, was thorough, efficient, and genial. I am secure that the glasses prescription that I received is accurate. I highly recommend Dr. Stout and will continue to use First Eye Care of Grand Prairie for my vision care in the future.
I called to set an appointment and they were able to get me in the next day. Everyone was extremely polite and professional from the moment I walked in the door, and as soon as I filled out my paperwork, I was called to the back. The doctor was extremely nice, informative, and thorough with the exam. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. This was the best eye exam experience I’ve ever had!
What a nice refreshing experience I had going to First Eye Care. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was no waiting for my appointment. Dr. Stout could not have been more helpful in explaining my eye progress. It was nice to have someone so reassuring and knowledgeable on my prognosis.What a breath for fresh air. I have to say Dr. and Staff members are the most Outgoing, and Friendliest people I have met. The personal one to one experience I received here was truly unexpected. I cannot imagine going anywhere else now.
I have been going to this place for awhile, never had a problem until now. I received my glasses and wasnt able to see my computer well, I called them the next day. I was told to give it a couple of days, to adjust. I did, same results. I was asked to come back in, so they could look at my glasses.I did and I was told that the progressive was in the wrong place, they could have it corrected, but at my expense.I didnt understand, why did I have to pay for their/the laps mistake. I went there yesterday 10/28/19 to get my last appt record to take to another facility for correction. I explained again that my glasses were not correct and it wasnt fair that they wanted me to pay for it. It didnt seem to me that they cared at all, I was given the papers that I asked for and I left.I had another eye facility correct the issue. They people there were very surprised that the other facility (First Eye Care) didnt correct the issue, as was I. I was really disappointed and probably wont return back.Unhappy Customer with First Eye Care of Grand Prairie.
I highly recommend this office, both the doctor and staff are so friendly! My kids NEVER complain about coming to get their annual exam, they actually want to come more then once a year.
At first the place was great. The Dr. was great & easy going. However when I went back to order contacts thats when the place made me flustered & angry. The staff never has a direct answer when asked a question. Im guessing most of there staff is new. They give you an assume & a run around dumb answer which makes there customer service bad. I had an issue ordering my contacts (again because of poor communication) then they finally got it right. When I called to ask if my contacts have arrived they said yes. I said to her ok Ill be in later today. I know they close at 6pm I figured I had time. It was a holiday that day she did not inform me they were closing early. Its dumb stuff like that, that Im referring to. I know it may sound like small petty things but its constant situation & it can make people angry. Staff has no good communication & bad customer service. I dont recommend the place. I dont see myself returning.

In 2012 I visited the office for years later an eye checkup. The service was great and I returned 3 years later as I had problems with my left eye. Doctor Nguyen quickly had me see a retina specialist who corrected the problem. Had it not been for the Doctor I might have lost vision in that eye. I am still following up and would definitely recommend First Eye Care.
Love this place very good with kids so helpful the doctors are nice reception also they always have sales and Medicaid glasses are pretty nice. Meaning if you have Medicaid there is a certain section that Medicaid pays for so you dont have to and the selection is pretty good i take both my boys there.
My family and I have been going here for about 3 years and I couldnt have found a better eye dr. She is so patient and good with my kids. Office staff is great also. Always have an answer to any of my questions.

The ladies at the front desk are very rude they dont have good customer service at all. If you call, the lady that answers is very rude she hangs up on you before you can even say thank you. Like really, if you know you were gonna have to speak to people constantly and have an attitude about it why even be there.

They absolutely saved my life I went to see them after I had just seen another dr.when I found out my insurance didnt pay they lied to me so I called around and found this place first eye care made an appointment they took my insurance and diagnosed me with severed case of cataracts when the other places didnt even mention so I went to see a eye surgeon and got my cataracts operated and my eye sight is back thank you first eye care I owe you my life
Who in the world charges $40 dollars for a follow up??????????? Never have I been charged for a follow up in my LIFE.
