Was out biking at Northshore and had an 12 speed, SRAM Eagle bike chain brake around 4:30PM on Saturday. I searched on Google and recognized Mad Duck Cycling from recommendations posted in the Dallas Off-road Biking Association. I believe Mad Dog Cycling has also been a sponsor to many DORBA events, so I was happy to support them. After calling, a knowledgeable associate answered the phone and confirmed inventory. He also told me that if I could be there before 5pm, that they would even put the chain on. I was there at 4:55pm and about 10 minutes later, I was out the door and heading back to the bike trails. I think I spoke to the owner too who seemed like a really nice person. Overall, the service was great, the pricing was reasonable and Ill likely be back.Service: bike repair serviceService date: May 8, 2021Location: Grapevine, Texas. These guys are awesome! I had a tire tread let loose on this first day of the MS-150 and was stranded in Grapevine without a ridable bike or car. Normally, the MS mechanics would be all over this... except Im not one of those roadie types; I was a gravel 40x700 exception in a sea of road bikes.Mad Duck initially offered to ride out to my location with a new tire, but only had a 43 (too big) or 38 (too small) in stock. They went so far as to recommend other shops in town that may have my tire... all without luck or decent customer service. When I called back, 30 min before close on a Saturday, they dug deep and found a take-off of the exact same tire in stock at a big discount.Clint and Austin made the arrangements and soon enough they arrived after close to my camp site to get me back in business. I offered to help Austin for making the drive out, but he wouldnt have it (awesome customer service).I will recommend this shop to anyone on my experience alone; not to mention the Mad Duck team members I race with on the unpavement (all great folks who represent the shop well)Thank you, thank you, thank you

This is your higher end bike shop despite the name. They have the latest road and mountain bikes as well as accessories. They also have a very knowledgeable repair staff. Unfortunately new riders (like myself) can feel a bit overwhelmed. Although it’s up to the employees to put the customer at ease, one employee nearly talked me out of getting anything done before two others stepped up, including an older gentleman, and got me taken care of. They were able to save my measly $100 sale but more importantly, they saved a repeat customer.

Not only did I get my bike back in time before my trip they cleaned it immaculately. I’ve never received such excellent service from any place of business in my life. Wow, these guys ROCK! Im not really a professional bike person. Just avg joe. Had two flat tires on two bikes, also some gear issues on my mountain bike. I called a few bike shops and most were getting slammed and said it would be weeks before they could help me but I did ask for their prices.Called Mad Duck and they told me to just come on down. Went there, they were busy but treated me like I was a serious bicyclist. Looked at everything right away. Fixed both tires for cheaper than the other bike shops wanted, also looked at some gear issues I was having. Then looked at my mountain bike and gave me options on to fix or replace the wheel, both options were still cheaper than just to have the other bike shop even look at it. Great bunch of people! I will be going there for all my bike needs!

This is the best bike shop in all of North Texas. The attention to detail they give your bike is through the roof. Considering I ride my bike a lot, this is important to me because of the amount of detail they take into consideration to make sure I am safe out on the road. Every single time I have walked in with my bike, they drop what they are doing and take a look at it so I can get back on the road.I bought a Focus Cayo that I love. When I purchased the bike, it had to be ordered.......from GERMANY! And Clarence measured me very accurately to make sure that the bike ordered was a perfect fit.I am also very active in the bike rides that originate from the shop and they are best. This is by far the best and safest group of cyclist anywhere! Highly recommend it!

I went there looking for advice and knowledge, I was rapidly overwhelmed by multiple tech guys trying to scrap my project and buy a new bike.I have/had an old bike. It was not until my wife (who grew up next to Clarence got involved) that they were willing to hear me out. This may honestly be a one off experience, it may be frustration level, it may of been that the tech guy was simply trying to be heard over the fans and the mask. Being a customer and being shouted at from the back as I’m talking to one person is unbecoming, even for a small shop. Finally after about 30 minutes they realized I had physically spoken to technical support at various companies was I taken seriously. The entire exchange was frustrating and at the end of it I got a lecture on β€œsafety and they have to feel like that the bike is safe to ride” which they were happy to take my money to try... and a card for the next shipment of bikes.

Ive been going to Mad Duck pretty much since I moved to Texas in 2009. Clarence, Gary and Terry have always been awesome and besides being super nice, they also do a great job supporting the local cycling community. Clarence also coaches riders of all ages and skill levels and in the years I have been riding in Grapevine Ive seen many of the people he coaches become very accomplished racers. Of special note, in my opinion, is the fantastic job he does coaching juniors. Gary is one of the best bike mechanics Ive met in my 20+ years of riding and Terry is always a pleasure to talk with!Mad Duck also promotes one of the most popular Sunday morning rides in the area, the World Famous Coffee Ride. Most times the ride breaks into several groups and accommodates from racers to beginners alike. Also, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during daylight savings time, one of the local cycling groups start their rides from Mad Ducks parking lot and gather there after the rides for some good chatting and recovery drinks.Oh, and at Mad Duck they also sell some very nice bikes and gear as well! :-)

Another gentleman was manning the counter at the time, he confirmed that the tires had arrived, and then he made sure that the service tech did the installation immediately. About 15 minutes later, my mtb was sporting new rubber. I paid my bill and went on my merry way. Overall, my experience with Mad Duck was a positive one and I can definitely see myself going back in the future.Only one negative: The employees need to work on phone communication; incoming and outgoing.
