Great variety, friendly folks, fair prices, and easy parking. I got stuck on choosing the right flashlight for 20 minutes simply because of the many good options. When I had a specific question a clerk was quick to respond. My dream bbq is available here too, so I’ll be back next time I’m flush.

A great selection of tools and supplies, plus full sheets of plywood. Paint? Got it! Locks? Got ‘em! Lights and fans? Color and flow!

They have it all. And it seems Grass Valleys most beautiful women do their hardware purchases there! Always a jaw dropping, lose your focus kinda place, every time I go!!

Depends on the day you go here on whether you get great or poor service. Ive had really good experiences but also really poor experiences at this B&C. For the most part, its a good place to get those things you need quickly. Usually has a very helpful staff. Prices are less expensive than the other home store in town, too.

Probably the least expensive, well stocked and helpful store of its kind in the area. Great staff. Nice sales. Probably not the best place if your buying lumber to build a housing tract but ok if your just building a deck.

Ive shopped at B&C since they opened. Apparently they need a babysitter at the front door. An employee with his mask around his neck. Two customers without masks in the isle I was trying to shop in. I left without buying anything and Im not going back. Taking my business elsewhere. Id give them zero stars if it allowed me to, so to post I had to give them one star to many.

Much to my surprise, our local major hardware store had a good quality generator, big enough to suit the need, in stock and for a price I was willing to pay. That was a tall order in the middle of a fire disaster and the day after what will not be the last power failure in this area. Rarely do I get to buy locally when we have an equipment failure during a crisis. It was nice to stay at home. It was an absolute pleasure doing business at B&C True Value Hardware, as always.

Originally a lumber mill B & C has transitioned to a very popular DIY center. Its my go to hardware store and garden center. Lumber selection is more limited now but still OK for smaller projects. Prices are higher than the big box stores 1/2 hr away but the drive can be worth it for larger quantities.

Each department is properly staffed with employees to help you & your needs. You always hear upper management leading by example as a TEAMinventory for both your personal & business needs. They staff each department with a good numberfriendly & knowledgeable employees.?From years of personally being in the retail business, I find myself evaluating a store by what I see, hear & witness. The standards & conditions inside & outside the building are excellent. S?afety & customer service is where they pride themselves. Ive never heard an employee saying negative words about co workers or upper management. I respect that regardless of your position or your title the work as a TEAM or is a busy store that at times will get backed up at check out just like every other retail store in town.

This store is amazing for its stock of obscure parts in the back. The guys working there are usually pretty knowledgeable, easy to talk to and often very helpful. Great hardware store.

I really liked this store until I went in today and noticed a bunch of people not wearing masks, despite the mandate and public health risk. I alerted a manager who said it was the customers choice. The owner came down and said the same thing. That nobody is policing them, so they decided to allow it. Clearly that isnt how this works. Theyre letting customers increase the risk of other shoppers getting the virus and spreading it in the community. Highly irresponsible.

Almost everyone working there knows exactly where the items that you are looking for. If they dont know, the find out. Each one walked me to the aisle & shelf. They are very nice.

They still haven’t figured out the touchless system yet. I ordered online requesting pick up same day, they said that they were having issues with their online orders and it would be available the next day. I was disappointed, but to my surprise it actually was ready within just a few hours.I drove to B&C but didn’t really have an idea of where to park for curbside. I called and the lady asked that I drive through their bays. I’ve never been to this was pretty confusing. Once I found where the loading zone was, they loaded the car for me!The only issue really was exiting the bays.The guys asked if I had the receipt. I showed them my phone through the window but I guess that wasn’t good enough. After 5 to 10 minutes of going back-and-forth through the window of my car, they realized that the receipt was placed in the bags they loaded in the back.A lot of confusion but I did receive my order same day and without touching anything.I might recommend that the guy that signs the receipts doesn’t “actually” need to sign it, just verify.3.5 stars because I received my order same day and without touching anything, but the process certainly can be improved.

They need to stop letting the people with out masks in the store. None of us likes to wear a mask either, its just courteous to your fellow man/woman. And no im not a democrat. I just dont like some one spitting on me while talking...during this pandemic. Even home depot now has only masked shoppers. No one likes it, but we do it, to show we care. Ive been shopping B&C since 1998. But we will start driving to Auburn Home depot if things dont change. Thanks B&C, I know youll do the right thing. Dont be scared of people getting mad. stick up for thoughtfulness.

Terrible Experience!!!!! Went to get a key made, asked for help. Employee walks up to me & says What do you need? Not how may I help you Or what can I help you with. I showed him what I needed, He replied Cant do it! Worst experience I ever had in this place. The employee was rude & angry! Didnt expect this from An Older person. No Class! No Manners! Done!

Too many mask slackers, staff included. They have a wide selection of stuff including a lumber yard and plant nursery so its an essential business in the area. Prices are average.

Have shopped at Builders for 40 years. Have known the Fowlers for many decades.

We always get helpful service and we like to shop locally. Prices are competitive. We have a new mobile home in Grass Valley and we found the perfect address numbers to put on our home. We have but many things at Ace Hardware since we moved here 3 months ago and we appreciate the senior and Veteran discounts. Thank you for that

Horrible customer service. Came in asking a simple question about replacement parts for a shower tried to find a worker for nearly 20 minutes finally found two drinking coffee talking to eachother not even working, asked for help, he refused to even walk to show us where to go and then belittled us because we didnt know what we needed. Took my money to Hills flat lumber co. Had around 3 employees ask if I needed help within the 5 minutes I was in there. Showed me exactly what I was looking for and was out within 10 minutes. Happy to take my money to hills flat!

Covid and Curbside service is bringing out the worst in this local business. After returning a second time to retrieve an online curbside order that was in but that they couldnt find on my first trip earlier in the day, I drove around back as instructed and waited quite a while before being acknowledged, after which I was told to pull over to the side like I was supposed to know better. Fifteen to twenty minutes later, another employee (the only kind one in the bunch) finally checked on me, and went to find my order, returning a few minutes later, saying that the employee who had originally taken my order number still had three customers ahead of me, twenty minutes later!! Having finally received my small-sized order, I held it out to the employee at the check-out gate, who made an unsmiling comment about the size of my order, to wit I said I would prefer not to use curbside assistance, but was instructed to by my husbands oncologist, after which he waved me through with a clearly exasperated, have a nice day. What a nightmare. I was made to feel like a nuisance. They should be embarrassed of their performance, and ashamed of suggesting that what they offer is anything close to service. It is anything but.

Great service, nice and helpful staff, rarely ever any lines to checkout, and easy parking. However selection can be limited, especially higher end choices/options of fixtures, tools, or other items people normally want to check out in person before buying. Cheaper stuff is generally bought online.Shop here and support the local community. I do, as much as possible.

I always liked B&C BUT they lack in customer service and now with Covid19 I cant shop there. They have no safety precautions in place and they dont wear masks. So much for supporting my community.

Its difficult to imagine any hardware or related item cant be found in this store. It might be a little daunting for some were it not for the easily found highly knowledgeable friendly staff. As well as hardware and building materials, they also have a large and comprehensive garden centre. If theres any negatives they close relatively early and there are cheaper places to buy some of the products

Its a very big Ace hardware store or maybe I am just used to the smaller ones in AZ. The people were nice and I didnt feel abandoned and alone as happens frequently in the warehouse type similar businesses. The prices werent great but werent too bad. The selection is great. Overall a good hardware shopping experience.

Always has what I need. Friendly staff willing to help. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Plenty of parking. Love the garden area.

I was searching for an old part for an old kichen lamp...I had difficulty even trying to describe the piece. Rick was so patient, good-humored and helpful, we finally found something which will work..in a junk drawer, no less! Mark went above and beyond to help me find a wood stain...dinky little purchase, but these guys could not have treated me any better if Id spent a million bucks! My business is 100% theirs no matter what I need from now on. We can order it if not on stock. Refreshing. Fantastic. Everyone I came into contact with was exceptionally courteous and friendly. Makes you proud to live in Grass Valley.

B&C has a welcoming feeling about it and I am a regular patron. Ive often faced home improvement conundrums and theyve been there for me to offer help, advice, and share know how. I always take my relatives from out of town here and they remark what a friendly place B&C is to shop. You can source many products here for both home improvement, maintenance, and the nursery and garden department has fair prices. I like being able to drive right in and load what I need. Someone is always there to write me a ticket and help load lumber or sacks of concrete. Ive had keys made here too, and they always work. Essentially, once you learn the layout of this store it is faster and more efficient than driving somewhere else to save a buck or two. Part of the allure in shopping here for me is because this is not a giant-box home store, there are more staff to help and you can get in and out of here fast and get back to your honey do list.

Awesome customer service. Went to Hills Flat prior to going to B & C. Couldnt find assistance at Hills Flat, and when we finally found someone, we were told the item we were looking for didnt exist. Told him I found it on the Home Depot website, as well as other sites, and was told to go purchase it online. In one last attempt, went to B & C, and they have ordered the item for us. So great to be able to keep purchase local, especially for an item that does not exist.

Went in for a new chain for chainsaw. They put it on and adjusted and cleaned the chainsaw no charge! Talk about going above and beyond!!
