Our friends recommended us the Marie Blachere location in Manhattan and we visited the Great Neck location on our way to Garden City. The decor is wide-spaced and cozy with a lot of indoor & outdoor seating. The environment and ambiance is perfect as a place for breakfast or afternoon tea.Their pastry & bread options were various and we had 4 different pastries: Almond Croissant, Sugar Brioche, Blueberry Scone & Cinnamon roll. The pastries were overall not memorable and the price was kind of high with its portion in our opinions. Our favorite was the Sugar Brioche, which is soft & puffy but the delicacy of its texture wasn’t comparable with our other go-to bakeries.

I visited this bakery for the first time today and had a positive visit—excellent customer service from the staff.I had a cherry yogurt turnover and a tart of some sort. I forgot the name. Both were very good with the right amount of sweetness. The apple tart was slightly caramelized at the bottom.I also had leek and Parmesan puff along with a tomato and olive, spinach, and feta puff. I waited until I got home because I knew they would taste better warmed up. I bit into the puff cold and knew right away I should wait.I am not sure if I could have it warmed up at the store, but I’m pretty sure I could. It would be nice if staff suggested that option.Overall, I had a great experience; all and items consumed were tasty and enjoyable. This location also offers catering services and a daily happy hour menu from 4 pm -6 pm.Rooftop seating available!!!

Place was nice, food was delicious. We were a party of 3 purchasing separately, but only one of us was asked if we would like our order warmed up, my friend got a warm spinach puff while I was not offered that option. The Asian employee serving me did not offer. The young lady behind the counter tending to my friend DID ask. Warm is better, so make sure to ask them if they dont offer. Cute paper bags, nice decor. We bought quite a few things so I wont list them all, but all tasted very good.

We had MB Great Neck cater our son and DILs wedding brunch at our home. We were beyond pleased with the food...! Delicious, beautifully presented and easy to serve (and Covid safe too). We would wholeheartedly recommend MB for any event you have coming up. And in fact we are looking for an excuse to have another one--this time maybe just for us! Thank you MB Great Neck for excellent service and wonderful food!

Did not know Marie Blachere opened this store in Long Island, pretty clean and spacious. All the croissants, turnovers, danishes are calling my names and asked me to take them all home. The fruit tarts is unbelievable delicious, especially the crust and worth to go back too. Forgot to mention, they run a special on the whole tart, about 10 inches tart for $10... where else could you go and get a full size fresh fruit tart with $10 in Great Neck?!

I had such a bad experience! They open at 7am and I came there at 7:30am and half of their pastries/bake goods were not yet ready! I work in the same environment so i know that when you open you should have everything ready for the customers. I decided to just buy large hot chocolate and it was awful! It taste nothing like a hot chocolate. You cant even taste the chocolate itself, only milk! And took freaking almost 15 mins for that when they werent busy. I was so excited to come to this place knowing they serve a lot baked goods. Such a dissapoinment!

Welcome to Great Neck! Been wanting a good bakery for years!!Baguettes are usually fresh at 8 am. Most of the other pastries and bread is already out by 6 am. If they publish a schedule of when they bread is hot out of the oven I would love this.I like how they do half baked options because you can buy them and freeze then bake it later in the morning to have something amazingly fresh in the morning. (Baguettes to make from scratch takes like a whole day!)They also have a 50% off bin for old bread, which is good for cooking (meatballs, banana bread, etc)

I heard the rumors and heard to sr for myself.... yes, they are true!!!OMG....I made my first visit yesterday ro check out Marie Blachere and as soon add I stepped through the all glass front door, my senses were wowed by the smell of baking breads and looking st all the tasty treats. And best of yet, I think that their prices are amazing as well! After walking around and taking it all in, I decided to try their pizza, which was delicious, even though I expected the crust to have more of that crunch texture.... not enough to take away a star however. What I really wanted to dig into were the breads that just looked out of this world amazing with a crusty top that you can just die for. The Croissants looked amazing as well. Many of the items are buy 3 get 1 free. The tarts looked amazing as well and their sandwiches are tremendous and a great deal at $7.Now my problem is... how many troops will it take for me to try everything!!!@ Yum Yum!

Great food, lazy, rude and incompetent service .8:05 Monday morning. Empty store . Empty sandwich counter . I asked the counter boy to fix me a quick salmon/croissant sandwich . He said I had to wait one hour . A manager, rude French lady refused to prepare a sandwich. she said that she was too busy to help me.I have been buying there, three- four times a week, since the place opened. Thanks to todays great customer experience, and a complete lack of management skills, there will be no customary 15% tip added to the bill. :((((

The food is very average. The pastries look beautiful but our server manhandled and mangled them when putting it into the bag without a second thought. Came with my husband and 3 kids excited to try the place and was surprised at how disgusting the bathrooms were. It Looked like it hasn’t been clean in weeks. A total turn off!!! If I could post pictures I would but too disgusting to post. The space was pretty and the staff was nice. Needs more variety. 2 prepackaged sandwiches???? A 10oz water bottle or a can of soda $2.50??? juice $5.00 seriously!!It claims to be a sandwicherie with no sandwich. More creativity needed as far a food. Bread very delicious and cookies hard as rock. The coffee is not tasty and the pictures shown above are very deceiving. Not what I saw at the place. Wonder if it’s from somewhere else. I walked In today and the girl at the cash register who also handles the food had no mask on. I called the .6th precinct and the officer said he would send someone to speak to them. I left the store in a hurry and called and spoke to a manager who maintained the girl was changing her mask. But then how could she be handling food and taking money. Lame excuse I am a retired Great Neck teacher and 47 year resident of this community. This was a blatant Threat to mine and other patrons health. I love this place! Great foods, pastries, and breads! One thing i find weird is that there’s no cheesecake! I placed an order on line for pick up so that I would not have to wait indoors during a time when many like myself are still concerned about COVID. I received a call saying Linzers are out of stock so I asked the girl to double the beignets I ordered in place of the linzer. Upon picking up my order, I was charged for linzers on the receipt so I called the bakery to try to rectify this. The phone rings and rings without anyone picking up so I went inside the store where I explained to an employee what had happened. She spoke to the girl who handled my order and then told me I have to wait on line for everyone before me to be served before I could get refunded. I could not believe she told me that! Basic customer service!! If you make a mistake, you apologize and fix it right away. When its finally my turn, after she served 6 other customers in front of me, Isabelle, the cashier continues to disagree that she did anything wrong. No apology. I leave the bakery flustered but checked my refund receipt. Guess what??! Isabelle refunded me the wrong item on my receipt!! Complete incompetence. Managers, please train your employees about customer service! And if you find that your inventory is not matching up to your sales, you know exactly why.

In the interest of good spirited constructive criticism I offer these comments: 1) Get rid of the pastry, sandwich, salad counter and put more badly needed tables there. 2) Sell all food from the main counter and keep it stocked. The sandwich counter was out of all varieties the two time we went there and that separate counter wasnt staffed well. 3) Remove pizza from the menu as NY has too many better offerings in that area. With that I think youll do great and I wish you luck!

They are not organized and a bit rude When asked for coffee larger then the small cup my friend had bought I was still given a small cup. The ordering process was a bit chaotic. A few mistakes were made. And the $7+ avocado /salmon wrap was mediocre. I agree with another reviewer. More tables on the first floor would be nice. I would visit more often if the staff was nicer.
