I had heard nothing but good things about UNI so when it came time to hire a company for my remodel, I made sure to contact them. I was impressed with them from the first day I walked in. Carol did the design and was incredibly patient with all the changes we wanted to make and it turned out beautifully. Isaac coordinated the entire project and made sure that everything moved along well and quickly took care of any issues that came up and was very communicative. Matt was the contractor and I couldnt have asked for a better one. He was incredibly detail oriented, thorough and very respectful of our space. He and his team cleaned up every day and made sure to give us a useable space when they werent here working. Thanks so much for giving us our DREAM kitchen!
WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE REBUILD OF OUR DECK. IT IS STUNNING. Mark pays attention to details! Highly recommended!
Initially we had a great experience, but later realized that it was clear that once the contract was signed we were no longer a priority to them. I had to contact them multiple times to come back and fix both a piece of siding and a window. To this day, the window still rattles. After the third time they came out to fix the rattling window, and I lost my patience with the matter, the workers from UNI laughed in my face and still didnt fix it. It was very hard to find the owners contact information, but once I did he asked to come out to the house to discuss what had happened and see about actually fixing the window and siding. He made it clear that he wasnt too concerned about the way his employees laughed when I got upset, but was able to somewhat fix the window. Unfortunately, I still hear the scratching noise from their window install when the wind blows. He told me anything else I heard was just the dingle of the dangle and there was nothing he could do. He suggested that my fiance go out on the roof and see if he could figure it out, which was interesting considering we paid them to install it. I was extra disappointed considering this window wasnt even damaged in the hail storm and we only replaced it to make sure it totally matched the window in the neighboring room. He did also personally fix the siding piece that his team still hadnt properly fixed. Seems like a well-intentioned owner, but his team is sloppy and doesnt seem to care, which has to be a lot of extra work for him to chase after... so I guess at some point, he just tells customers thats as good as it gets. We wont be using them again and dont recommend them.
I was scheduling two different contractors, one for paint and one for exterior remodeling. UNI worked with me and the other contractor to schedule the work to be done to provide minimal downtime of our outdoor areas. Job was completed efficiently and satisfactorily. The work was masterfully done and we would highly recommend.
Great experience. Josh was awesome as well as Trisha. Great communications and people. Value for the price!
Everyone was friendly and easy to work with. They did a great job.
Robin came out the same day. Absolutely professional. Provided information for me on what issues the house had with regards to siding and hail issues. Took photos, measured and is going to provide me with a quote at the end of the day. Very happy with the professionalism and timeliness.
Absolutely terrible experience. The start of the transaction began terrible. The designer seemed to have zero knowledge of what she was doing. The cabinets came completely wrong, and were missing 1/4 of the actual cabinets. She sold us stuff that didnt exist then tried to make it seem as if it was our fault. After several attempts of reordering products and failing, the owner finally decided their company would do the install for free. Wish we never agreed to that. The workmanship of their employees is terrible, as if it was each of their first time doing a kitchen remodel. Had another contractor originally doing the install and he was able to prep everything I.E electrical, plumbing, floors, molding, all that in a matter of 4 days. The cabinets where supposed to be delivered on Nov 5-6 2019 and they were delivered Nov 18th 2019. Which pushed the job past what our contractor was able to schedule, hence the owner of UNI had to finish. When UNI staff started their install they undid work my contractor did because they were following flow plans that where off in measurements. Measurements that I told the designer were off and she said shed take care of it (she did NOT). So when the installers followed incorrect plans it set the completion back multiple times. Lastly UNI was hired to install a hood vent from our ceiling and as Im sure they didnt make the profit they were hoping on the kitchen after all their mistakes, so I guess they decided to re-consider the completion of what they started. In a way it is good because their workmanship is terrible it is definitely better that way. Ive had family that used them in the past 2008ish and they were great. Since then the company has changed, I would greatly recommend staying clear of this company. Avoid head ache, I promise it isnt worth the frustrating days and nights of dealing with people that have no clue. STAY CLEAR
I have used UNI for a variety of projects, from basement renovation to ceiling installation, tricky deck work and others. I have always been extremely satisfied with the communication, the quality of the work and the price. Isaac has been the person who coordinated all the work they have done for me, and I highly recommend calling him for any home repairs or renovations.
We are so happy with UNI that we will use them for our next two large projects. The business is staffed with talented people ... the owner, designer, carpenter, ceiling specialist, painters, wall experts, electricians ... are all trustworthy, pleasant, and easy to communicate with. They use high quality materials that make the decision process easier. When remodeling our kitchen and lower floor UNI worked like a well-oiled engine, in other words the right hand knew what the left hand was doing. Carol Shepard was instrumental in designing what we think is the best kitchen in the world!
We had both a full basement remodel and master bath remodel completed by UNI. The owner, Mark, was very easy to work with and responsive to any concerns we had. He is stand up guy and has much integrity. Also worth noting, their tile guy (AJ) and project manager (Isaac) were great to work with.
I hired UNI Design a few years ago to remodel a bathroom, and do some other remodeling odds and ends around the house. They did such a good job that I have used no one but them ever since, and I know I will probably use them exclusively in the future a well. They were always prompt, the customer service was excellent, the quality of the workmanship was amazing, they were transparent about costs, they had a great selection of materials to choose from that you cant find at normal stores and that are also better quality than the normal stores, their workers were always professional, they came when they said they were going to and worked diligently while they were here, and I just cant say enough about my experience with UNI as a whole. Overall, it was 10/10 would definitely do again. Even years later, I have no problems with anything they worked on, and it all still looks great. Thank you! :)
Robin and his team were very prompt in starting and finishing repairing the hail damage on the siding of my home. They completed the project quicker than expected and better than expected. I can’t even tell where the old siding ends and the new siding begins.Robin was also very understanding when it came to fighting with my insurance company.HIGLY recommended!Ps... their dog is adorable
We had our bathroom redone by UNI Design and are more than happy with the quality of workmanship and the company as a whole. Everything was done beautifully and the installer was clean, polite, and meticulous with his work. We would recommend them to anyone! Also had windows and doors installed with them and were very pleased.
The interior designer, Trisha McKinney, is great to work with. Her design ideas and conceptual drawing were spot-on and exactly what we were looking for. We did not have any problems with the demo crew; our problems started with the finish crew. Since we live in the mountains west of Fort Collins, we were asked if the workers could stay in our home since we would be away for part of this time. Big mistake! They left the house a mess with dirty dishes, empty soft drink and beer cans, over-spray from the wall texture, drywall mud dust...I could go on. They did not bother to use drop cloths when spraying or sanding, which created a huge mess for us when we got back. Since the completion of the kitchen/dining room remodel, UNI Design has had to come back at our behest no fewer than 12 times to fix things that should have been taken care of the first time.It has gotten to the point that the owner, Mark, will not return my texts or phone calls.Bottom line, while we are somewhat satisfied with the final product, in hindsight, I would not have allowed the workers to stay in our home. I would not hire them again for any project, not would I recommend them to anyone. This being mrs. Wagner in response to the owners response. Anyone looking to hire this company should go to any courthouse and do a name search on the business. And see how many times theyve been in and out of civil court. Sadly I am retired from the courts and they had been in our courtroom on several occasions. Sadly I failed to remember the toll after the fact.Dec 2018Still finding fault. Ceiling trim not fully nailed up. Seriously folks for the rest of my life I will probably keep finding errors with the work these folks did. To save yourself the stress down higher this company. Just is not worth your worth or your time.2020 and still finding this unacceptable. Under dishwasher they used deck screws to put down our wood floor. Didnt cleanup after themselves either, lots of saw dust sitting there since 2018. Oh and how we came about this, working on dishwasher. Also it originally plugged in the wall, well they hard wired it. No outlet.
We attempted to contract with UNI for our siding replacement after the July 2018 hail storm. After multiple attempts to schedule our siding replacement (3 months of us calling and emailing with no response), we ended up using a different company. Now, 4 months later we received a call to follow up on our bid. The person who called us was not professional and made excuses for why he was just now reaching out and why he did not respond to our emails in the preceding 4 months.Edited to Add: The owner Mark visited my husband and apologized. He is a stand up guy - it is unfortunate we had the experience with the contractor that we did.
Looking at the other reviews it appears we may have dodged a bullet. Called UNI Design to get a quote to replace our stair rail and install a new front door as theyre listed as certified Pella installers. We spoke to one of the people there who sent us a link to the website of the supplier they use, then heard nothing. Called back and he said hed have someone call to schedule an estimate. Never got that call. Called the office number again and left a voice mail requesting an estimate. Still no response. We wrote UNI Design off and found a different contractor. Their website says they do all sizes of jobs, but clearly theyre not interested in smaller work, even though those customers can grow into larger jobs down the road.
