If you have a sweet tooth and stumble into Greensboro, you have to come here. While I am not a big sweets person, you cant resist this place. As you can see from my pictures, they have more than just cheesecake.I got a snickerdoodle cookie and a German chocolate cake for my father. I also got a coffee which was perfect for todays chill. Yet, I normally would get a chai tea or hot cider. They have it all. I definitely recommend this place if you are anywhere near downtown Greensboro.

We had been here many times.But the reason for writing a review is for their ice cream.We had a togo but i finished it on the way home. It was a strawberry icecream and the cakes were strawberry red velvet and banana. Everything was good.

Long story short, some friends and I were out to eat here, when some younger boys came in to harass us. They were like 12, but super annoying and saying some slurs. I turned around to yell at them and apologized to the workers for being loud, and they asked if we were being harassed. I said yes, and then the workers made sure those kids wouldn’t come back. We of course tipped them with what cash we had and went back up to get more food, when they gave us extra little snacks in our bag. They are literally the sweetest people and the food is AMAZING!!! Please please definitely go here, food 10/10 and customer service 11/10

My absolute favorite place ever!!! The first tome I tried them I went like 7 days in a row just to try new things every day. I love the lemon tart and the Italian cream soda! The kids love the different kinds of cheesecake and cake. Strawberry red velvet cake is bomb! I’ve already ran my mouth about them to all my friends and family too! Must see spot for Greensboro. Hands down.

Some of the best cheesecake Ive ever tasted! This is not my first visit to Greensboro but my first visit to this place. I had the Oreo and a Mocha Latte both were delicious! The cheesecake was not too sweet but just right. I cannot wait to return to try some of the cakes or the other cheesecake flavors. There was also an amazing variety!Cant wait to return!

Everything we tried was delicious. We had a slice of Cookies and Cream cake, blueberry, key lime, creme brulee cheesecakes, and homemade butter pecan ice cream. They have a good coffee selection to accompany your desserts.

Amazing cheesecakes. I came here two years ago during track and field nationals, and told my parents we needed to make a stop when we were heading north from South Carolina. That’s how good it is there! Italian cream soda is also amazing there.

2nd time here, desserts are amazing and staff was very nice. Site was very clean and welcoming. My only complaint would be to make your signage stand out more because it’s hard to find in small downtown Greensboro. Would be even better if there was a second location or move from downtown. Other than that keep up the good work and will return.

Its not very often that you see a dessert shop specializing in the decadent cheesecakes. This place knows how to make exceptionally light and airy cheesecakes with the proper amount of contrasting elements from the crust and toppings to make an exceptional slice.With COVID, there is no indoor seating so everything is to-go at the moment. However, its in the middle of Downtown Greensboro so you can head over to the park or just eat it outside of the store if youre too impatient to wait which is what I did.I ended up getting the Sweet Potato Souffle Cheesecake since it is still seasonal, but something different from pumpkin. It hit all the right notes and had a nice crumble on top with the classic autumn spices. The sweet potato added a nice essence and was not overpowering at all, but distinct enough to know it wasnt pumpkin. I really enjoyed it and scarfed it down since it was too good!Next time I am in Greensboro Ill definitely have to hit this place up again! Cheesecake King!!

First time there, it was ok. I was happy that they had a gluten free option for my daughter, but wish they would have had more flavors in the gluten free option. I also got a slice of carrot cake, it was good but dry.

A few days ago, my first time there I bought 1 of each of 6 different cookie varieties and I was in cookie heaven. But I went back 2 days later and tried the coconut guava cupcake and cried from sugar delight- that has got to be the creamiest, yummiest creation on earth! I havent even tried their cheesecakes yet but I can say with confidence that they will be be sheer pleasure. What a terrific place!

Literally the best cheesecake Ive had!! It was just straight cheesecake without the extras like layers of cake or fudge. I got the bourbon pecan and strawberries and cream.

Amazing cheesecakes (strawberry and creme brulee) but the secret to let you in on are the Ginger Muffins (heavy on the ginger!). And yes, thats Ginger Muffins with a capital G and M. Get two. Theyre that good.

I have been a loyal customer of here for quite some time and have always enjoyed the cheesecake. However, I just visited today and it was such a horrible experience. As soon as I walked in, the employees immediately start yelling to put a mask on. Instead of saying “welcome” or “good evening, how are you?”, they just yell to put a mask on. I understand the concern to keep everyone safe by wearing a mask but there’s no need to be rude and yell at your customers. After I went back to the car and got a mask, I went back in and the employees working in the front, a guy and a girl, were both extremely rude and unhelpful. They couldn’t even say thank you after purchasing items. After this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you get rid of the terrible employees and learn how to treat your customers, then let me know and I would be willing to give it another chance but until then, I will never be back.

This is one of my favorite places for a sweet treat. Sure, there are other places in town where one could go for a slice but what sets this place apart is their crew. The customer service here is exceptional. Im a regular and have noticed the service they provide is the same for every customer. Its that type of consistency that has kept my family coming back year after year(and leaving tips😉). Keep up the great work you guys!

Really excellent deserts. Availability may vary depending on time of day and business but a lot of options, even some sugar free or low sugar. Cheesecake was awesome.

Very disappointed tonight. Ordered a few dozen cookies for a house full of kids via DoorDash, the favorite being chocolate chip. Upon receiving the cookies, the bag said chocolate chip but the cookies inside were oatmeal raisin. The kids were extremely disappointed. After paying inflated prices plus fees for a delivery service, they should ensure their orders are right.

Its cheesecake, unless you drop it on the floor it starts at a 4*. Not the best ever but also not bad open till 10 pm, though the selection is limited that late.

The service was awesome. They had many different varieties of cheesecake. Additionally, they sold ice cream, coffee, teas and cookies. They had a very good chocolate cookie cream pie. Many great options to choose from

I love this place 2x here im drinking a London fog chai tea and a banana nut muffin. Only complaint staff should ask if I would like it warmed! A little bit more friendly.

The BEST sweet potato cheescake I have ever eaten. I had it at a party once and craved it for 6 years after I had it. When I finally moved back to NC, I had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend!!!

I decided to treat my family to some cheesecakes and cupcakes. When we ordered our items, the young lady in a plaid shirt and jet black hair was very rude. I understand that it was busy but its no excuse to be rude or have an attitude when your job is customer service. Needless to say my kids and hubby dont want to come back. This is the third time we have experienced this type of treatment but wanted to give it another chance. I promise we wont return.

Very disappointed: Purchase a large ny style cheese cake yesterday, after letting it thaw out, i couldnt get a single slice on a plate without it falling apart into several pieces. definitely not going back. how embarrassing it was in front of my guests.

I have been a fan of Alexs cheesecake for years. However tonight I tried banana pudding cake and its disrespectfully delicious. Also try the 12 slice assortment.

Cute shop in the heart of one of the smallest downtowns Ive been to. Lots of assorted desserts. If theres a line, there must be something special in store and worth the wait. We picked up a plain cheesecake, creme brulee cheesecake, and a cannoli. We sat in a cozy spot in the cute dessert shop where we enjoyed people watching and had a view of the kitchen where they had several loaves of bread being made for the next day. They also had outdoor seating and another level of seating in the back of the store.

This place is our new obsession. So good. The white chocolate raspberry, chocolate chip, and Oreo have so far been winners. We need to try more. Some of the best cheesecake Ive ever had.A downside is the parking but Im not going to fault them for that, its the nature of being downtown.

Stopped by and tried a some cheesecake with a few people and found the cheesecake as well as the people I was with found the cake to be quite good and fresh. The bag contained 4 deserts and 1 fork. Found staff pretty rude but if that doesn’t bother you foods pretty good

Literally, every time I pass anywhere near Greensboro, I stop here for dessert, coffee, snack, you name it. They are all fabulous and the staff is very nice. Todays trip was extra special because my baby boys birthday is Wednesday and he loves their Blue Velvet Cake.

Wonderful cheesecakes and assorted pastries all for a low price! I can’t think of anywhere in NC that makes better muffins. Their hard working, reliable staff makes your visit quick and easy, so don’t feel disheartened if you see a line of people waiting for their turn to order.

I really loved the pineapple cheesecake as well as the NY Style and the brownie turtle. There are many other different options that I hear are all out of this world. You wont be disappointed.

Prices are great, food is delicious, and it was an absolute pleasure meeting and being helped by Draden. We will definitely stop back by next time we are in town.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the cheesecake slices here. He got the peanut butter chocolate and I had the strawberry cream. The cheesecakes were dense (which I prefer), if youve ever had Uncle Cheesecake in high point, Cheesecakes by Alex is completely different. Uncle Cheesecake serves more creamy slices. I recommend trying both to judge yourself, but Cheesecakes by Alex is now my #1 cheesecake shop in NC!

I usually dont like cheesecake that much, but this is the good stuff! I also tried the blue velvet blueberry cake and it was great too. Very rich though, so small portions are your best bet.

I absolutely adore this place! The atmosphere here is wonderful and they have such a huge variety of cheesecakes that are all so delicious. They have coffee and cake you can buy too. (I definitely recommend their lemon-raspberry cake) The staff is very kind and the store is kept nice and tidy. If you are anywhere near the area you absolutely have to come visit this place, you won’t regret it!

Was so excited to try cheesecake here since so many friends recommended it. I walked in, ordered one of the cheesecake flavors, only to arrive home with the bag and find a slice of cake! What?!?! Both my friends got their cheesecake, but yeah, I had dry, stale cake that tasted awful. 100% would not recommend.

Great cheesecake, extremely rude employee.I’ve been coming to Cheesecakes by Alex for several years. It’s always a spot I try to bring guests to since their cheesecakes are amazing. However, I’m going to seriously rethink that after my experience this Sunday evening. I was berated by a female employee with brown hair in front of other guests simply for taking two plastic forks from an uncovered plastic bin that was situated directly in front of me while I ordered. She yelled at me not to take the forks because that would “contaminate” other forks in the bin. Again, the bin was uncovered, sitting on top of the display case, in full view and accessible to everyone ordering. Most importantly, there was zero signage anywhere near the bin telling customers not to touch it.I suggested to the young lady that, if they are so concerned about contamination, they may want to rethink their strategy of placing an uncovered container in such an accessible spot with zero signage. Unwilling to see my point, she proceeded to argue with me about how I needed to keep my opinions to myself.Needless to say, I was shocked she would treat a paying customer, who was simply acting in a completely reasonable manner, this way. If you don’t want customers to touch the utensils, perhaps put up a sign that says: “Please don’t touch”. Better yet, move the container away from its current spot and out of the reach of the public. At the very least cover the container and you’ll likely avoid this type of misunderstanding. But don’t be surprised when customers act in a completely reasonable way and don’t berate them in front of other customers.Maybe this young lady was having a bad day, but there’s simply no excuse to treat customers in this method. There are several ways this employee could have handled this issue, but her approach showed she has no business being a customer-facing employee as she showed a lack of awareness, tact, and basic customer service skills. She should be coached and mentored about handling situations like these going forward. This was an ugly display of poor customer service that, if handled better, would have averted this outcome and the loss of a regular customer. I’ll take my business to some of the other excellent establishments in Greensboro going forward.

I tried the low sugar espresso cheese cake and love the texture. The flavors were just right with nothing being too overwhelming. Also tried the German chocolate cake and the chocolate icing seemed as if it was out of the box (I would individually give it a 2). It just didnt taste right. The coconut and guava cup cake was fantastic!

Very overpriced for the mediocre item I got. If your driving go to their competition on battleground much better food, and worth the line wait. Get double the size of the item for same price.

The staff are friendly and its open late if you want a late night treat but honestly not great tasting. In the times Ive gone Ive tried 2 kinds of cheesecake, another regular chocolate cake, an eclair, a brownie and cookies. Everything is so super sugary and lacks flavor. Great place if youre looking for diabetes, not so great if you want quality treats with flavor.

Freshly baked croissants, bagels, a lovely assortment of pastries & of course, the best cheesecakes in the Triad. They have a large variety of flavors in the cheesecakes, & even offer variety packs. Bought a smaller variety pack for work. Next time I hope some of the slices make it to work with me.

I ordered 10 cheesecakes from this place for my Wedding!! I had made out labels for each cake so all my guest knew which ones were what flavor. In my order I had 5 NY original, which I did not get. Instead I got key lime flavor! Thank goodness none of my guests were allergic to key lime thinking they were picking up something else.I called and spoke with Gloria who took my order and she said she would have to ask Alex if it was okay to give me a refund. She called back 1 minute later saying Alex would not be issuing me a refund and when I asked to speak with him on the phone, he would not. Extremely upset and this was for my Wedding! Although the cheesecakes were good, the order was Wrong and I never got an apology! Beware before you pick this place, and if you do make sure to taste the cake before you leave the bakery so you know what Alex made for you.
