Please do not work for African American Art & More, Jackie White is very unprofessional, and all around does not know how to talk to her workers. I have been at this job for a total of 4-5 weeks, and there are some interesting things that has happened within my short time there. On my third day, I tried to question about my pay, and my tax information and both Jackie, and her mother made me feel very out of place for even asking about it. Ms. G (The Owner) went as far to say, I do not give my employees their tax information till about 2-3 weeks in, and even sometimes not until they are making $600 a check. Being that you are not making that I was trying to help you out. Most people appreciate that I do this, because it is more money on their check. There were MUTILPLE times were Jackie talked to employees like they were incompetent or slow. Jackie went as far as making an employee and myself repeat what she said back to her as if we were children. The last straw was when I also got into a car accident last Thursday. I informed Jackie right away, and told her I would not make it in. She accuses me of lying first, then proceeds to ask for proof, then says I hope you are ok. I went up to the job to give her the proof, and she lied to me as to why she needed it. Fast forward to Monday of this week, I called the store several times from the hours 11:00am-11:10am to get my schedule. No one answered, so I proceed to text her for my schedule. Jackie tells me HOURS later that she is cutting my hours due to tax season. I went from 18-20 hours to 6 this week. When I went to work, I saw that everyones hours were not cut, expect for mines. My hours were given to another employee. I was informed that this is something that she does, and she is a vindictive person, and if she is mad at you she was cut your hours on purpose. Jackie also was still insinuate I was lying about being in an accident to other employees. Today, I tried to ask her the real reasoning as to why my hours were cut. Of course she did not tell the truth but she did state that the employee covered for me so that is why he got the hours this week.... Again I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT,WITH FULL PROOF AND DOCUMENTATION FROM THE DOCTOR... There are other employees that have left that will tell you they had the same poor experience working for this company, but if you dont believe me just see for yourself :)
