I was having an issue with my car, which they thought was an electrical issue. Told me I HAD to go all the way to the store in Metairie because they had no one on site that could diagnose electrical issues, just for me to find out my battery was dead. Wasted time going out that far, and spent even more money for a Lyft just to go back and pick up my car. Only to find out it was the battery. 1 star because the guy on the phone was rude, didnt wanna run a check on what I THOUGHT was wrong with my car, and barely let me speak to explain the issue. Had good service done the first time I brought my car to them, but I honestly don’t think I’ll go back after this experience.

If I could give a zero-star I would knowing pep boys fix on my vehicle and my brakes caught on fire with me and my kids in the vehicle. Now pep boys saying they cant fix the vehicle now because theres a part that is discontinued but they did $1,900 worth of work on my vehicle now Im out of a vehicle and $1,900 what do you think about that

Sat in the waiting area for two hours while 3 technicians changed one tire and did a lot of standing around. Finally took it to firestone and they told us what the problem was in 10 minutes.

I had to drive a friend to pick up his car that was being serviced. When we arrived he was informed that something had come up with the son of the mechanic and hed need to return the following day to pick it up. My thing is, I understand things happen, but a little communication goes a long way. Why couldnt they have called so my friend couldve save a trip? It makes no sense. I would not recommend.

People, its normally all about people. I believe that I am like most people and I will remember the personal interaction with employees long after I remember what I purchased or if I saved few coins when it comes to having a good experience at a store.I am writing to give customer feedback about a positive experience at the Pep Boys on Behrman Highway in Terrytown, Louisiana. The lug nuts on my front right wheel were too tight for me to loosen. I am not a light weight and I had a large cross lug wrench. The last person to tighten the lugs down must have used an impact wrench with the torque set on high. It wasnt Pep Boys. I took my truck back to where I had last had that wheel removed, Good Year. The service manager wouldnt let me use one of his impact wrenches. I understand why he wouldnt, but I could have easily loosened the lugs in less than 30 seconds. He said that he would loosen them but I would have about a 2 hour wait to get the vehicle into a bay. Bummer!On a whim, I stopped by the Pep Boys on my way home. Your service guy behind the counter, the name Eddie was on his shirt, was just great! Thanks! He was articulate, interested in helping, had a genuine smile on his face, and was friendly. I explained the situation and asked if I could just pull my truck up to the back of one of his bays to use one of his air hoses & impact wrenches for about 30 seconds to loosen the lugs. He said No and, again, I understood. He said that he could have one of the mechanics pull it into a bay to loosen the lugs and a bay was open. I asked how much it would cost. I was ready to pay some nominal amount just to get on with my day. He said he wouldnt charge me even though I told him that it was not Pep Boys that over tightened the lugs in the first place. Thanks!While I waited I talked with the same guy whose name I believe is Eddie. I hadnt previously had work done on my vehicle at Pep Boys. I had purchased parts at Pep Boys but had done most of the work on my truck myself. I have Michelin tires on my truck and asked Eddie if Pep Boys sells Michelins. He said yes and gave me a competitive price on a pair of the size and type I use. Ill be back in a couple of months to purchase them at Pep Boys thanks to the good people skills of your employee Eddie.People today dont give enough credence on just being nice to people. Just based on my interaction with Eddie Ill be giving more of my business to Pep Boys.

Took my car in to be serviced on 11/24 and boy did this guy mess up. Was suppose to fix my heater issue in the car which they “could not do” as they wanted me to take it to a ac technician. Then here comes the oil change....instead of the high mileage synthetic they did just the regular oil change. On top of that they damaged my oil drain plug during this as the car was leaking oil.Stay far away from this place.

The entire service department failed to come to work the day of my appointment Friday 8/17/2019. Myself and another gentleman waited a good hour before the lady in the retail area came back and told us to come back later or they would give us a call back. Four hours later a guy called as if nothing was wrong. Can’t say if the actual mechanic work was horrible, but customer service in the service department was literally none existent.

I made an order online for a full set of tires and then set up an appointment for installation. I arrived at the scheduled time (11 am) and Steve told me that it would take a couple of hours- and then arranged for a Lyft to take me home.2 1/2 hours later I got a ride there and noticed my truck had not been taken into the bay yet.I called the store while sitting in my friends car, clearly seeing my truck and all the activity in the shop Steve answered.When I asked him the status of my car installation he said Its in the bay and they are working on it now. That was a complete LIE I was looking at my truck the whole time!!Well thirty minutes later, they did take it into the bay and nd SIX hours after my appointment I was finally able to leave.I can tolerate lots of things - but bold face lying is not one of them.

I order a tire and install at Pep Boys on 1/16 on Amazon, they take the schedule on 1/30, but when I came here, they took me a new schedule on 2/2. Ok fineWhen I come on 2/2, they told me they cant fine where is my tire. They told they cant call the boss what going on 😡😡.after that, I came home, and they told they will call me when they find and install the tire.The man who service is very nice, but the Pep Boys is so bad. Waste a lot of time in here.

They stole my license plate! I called the police and reported it stolen. Not to mention my car had been left in their care Thursday October, 24th while I went on a 5 day vacation! I get back my license plate is gone and no work was done on my car until I showed up! After they finished putting my starter on I left to go and obtain another license plate! The manager Eddie Compton calls an says he has good news that they found my license plate inside the store! Why was it taken off is my question and the second question is why wait until I left to say you found it?! There is no way that the plate could have came off when the tow truck dropped it off because my plate sits inside of my bumper I also have pictures & the old license plate cover they left on the ground I also have a police report and I’ve been trying to contact the area managers since the incident!

I setup an appointment for struts on my 2009 G8GT. Appointment was for 10 and I was 15 minutes late. The guy tells me that we need to do an inspection of the front end to be certain it is the struts at a cost of 20 dollars.I sat there for 2 and half hours before my car even got on a lift!!!! Anyway the guy tells me Hes going to get me a price for the struts. No problem. Then he tells me after 3hrs. that he has too use an outside vendor. Today I call them to get the price and Pep boys is going too have too call me back with price??? STILL HAVENT GOT A PRICE!!#! NO CALL BACK NOTHING!!!!!!! DISAPPOINTING. My contact info is my email

This Pepboys has the speed shop in it. They have a ton of AN fittings, high performance brake pads, etc that no other chain autoparts carry for classic cars as well as modern. I wish it was closer as it is a 2 hour drive for me. I would frequent it a lot more often.

Im here due to the simple fact that my mom spent 1,900 dollars and we no longer have transportation for the time being. They clamied that the vehicle was ready 2 times, and each time my mother vehicle caught on fire with all 6 of her kids inside so be very open minded before you decide to work with this corporation, because at this very moment I agree with the people who are saying pepboys should be shut down under these reviews.P.s after we left pepboys it felt like a funeral u leave with your heart broken,Put you in a life of pain, bad memories, and nothing left in your wallet !!! And we have receipts and pictures with the fire department. After this experience Im deciding to be a firefighter !!!

I WAS WAITING 3 HOURS!!!! I was getting two new tires on the front of my ford escape and I made an appointment for 11am. I called ahead of time to ask how long it would take and they told me an hour. When I arrived they already had someone they were working on and they told me it was the other 11am appointment. After two hours they were still working on the SAME car! When I complained to the manager he blamed the online system for double booking the 11am slot. That doesnt explain why the man before me also had to wait three hours and he was getting 4 tires! Horrible experience!

I had an appointment. 2 1/2 hours later my car is placed on the rack. 1 hour after that, I was informed of any problems and cost. 1 1/2 hours later, I was informed the part ordered was defective and they were awaiting new parts. I was then offered a ride home and was advised I would receive a call when the vehicle was ready. At approximately 6pm, I received the call but had to get a ride to the location to retrieve my vehicle and pay. Wow...

Service department is filled with criminals. They charge 3 to 4 times what a local shop would charge and they will lie to you about your vehicle to take advantage of you. Do yourself a favor and never step foot into pepboys tarrytown. Complete scam. This place should be closed forever.

My husband has been a loyal Pepboys customer for many years. After picking up a nail on his back tire he was unable to patch, we made an appointment to get a new back tire and have his tires rotated. We went online to reserve the appointment and pay for the convenience. When it came time for the appointment, Pepboys said they were not aware we had one? Then when my husband picked up his truck they said we dident pay! We paid online and had a receipt. After standing there for over 35 minutes they were able to confirm we paid online prior to the appointment. The biggest kicker is they did NOT rotate his tires!!

Make sure you pay attention to the services you receive. Got an oil change, which is to include tire rotation, and they failed to rotate my tires until I said something. Also, when I arrived for my appt, the guy at the desk seemed irritated. One of the mechanics came and told him one of ther vehicles needed a part and he said, dont worry about it, just get them out of here. I definitely will not return.

If I could leave 0 stars I would! I’ve never been so annoying by my experience with a pep boys. after dropping off the car they began calling me trying to upsell me with things I did not require or ask for. Then, upon inspecting their work a few weeks later, I noticed they had completely destroyed one of my lug studs which took me 5 hours to replace. Do not go here !

Ive never had a problem at any of the stores. Just like any auto parts store they dont always have some parts but usually they can order it and have there the next day. Depending on what parts, just like every other parts store some things are cheaper and some arent. Will always shop at pepboys.

Products are good boy the service on return items or warranty items suck I brought my yellow top Optima battery for warranty because of it dropping down to 6 volts and according to optimos website their batteries should not be charged no more than 15 amps and I told the guy that but he went ahead and had it on the charger on 32 amps so therefore it was only a top charge not a full charge and I am still having problems with my battery

I Paid to inspect the transmission mount on my antique 1990 Volvo 240 DL = when I was called in the car was up on the lift with this tech jamming a crow bar up the transmission lifting and shaking the transmission against the motor. He broke the driveline sensor causing my care to randomly cut off while driving - I am paying a Volvo tech now over $300 to repair the sensor and the mount .when the car was lowered on the lift 3 other shop tech were leaning on the hood with their greasy hands = I just paid to have the car painted two days ago now there is grease spots on my hood. Yet another expense to repair. I am considering legal action after I receive the final bill from Volvo Tech this week Friday .and cost to repair my new paint job = This was the absolute unprofessional inappropriate irresponsible actions I have ever experienced with Pep Boys service . I was told the inspection which should have been just visual - was $25 then I find out there is a $2 shop fee added on? I guess for the use of the crow bar being jammed into my transmission and moved and breaking the sensor .I dont feel 1 star is even appropriate for this place - they need some serious inspectors review their practices

Went to get brake pads replaced. Online ad claimed $100 brake job includes inspection, replacement pads, rotor resurface, and warranty. They tried to charge an extra $15 for the inspection and another $100 for rotor resurfacing. I ended up doing it myself and saved a ton of money. I did find Armor All wipes on sale, tho.

I work 3 minutes from this location on the Westbank, I live in New Orleans. I had a coupon for an oil change and decided to get an oil change while at work. At 3:15 I called and asked if there was a wait. I was told that there would be a 30 minute wait and an additional 30 minutes to do the oil change. I thought, perfect because I get off at 4:30 so by the time I get off my car will be ready. My friend/co-worker followed me there so I could drop off my car, we got there at 3:27 and returned to work. I actually left work at 4:40 (normally 4:30) and headed that way. Got there, car still hadnt been worked on. Ok, no biggie, whatever. So, I spent 25 minutes in the dollar store and then 5 or so more minutes in the La Morenita grocery store. I got back to Pep Boys at 5:30 now. I still saw my car on the ground and asked was it finished. Oh no, apparently the technician who was assigned to do the oil change wasnt even there so my car was not done. I was furious because there it was 5:30, a Friday, and I was on the Westbank! Traffic was horrible. I took my keys and just said forget it and left. I didnt stay because I was so disgusted AND I had to take my dogs out (I live in an apartment). I didnt get home until 6:30. I will never return to Pep Boys again, it just put a bad taste in my mouth and no oil in my car, lol.

With in the last three months I had to replace 3 tires because of the raggy streets of New Orleans. I have a tire and wheel protection plan on my car which I have had for 11months. Each time I come to pep boys it takes 2 hours to get a tire change if their busy or not. Worst service ever. My last time for real.
