The Air conditioning failed on my 2006 Tahoe. I dropped it off at the agreed appointment time. They called shortly with a detailed explanation of the problems and what the cost would be to repair. Next day is was repaired as promised at the price quoted. It is now working good as new. They are honest, do excellent work. and genuinely appreciate your business.

My car would not start after shopping in Griffin. I had roadside service ck it, was told the problem was starter related. After diagnostic, National Brake & Muffler found relay was bad. Took one hr to repair and started up. Im very pleased with the auto service here. I had been here before, approx 18 yrs ago. They did great then, still doing great service. I will be bk. Semper Fi

Engine problems developed. Came here. They ran a check and documented the error code was under the Hyundai Recall notice sent out last year. Great place. Have to have it towed to the nearest Hyundai Dealer. Wish Southland Hyundai was as proactive towards its customers as National Brake and Muffler.

My battery BLEW UP! It wasn’t one of theirs. I called them, I was very close (at the KFC), and 3 of them came over and pushed my truck away from the take-out window (another story!). Then they checked the engine, determined the problem, and replaced the bad battery. Right there. I thought I’d been shot- really. It was extremely loud, and my truck just shutdown. Harvey checked it all over, and said, “Here’s your problem.” These guys are great! They are the only people that touch my truck and my wife’s Lexus LS460. Can’t say enough good about them.

Honest! Professional! Raak and the crew took care of us above and beyond. We broke down 3 hours from home. They did everything. Worked out warranty details, told us everything up front and did not try to push us into anything. Gave us a time frame and they finished ahead of schedule. Ive only ever met 1 reliable mechanic in my whole life & now I know theres a whole shop full of them in Griffin. You can tell the owner takes care of his people because it shows in their commitment to getting the job done. We would drive the 3 hours back just for an oil change. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I think they are awesome. They have always been honest with me and my family. They do excellent work and in a timely manner. Their prices are great and fair. It is hard to find a good, honest mechanic. No worries there.

The men that work here are very friendly and knowledgeable. The first time I came here, I asked them to look at the brakes in my car for a second opinion. They did look at it for me and showed me what the problem was. They also showed me how much it would cost to get it fixed. When I accepted they offered to give me a ride home saying that the fix would take a few hours. I declined, but thanked them for the offer. They called me two hours later and they texted me afterwards asking me how everything was working. The squeal in my brakes were gone and the ride felt so much smoother.

In these days of customer no service it was indeed a pleasure to deal with a company who has not forgot that service still counts. The battery on my Kia died and I was lucky enough to be close to National Brake & Muffler. .They replaced my battery and had me on the road in a very short time. I will definitely visit them again for my automotive needs.

Moved to Georgia from Ohio had Car issues as soon as i got down here . I only been here for 2 weeks called Carmax and my Extended plan coverage should me this was the closet to my location. I called them and they immediately took my car in ....same day. When I got to the location I had no ride home the offered me a ride asap. Not only did I not have the extra cash on me to pick the car up in less than 24 hours.... they offered to work with me to be able to drive my car home that same day... By far the nicest best place i have dealings with in my life. The staff was all excellent and respectful....When my car was ready they picked me up in my car. These folks are the freaking best hands down.... Oh and my car is back to 100%...☺

Really good people. My car did not started at the parking lot across from Goodwill and they send a person to start my car. It was the battery and instead of sell my one, they help me to find out that my battery was under warranty still. That is what I will call serious and good people. Thanks for all the help

My father in law has always been my go to mechanic. If there was something he couldnt do, he always knew where to take it. Since he has past away its been extremely hard to find a good mechanic take my mother in laws truck. And I have to say national brake and muffler exceeded my expectations! I will continue to go back and recommend anyone to them!

I bought my tires through Tire Rack and National Brake and Muffler was recommended by Tire Rack for the install. Making the appoint was easy and I received my car back in just a few hours. Work was done extremely well and the staff was very courteous.

My car air conditioning was broken and they fixed it quickly, right before a heat wave. A month later it broke again and they honored their warranty and fixed it immediately, free of charge. Everyone in the shop is friendly and knowledgeable, return customers are recognised when walking in the front door. I trust this shop and will return again if I have any more trouble with my car.

Update 10-22-20: Still great customer service and follow up. I was referred by a friend several years ago and have been getting repairs and maintenance done here ever since. I just had another Toyota 90K mile timing belt replacement service done. The truck now has a little over 395K miles and is running smooth.--Been going here for a few years. These guys take good care of customers. I had an issue come up a year or so ago on and they followed up to make sure I was taken care of. Called me several times to make sure it was resolved to my satisfaction -- and it had been.

I finally found a place that knows what they are doing and at very reasonable rates! Found the problem with my 6.0 not having power. Professional outfit. You wont leave there unhappy!

Steve and Walt, the up front guys, are very knowledgeable and steer me to the correct service. My 2013 F-250 6.7 diesel is kept in top notch condition (210,000 miles so far, and looking for over 500,000) as well as my wife’s Lexus. Oil changes are fast and accurate- you don’t spend all day waiting around. Top notch service at good rates.

It was over 85 degrees and both of my air conditioners in my Cadillac Escalade had gone out. They told me they would fit me in and they did. Turned out they needed a part and it was 5:00. They lent me a car and said they would call me when it was finished. They followed through and they both are working great again. If you haven’t experienced it GM air conditioning is the best when they are working.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!! Dont go here! They will literally rip you off. Brought my vehicle here for a noise coming from my front end. They claim its bad brakes. So over 600 dollars later theyre replaced and they GUARANTEED the noise would go away. Nope, still there. So i take it back and now its the wheel bearing thats making the noise and they wanna charge me over 300 this time. Not even trusting them at this point i take it somewhere else and find out its ONE TIRE.... Their mechanics couldnt figure that out because they werent even trying. Dont go here. Would rate 0 stars if i could.

Just went in for a muffler repair, turned out to be a quick weld, once we waited for the car to cool down it didnt take any time at all. Only cost me forty bucks and stopped the excess noise, so yay!

Ive consistently taken my vehicles to National Brake & Muffler for years because of the top-quality service Raak and his team provide for their customers. From routine oil changes to major repairs, the team at National Brake & Muffler has the skill and expertise to keep your vehicle up and running for a long time.

I have had a grinding noise when I apply my breaks ever since I bought my car used in Washington State. Ive taken it to dealers and other mechanics in Washington, Illinois and here in Georgia. New pads, was told they recut the breaks, I kept getting the grinding noise. Brought my car here on a recommendation from my neighbor. NBM looked at my breaks and recut. I have never had that grinding noise ever again, and my breaks work better than ever. NBM does all my work. Excellent workmanship, fantastic people. A car is a complex thing, so not everything goes according to plan, but when NBM has done work, and there was a follow-up issue, they were quick to fix and double check, never over charging or putting on added charges. If I move to another state, I would drive here to bring any of my cars here. Good - no GREAT mechanics you can trust and believe in are hard to find, and NBM to me is the best Ive come across ANYWHERE in the country.

It pains me to write this review. When we moved to Griffin, I brought my car to National. They did an AMAZING job for me. I vowed from that point on I would bring our cars there for everything and I have. My last experience was more than a disapointment. I feel I was charged $90 more than I had authorized to diagnose a problem that I already knew existed. Next, I paid for my wipers to be replaced w/o my permission ( and they needed to be replaced, great that they did that) but when I got my car home I discovered they had not been replaced. Had to bring my car back and Raak replaced them immediately. I have talked up National at every opportunity before now and that is why this pains me. My son was given a quote over the phone $190.00 plus tax for front brakes and rotors replacement. He was told the service would take 1.5 hours.When my son brought his car in today at 8:15 am, he was told that they would have to look at his car before giving him a quote.My son remained the person that he received a $190.00 quote over the phone, the manager stated, “should be close to that”.The manager told my son that he would call with a quote after looking at his car. When my son got the call an hour later, the charge was $439.00.After telling the manager he would be picking up his car, the car was still on the auto lift when we got there. Instead of taking 1.5 hour to have the work done it took an hour for the quote.I watched the Manger and the mechanic talk to each other before bringing my son car around to the front, said nothing to my son that it was outside. I had to go inside to let my son know after he waited 15 minutes for his keys that his car was outside. I saw the manager pass my son in the lobby of the shop, to go to the oil changes area and not acknowledging my son waiting.Im so angry, disappointed, disgusted with lies and the disrespect.Go to National Brake & Muffler in Griffin, GA if you want to be cheated.

Anybody who complains about National Brake and Muffler just has an axe to grind. They have been nothing but friendly and helpful as well as professional in my experience and the repair work is top-shelf. There is no other repair shop for me in Griffin and trust me, I have been to most of them. What they quote you is what you pay and there is no surprise upselling. Some of the critics are proof that you just cant make everyone happy, but in my case I am.

I have been a customer of National Brake & Muffler for a number of years. I would drive from Fayetteville, now Jonesboro to personally use their services. Much more than a brake or muffler shop; these guys can, do and have done it all - great mechanics and service every time. They stay pretty busy, it always helps the customer to call ahead if possible - this will get you in and out a little faster most of the time.

This is the worst shop I have ever been to, customer service from Brent, is terrible and the amount of problems I have dealt with after picking my car up have been the worst.They told me the fixed a rear main seal after I brought it back due to an oil leak and never was it replaced. Still having the same oil leak that I never even had prior to bringing my car to them. Save your time, and patience from coming here. If i could give zero stars i would. Never will i ever return here and will save other from doing the same.

My 2003 Ford Focus wagon would run okay, then stop. Charge battery, run a bit then dead, or if it just sat there kaput. Went to a local shop used for years-now in second generation with one of my former students. He said BAD BATTERY. New battery over a hundred bucks. Same problem-said it needed new alternator.Died again-after driving a ways or sitting still. Visit 3 he said there was an electrical leak somewhere and finding could be expensive, so I BEGAN QUESTIONING MY OLD SHOP, and thus I called a local chain dealer and explained my problem. The manager said he preferred to refer problems like that to the NATIONAL BRAKE AND MUFFLER just behind his place on Bowling Lane. Results: They found no leak-the problem was the NEW BATTERY from my old mechanic was new but not working and WAS the leak like my old battery. They replaced it, thus there was no LEAK! I was out big bucks on my old shop. I then asked about the front end vibration and they diagnosed it was a bad motor mount. FIXED-all this in one day! Thanks Terry. now the old wagon is dependable again, and Mama can have back her new Honda coupe that crunches my knees and back when getting in or out.- Johnny Hendricks
