I came to this location on 6/1 to get some diy items for an event I was planning while home visiting family. STEFAN was amazing. I don’t usually leave reviews, but if I could’ve tipped him I would’ve because he went over and beyond to make sure I got everything I needed. Stefan works in the plumbing section I believe and had some sort of injury to his leg or foot, but when I say he wouldn’t let it bother him, he continued to give me excellent service!These 4 stars are for him and I hope the Corporate office monitors this business page, because I have no doubt he has given others the same quality customer service experience!
People in appliances helped me decide what to purchase took time to look thru screens of things thank you the lady was so understanding and helpful I was asking for something they didnt have in color I wanted she was happy to look true caring yeah

Have been to many different Home Depots, including some in multiple states. Customer service in this store doesnt exist. Young guys spent time flirting with female cashier. One didnt know where anything was another sent me to the wrong aisle ( missed by 8 aisles. Asked another to help load lumber. Next thing I know hes over by the girl. Asked another if I could leave my cart by the register. Came back and the cart was gone. No one would even answer when I asked what happened. Oh, and they were still hanging around the register flirting with the girl. Finally found some one to help me, an older fellow who was waiting on multiple customers while stacking items on shelves.I didnt go through the entire store but in this half, he was the only employee I saw working.
Was there try to buy tools someone was helping me.Then He disappear they never came back I was waiting for 30 minutes and nobody else was helping me out
Overall great experience with this store. Except when it came to the installation of my new fridge and new carpet. Three months later, I am still dealing with damaged wood flooring from the fridge installation; and a visible seam in the carpeting that cannot be repaired or replaced. The sales and management team have been wonderful to work with; however I have had a very disappointing experience with the work performed by the appliance delivery company & carpet installers, unfortunately.
Sometimes they dont have enough cashiers and you have to wait a long time to pay for.

Like many others I’m busy at work so trying to get something done with home depot on my padding in a carpet area that was just installed 4-5 months ago that is now coming up and rippling. Just want that spot replaced and fixed but everytime I call from work I get hung up on once transferred. So frustration Keith Gunning
Ordered for curbside pickup. They are not handling curbside pickup any better a year into the pandemic than they were at the beginning. They brought out an order that was not mine. It took about 45 minutes to resolve. Order pickers need to be aware that we are paying for these items. That planter they brought out had water damage on the inside and bird poop on the outside. I could have cleaned it but if I am paying full price I should not have to.
The employees were all very helpful. They had what I was looking for. The thing that bothers me about Home Depot is the fact that you cant pay using your phone. I would have thought that such a major corporation would allow you to pay with an app on your phone. I had to go home and get my wallet. I know...my fault for leaving my wallet at home. They were nice enough to save my items for me until I could come back to pay with a card.
Clean store. Variety of name brand items. Staff was polite and helpful. There were plenty of sales and bargains for almost any DIY project.

I could not rent a truck because I was not moving furniture according to Brad from rental department in gurnee illinois. I was simply trying to move baseboard that I was going to buy from them. Has anyone else had issues with Brad in this location? I believe he was either lazy or did not like my skin color.
Many many fall flowers tropicals were 1/2 price. I was looking at dishwasher, didnt find one I liked

Just had a great experience at the Gurnee Home Depot. I wanted to buy some power tools to build a catio. Bob Lila in the tools dept was exceptiomal. I have disabilities and had specific needs. He didnt brush me off. He asked what I needed and spent the extra time it took to get the best tools for me. I am very happy thanks to his help.

I love Home Depot. I would go there a lot for a home make over. I got a large dry wall for 5 dollar but needed half but it was ok. We got 3 gallons of paint and it is very durable
I brought my 95-year-old mother to this store to pick out plants to plant in her flower pots I asked the young girl working outside where the snapdragons were she says just go inside she had no clue what snapdragons were and there was nothing inside terrible that you have people working out in the garden center that dont even know what kind of flowers and plants you have

Brad in tools is a tool...Ive rented several tools and they typically put a hold on my card then process the charge separately. This time gurnee processed the full deposit amount and still has not refunded my money and Brad was less than pleasant on the phone. Terrible customer service
Today I received a new scratched refrigerator and was told a representative would call me back within 24-48 hours to setup a resolution. Then when I went out to check the mail I found a pile of broken glass from the refrigerator I paid extra to have hauled away! Guess who had to clean it up? Not sure why the delivery guys did not own up to it and ask to borrow my broom. No more Home Depot shopping. 😡
Gurnee Mills store a great store to gradually stroll the aisles. When I visit this store I always come up with more home decorating ideas.

Home depots are always good to go to when you need whatever you need just be patient with some of the employees because they might be new employees and had to replace some of the employees that got sick with the coronavirus so people need their jobs and some of them are still learning where all the items are at so when you go shopping there and they cant find something for you just go and ask another person I usually will ask an older person they seem to be more experienced but still have patience when you go shopping youll find what youre looking for and the employees are courteous and they practice safety with the pandemic going on, happy shopping
In & out! I love the quick self check out process, plus I have the receipt emailed to me. Saves time when Im billing time & material handyman jobs to have the receipt already in an digital file.
Used their pickup for the first time, parking lot is clearly marked and easily accessible, their online system leaves a lot to be desired.
Henry from tool rental is always very corteous and knowledgeable. Being a new home home owner, projects are a bit intimidating. However henry has the best attitude and makes my experience the best! The Gurnee HD is not in my town of residence but i will make the drive to Gurnee for the customer service.

Generally the store is fine and the workers are great but one of the guys working at tool rental is always rude and condescending. Also Im pretty sure he lied to me today about all three of the square buffers they had in stock being out of service. One of them clearly was, but the other two both looked fine. The website listed all three as available but he hasnt had time to update it. No apologies. Just a get over it attitude.
Found all the wood I needed at a great price. The staff were freindly and helped me with all my questions. Was in and out in an hour with a truck rented and my wood loaded up for my deck. Great service.
Made a purchase this morning and the cashier was not very nice. Told her I was tax exempt. She proceeded to go to the tax-exempt screen(s) and went past it. I told her you have to back up to the last screen. She said all you have to do is tell me your number. Ive been working here for a long time I dont need to hear all that. I was just trying to be nice and helpful. Older lady with all kinds of awards and badges pinned everywhere. Very unprofessional for such a career employee. Wise up and start treating customers better. Id expect that behavior from the incompetent young people that are working there in the evenings.
Ordered gas stove and washer. Everything worked seamlessly. Bought gas dryer. The delivery company came out and said the gas hookup was broken and they could not install it. They told me to call the gas company to tell them I had no gas hookup. I called the gas company who said I needed to call a contractor. The contractor came out and showed me the gas hookup. It wasnt broken it was just different. I would have had to wait 3 more days for them to come back out to hook it up and take the old one away. If you have more patience than I do, wait. They are coming back in 3 days to haul the old dryer away. Why did the HOME DEPOT hire people to hookup a gas dryer when they dont know what they are doing ? Time is money. Get it together home depot.
Generally like going here, but my latest experience has not been great. Ordered a custom sliding door. It took 4 weeks to come in. Install was scheduled another 2 weeks later. Come install day we find out the store ordered the entire door pre-assembled. This made it too big to move and get installed. Store admitted they made the mistake, but kept us waiting into the afternoon to let us know they would have to reorder the door. Wife and I took PTO and boarded our dogs for the install day. GM Tamsin said they would work something out with us to make up for the time and cost of their mistake. Another 6 weeks later the door was installed, which went smoothly. I reached back out to GM Tamsin as she had instructed me to do. She recalled the situation and said she would review with the necessary folks and let me know what they could do for us. She said she would contact me the next day. She did not do so and it looks like I will have to reach out again.

I just love Home Depot! I went to the one on Grand Ave looking for a specific Intermatic timer. I was in the lightbulb area when a Home Depot rep asked if I needed help. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he took me right to the bay where these specific timers were hanging. He was so helpful and friendly and when another customer interrupted him with her needs, he very effectively juggled both of us. I ended up in the garden section to get bags of leveling sand and decided to check out there. The checkout lady was also extremely nice. The place was very clean, neat and organized. They understand the need to protect their employees and customers from Covid-19 and that is a real plus. It was a real pleasure to shop there.

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Home Depot ( after many many years of purchasing stoves and refrigerators, and washer /dryers) We changed the water filter a few days ago, as we were letting the water out of the refrigerator, it was hot water . We moved the refrigerator and saw that the water pipe was hooked up to the hot water instead of the cold . Because Home Depot did the installation and connection of the water hose, we went to Home Depot and told them what happened and asked them to correct the issue . We were informed at the store that a manager would call us, which he did the next day and said he is not going to do anything to fix the issue . Very poor customer service and there isn’t any customer consideration .

I went to the Gurnee store to purchase a dishwasher. Unfortunately that location was out of stock. Steve got on the computer and saw that the Round Lake Beach location still had a few in stock. He then contacted Jared at the Round Lake location who was waiting for me when I got there! These two men get an A+ for customer service and satisfaction!
I had my kitchen counter tops installed here and was very pleased at the customer service and product knowledge of the associates. Dawn was exceptional. She helped me every step of the way. She offered educated tips and helped me make the right choice for my needs. The installer was very professional and did an excellent job as well. I highly recommend Dawn at the Home Depot. I have been to other stores where the associates wont even offer assistance. This store is really the best with competitive pricing.

I would give them a zero star, but thats not possible. Everytime I call the store, it seems that no one has the time to answer. Like I literally work at a similar store and this would not be acceptable. Then, when I finally get through to someone, they are EXTREMELY RUDE. Like... almost as bad as a McDonalds worker at midnight. I would like to shout out the horrible customer service of the paint department in particular. Im sorry that you work here, its not my fault you hate your job. I will NEVER give them my business again, Waukegan would NEVER treat me this way.
The service and helpfulness of store employees is pretty inconsistent. There are a couple of long time employees that seem to take service seriously but Im otherwise usually underwhelmed by the service when I need it. The Round Lake location seems better run.

Been my home depot for 18 yrs. Slowly got worse and worse. Super old employees need to retire. Especially during covid. The place feels like a retirement home. No sense of urgency really hurts when trying to get parts for aircondition system. Each trip more frustrating than the last. Covid barriers and self checkout make 10 foot objects almost impossible to checkout. Customers seem like a problem now. Customer service compared to the past is HORRIBLE.
Between the Home Depot and Menards, they are very close to the same market. I enjoy them both and usually find what I’m looking for. Very seldom that I need to seek out a hardware store.

The Home Depot was a great place to take my 8 students with autism. We went in January and took a class lead by the nicest teacher. The whole thing was free. I would highly suggest taking a class with them as the accommodate all needs and make it fun to build. The Home Depot in Gurnee should be commended for the inclusive environment they created!
All self check now. During this time is not when I want to learn a new machine and handle it after everyone else. Wont be going back till covid is over.
