This bakery is a slice of hungarian heaven. The owner was kind and informative, the stuff was very courteous.The kürtösh’s are beautiful, and delicious. You can taste the quality ingredients. I had the limited edition mulberry flavor kürtösh, that was an absolute hit ! Nice and clean atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Well I can’t for the life of me see paying $9 for a tiny rolled up plain piece of dough. Don’t get me wrong it’s made fresh right in front of you but why cut it in half for $9 for a plain. Girl went on and on about imported Nutella from Italy looked like a regular jar to me like the one you get at Costco, This place is a rip off I wouldn’t go back that’s for shore

It was fun to eat the bread you can peel, however, its nothing special. I thought it might have chewy texture like pretzels but no it was just a regular bread. Although they use top ingredients and whatever, in the end, it was not something I would pay this price to go eat again.

We’ve been hooked ever since day 1 when we met at our local farmers market! Not only are the chimney cakes absolutely delicious, the owner Nicole is SO nice. She remembers us each time we go. Today she even went out of her way and delivered our order to us curbside when my son was sick and we couldn’t come to her booth. Chimney cakes are unique, they’re almost like fried dough, but they’re long strands of dough baked around a coil. Just unroll and enjoy!! We love the Oreo with Nutella, cinnamon with maple cream and the sparkling sugar with her special strawberry jam. Definitely give Kurly Kurtosh a try!! You will be Nicole’s new #1 fan in no time!

My experience was amazing. We were from South Jersey and drove to North Jersey to try the chimney cakes. The owner was very welcoming and the place is nice. If you are new to her store, she will give info about her productions. You get to watch her how she makes her cakes from scratch. I highly suggest the “Signature” Cinnamon Kurls with maple cream.

Awful experience. I went here last week and the staff were being arrogant and rude. I myself am Hungarian yet Ive never met more stuck up people in my life. The food was mediocre and my wife pulled a large piece of black hair out of her mouth as she was chewing, were both blonde. The attitude of the staff made my stomach turn more than the unclean environment, besides this dish is originally Slovakian I am not sure why my people must ruin it. As a Hungarian I am embarrassed because of them!

I saw on Instagram that they would be at the Nutley Farmers Market and immediately knew it had to be one of the first booths I stop at. I’ve had these growing up in Europe and also recently on a trip to Prague. These are extremely authentic tasting and you have the option of a cone with ice cream or the hollow chimney cone with filling of your choice. The owner was so nice and sweet and we can’t wait to visit the permanent location that she let us know will be opening soon!Edit: next time I’ll post a picture. I have been following Kurly Kurtosh on IG for nearly a year now, and today I was lucky enough to finally try them out after my son’s travel soccer game when I was in Northern NJ. The chimney cakes were absolutely amazing, and tasted so fresh, and the fillings were perfectly paired with the cakes! I tried several different flavors and each one exceeded my expectations. The owner was super sweet (no pun intended), and very accommodating with my order. It was a great experience to enjoy a dessert from another area of the world, right here in NJ. If you’re thinking about trying them out, go for it, you won’t be disappointed 😃

My friend and I went to Prague and Budapest about 5 years back and since then have been fantasizing about trdelniks/chimney cakes. When I found this place my hopes werent too high. I spoke with Nicole over the phone and her customer service skills were through the roof - so knowledgeable, amazingly friendly, and very accommodating! When I got the chimney cakes, I had to drive another 4 hours to my friends house but it was well worth it!! We loved them. The European ingredients make it even more delicious, and I (a person who cant have gluten in the US due to whatever is mixed in there but can enjoy it in Europe) had no problems with it and all the different tastes were phenomenal!!! Such sophisticated flavors, such deliciousness, cant recommend it enough!!! ♥️♥️

Hungarians here! We drove 2 hours to Kurly Kurtosh to bring my father in law (who left Budapest in ‘59) some Kurtosh for his birthday. We go to Budapest every summer and my father in law, my husband, children and I can’t get enough Kutosh from the street vendors. Well we POSITIVELY ADORED Kurly Kurtosh! Fresh! Delicious! Fun! We prefer ours warm with cinnamon and sugar....biting into them were heavenly! I am thrilled to know I can get my Kurtosh in New Jersey and no longer have to fly to Hungary!

Finally had the opportunity to visit the brand new storefront after following the @kurlykurtosh instagram page for years. The owner was very welcoming giving me the history behind the company and showing me the steps that go into making the delicious chimney cakes.All ingredients were fresh and I highly recommend the Cinnamon Kurl with a scoop of ice cream, Nutella drizzle, and don’t forget the edible glitter!

The chimney cakes at Kurly Kurtosh are the most delicious pastries I have eaten. They are freshly made on the spot and you have some great tasting spreads and dips you can add to the cakes. I visit Kurly Kurtosh regularly, and have never been disappointed with these cakes, and you won’t be either.

Chauvinists, been there two times, the first time and last. Undercooked chimney cake, and excuse me but Premium Water. The menu itself is a joke in its own right. I had a ball of a time telling the lady behind the counter that I would never be coming back.

Funny to think Hungarians can take a originally Slovak food and slap the word Hungarian on top of it. What a shame you misinform people. Also enough blabbering about everything but the food, the food itself was mediocre at best. I felt like I was getting a chimney cake that has been sitting for a few hours before being served. I was completely blown away by the incredible customer service, and quality of the food! Nicole, the founder, was super informative throughout our entire visit. She made sure to thoroughly give us a background story of the business and how the chimney cakes are made! They were absolutely delicious. I loved hearing that each ingredient is of the greatest quality; most which are directly imported. This is definitely a hidden gem, and my new go to dessert spot ! Nicole was even kind enough to give us multiple samples of the other items on the menu. I am extremely pleased with my visit, and how welcome I felt from the moment I walked in! Kurly Kurtosh has been a huge supporter of our community mental health agency, CBH Care. They surprised us recently, bringing by different flavors of their AMAZING chimney cakes. The staff was so thankful and excited! The chimney cakes are delicious and unique. My favorite is STILL the cinnamon sugar! We look forward to a continued relationship with Kurly Kurtosh and remain huge fans. You HAVE TO try one!!

First time trying these and I loved them! I thought they tasted a bit like Popovers which I love too. I popped mine in the oven for 15 min to warm it up and then enjoyed my Kurly Kurtosh with butter and a bit of blackberry preserves. Excellent with tea! Next time I’ll try pairing with ice cream : ) Highly recommended.

The treats at Kurly Kurtosh are freshly made and delishes! Their powders take it to the next level and if you add their ice cream each treat is pure bliss! Most importantly their customer service is magnificent. It is easy to see that each treat is made with love and each customer valued and appreciated! I live in New York and was desperate to find some authentic Hungarian kurtos for my mother’s birthday, when I stumbled upon Kurly Kurtosh on google. I called Nicole and she generously offered to bake some for me. I drove all the way to New Jersey from New York and I was so happy to find that it was 100% worth the effort! The smell was delicious and the taste even better. It was as good as the street kurtos we get back home in Hungary! I will definitely be going back again for some more! Thank you so much Nicole!

Got word of this place from TikTok and it did not disappoint. I traveled from Maine and made this place one of my must do stops and can’t wait to make another trip. We had a cake with the strawberry dip and two vanilla cones and we had nothing to complain about. I am a “kurtos kalacs” ( chimney cake) fanatic and i have tried hundreds of kurtos kalacs in hungary. I can assure you this was one of the best if not the best i have tried. Light, fluffy ( but crunchy where it should be crunchy) and incredibly tasty at the same time. Can’t wait to try more! Very-very delicious! The cakes, cherry dipping sauce and ice cream were amazing. We ordered cakes and when we picked them up, the owner graciously gave us ice cream samples to try, and I don’t know if I will be able to eat any other vanilla ice cream again. They were fresh out of the oven and full of flavor. The owner was super friendly and very helpful with answering her questions about allergies. I would highly recommend eating here. It’s about 45 minutes from our house but we will definitely be back.

I ordered a raspberry and Nutella one and a cinnamon maple one and they are both DELICIOUS. So fresh, soft and perfect amount of sweetness.
