My family and I arent anyone special but you guys made our trip amazing and unforgettable. Your shop always makes us feel like pros. Mavericks Surf Shop is by far one of the best surf shops in Nor-Cal!!Surf legend Jeff Clark, one of the most noteworthy and respected big-wave surfers there is owns and runs the shop.Jeff is one of the most personable and friendly people youll ever meet. The staff at Mavericks Surf shop are super friendly and knowledgeable. His shop is loaded with big wave boards along with all other sizes and brands of boards.They also have a awesome selection of clothes and other surf related gear. Check them out, Youll be glad you did.

Great little surf shop off the beaten tourist path. Besides surfboards and surf paraphernalia its a cute little gift shop. They have a great selection of Mavericks t-shirts and other gifts. The people are very friendly and always so helpful. My two teenage Sons love I get them a t-shirt from there. I always stop by when Im in the area.

Thanks Mavericks Surf Shop. Kian, Dave and Tom have great customer service and were very knowledgeable.Our surf was wonderful and they have great rental surfboards, and wetsuits.

Weve rented about 5 times from this shop over the past six months. Its convenient but the service is hit or miss. The 40s women with longer dark hair (owner or manager?) is great and super friendly and helpful, but some of the employees seem disinterested and like they would rather stand out back and chat. Twice weve had the same problem as another reviewer that the kids didnt want to bother to rent us boards not because of surf conditions or safety, because they said they didnt have any available, until we pointed to the rack outside and said how about those?. Then they grudgingly got us set up.

Friendly surf shop atmosphere and the very attentive staff did not hesitate to contact the owner for specific high-performance supplies to get me on the water. The owner was very helpful and insightful regarding the approaching swell and mentioned dozens of different surf spots to check in the area. Jeff is super humble and still carrying the stoke of riding waves. A true Watermen! Anyone at any level (Grom-Veteran) that is fueled by surfing, big waves, SUP or Foiling should definitely check this shop out. You wont be disappointed!

A perfect shop for surfing

Stopped in to see Jeff Clark. Sorry to say he wasn’t there. However his employees were great. They gave me directions to the Mavericks viewing area. Bought a shirt and headed to the shoreline to watch the surf and surfers. Stop In you’ll enjoy it.

Service was good. The employees were really helpful and attentive. The problem is that first I was given a board that had a clear damage on one side, that was covered by a duck tape. Then when I got into the water, after a 20 minute walk from the store, I could feel water leaking into the wetsuit. Waves were good, but the water leaking into the suit, was distracting and uncomfortable.

A must stop for any keen surfers if you are in the area.

Rented a board and wetsuit for my beginner friend (I have my own gear) here and went surfing down the road a bit to the south. The owner was surfing there too and recognized the board as coming from his shop. He came over to say hi and even gave my friend an impromptu mini-lesson.

One of the Best Surfing spots in the world! Great microbreweries of beer, a fun part of the Northern Half Moon Bay area, very clean, nautical, and some great food! One of Californias Gems! Also home of the very nearby Pumpkin Festival and lots of neat shops, all nearly right on the Pacific Ocean!!! Come visit!

First off, the staff is so sweet here. They have a good variety of products: Clothing, boards, wetsuits, swimwear, shoes, sunglasses, and some little knick knacks of course. It truly is a little gem of Half Moon Bay tucked into the corner of the Pier

Great gear, great folks, great views of the harbor, quick walk to buy fresh crabs off the boat, fresh hot food next door, this is a great surf shop!They have really embraced and are promoting stand up paddling and you can rent a board to get your feet wet while touring the harbor. Killer exercise!Too bad they dont have a few thousand more SQFT for a local surf museum!Cheers!

Refused to rent us a wetsuit at 2pm on a Saturday! Recommend half moon bay board shop instead if youre looking for rentals. Great staff. Edited in reply to the owner...the surf was like 3 feet...but thanks for telling me what’s safe for me and not ur my hero! I’ve been surfing for years so no way I could possibly know whats safe! U deserve a medal! SIKE my hero is the people down the street at hmb board shop who rented my gf a board and let us have a mellow fun day! Screw this pretentious shop lol.

My wife and I stopped in during a visit of Half Moon Bay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Even met Owner/Mavericks Legend Jeff Clark while we were there. A highlight of our trip.

Great surf shop board rental was hassle free. The location is perfect, the beach is just a short walk from the store. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, even with new surfers. You really cant find a better shop.Mavericks brand apparel, quality surfing supplies, rwntals, and boards. There are a few popout boards, but its mostly hand shaped beauties formed by Jeff, himself.

Its a tourist trap not a real surf shop. Nor-Cal Surf shop in Pacifica is legit and Im sure theres others

The staff is generally friendly. I went there mostly for rentals. They have soft top 8 and 9 footers, and a couple of BIC longboards. The soft tops show some signs of pretty heavy usage.

Eric was a super nice guy to work with when we rented boards and wetsuits for a large group. The pricing was good and the quality of the wetsuits was fine, but the boards werent great. As novices, the styrofoam boards and smaller boards were extremely tippy laterally. The shop has a ton of nice gear for surfing and beach wear.
