Wheelers replaced my front and rear brake pads, rotors, and one of the calipers in less than a day from me bringing it in and at a fraction of the cost I was quoted elsewhere. John was honest, communicative and very friendly. There are not enough places left like this in the world. I can not recommend them highly enough!

Wheelers was recommended by a bunch of students at Quinnipiac, which was the reason why I had gone to get my brakes checked. The staff was very friendly and made sure to get my brakes fixed promptly as I needed them fixed for a trip that I had to make the next day and to go to classes on campus. I highly recommend wheelers as they helped me in a time crunch and did an amazing job.

Wheelers Towing showed up to my workplace and begun towing a coworkers car (who did not call or need a tow). After running out and stopping them before they left, the driver stated that his tablet was dead and was unable to confirm which car to take. The driver then said he got a call for a black civic (very uncommon, I know), and saw this civic and decided it must be the car. It took him a while to be convinced to lower the car back to the ground, which should have never have been taken to begin with. After all, what if the car was taken out of our parking lot and damaged in anyway? That is pretty much theft...After calling Wheelers, and asking why they made no confirmation on what car to tow, the man made it seem like this is normal practice. How can a tow company just show up and take a car without LOOKING AT THE LICENCE PLATE, CALLING THE OWNER, or just maybe WALK INTO THE BUSINESS AND ASK? I guess these steps would require an ounce of effort, so I cant really blame them. Seems like a clueless operation they have going on.At least they were professional and hung up on me when calling to ask how this could happen.

My husband and I kept getting hung up on and they kept trying to give me the run around to avoid towing my car. Every person there hung up on us multiple times when we were just trying to figure out where our car was and when we were getting it.So our car broke down in Hamden CT. AAA put out a dispatch call, wheelers responded. They picked up the car, said it was late at night so they’ll take it to me first thing in the morning and I’ll get it by 1pm next day. The next day, I waited all day and no call no show no updates. We called wheelers and they kept passing blame back and forth like “oh only two drivers work here so it was the other driver.” Each time We called “it was the other driver” of the two.Weasked to speak to a manager multiple times about where my car was and when we were getting it, but “the manager only talks to drivers.” Even the operator lady hung up as soon as she realized which vehicle our call was regarding.Eventually we had to had AAA get another nearby towing campy to come and grab our car from wheelers since they were too lazy to do the tow and too unprofessional to provide me with updates.If you need to tow your car more than 5 miles, don’t bother using wheelers.update in response to owners response below 8/9/21not a scam. we filed the tow with AAA, Wheelers accepted the tow knowing it was being picked up from hamden and being dropped off in Phila, all of the above happened in the above review.Only after leaving the review did the owner decide to call me the following day; profusly apologizing and blaming AAA for everything. took it completely out of his hands, said it was all AAA and when his drivers mentioned my manager, the owner insists that his drivers meant AAAs managers, NOT him. It was definitely the owner they were referencing.IF this was a scam, then AAA wouldnt have sent a new towing company to then pick it up from Wheelers and then complete the service by then having this new towing company drop it off in Phila for us. The new towing company was completely respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful and we were able to get the vehicle safely to PA, no thanks to wheelers.Its a joke that wheelers would then try to discredit me after I didnt fall for their fake apology nor their excuses - an apology they only decided to give AFTER I left a review. before that, they completely ignored me and were completely rude to me.I am an acredited reviewer on Google, check out my account and my other reviews.

Had my car towed thru AAA and they couldn’t even call and let me know thatIt was outside my house parked at handicap spot and left tried calling to make a complaint and the unprofessional dispatcher disconnected line twice… I will never use this service again will left all family and friends know as well as a complaint to AAA😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Very honest repair shop, I needed an axle replacement done for my 2002 BMW which I could not complete myself. (I do a majority of work on my car) The price was spot on and very affordable for the service. No surprise costs or repairs even though my car is quite old and they were thorough. I will be returning for more work as needed.

We have been a customer of Wheelers for a few years and every time we bring our car we receive excellent service. They always provide us with honest guidance on how best to repair our vehicles. It is clear that they do not want to make unnecessary repairs and explain what needs to be done now and what can wait. They are my go to mechanic and I would highly recommend!

Very very busy place plus it was on the weekend I have been waiting at the shop to get a car out Friday night which had been towed there earlier nobody came plus the guy never even called me I had to go through the answering service which I dont think was right very unprofessional the driver Plus I came from Montville which took me over an hour so I had to come back the next day again when I did come back Saturday the two guys that showed up were great Eric and I cant remember the other drivers name unfortunately he went out of his way to help us thank you The driver Friday night not good I dont care how busy somebody is it takes a second to give them a call to let them know whats going on I never had a problem with wheelers theyre reliable and when I had work done on a car they always gave us a fair price especially knowing youre having a difficult time I just hope the owner sees this and talks to that guy gives him a warning cuz Ive heard from others this isnt the first time doing it next time you know what to do not fair for the others who work hard

My positive experience began with the friendly employees at the counter, to the invaluable information given to me during the time my vehicle was being worked on . I have been there numerous times and each time I have had the same experience. The owner John has even went so far as to call the dealership and speak to management on my behalf. After his call I received the work that was done on my vehicle a priority, a free rental and the work that that was done cost free. In my experience the care and integrity is unheard of. John runs an amazing shop. They have done everything from basic oil changes and tires on my Honda Odyssey to tuning my aftermarket turbo on my Porsche Cayman to fixing an exhaust leak on my Audi S8.The rates are clear and reasonable and over the past 10 years, Wheelers has towed 3 of my cars in for service (BMW X3, Audi S8 and Porsche Cayenne S) all are AWD and required professional flat bed service. ZERO issues.On the few occasions weve had issues (like an oil plug washer that was crushed and required another oil change/plug/washer) they stepped up and fixed it with no drama or cost.

Quick easy responsible trustworthy and reasonable did not try to take advantage of a badd situation

My car had an intimate encounter with a deer on CT-15, and the good folks at Wheeler patched her up as good as new. the car looks amazing, the paint finish glistens, and damage to my front end is restored to good as new. very friendly professional service overall and would highly recommend them for future autobody work.

My truck broke down on 91 north. I immediately looked for towing companies in the area. I found Wheelers online and called them. They were there within 25 minutes to tow my box truck which I use everyday for work. I explained to them that I need repaired asap or else I would need to rent a truck for work. Not only did they repair it within a day after the parts arrived they were in constant communication with me to let me know what was going on. I have never used them before but I will from now on. Paul and John were extremely helpful and made a difficult situation easy for me. Its nice to find a shop that actually cares about their customers.

Wheelers replaced my alternator when it died, and when I had issues with my gas pedal/throttle cable a week later, I brought it in and they cleaned it out/fixed the throttle cable right away without charge. I really appreciated their willingness to fit me in and quickly take care of a problem! I will definitely be returning if/when I have future car troubles.

So twice I have taken two different vehicles to Wheelers, the first time it was for a blown fuse, they found the problem, and took care of it, instead of making up a false diagnosis and overcharging me. I was surprised to say the least, an honest mechanic, I know an oxymoron. Then it happened again I took my vehicle in for a noise i heard coming from the front end, they told me they didnt hear the noise, instead of selling me a repair for the front end that Im sure could have been over 1000.00. They are definitely a place I would recommend, IF you are looking for a honest mechanic with good prices.Steve D

Classic auto repair scammers. Performed additional repairs on my car that I never authorized. Then lied about what they did. Put in a 7 year old compressor on my car and told me it was a brand new compressor from Nissan. Charged me for a new compressor and then charged me for 2 hours of labor. $800 to replace my 3 year old compressor that was working fine to my knowledge before the car got there. Anyone that knows anything about cars knows that it takes only a half hour to change out a compressor, at most. Should’ve cost $400 at most with a new OEM compressor with the labor. But you know they justified the cost by charging me for the labor to take the compressor out of the 7 year old car.What they didn’t know is that my father owned an auto body for 30 years ( I also called him to check if my concerns were valid)so I know a little bit about what some of these things should cost. I also know that when these places see a woman come in, they salivate thinking that they can pull a fast one on a woman that they think knows nothing about cars. When I made them aware of the fact that I knew a little bit about what should’ve happened and what this should’ve cost they were incredibly rude and claimed that I and my father had no clue what we were talking about. They ended up calling him (they didn’t believe me that my dad worked in this industry) and after my father questioned them as to why they would do work on a car without getting permissions to do so or why they would charge me labor to take a part out of the old car or why it took two hours to replace the compressor or why they charged double what it normally would to replace a compressor, they told my father that they didn’t want to leave me stranded on the side of the road. My father naturally questioned that seeing as I showed up there in a rental car and wouldn’t have been stranded anywhere. They eventually relented once I told them that I would take them to small claims court. They refunded us $200 so I still overpaid. STAY AWAY!!!

They are a bunch of crooks that had stolen my car a couple years ago. My car got a flat tire during a snowstorm and I parked it in a parking lot that my girlfriend had worked at when I went back the next day the car was gone and the owner of the business told me that wheelers had towed my car away no big deal or so I thought when I called wheelers to pay them for the toe they told me my car was under snow in a parking lot somewhere in New Haven that they had told it there because they had no space at their lot to call back in a week or two I called every single day for 3 weeks and they told me to be patient every day after a month went by I got a letter in the mail telling me wheelers owns my car legally because I had abandoned it. I called them to freak out and they told me the car was already destroyed at the junkyard and I asked about the belongings inside and they told me they dont know I had a bookbag in the car with a lot of personal stuff jewelry stuff that was given to me from relatives when I was a kid and they kept everything so in my opinion they are a bunch of crooks they will always be Crooks and their company is built buy a bunch of crooks

On a lonely dark stretch of CT 15 at 3 AM, my vehicle broke down. I was terrified, feeling very unsafe in a extremely narrow breakdown lane. A quick Google search turned up Wheelers Auto. Seven minutes after my phone call, the tow truck showed up. I was greeted by a a extremely friendly, clean-cut young man. When he approached my vehicle, he identified himself as Angel. He immediately requested that I get into his tow truck, stating that standing on the side of the highway would be unsafe. To my surprise, The tow truck was extremely clean, and appeared to be brand-new. Uncertain on where I would have the vehicle towed, I allowed him to tow it to their lot.The following morning I called the garage that I usually use, and they quoted me a price for the repair based on what I stated. When I called Wheelers to have the vehicle towed to the repair shop, and extremely friendly man named Mike told me that they also make repairs on location. I agreed to let them take a look at my vehicle. When I receive the phone call back, their price was a few hundred dollars less than my normal mechanic. The best thing I could say about Wheelers is that they seemed appreciative to have my business, whereas most places act like theyre doing you a favor.When I picked up my vehicle, I met the owner John, he was extremely friendly and professional, Not to mention very knowledgeable. I have since started bringing all my vehicles there. They are by far the most friendly, courteous and reasonably priced garage that I have encountered! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of towing or mechanic work.Five stars does not even start to do them justice, they are deserving of 10 stars at the least! Do yourself a favor and call Wheelers with any and all of your automotive needs.

Very poor customer service. My 18 year old daughter was stranded with a busted radiator hose at college today. It was her very first experience dealing with a broken down vehicle and with a towing service. The driver was rude, unhelpful and mean . She was unsure of the ins and outs of how towing worked and was trying to reach me at work while trying to talk to him and he was impatient and unhelpful.

Daughter’s Jeep broke down in area and they towed in to fix. Worked with me, her and Jeep to find lowest price option. Took responsibility and fixed another issue that came up later - will trust them with the car in future and strongly recommend them.

Dont let john touch your engine. Took over 1 year to rebuild engine. Dropped off engine in car for him to break in. He took 1 moth to reseal intake and replace lifters and break in again. Went to pick up car and he had a tow truck driver let us in and turns out the car was not running any more. Found pick up in distributer was shot. Fixed that fired up engine. Timing wasnt set or distributer tight. Fixed all of that. Drove the car for less than 100 miles before first failure. He used stock 3/8 studs which broke. Another pushrod bent. He used 1.65 rockers without machining head for clearance so the pushrods were rubbing. Fixed that then found low oil pressure when hot and pulled engine out again and found a rod bearing was shot. They are all probably shot seeing as first one pulled was. He does not respond anymore.

Terrible!!!!! Overcharged me for a tow and driver veamitly denied doing so also he refused to show me a receipt with my listed tow fees till after I had payed him.They are rude, obnoxious and disrespectful people. Check your receipt and thier math, they WILL try to Rip you off

Towed my car 57 miles all the while sparking and when informed of problem they offered no solution. Now I am car less. Thanks wheelers
