Very good ice cream, but a little pricey (over $5 for a small). They have a wide variety to choose from, although this place can get crowded in the evenings and they run out of fan favorites fast. Wide selection of both hard and soft ice cream with a variety of seasonal options (blueberry, peach, pumpkin, etc.) i got the banana oreo since they were out of a lot but i was not disappointed.

We got an ice cream cake here for our sons party, after our friend recommended it, and it did not disappoint!! First, the cake was gorgeous!! It surprised so many of our friends that it was an icecream cake because of its beauty. And secondly, the cake was delicious. Fudge and crunchies scattered throughout, with a thin sponge cake. Lets just say it was REALLY good. You can tell a lot of heart and years of talent went into it. The young girls working were also very sweet. Thank you!!

Royal Crown has some of the best ice cream in the area. From their chocolate and vanilla custard to their homemade ice cream. The seasonal strawberry custard is delicious as well.I know the blueberry custard is popular and myself and both of my daughters tried it recently after stopping in and seeing so many customers getting it. All three of us didnt care for it. We all thought it oddly tasted like it had a pumpkin spice flavor which overshadowed any alleged blueberry flavor.

It was nice to see a place that is still in business since 1953.. the custard was good only draw back was it was not clean the tables were sticky n dirty. No garbage pails to throw away your cup, spoon n napkins there were napkins on the floor n the floor needed to be washed. But the custard was good.

I dont live near here, but I drove 22 miles to try this ice cream, because I heard very good things about it. And it was great. The most creamy ice cream I have ever had . And I am 58. I have had a lot of ice cream.

Its alway a summer tradition to visit Royal Crown. Theyre Blueberry custard is one of my favorites. It reminds me of Blueberry cobbler. But you cant go wrong with what you get. If its hand dipped, a milkshake or there Blueberry sundae

This place is awesome! Homemade ice cream, home made gelato,lots of flavors of custards blueberry is delicious but orange vanilla is banging! And great cheese steaks etc. Easy to get to!

Although you will sometimes have to wait in A-line it is definitely worth it. The food is great and the custard Is amazing. Also their wide selection of flavors and the different kinds of Sundaes you can get make it all the better. I highly recommend going here once you go once you will keep coming back.

Amazing home made ice cream! I ordered the pumpkin flavored soft serve and it knocked my socks off! 😆 It is seasonal so definitely get it when you see it! It tastes exactly like a pumpkin pie, not spicy at all 👌

I use to come here a lot with my family but after my experience on Fathers Day weekend my family and tons of my friends will never go there now. First of all she gave me the wrong ice cream then she charged me 16 bux for 2 cones. Since it was a festiv weekend I didnt want to argue in front of my family over icecream. I asked my friend who has a lighter complexion to order the same thing he paid almost 10 bux the very next day this is why they dont post thier prices .SAME CASHIER too!! Be careful !!!!!

Royale Crown rules. The blueberry soft serve tastes better than blueberry pie. Ive tried probably a dozen different flavors of the hand scooped and the next time I have one that isnt incredible will be the first.This was the semi-ridiculous trip we had to take while my wife was pregnant. 40 minutes, past at least five other ice cream shops. Worth it every time.

Two of my kids get a RC ice cream cake for their birthdays every year. Their homemade ice cream cannot be beat, but don’t neglect the meals and appetizers. The sandwiches (we especially love the hot veggie sub and homemade veggie burger) and the sides (sweet potato fries, fried cauliflower, etc.) are really good too. The chocolate ice is always a favorite for those who are chocolate purists. Thanks to Sharon, Regina, Lou, and the whole family for keeping it up for all of us.

Ok ok i see all these comments about poor service and bad ice cream and i just had to come on here and write a review to clear the air. This place is the best around. the blueberry ice cream is certainly not all cinnamon as one person claimed.... that actually absurd! i adore their ice cream, especially the blueberry and cream which has a HINT of cinnamon and a wonderful blueberry flavor. Do yourself a favor and find out for yourself how great this place is. its worth the long line if there is one.

I called to make sure that they had blueberry ice cream, they did. My husband and I got in the car and drove the HOUR down there. Ordered my soft serve blueberry ice cream, no problem, they of course took my money. At the pickup window, they call out the person in front of me and tell them they have no hard blueberry ice cream left and did they want soft, of course they did! Thats why people drive down there! My order comes up and they all of a sudden have no soft or hard blueberry ice cream!!! That is why we drove down there!!! They gave me some sweet cream blueberry ice cream that was not at all what I wanted. As Im sitting at the table eating what I dont want at all, I see a guy walk away with a blueberry soft serve, NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES AFTER THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NONE!! I guess they made more, but NEVER offered me to wait or my money back! I will NEVER go back there again, and I will be sure to let everyone I know about your deceitful business!

My wife and I drove from almost an hour away for their renown blueberry ice cream. After ordering and paying, when it was our turn to pick up, we were told they were out of soft serve. Offered a sweet cream and blueberries. Sounded close enough. Wrong. Even worse, 15 minutes after we received our order, another customer had ordered the same product my wife was told they were out of. To our surprise, he received his order. Other than that bad experience, seemed like a decent on your way to the shore ice cream shop.

Always passed this place, but heard so much good about it. Well, it lived up to its reputation!! Went for cheesesteak hoagie specifically and the homemade ice cream. Both were some of the best weve ever had. We split the regular cheesesteak, its that filling!! The only suggestion we would make is to put the cheese on while its cooking on the flat top...philly style. Cheese on top didnt take away from its deliciousness!! The zesty curly fries were a welcome addition too. Again, we split them and there were some left!! For dessert, we had single servings of pumpkin and peach custard! Believe both are seasonal...so us get them now folks!! Very tasty...the pumpkin tasted just like a pie!! Happy to say the prices are reasonable too. We wont be passing this gastro gem anymore 😉 (Pic is half of whole sandwich)

Fabulous ice cream !!! probably the best Ive ever tasted, and I am quite the ice cream enthusiast. personally I recommend the chocolate oreo. the hotdogs and burgers are also tasty. indoor and outdoor seating is nice and there is an indoor and outdoor bathroom. highly recommend

Waited In line on my moms birthday with the whole family. Ordered 6 ice cream cones at 6:26 pm. Received one ice cream about 10 minutes later. At 7:17 pm I had still not received the remaining 5 ice creams, and was told “things are being done differently now” and that it wasn’t their fault that the many customers Who had arrived after us received their orders. The manager was not apologetic and gave us a hard time about asking for a refund. Awful service and we will never come here again. Nasty people working there.

This place came highly recommended. I was disappointed that they didnt have the blueberry ice cream or a web site that tells you what they have each day. We drive 30 minutes because this place came so highly recommended and the ice cream was good but the service was not. They offer sundaes and milkshakes but they only have the ice cream flavors listed on the window. I understand we can not go in because of covid but you need to advertise what you have and the prices. Also, my daughter ordered ice cream with whipcream and a cherry and she didnt get the whip or the cherry and when i said something, the girl said she couldnt take it back to add it. I understand that so then make a new one? I paid the extra for the whip and cherry and we never received it. I may give this place a second chance only because the ice cream was good.

The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the seasonal hard ice cream is 1 of a kind. Besides that the service is horrendous. I have been twice this year, and both times 45 plus minutes. This past Sunday I decided to start a stopwatch and it took 23 mins until I ordered. Then waited another 22 mins until I received my ice cream. I ordered 2 different flavors and got 2 of the same thing! Its a pure shame because they could easily sell 2 to 3x the amount of ice cream they currently sell. A great product but a terrible business model. I bet the owner would love to see twice or triple the sales, but apparently that doesnt matter to them.

I ordered an icecream cake for my sons 19th Birthday, who dosent like chocolate ice cream, so I ordered the cake with all vanilla icecream. When we cut the cake it was chocolate and vanilla icecream. I called and spoke to one of the owners and told him what happened. He said that the person who took the order would never make a mistake and proceeded to ask me what I was looking to get out of it and was I looking for some kind of deal. First of all everybody makes mistakes, I havent met a perfect person yet. You were VERY RUDE!!!! VERY IGNORANT!!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!! and all I was looking for was an apology. COULDNT EVEN GET THAT!!!!! I have been getting cakes from here for 25 years and we live 45 minutes away. Never Again!!!Heres some advice for you, be nice to your customers because they are the ones who keep you in business.

I recently visited this ice cream place, that was highly recommended and literally down the street from our home. My wife always raged about it. I brought my wife and 2 kids, to get ice cream here ad experienced the worst customer service ever. The young girl was unfriendly and looked mad. We were so excited, especially the kids, and she really ruined our experience. The ice cream was nothing to die for either. Nothing that I got seemed fresh. I would never visit again. Please if your are serving or you work in retail be friendly, we are paying for what we are asking for. It’s not hard to be kind.

There is a long wait on line because the place I very busy, but the end result is it is well worth the wait! The quality is second to none. Highly recommended

This place has amazing cheesesteaks! Also it has great ice cream. Personally Id recommend sticking with the custard thats appropriate with the time of the season. For instance, blueberry, orange and vanilla (twisted together), and pumpkin custard. These are seasonal options that dont last the whole time Royale Crown is open that season, the custard switches around.

I went to a baby shower there. It was great, a private room, servers, nice room. Homemade waffles, with toppings, eggs, sausage, creamed chipped beef. Drinks, good coffee. Then a pretty Ive cream cake made there . It was very nice.

Fantastic sandwiches, but there homemade ice cream is the best. Blueberry, blackberry, their pistachio graziano is amazing. The food is all made to order. If you do not call your order in, please be patient. But well worth the wait. You will not be disappointed!

Not sure what all the hoopla is over the blueberry custard. At $7.50 a cone I was not impressed.

Google said they were open until 10:30 on Sunday night. We drove 20 minutes to get there, but they had closed at 10. On the way home, I called at 10:15 to let them know about the error which may or may not have been their fault. The woman who answered told me, “Well Google is wrong, we’re closed. Goodbye.” A better answer might have been, “I’m not sure why Google says that, we close at 10. I’m really sorry you drove all that way”.Our other experience earlier this year was wonderful. Great product and service on opening day.

The only complaint you may have about this place is it its always jam-packed. They offer a variety of soft serve and homemade dipped ice cream reasonably priced with friendly service plenty of parking. When its warm out expect the long line

Have come here since I was a kid. Still stop every visit even though we now live in Florida. The best soft serve icecream!! If you havent been there I highly recommend it.

I visit Royal Crown once a year in July when visiting family. Normally our visit is a pleasent one; but today turned me off from this place permanently. We got our ice cream, and was enjoying it, when suddenly I felt something metallic in my mouth. Fortunately I did not swallow it, because when I spat the object out, I discovered that it was a small washer. I brought the ice cream and washer up to the counter and told the person who served me what happened. Her response was, oh Ill get you another one. No apology of any kind!! I told her that I didnt want another one, I want a refund. She asked for the washer so she can show it to her boss. Moments later her supervisor comes out and informs me that they do not have any washer like the one that was supposedly in my ice cream anywhere in his shop. It was obvious to me that he did not believe a word i was saying. Trying to remain calm and not cause a scene, I told him that I have no reason to lie about something potentially dangerous like this. After several minutes of going back and forth with this unprofessional so called supervisor, I received from him, a full refund without an apology. A word to the wise, CHECK YOUR ICE CREAM THOROUGHLY BEFORE SWALLOWING IT.

Ice cream is the best around but... Lines are too long, trying to get food here is a nightmare. They never answer the phone to place orders and then when u finally get through u get there to pick up food and wait forever again. Its terribly hectic back there, not enough room for all those people and apparently the kitchen isnt equipped to handle dinner time. Open up that room that just sits there and make this place bigger!!!!

Impressively appalling customer service from the owner himself. A simple mistake was made on a birthday cake order. The owner was incapable of a simple apology and instead attempted to lie/deny the mistake by suggesting the request was never made. When I informed him I read the ticket at the time of sale, which clearly noted the request, he pompously said, Well I made 70 cakes today, so I am doing something right. Royale Crown could care less about their customers; theyre only interested in numbers.

Most natural tasting custards since made from real fruits in season. Hard to choose a favorite since even the ice cream and water ices are so delicious. We drive all the way from Blackwood to enjoy these treats.

Royal Crown has some excellent home made ice cream. Ive never had the soft serve, but the hard dip I can attest is excellent. Pistachio Gratziano is a personal favorite. Real pistachios with a bing cherry flavor. Prices are reasonable. Lines can be long. Others rave about the food, we found it unremarkable. Go for the ice cream!

Good food, good icecream BUT...rarely answer the phone, forcing you to waste time driving there and ordering. I understand being busy but could someone answer the damn phone? My record is 4 calls without an answer. Now I call twice, if no answer then I order sandwiches from Corrados. BTW this isnt a one time occurence, happens all of the time.

Have always loved this place, but last year I noticed how dirty this place has gotten. Decided to give it a go this year and guess what, the same dirt and grime was never cleaned from the previous year. The floors are beyond filthy, ice cases are dirty. If thats their version of a clean I dont want to know what it looks like in the back where they cook. It cant be good. Probably wouldnt pass if inspected.
