My favorite GameStop to go the manager Garrett is nice and a great listener and fun to talk with definitely recommend this GameStop .honestly if you are having a problem with this GameStop it’s probably a personal problem

I gave them 2 stars only because the associate was nice, but I went to return a game that didn’t work, was told since it had been 2 weeks I couldn’t get a refund so I had to find something to exchange, there were literally only 7 games to choose from all way cheaper and not great but my son chose 2 and got a stuffed animal to make up the difference, we got home for him to be excited to play as he opened the case there was no disc inside, no disc in the second one either and they are now closed, so now he is really bummed because his Saturday night pizza and gaming is ruined again for the 2nd weekend because of our purchases at that GameStop!!! Get it together guys! Maybe if the worker that started helping us would have finished instead of punching out and staying behind the counter talking to the associate that took over this wouldn’t have happened!!

They dont answer the phone. Cant keep controllers in Stock.

Manager often leaves store whenever they feel like it leaving customers waiting for 30+ mins to shop. Staff are extremely rude and very unprofessional. The fact the area manager doesnt care does not surprise me. Very poor management and leadership here. I wish I could give 0 stars. Cant wait for this location to close and shut down for their poor managerial system.

All the staffs are nice except for one african american staff member who I found to be quite rude when I asked him about the return policy. Would go to every other GameStop but here!!!

Has great products such as games, toys, and gadgets. Even though they are kinda expensive, they sometimes do clearances.

Im glad theres a gamestop in hamtramck at least theres games and consoles anything you could mostly want the people who work in there seem like they care about theyre work and at least making me comfortable coming back to shop here again!

Best friends GameStop staff by far in the entire district, I should say even in the entire franchise if people believe me.AJ is the store manager and Mia her assistant manager are the backbone of this location. Would wait on my favorite game or console if they are out if stock and wait until they get it. Thats how good of a staff they are and I hear that from people in the community as well. Keep up the good work ladies.

This is the location I frequent most often in order to buy video games and while the selection is not the most broad, the staff are consistently helpful with title selection in a way that is informative and thorough without feeling patronizing. They also keep customers abreast of sales and deals!

The store was a Good send ! I found the gift I was looking for on sell the famous Xbox one after looking everywhere and being turned down even on line I found it! Thanks for having this one last gift Merry Christmas to my son!

AJ the new store manager is very cool. I really like how friendly she is and how helpful she is in the store and to the guest. I am a frequent customer and I never have a problem when AJ is in store. She even makes sure the guest are aware that they can save money where possible. Overall I have a great experience every visit.

I bought batman arkam on may 27th, the disc would not read at all, it was very scratched. But I took it back with no receipt and the just exchanged it with no fuss. Thanx

This is by far my favorite GameStop I go to. The experience I get everytime I go makes me want to come back. All the staff are very respectful and know what their doing and always very helpful, in particular AJ. She is very professional and takes the extra time to explain any questions I have. Im very picky with anything I buy and Ive always felt comfortable asking anything. If you want to go to a place where you feel very welcomed every time you go, this the place.

Its a pleasure having this store in our community. I always take my kids to get all their video game equipment from this store. I was there last week and I dont usually leave reviews, but the the assistant manager over there and the manager nameed AJ delivered a 5 star customer service experience. I went again today just to see what they have and even though I didnt buy anything, these 2 same ladies were there and made me feel very valuable and I appreciate them very much. Thank you for your commitment and integrity for your jobs and customers.

Came to this GameStop with the idea of buying a Playstation 4 Pro! Guess what I was told the moment I hit the entrance? They do not accept credit card nor debit card purchases because their internet service is down! Word!? And yet you didnt close up shop!? If youre like me and dont carry more than thirty bucks in your wallet because you use futuristic tools like credit cards and debit cards to make purchases. Then, dont risk wasting your time at this Hamtramck, MI 48212 location. And also, its one of the smallest GameStops in the metro Detroit area. Feels more like an old VCR rental shop than a GameStop! Venture inside if you want the nostalgia of pretending youre renting your favorite 80s movie again.

This is the absolute worst gamestop I have ever been to for so many reasons. The most recent example occurred today when I called them to hold a game for me. It took about 5 attempts before they even decided to pick up their phone, even though there was about 5 people working when I went in and at least two of them were doing absolutely nothing. When someone finally answered I asked if he would be able to hold a game for me. He obliged and said it would be waiting when I got there and hurriedly hung up. So I drove a half an hour in traffic to this gamestop in one of the worst areas around because I wanted this game, which was unavailable anywhere else. I got there, paid the meter, and went inside and waited in line. The guy who worked on me, Ben, was the same person who took my phone call. I asked for the game that I had just asked them to hold a half an hour earlier and he looked around for it with no success. So he asked his co-worker, who unapologetically claimed to have sold it about five minutes earlier. So Ben looked at me and said, yeah sorry I guess we sold it even though he had promised to save it for me literally a half hour earlier. He offered no solutions and made no attempt to rectify the situation at all. I then told him that I had driven a half hour and that it was going to take 45 minutes to get home because I had to drive through Detroit in rush hour. He then claimed that he told me on the phone that he would try to hold it which was a blatant and underhanded lie. I would never have even bothered to drive up if I knew that all they were going to do was try to hold it because that doesnt mean anything and it absolves them of any responsibility if I get there and they dont have it. After this second lie he proceeded to offer no solutions other than to sell me a new copy of the game at full price. So I said no to that non-solution and offered several sensible solutions, such as selling me the new copy for the used price. This was much too much for old Ben though and he shot that solution down before I could even finish suggesting it, even though at least two other gamestops that Ive been to managed to rectify situations such as this by doing exactly this. So, realizing that I would receive nothing but lies and excuses, I told him that I would need a phone number to call to file a complaint about this ridiculous disservice. He then told me to go online in order to find it instead of finding it himself, as he should have. I even had to ask him his name because he had it, probably purposely, covered up on his nametag. I had to light a fire under him to do literally everything that he should have offered to do and he still refused to acknowledge the fact that he lied to me and caused me such an inconvenience. Never have I ever been treated so poorly in any retail-related situation. I realize that these people are young and they dont care about their jobs, but even taking that into account it was still appalling to be treated like this in a service-oriented setting. Everyone that works there is awful too, not just Ben. In fact, every time I have been there they try to sneak in the disc protection for an extra $5 and I have to make them take it off before I put in my credit card or else I wont ever get that money back. I am not a complainer and I have never written a review after being treated poorly at gamestop or any other retailer, but this was simply unacceptable. Im sure that continuing to work for gamestop is a much worse fate for little Ben than getting fired but thats just not fair to the customers. I have complained to corporate and I hope that corrective action is taken swiftly because the entire company suffers when they keep employees like Ben around and gamestop needs to realize that. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this gamestop, not just because your chances of getting stabbed rise exponentially with every visit, but because employees like Ben will make sure that your experience is miserable and incompetently mishandled. And Ben, if youre reading this, I hate your guts.

Terrible customer services! Terrible trade ins. I almost traded in my nintendo 3ds and they offered me ONLY 30$ bucks for it. I got ripped of many times here as a kid. I order my stuff online now, much easier to deal with than these people.

I shop at Game Stop all the time but due to the professionalism offered from AJ, the magaer, and the enthusiasm that Mia puts out made this my Game Stop that I will give my money too no matter the circumstances. When I walk in to this Hamtramck location, and we all can distinguish that unique GameStop scent, just makes me feel at home. From management all the way down to part time sales reps, they are allvery professional and full of enthusiasm which is huge in retail. Love shopping here and putting in preorders to help support my local Hamtramck GameStop.

Ordered something from the website to be picked up in store. When I got there they told me they didn’t have the item and my order was canceled. Tried to call the store when I got home to speak to the manager and they put me on hold and left me left me there.
