I was having a rough day. My battery went complete, to the point it was smoking and melting the terminal away on a Friday afternoon. I have AAA and the battery service they offer couldnt do anything with it. I needed a tow. I tried my own local garages (Im a commuter to Harrisburg), and it was 2 weeks wait everywhere. AAA suggested Harkins to me. I give them a call, and they were able to hook me up the same day! Not only that, but after waiting 2.5 hours on a tow, and a friend getting me to Harkins, Rick went and got my car himself and fixed me up and got me home. Not only did they save my day, their character is top notch! They offered me donuts while I waited, and Ricks grandkids were visiting and were a pure delight. They were so talkative and made my time waiting fly by. They made me feel part of the family for an afternoon and totally changed the vibe of my day! It was so refreshing to see a friendly business, family-oriented, and top notch, speedy, same day service. I will forever recommend them and try to take my repairs to them. They performed well on everything that Ive asked for and the labor cost was about average or better than other shops. First, the website is awesome. Provided enough information to make me feel they could possibly handle the job (timing chain Acura). They had an area for comments and replied the next day. Listened to my concerns regarding issues I had already been given in previous estimate. While they could not commit without actually evaluating vehicle, they gave enough information so I felt led to have my car towed to them. Evaluation was made and they called with the issue and what the solution would be..all concerns/questions answered and a complete detailed explanation was given as to what was necessary to do the work correctly and a rough estimate. After giving approval, Chris called back with exact estimate, date it would be completed. It had been down several mo and also needed inspection. All work was completed on time, Chris called after his test drive and gave full report and the gal at the desk took payment over phone and it was picked up over weekend by my daughters. Easy breezy! I never even saw the place but they have 3 new customers! Awesome price, work, service and total pleasant surprise! Thanks Harkins!!

I rarely rate 5 stars, but Harkins earned it. My dealer diagnosed a bad catalytic converter but their quote was crazy! I price and review shopped and went with Harkins. They communicated very well and the repair was completed on cost and time. 2 days later the same Check Engine Light came on. Harkins fit me back in, installed another cat. con. under warranty as well as a sensor which solved the problem. Honestly the car has never run better - so i suspect this sensor was bad all along but the dealer didnt catch it. The tech stayed in touch with me through the process and bent over backwards to get this resolved ASAP. You dont see customer service and courtesy like this very often.

I had a nail in my tire the day before I was supposed to leave for college. These guys got me in on no notice and have my tire patched up in a few hours. Cannot say enough about the quality of work and helping me out in a pinch.

I first called to get a estimate on a clutch for my 98 accord. Other shops where a few weeks out, but Rick and his team were able to get started from the first day it arrived and with a lower starting bid. Ricks team called me every step of the way and went over the repairs, including ones that they noticed not included in estimate. They went over the details of the extra repairs, and asked for permission before just doing the work. I was extremely satisfied with the time they were able to get it done. After going 6 months without my car, they had it done in 2 days. Thanks again.

I dropped my car off for an inspection and oil change for my most recent appointment the night before and Chris had it done within an hour that evening. The night before the day of the appointment! Dudes in here give a damn about the customer and Rick is a great guy. Couldn’t ask for a better place in a day and age where it’s tough to find a good mechanic.

I met Rick over the summer for our shared hobby of scuba diving. I just recently discovered that he had a service shop and the timing worked our perfect because I needed my inspection, emissions, and an oil change! I have gone to different service centers over the years from corporate chain owned to private owned but Rick and his crew did a great job and I will for sure be going back for any of my car needs! The service was done super fast and at a reasonable and affordable price (I’m still a student)! They are also pet friendly and let me bring my furry child! I definitely look forward to bringing my car back and also having Rick as a dive instructor this summer!

Dropped my vehicle off for an inspection. I was in no rush to get it back, but it was done fairly quickly. They have a computer for customers to use, which is nice if you need to print your documents or you dont have access to a computer/printer. Its a nice, small company Im happy to support!

My 04 F150 had been throwing a check engine light and have a serious loss of power made worse anytime the engine was loaded. I dropped of my truck the night before my appointment and before 10am the next morning I had an answer from the mechanics at Harkins Service Center. The mechanic took the time to tell me what was wrong with my truck. Then he presented me with multiple options for correcting the problem. He them gave me his reccomendation for what would be best for fixing the problem and ensuring that there is little chance of it reoccuring down the road. My truck needed to plugs, coils and probably a throttlebody cleaning. What really impressed me was when the mechanic told me that because the plugs were probably the OEM plugs that there was a high likelyhood that they would break trying to take them out. He also told me that he was not real comfortable doing the work that day because the other mechanic was out of the shop on vacation. I appreciated his honesty and forthought for not wanting me to be without my truck should the plugs break and not be able to be removed. He assured me that my truck would be ok with light driving in the mean time and rescheduled my follow up appointment on the spot. A few weeks later I dropped off my truck the night before and my noon the next day all the work was done and my truck is running great now. I am very impressed with the professionalism and service I recieved at Harkins Service Center. I recomend them highly and will definately be a repeat customer.

When I had a problem they couldnt fix because of the nature of my car they even directed me where I needed to go and it was great advice! Took my Volvo XC90 to Harkin’s for its 40k scheduled maintenance. The maintenance started as scheduled and just a short time later the work was complete, which included an oil change, brake flush, and few other minor things. Very happy with Harkin’s work and glad that he can service Volvo’s well!

Not many options in town for European vehicle maintenance other than the original Stealerships, which are required for recalls or major jobs, but dealers kill ya on routine maintenance. Anytime we have an issue or need regular maintenance they are there and their work is done honestly and timely.Once we had an issue with our truck after they had serviced it. We took it back in, they checked it and realized they had made a mistake. They fixed the problem at their expense since it was a mistake they had made. How many repair shops will even admit they made a mistake, let alone eating the cost of repairs themselves. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I had a project where I wanted to install the clutch and flywheel from a non-aspirated Supra into an IS300. Trying to find a mechanic willing to work on the project or a reasonably priced option was tough. Everyone at Harkins were patient listening to me explain the project and they were even willing to work on the project.I decided to go with Harkins and was surprised when they told me it would be done in a day. Dropped it off a couple days later at 0800 and picked up it by 1630. Clutch felt great and I appreciated the paper mat they put on the seat to protect the seats from the box of parts (I requested to keep the old parts in case the project didnt work).I would recommend Harkins. I was recommended to come here from Hannolds service center. Terrible recommendation. I came here for a misfire. They told me I needed to replace my entire engine. Went elsewhere, all I needed was fuel injectors, problem solved.
