I called 4 lumber yards to get pricing. Hartford Lumber came in at $2700.The other 3 came in at $1700-$1900. FOR THE EXACT SAME MATERIAL. Not sure if the sales guys are pocketing money or what but that is ridiculous. Make sure you call other yards!

I called Hartford Lumber to ask if they had something in stock- they did. Two days later I went there to make my purchase and was told that I should have called first to place my order (due to COVID-19) I said that I HAD called but wasnt told about the order ahead process. They were too busy to make an exception for me, despite their poor communication. Ill bring my business elsewhere.

I started using Hartford Lumber regularly about a year ago when I was looking for a specific item for a job. Rich (the owner) answered the phone and helped me figure out exactly what i needed and scheduled to have it delivered to the jobsite ahead of when I needed it. Ive worked with just about everyone in the office since then and all have been helpful and knowledgeable. They are willing to go above and beyond for their customers whether its a $500 order or $50,000 order someone is willing to help. Even on the rare occasion that there has been an error, these guys always do their best to make it right. Its a shame that there arent many businesses like this anymore.

I called her to asked her about my subfloor .I WAS SO NERVOUS. SHE TOLD ME IN A CALM,SOOTHING VOICE. HOW TO FIX IT.AND I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM THEM. I WAS SO BROKE STARTING A BUSINESS IN MY BASEMENT.I FELT A PEACE OF MIND THAT.IT WAS GONNA COST ME LESS, now I can get a door and upgrade on paint thank u. THE LADY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE😍

The staff is always incredibly helpful. I tried 84 lumber before I found Hartford Lumber and the difference in quality of service is astounding. No matter the size of the project, skip Lowes/Home Depot and go to Hartford Lumber.

I found Hartford Lumber in my search for a particular product, of which they were the only local vendor. I admittedly was hesitant about traveling into the city to get building materials, but it was a necessity to obtain said product. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly, and they have the best prices around on quality lumber and materials, as well as free delivery on many local routes when purchased in quantity. I ordered a list of items for a deck last week, and when they arrived, the driver and I realized that there were a couple of items that hadnt been shipped. The driver apologized and said hed fix it, but I was willing to wait, as I didnt need them for a couple of days. They went out of their way to make sure I received those items before the end of the day, even after my guys had gone home! I commend their efforts and will certainly be using their services for many more jobs in the future.

Expertise and knowledge, the quality of the lumber, cannot be found in the big box like you get at Hartord Lumber.

Great place to but your building supplies

Outstanding Customer Service! We visited Hartford Lumber and placed an order for some knotty pine ceiling planks. Something went wrong with the order and it wasnt delivered when expected. However, Hartford Lumber immediately rectified the problem by sourcing the lumber from a different supplier AND gave us a sizeable discount. The re-order was delivered promptly and we were able to keep our project on the original timeline. The sales and support staff were extremely pleasant to work with and truly bent over backward to solve the issue. They handle large orders for large customers but didnt make us feel inferior for having a small order. We will definitely be back for our next project.

Great service and a lot of products for a lumber yard

I was in search for a specific type of door that I wasnt able to find at Home Depot or Lowes. Staff was helpful, helped me get the door ordered and ready in a short time frame.
