The pros to visit were the following, it is a black-owned business, my hair was straightened, and she squeezed me in at the last minute. I compensated the hairstylist for doing so.The cons were the following,Her daughter detangles my hair from top to bottom. Hair is supposed to be detangled from the bottom of the hair to the top of the hair.The Aloe Vera treatment was a waste of money due to a thin layer of Aloe Vera applied to my hair. I could have done this treatment myself for free hadn’t I known the application would look different than the online videos.Her daughter attempted to blow dry my hair without sectioning my hair and blowed dried my hair from top to bottom. At this point, I had to stop her because it became too much to bear. The hairstylist asked her to stop so she could blow dry my hair. However, she did not do a better job. She rushed the blow drying process to the point I was sure my hair was damaged.My hair was smoking the whole pressing phase, which indicated she was burning my hair or the oils were not washed out. Also, she traced my hair with the flat iron two times.Recording the trimming of my hair without my consent and trimming the front of my hair that varied from the rest of my hair without my approval. The trim came out nice, but she should have asked me if I wanted my hair layered in the front. I do not want my hair layered at all. She would have known this hadn’t she asked before she cut my hair.I cut inches off my hair in May because I had heat damage from prior from a year ago. As of that day, I had a few pieces of heat-damaged hair in my head. As of today, I have heat danged throughout my hair in places I have never seen before.I attached a photo of some of the heat damage.

Flawless sew-ins with great prices. Only downside is the amount of costumers that make the day at the salon longer. But that should discourage you just about as much as a packed restaurant does. Its great, so people come 🙌🏽. For as long as I live in Ventura, CA i will continue to drive to Shay in LA!

First time Shay did my hair, and I am beyond words on how happy I am with my hair. I will be going nowhere else. After our first consultation, she hit the nail on the head on what I wanted, with a cool surprise.

I just wanted my money back money which she didnt even pay me back in full. Shes ok as long as you dont ask for a refund. My first visit I paid for my next visit with her because I was doin monthly service. At the end of my visit she said she put me down for the same time and for me to return on the 1st. Today is the first and I texted her before leaving just to make sure she was ready, because the first visit I was waiting a little while before she came to open her door. When I texted her she said she didnt have me down for today! She gave me other times to come but I have work and I just wanted my money back. She gave me 40 dollars back but it should have been a refund of 47 dollars. I just thought she was wrong and people should be aware of how she is when it come to refunding someone money.
