I brought in my 2002 Subaru and they were very honest with me when we discussed what was going on and if it was worth fixing or not. I appreciate that they didn’t pressure me and were straightforward with what was going on.I will definitely bring vehicles to them in the future.

I would give Lake City Auto Care more stars if I could because they went above and beyond to help us out. We are from Cheyenne Wyoming and are here on vacation when our Jeep had an issue in the morning. We tried every Jeep dealership within 100 miles and the best any of them could do was diagnose our Jeep (not fix it) by the end of the day. We went to Lake City and Ben helped us out by getting us in and out in under an hour. We would have paid any amount, but the price was very reasonable (less than the minimum the dealership wanted to just diagnose the problem) nd the Jeep is running like a champ! It is rare to see a company with compassion.

This business deserves 100 stars! During the heat wave around July 4th, my AC stopped working. It was horrible timing due to needing to pick up my disabled son from the airport. Lake City Auto loaned me a car for FREE, so we had a safe car to drive in the heat. When I got my car back, the AC worked perfectly and they charge a reasonable rate for the repair. Thank you to Lake City Auto for caring about your customers! Thank you for being honest, and providing quality service!

We were heading home to Oregon when the water pump went out, also ruining the Alternator. The auto parts store recommended Lake City Auto Care in Hayden. When we arrived, the pickup was spewing water. Chris, the manager, was very helpful. They were able to work us in, even though they had a full schedule. I was billed for the a/c service that did not fix the problem. Was told it would cost 450.00 for various hoses etc.Took the vehicle to a different servicer and the freon had not been replaced or even attempted, and it had nothing to do with hoses. Tge only issue was the air compressor, replaced for 1/2 the cost quoted.Felt this was very dishonest and would never return to this place.

What are the odds.I bought this F150 about 10 months ago and it has been running great until right around Christmas when my dad noticed a small oil leak. I took it here to lake city and they did a full inspection. They found my brake booster was leaking, water pump was leaking, rear axle seal was leaking, and the rear brake pads needed to be replaced. I thought to myself “get it all fixed now and you will have a great working truck again”. One week later I noticed oil on the ground in the same spot. Shop said it was rear main seal. I thought “that is just bad luck right there but we caught it so I will get it fixed” and the shop was great. Gave me a good deal on repairs and did it in a timely manner. One week later oil is now pooling up even more in the same spot. I take it to the shop and the seal wasn’t put on correctly. I thought accidents happen and had them fix it which they did under warranty. About a month goes by and guess what. Oil in the exact same area. Take it in and now they are saying it is the valve covers.I don’t know if the truck is just a pile. I don’t know if the work was even done right the first time. All I know is that auto repairs are all about trust and right now I have none in this shop.Always professional and very nice staff who tried to work with me on getting my truck fixed.

Had a water pump leak and then the radiator went bad. Then water pump again under warranty. These guys do a great job and take care of their customers.

Lake city auto care helped me with a pre buy inspection. I worked mainly with Jason, he was very professional and helpful. He coordinated with myself and the buyer of my vehicle to keep us both on the same page. They had my car back to me ahead of schedule and I was VERY impressed with their inspection list. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. Jason even stayed late to work up an additional quote for me. Will definitely be returning for future work.

My wife and I relocated to the Hayden area a little over a year ago. Finding a “new” shop that I can trust is difficult to be sure but Lake City Auto has proven to be top notch. I was out of state recently and my wife’s truck needed help. Chris not only kept in constant contact with my wife, showing extreme patience while she attempted to contact me while I was in sketchy cell service, he offered his personal help when my wife told him of a couple other mechanical failures at our home. Beyond this, the work and customer service offered by LCA has been outstanding! Definitely my shop!

I had been to Lake City Auto Care once before and the service was professional and the price was fair, so I took my Jaguar in for service there again. Again, I was very satisfied. They provided a free inspection report with photos of things that looked like they needed attention. I was grateful for that and will be going back to discuss these other issues.This is exactly the kind of auto care company I need so that I dont have to crawl around under the car looking for things that need attention. The whole experience here is always very nice. We’ve been coming here for two years now and we are always impressed with the service and professionalism of the staff. The waiting area is always clean (heated floors for winter!) and the beverages are great. Chris is always available with a smile and an encouraging word about your vehicle. Recommended by a friend. Have yet to pick my vehicle because they ordered the wrong party the first time around. Ok change is expensive, $49 for standard ( I would recommend Dave Smith for that only $29).Final stars will depend on how good of a job they did on repairs, total bill is over $900. ( All breaks)

Our family has used them multiple times and they have always been very professional, courteous and timely with their repairs. They always take the time to inspect the vehicles for any other possible problems but do not pressure you to have extra repairs done. Their work has always been done completely, and correctly. I feel good about dropping off a rig there for repairs. The only repair shop that I intend to go back to. They are very accommodating. 11 stars!

These guys transferred an engine from one vehicle to another for us. They even went and picked up (hauled) the bad vehicle that we were transferring the motor from, to their shop and that was included in their price. Which actually saved us towing fees. Had an oil change on the vehicle the engine was transferred into recently. Asked them to look for reason why whole left side of vehicle had no functioning lights for a spell. They found the ballasts were installed backwards and fixed the problem. Very friendly very professional folks.

We took our Bronco in with a list of problems. They were able to get us in to get it checked out on our next day off. They identified the issues and gave us a very reasonable quote. They were able to keep the vehicle and had everything fixed in a few days. Communication was great. Work was great. Timeline qas great. They now have customers for life!

These guys took 10 months to fix my car, for $900, I had to keep calling week after week to ask whats going on & they had different excuses every time. When I finally did get it back this month (it got dropped off August 2020) there was mold all over everything & my interior has been ruined because whatever they did with it all winter let water soak in. Everything literally has thick fuzzy mold. I complained & they said they would get it detailed, then returned it to me 2 weeks later not detailed & still covered I mold. Ive never had a worse experience with a mechanic & am astounded at the unprofessionalism. They are trying to say its my fault the jeep leaks but it has NEVER leaked or had mold before I brought it here.Edit, to the owner: the name is under my husbands, Jeremy Young. But Im sure you know that by now.

The service staff did a horrible job of explaining the work performed, what was found or not found. Actually, they explained nothing. I had to go back in and ask after not being able to decipher their work orderOf the two service desks in the office, one lady was on the phone the entire time. When she was alone she juggled between calls and desk customers. I never got the sense she was able to actually listen to anyone. Folks, don’t put someone with total phone responsibility at the front counter. Put them in a back office where they can concentrate on the phone. And put people in the front who are able to attend to walk in customers.The customer copies of your computer printout work orders are useless. They explain nothing in English being just a string of jargon and abbreviations. Since it is all canned information anyway, the least you can do is present the info in full, understandable sentences.You probably do really good work. You do a horrible job explaining it and building customer confidence.

Lake City Auto Care is fantastic. I went to yelp in search for auto care and sifted between those who had five stars. Not only did Lake City Auto Care have the best rates, they have excellent service! I brought in our 1997 Ford Clubwagon we bought from a friend last week and asked them to inspect it before a very long trip with 6 kids. I asked them to be thorough for I don’t want to be stranded in a desert. They said the car is in excellent shape and only needs the spare tire replaced that has dry rot on it. They have the best rate for the tire after getting quotes from all around town! The shop is very clean and pleasant if you need to wait. They are very hospitable with cold water and sodas available in the waiting area. They also have cars available for customers if your car is in the shop for a more time. I can’t say enough about this auto shop. They are fantastic!!!!!

I only bothered to leave this review for the simple fact that both service and the product of the labor went above and beyond what was expected. My vehicle has allowed me to continue my independence and came to me at both a convenient time and price. That said, like any car, it has it’s issues. With the current crisis I was hesitant to spend my resources, but finally I ran into battery and, worse, alternator issues. I feared my vehicle might finally be unviable to me financially. Thankfully, a boon of both labor and replacement parts was available, and considerations for my finances made, helping me to bear the burden during these hard times. I can only hope others can see that this business cares and is willing to extend itself the extra miles to those who need it, and that I, at the very least, am most grateful for it.

1st time customer and it will be my last.Two Primary Complaints:1. Very Poor Communication with the completion and results of a vehicle inspection.2. You will be charged one hour ($126/hr) for every item that you ask them for a quote to fix; They call it a diagnostic fee.Details:I had an appointment scheduled for 8am on Tuesday and dropped my vehicle off at that time.By 2pm, I still hadnt heard from them on how much it would cost to fix the 2 items I asked them to look at. After a couple attempts, I was able to get through to Scott at 2:30pm who told me the tech had just finished working on it. He provided a quick verbal summary.The first issue (loose steering) was fixed by tightening something loose, which was great! Charge for this $126 (1 hour of work)The second issue, (Loud knocking A/C compressor) was broken and needed replaced - Charge for this diagnosis $126. Scott said that he would put together a quote for the second issue and send it to me for review. (At this point, I didnt know about the diagnostic charges). The end of the day came and went. No call, no quotes. In 17 years of of working with shops, I had never encountered this one before. The next morning, I figured Scott would for sure be in touch with how much it would cost to fix. Nope.At 10am, i went to the shop to get it and that is when I learned that they would charge me $126 to tell me my knocking compressor was broken and EVEN THEN, Scott still didnt have a quote to FIX the blasted thing! They are clearly too busy for new customers. I paid the bill and on the way home, couldnt believe how much I felt robbed. I called Scott back up to discuss my frustration with the experience and he apologized for his poor communication but told me that he couldnt do anything to help me feel better about the situation (like removing or reducing the A/C diagnostic charge). He said that his tech spent an hour diagnosing the A/C compressor. Hence the charge. I am skeptical that 1 hour was spent diagnosing it...but if that is the case, what a waste of time and my money. I knew it was broken when I dropped it off! I wanted to know how much it would cost to fix and to fix it!I just moved to the area and was looking to find a local shop. I will keep looking. I called my go-to shop from where I moved from to get a quote. Their answer: $1100 to fix the A/C system. Scott gave up ~$1,100 and me coming back for future work over $126. Poor trade if you ask me.

I contacted Lake City Auto after my wife ran into issues with our Volkswagen. They where very helpful and friendly and even started the repair even after I told them I couldnt settle the account until my next paycheck. The mechanic contacted me and told me of a few other issues that would be a good idea to get done. There prices are very reasonable and the mechanics knowledgeable. After the repair was completed my wife picked up the vehicle and immediately noticed how smoothly it was running. We have an appointment scheduled for our other vehicle to come in for services.

I have known the original owners of this business for 20 years and for the past couple of years I have continued to do business with the new owner and his staff. The service and quality of workmanship has not changed one bit. It is consistently outstanding. The technicians have years of experience and have received top notch training. The service coordinator, Monica is smart, engaging, and knows her stuff. They have repaired a number of my vehicles and ALWAYS been cost effective and timely in getting whatever needed to be done, done. There have been occasions where they have come in way below the estimate. Because of the skills of their Techs in diagnosing the problem and the high ethical standards of the management team, I whole heartily recommend them.

Outstanding shop. They have great service. I dropped my rig off on a Wednesday explaining to them that I needed to be in Montana on Monday for work. Matty was very nice and helpful. Ryan was also awsome, he listened and took care of all that we talked about. Your charges were very reasonable, though our car has still got some issues, we were told about them and our options to care for them. Only negative is we still have a small leak dripping front driver side, seems to be same liquid as original leak. We will have to bring the car back in to have you look at that.

Excellent fast service! I took my 1998 F-150 in after another shop told me I needed a new intake manifold and quoted me $1,050.00 for the work. After Lake City looked at my truck they discovered is was a simple fix and I didnt need the intake manifold work done. I was out the door for $120.00! These guys are smart, honest, and helpful!

I recently had an experience with LCAC that shows their honesty and integrity. A year ago I took one of my vehicles to have the valve covers replaced. Recently I noticed an oil leak on my driveway and thought it might be coming from a valve cover. I took the vehicle in and they did the repair at no charge! They could have easily told me the leak was coming from somewhere else and made money on the repair, but they didnt.I take all my vehicles to LCAC. Chris, the Service Manager, and Ben, the owner, are great to work with.

These guys continue to amaze me! They make vehicle troubles a breeze and close to fun. :) I had issues with my trucks heater and they did a fantastic and quick job fixing it. My favorite thing is their loaner car option. As I live 30 minutes away, this is incredibly convienent. If you do need to wait, they have a very relaxed, comfy waiting room complete with complementary drinks. I cant say enough how friendly and helpful each team member is and I cant wait to visit again for future work.

Ive had Scot service the transmissions in a couple of cars in the past. I just found out that Lake City Transmission is doing all aspects of auto repairs.I recently stopped by three shops to ask about adding some high performance equipment to my 53 F100. Scott was the only guy that new what I wanted and had no problem letting me talk with his mechanic. We will be doing the work soon.I am confident it will turn out great. Very happy with the service received here. I got 3 quotes for the work and they came in lowest by a significant margin, not to mention the loaner rig that helped me out a lot. My SUV is running great again and the repair must have gone smoother than expected because they even knocked a few bucks off the final bill.

This place looks nice and offers free drinks while you wait. What they failed to mention was that my diagnostic appointment would cost me a whopping $221.00. And if a person doesnt have the money to pay for it then they will send them down the road without their car! Irregardless of disability or physical impairments! What they failed to mention might only set one back a few bucks, but if your total monthly income is Les than $1,000? Than it might put you into a serious bind. I give this place a big thumbs down!

Took my Chevy trailblazer in for a full transmission rebuild. The customer service I received from Scott was Excellent they even provided a loaner car at no extra charge. They had my vehicle back running in a quick time at a good price.

Clean office and waiting room, thorough service, took longer than expected, but the staff was gracious, and offered one of their loaner cars for me to pickup my son from school. Great experience overall.

He is clearly honest and wants business.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ultimately I was a little disappointed. I recently moved to town and was looking for a mechanic. I found a great deal online for an oil change, so I came in. The shop is big and nice and the customer waiting area is the nicest Ive seen. The staff were friendly and professional and they told me that my oil change would include a free courtesy inspection (my check engine light was on). I declined the fuel system cleaning repair they recommended, and they added a line item to the bill charging me $100 to read out and clear the error code (the light was still on when I drove away because I declined the repair). Im not dumb - I understand that mechanics need to be paid for their time, but I wish they would have told me upfront that the inspection wouldnt be free. It looks stupid to charge me $100 for something that I could have done in the parking lot at the auto parts store for free.

Needed a seal replaced in my transmission and they were recommended by my mechanic. Not only got the seal fixed but they checked the front end and eliminated some play that I was experiencing in the steering. Feels like a new truck and dont have leaks all over my driveway and garage.

I was told by another transmission shop that I needed a new transmission at a cost of $2700.00 and work on my sway bar for $225.00. A total of $2925.00. I went to Lake City Transmission for a second estimate. As it turned out I only needed a flush of my tranny fluid along with the repair of the sway bar and my total bill was $384.00. Lake City Transmission saved me $2541.00. That is incredible! Lake City Transmission is my new go to repair shop and I will absolutely tell all of my friends.

Lake City Transmission and muffler has done nothing but the best quality service I have ever experienced in the car maintenance and repair industry. I had a great experience at Lake City Auto Care. I was unable to drive my truck due to the differencial going out. They offered me one of their loaner cars before I could even have them look at my truck. My truck was looked at on a Wednesday and by Friday the repairs were made and I got my truck back in time to go on vacation the next day. I never got to meet Scott but had the greatest customer service over the phone. Just want to says thanks again for taking such good care of me and I will definitely recommend Lake City Auto Care to all of my friends and family.

After only 70,000 my re-built transmission began making a noise that it should not have. I made a recording of it (because I didnt want to drive my truck in that condition) and took it into Lake City Transmission and was treated with total indifference. Another Transmission Shop was recommended to me, so I took my truck there. The mechanic checked the transmission and discovered shoddy work which included using washers as spacers instead of using the correct part needed. Other discrepancies were also noted and documented. Long story short, I now have to pay to have my transmission re-built again, this time the right way. Do NOT take your vehicle to Lake City Transmission.

The quality of the work is always been first rate. I have been a customer for over 25 years. Honest, knowledgeable, fair and reliable. I have never had a failure from a transmission they have rebuilt and I run them hard, pull many trailers.

First of all, the free loaner service was a life saver as we had both of our vehicles in at the same time. Second, and most importantly, the staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Last, but not least, the total bill came in almost $400 below the original estimate!!!! I am extremely pleased and will be a loyal customer moving forward. A++++++

Spent over $3,000 to fix various oil leaks on my Mercedes Benz. Was told 2x that everything should be fine only to have continued oil leaks. On the last visit they supposedly patched a small leak then turned around and told me about 2 other leaks they had discovered......their European specialist had supposedly looked at it 2x before....I told Jason to email me the cost of repairs, but he never did...I was called about a week later to leave them feedback...I again asked for the email....they said they would email me....still no email. I dont understand why I was treated this way after repeated assurances my car was fixed when it wasnt. I feel ripped off.

They solved my issue on the same day and they charged me less than they initially quoted. Overall it was a satisfying customer experience.The work I had performed was relatively simple exhaust work; so, I cannot speak on behalf of a transmission service.

A tale of INTEGRITY!!! The rest of the story... the reason we’ll keep going back to Lake City Auto Care.During the summer and we might add the hottest week of the year...of course. LOL, our air conditioner stopped working. We called Lake City Auto Care because quite honestly they were close.The staff were able to get us in right away to diagnose the problem, order the parts and schedule a time to make the repair quickly.We were cool and happy in no time and at a competitive price (for some strange reason we couldn’t find a shop that would make the repair for free...weird).The story doesn’t end there. A couple of months later we got a call from the owner, Ben. Apparently during a routine shop cleaning a box was discovered with some brand new air conditioner parts in it. Our understanding is that every part is connected to the specific repair it was purchased for. Ben was able to determine that these parts were for our 2007 Honda Odyssey.Before you jump to a conclusion or get mad on our behalf about unethical shops or such please read this next paragraph.We of course were unaware that some of the pieces of the kit weren’t used. All we knew was the air conditioner worked and wasn’t that the point of taking our van in. Ben could have chosen to do nothing and we would probably have never known. Instead he did the RIGHT thing. Ben called us and explained what had happened and apologized for the mistake. He told us we paid for the parts and they should have been installed and asked us to schedule a time, at our convenience, to correct the error. That’s INTEGRITY.We’re not saying Lake City Auto Care won’t make mistakes, they are human after all, what we are saying is given the choice we’ll take our vehicles to a shop that will admit when they are responsible and will make it RIGHT!!!

They have worked on three of my vehicles now and I have always been satisfied with the service. I will continue to use Lake City for my vehicles. They always treat us well.
