Dino suffered through my fickle and long winded shoe shopping method like a champion customer service professional. One of the most easy-going and knowledgeable of his kind, he showed me almost two dozen pairs (plus back and forths) over the course of almost 3 hours without giving off the slightest air of impatience or irritation. Old school quality, old school service, and all-encompassing customer care. My hats off to The Cobblers. Hands down the best shopping experience Ive had in the last 20 years! Thanks again Dino!

As usual, they can fix a pair of largely destroyed Birkies - replace the cork and the sole, at a good price. Lots of lovely leather goods - shoes, of course (Birkies, SAS, Minnetonka, UGG...), tool belts, bags, etc. And leather cleaners and dye and oil and everything you could think of for tending leather. Its a fun place to browse and a great place to buy.

My son is huge and impossible to buy for. He got what he wanted here. Love this place.

I bought a pair of thigh high Zodiac silver tips and I still have them had them for 30 + years

They did a pretty good job fixing the zipper on my wifes boot. But, after I dropped off boots and called back to hear their opinion, the owner Rudy was very rude when I asked questions simply trying to understand the repairs and why they recommended them. He was telling me I could do this option or that option, but I was trying to ask questions to ascertain what he would do, using his experience to make sure I dont make any unnecessary repairs for my situation. He didnt like my questions and asked what type of work I did. Intrigued, I told him I was a manager for my recording artist wife. He seemed upset and said this repair was peanuts and hardly worth my time, indicating that the repair was such a low cost for a person of my profession that it shouldnt even matter. I thought this was ridiculous to say I shouldnt care about the price because of my profession. I was getting upset and almost hung up. I tried to be patient and explain why I ask questions. In the end the boots look good. Their quoted price was lower than the actual. Regarding Rudy, I think we had differences in opinion because of the generations between us. Hes about 80-90 years old and Im 28. He must be good at what he does since hes been in business for so long. I just did not like his attitude toward me, the customer .

Rudy is a classic! An institution on the Hayward scene. Hes fixed many a pair of shoes for me, as well as the occasional purse strap and even patched up a backpack for me. Ive always received exceptional customer service regardless of the size of the job. Its truly a family business, with multiple generations behind the counter, carrying on the tradition.

Shoes are the one thing in my wardrobe that I spend money on. So when I need my expensive shoes repaired, its good to know there is a reliable, experienced place to take them. I find their prices very reasonable, and the staff friendly and open to questions.
