Well stocked. Reasonable waiting times from purchase lines to completing purchase. Sufficient staff assistance. Excellent fast food take outs. And enough self service spots to offer a reasonable alternative to staffed checkout lines. Efficient pharmacy. Overall a good shopping experience.

Always a good store in itself. This Safeway in particular carries a better variety than the one up in the 580 marketplace location. I just wished theyd have more cashiers. But honestly, its not easy filling jobs these days. This is my main Safeway. Keep it up folks!

Awful awful awful customer service, messy store, and constant broken self check out machines. Got yelled at tonight by the old white woman with grey hair who was working the self check out area. She yelled at me and called me rude for raising my voice so she could hear me over my mask and then she turns around and starts (very obviously) badmouthing me to her coworker. When I tried to call later to get her name to report her to corporate, no one ever answers. So done with this location, its one bad experience after the other.

A courtesy call would have been appreciated to let me know that the job I applied for was no longer available. I wasted my gas and time driving over here for an interview only to be told that the position was no longer available. The manager tried giving me deli which is not what I applied for. Very unprofessional and horrible staff that dont show courtesy for peoples time. This tells me that the staff are not organized or reliable with their words.

This is one of the top-ranked Safeway stores in Hayward is a very well maintained and well kept store. its nice and its clean but what really gets me is the people who collect the carts on the parking lot just a WONDERFUL young man and he worked the 6pm shift, when you are done shopping he speaks to you he make sure that everything is well he takes your cart he tells you to have a good day hes so curious and friendly, you can appreciate spending your money there....I appreciate it...

I go here every couple of weeks, the weekend traffic can be a bit overwhelming but any day of the week is pretty relaxed. Way bigger with a nice variety of goods than I am used to. It would be nice for the store to have more employees especially during weekend rushes, for the benefit of the staff that is. Some times I feel pretty bad when there are a couple of clerks checking people out and there is 10+ people in any particular line. That aside I like this location.

I had not visited this Safeway in more than 15+ years. Move away from the area. I was happy to see that the service at Safeway was still top notch on this visit. My 102 yrs. Typical Safeway, pretty good but there are better grocery chains out there with better food and prices. Recently refreshed and pretty clean inside. It can get very busy, especially around 5-7PM. Long lines for checkout and the deli every time. They run out of stock for things I need occasionally, but I cant blame them for that knowing the sheer number of shoppers that come through this store every day.

Usually busy suprisingly if you go between 7-9 pm less people less the wait

Service was very bad today! One man left who was in line before me stating it is an exercise in patience. Roasted chicken was terrible! over cooked, tasted too salty and whole chicken had almost collapsed inward. Safeway needs to step up their game! Not good.

Staff harasses me for having a backpack full of reusable bags and then follows me around while Im shopping. they should assume good intent – Im not trying to steal groceries just trying to have a way to carry them home. doesnt make for a comfortable shopping experience. this is why I always go to another grocery store. at least they have a nice bike rack outside.

Decided to close 20 minutes early. Walked there in the rain and they wouldnt let me in. Posted hours said midnight and it was only 11:40. Stuck working all night so annoyed to not get a quick sandwich and drink.

It was early in the morning around 7:30ish and there were no cashiers available so I had to used the self check out. I found everything I was looking for.

Clean, well stocked, friendly, easy to navigate. I love this Safeway

Nice Safeway store. Big, clean, theyve made some nice changes with the layout of the checkstands for better social distancing, I think. Theres a Starbucks inside. And the strip center its located in has a little bit of everything. Good, easy parking.

I like this one.. compared to others it is pretty well updated and up kept. The store has a great kiosk for Starbucks coffee, if your too tired to walk across to the Starbucks store next door. The lines sometimes get tooooo long but thats normal I guess. And I am a fan of the sandwiches ya DIGnMe!Lol

I love the new renovations! It made the shopping experience more enjoyable. The staff is great at the self check out, but they should only allow that option for people with less than 15 items. People will have overflowing carts of groceries using self check out and then are slow or dont know how to use the technology. Its irritating especially when you only have a handful of items and the majority of your time is spent waiting in line because of the rude people that use self check out with well more than 15 items.

Clerk was amazing at the Starbucks inside! Doing the job of 2 or 3 people like a rock star!

It has almond milk and coconut yogurt (which of course are both non dairy) for those who are lactose intolerant. And a lot of non-dairy products. And animal supplies for those who have pets 😊 on and I usually get my medicine there and the pharmacy workers are really nice as well

They have a very helpful staff. You can always find parking, and the store is clean, and organized.

No body really bothered me here and I l I like that their bathrooms are not in the bathroom they have their own little area by their break room its kind of cool that you dont have to go and search the back room to find the bathroom and its by the meat department if you know what I mean

Omg, a Safeway store with great customer service! Give these people a big fat salary increase n please send the manager 2 the Alameda stores n train the people there! The department manager was incredibly helpful n even brought me a cart! The check out young woman was very nice n bagged the groceries. Ill have 2 go back n get their names n post it. Unexpected after shopping in Alameda stores 4 over 30 years.

The guy in the meat Dept. was pleasant & helpful. The price on the shrimp I wanted was 7.99 on the tag, he charged me $10. but changed it to 7.99 when I told him what the tag said. There was a fight that started in the store & moved outside & I think it was racially motivated. Ohhh! I was at the check out and forgot batteries so the lady told me to just go get them behind the lady working in the aisle. Im black & this white man in the line was watching me like it was his job! When I passed him he was examining my hands & I turned around he was still eye patrolling. Today is MLK day! I wish that man would change his heart & mind about black people. I know my radar is correct & he thoughtI might steal something, Im 60+ I have & still experience racial scrutiny every day! Anyhoo, I bought some flowers. I still feel hopeful for the future. A nice clean store. This store seems smaller and the aisles are narrower. During rush hour the check stand area is a mad house. Theres also a self check out area. Employees are helpful. Good neighborhood.

Like all the Safeway stores everything is well stocked. The virus has taken a toll on the friendliness of the workers but that might be due to the mask foolishness and the fact no one can see anyone smiling. This store actually hired a mask police security guard for awhile!

The store is clean. Decent meat department, and its a good shopping experience when there isnt too many missing items on the shelves. Too many people getting away with using the handicap parking that shouldnt be. The delli items sit out too long, and turn brownish. Ive been to many better Safeways. I classify this Safeway as slightly below average.

The Just 4 You rewards program is great and the everyday prices are low
