This company is a scam. Purchased a fence received poor quality wood. When I contacted the company about the issue the replaced the wood with the same poor quality wood. When I advised the owner I was not paying until the fence was repaired correctly he stated he would put a lien on my property. The pictures are after the repair my current fence condition.In response to the owner: I am not trying to take food off anyones table. and since you want to mention the $300 that was only because you offer a discount to military and police. that discount was given before the job was done. I have been more than patient with you to repair the fence after sending someone out a total of 5 times and my fence still looks like this. this is a company issue not a me issue. you said yourself you replaced over 100 boards which means the boards are bad. when I asked to just replace the whole fence your response was you dont build a house and tear it down. when i stated i was not going to pay until i it was done correctly your response was you will place a lien on my property. from the photos attached I am not trying to do anything but have my fence look like it is $4300 fence. and its not. if you know the wood quality is bad replace the wood and accept that you received bad wood. Thats all I asked in the first place you choose to make it go this far.

I rarely write reviews but I do believe this was worth addressing. My biggest complaint is towards the work done by the workers. Each time the workers completed part of the fencing, there would always be fence shavings on the ground. It didnt bother me at first until they were finishing up the other half of the fencing. While working at home I could feel the house vibrate and could hear that they were working right on the walls of my home. I assume that it is common sense not to use the owners home as a tool to assist cut fencing. Well I was completely wrong after checking on the fence after they left. They used the house to let the fencing sit on the side of the home and cut the fence. (I have received $100 off the invoice). It bothers me the most that the workers did not have any consideration for my home.Here are pictures of the side of the Home after the fence was completed and confirm by email that the workers did come back again and made sure everything was clean (There are more picture of the shaving in other areas). Nothing was cleaned or check and as you can see they left the gutter splash block away from the original spot for over a week.Scotty was great but the review is mainly towards the workers on how they built the fencing and their clean up? If you do go with volunteer I would recommend you watch the workers and manage them yourself to be assure that your home does not get damage. Although you may need to clean up the mess yourself when they finish their work.They are low staff but there is still no excuse on using a home owners home to cut fencing on the side.

I spent some time getting a few different quotes from other companies. Once I meet Scottie he made sure to answer each and every question I had concerning the property, labor, parts, and timeline. So personable and professional. Once I was scheduled the process went quickly. The crew was kind and efficient. It was a hot day but got the job done right and in a timely manner. I was so happy with the job I even gave out a referral. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We had a beautiful fence installed in 2020 by Volunteer. We had an aluminum fence in the front yard and a cedar table top in the back. The work was very high quality and they were able to schedule us quickly. We have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors. The turkeys are the only complaints we have received.

We had some miscommunications and the timeliness could have been better. I waited a while but it appears it was a manufacturing issue. However they did the best to make it right today. I appreciate that portion.

I worked with Kenny and his team at Volunteer Fence to put in a Black Aluminum Fence around my new house. Great communication, quick response time coming out to the property to survey and quote, and were able to install within a few weeks on the survey. Their team is amazing they had the fence finished within a couple hours of arriving. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to install a fence, they beat all of my other quotes by a long shot. My neighbors plan to use them as well after seeing ours and how efficiently they were able to install it.

First off, when they do the work, they do a great job. Quality craftsmanship. Unfortunately, getting them do finish the job is a problem. I have a 6’ vinyl privacy fence up that looks great but I do not have any gates or post caps yet. The fence was put up 3 weeks after I was told it was going to be the first time. I kept getting “The crew will be there tomorrow.” Once it was finally started, I was told they we’re going to set the posting day one and come back on day two to finish completely. They did not. It was almost a week later when they finally put the panels up. Then I was told, they would be back the next day to put the gates up and put the post caps on. The next day I was told that they were short material and would get it Monday so install would be Tuesday. That didn’t happen either. I called Wednesday for an update and never got a call back. I called Thursday and was told they would definitely be by the same day because the materials didn’t come in until Tuesday. At 4:00 pm on Thursday I called again just to make sure they were still coming so I would have a check ready. Again, I was told they would definitely get it done the same day. It is now 6:35 pm and I still have no gates or post caps. I understand that materials are in short supply right now. I do not fault the company for the delays because of that. My issue is with the communication. If I am paying for something I expect that it will be done when I am told it will be done. I also expect to be informed if there are going to be delays. Like I said, they do great work and the materials they use are top notch but they need to work on give customers realistic timelines. I’m sure that if I get a response from the company to this review, that it will be the standard “We’re sorry for the trouble and promise to do better next time.” I just hope that they actually do better with their next customers. Also, still no gates or post caps. I can’t put the dogs in the back yard with no gates!!! Please!!! Finish my fence so I can pay you!!!

The fence is good quality with proper installation. The customer service it terrible. I continue to await the completion of my fence, I do not have gates or post caps installed. The gates are sitting here waiting to be installed. So far the installation has spanned two weeks. There is no communication to the consumer! Use another vendor!!!Update... 2 months later I have been told three times that someone will come out to glue down the post caps. There has been no movement on this and no answer on the phone.

Volunteer fence did a great job on my fence. It looks awesome and I am very happy with it. They got me on the schedule very quick and the guys worked really hard on a miserably hot day to get it finished. Very pleased. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

Fence is great, but had some issues. Took more than one day to place fence, which isnt an issue. The issue was that we were told that they were going to come out on a certain day to finish, and never showed up. Also, the fence was over 3 inches off the ground in some spots. We explained we have small dogs and that they could fit underneath the fence. They said they could not fix this, but could place dirt around these areas. Well they never did! Happy to have a fence, but not happy with customer service

Just had a lovely fence installed. It was a difficult job, as a one side of the fencing had to navigate a steep uphill and a dense wooded area. The fence looks fabulous! High quality work and a fair price. I cant rate higher than 3 due to multiple requests to get missing post caps.They were on back order when fence was installed on April 22nd. I will just order on Amazon and pay for the caps myself.

They did a great job for me 4 or 5 yrs ago. Trying to get a hold of them to just get an estimate is apparently not possible. I have asked 3 times for someone to call me. I have called their number and left messages through estimate inquiry on website and no response other than someone will call me. They must be super busy and I certainly get that but doesnt change the fact that I have been trying for weeks. Not trying anymore and will need to get done by someone else unfortunately.

After fence installation had several problems which took along time to be addressed once tech came out not properly repaired last time took apart and used black screws to hold parts to repairs area with black screws and now gate mechanism not working.Very rude replay from Scotty and now told owner of company will be in contact with us. Just want proper repairs done and be done with this.

Highly recommend this local company!! The whole team worked diligently on the project and got it completed and it looks great!! They tore out my old fence, cleaned up the debris and built the new fence in a matter of days (would have been 2 days but we had lots of rain and they were respectful in not tearing up my property). When the fence was complete, I requested a second stop on my gate because we have high winds and they put that on too. My husband and I are very happy with Volunteer Fence. Our sales guy was very informative and gave us updates even on the weekend. We knew the material would take a couple of weeks to get in and the gates were a couple of days after our fence was installed.Every other company we called was way higher and even further out on installing.

If your expecting customer service, or to even have a call returned, or even attempt to be in contact with this company, dont hold your breath. They say things like, ill call you back in 10 min, 4 days later calling and calling no answer (full mail boxes always) and finally getting the phone answered to, ill have somone call you. It is by far the worst customer service I have encountered. They dont value their clients time or money. There is zero transparency on your order. Even waiting your estimated time, they will still quote you an addition 2-4 weeks. Buyer beware!!! The only reason this is more then one star is because the installers are on time, work hard, and they dont have any control of the customer service side, just execution. The installation deserves 5 stars for those hard workers.

I recently purchased a vinyl fence from Volunteer Fence and let me tell you how great of an experience it was. The day after I called for a quote I had a salesman show up to measure my yard and get to work on pricing. The next day I had a quote in my email and they even offered to help me out with my HOA application to approve the fence. After that was approved we scheduled a time that worked best for my busy schedule. They arrived the morning of the installation with smiling faces and got to work. The fence was almost completely installed in one day. The only thing missing was the gates. They explained to me how aluminum and vinyl fence gates are made custom for each job. They gave me a 3-4 day lead time on completeion of the gates but wouldnt you know they showed up a day early and had my fence complete ahead of schedule. This company is great and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great company to install your fence. I would like to think Scott for taking such good care of us. If you decide to go with Volunteer Fence make sure you ask for Scott and you will be in great hands!

I had a 6’ privacy fence installed 5/6 years ago. Almost every one of the fence posts are rotten and many have broken. I have emailed, called, left messages but no one responds.When we had issues with the posts previously they explained that they got a bad batch of posts. Since this is the case, they should replace all posts free of charge and not give us the run-around.After spending thousands of dollars to have a quality fence installed, I now have to spend thousands of dollars to fix what they have left me with. I am very dissatisfied with this company.

Last spring we hired Volunteer fence to enclose our backyard. They came out quickly and had the best price. The job was done in less than 2 days. It was amazing!HOWEVER- we quickly began experiencing problems. My husband contacted Sydney (the owner) multiple times with no return call. I called Sydney and left a voicemail inquiring about a fence and was called back within minutes. Twice. Each time Sydney promised to have someone come out and take a look.Its been months and numerous phone calls to Sydney. No apology, no one has come to check out the issues, and we are stuck with a dysfunctional fence.Save your sanity and spend a little more money with a better company. Volunteer fence will cash your check and never look back!

The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with in my life. When they say no job is to small they are lieing. I contacted them and got a quote for a 21 foot fence. The day they were supposed to come do the job they did not show up and they didnt bother to call. I tried for weeks to contact them. They do not answer their phone EVER. I would leave a voicemail, that is if the voicemailbox was not full and never get a response. I finally left a message asking if they had any intention of showing up or if I should get another company, to this day I have not heard a word from them. My advice is dont waste your time trying to deal with this very unprofessional business. I do not know how they stay in business!

He was not pushy, he was down to earth and very easy to talk to.The only installation delay was due to the rain but they were able to install my fence on the timeline I was promised.If you need a fence definitely consider this company. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO OF PUT PRESSURE TREATED POST AT PLACES OF GROUND CONTACT AND THEY DIDNT. THEY APPARENTLY GET THEIR POST FROM SOME LOCAL LUMBER YARD, VERY SOFT WOOD. NEEDLESS TO SAY, 18 MONTHS LATER, A THIRD OF THE POST ARE ROTTED IN THE GROUND AND SEVERAL HAVE ROTTED FROM THE TOP DOWN. YOU BETTER CHECK THE POST THEY ARE USING ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING PRESSURE TREATED POST. NO, I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

I had a fence installed at my new house and everything went smooth and fence looked good. The problem started when I needed them to come repair my fence 6 months afterwards. I spoke with the lady in the office 5 times and each time she assured me that their person who covers the Spring Hill area would contact me to get it scheduled. I NEVER received a return call, they have absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. After 2 weeks of trying to get a call back they stopped answering the phone altogether.... Needless to say, I had to hire another contractor to do the repairs. What an awful business model this company has....

Dont waste your time with these people. They dont call you back, they dont care if their work is below par because all they want is your money and could care less how your fence holds up. Hands down the worst customer service Ive ever dealt with. Theyre the worst business in Nashville area.

I ended up being referred to this company by another company I had gotten a quote from. They went into a different line of business. Volunteer Fence company came out within a few days to walk my property with me to verify what I wanted. They honored the first companies quote and were at my house putting my fence up immediately. The workers were nice, courteous, professional, and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and didn’t mess up my yard or anything!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get a fence.

Best fence company around!

So far, it’s not looking good. The communication is TERRIBLE. At the consultation, we set up an install date. They never showed and I had to call them to find out that they weren’t coming that day. Posts went in yesterday and fence was supposed to go up today. But that’s not how it’s going. After (again) waiting up for someone to show up, I had to call (again) to find out that they aren’t showing up today. Maybe tomorrow? I am a second shifter so getting up super early is difficult as it is. Not sure I’ll be recommending this company to my friends. I hope the quality of the fence at least is worth the lack of sleep and communication.UPDATE: I stand by my review that this company is the worst. I tried to contact them several times to no avail. FINALLY, in early April, someone emailed me and said theyd be able to come out to replace the bad panels that week. I responded with my number so we could arrange a day to come out. Surprise, surprise, I never heard from them again. It is now June and I am out a few thousand dollars, I have a shoddy fence that my dog could easily squeeze out of, and the warranty is a complete lie. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

This owners a real piece of work. He has no care about his work after its been installed. Ive been trying to get him out to my house for 2 months to look at my gate that is hanging. Ive given him my name and my address at least 4 times and still no one has come out or called me as promised. I called him again tonight frustrated and asked him what was going on and he acted like I never talk to me before. He said give me your address and Ill have somebody out there tomorrow. I told him I wasnt trying to be a hard case I was just frustrated on his lack of communication. He then said whats your address again? I said dont worry about it and he said good Im not and hung up on me.

They were able to come out on short notice after another company continued to delay for several weeks. They have the staff and the resources to tackle any project. The fence looks excellent and the price was competitive to all the other bids we received. I would use them again in a heart beat.

They did a great job and were very competitive on price. Weve had zero issues with our fence months later. They even put hog wire at the bottom of the fence so our dogs couldnt escape.... and they havent escaped yet!

Was able to get the gentleman out for the estimate, but have had no response to a followup phone call and two emails in the four days since he was here. I did finally receive a followup and was told that the flu had prevented a call/email. Weve now hired another company.

One of the worst companies Ive ever dealt with. One would think that you do this every day so you would use the property pins that are on my property not the markers that are on the bottom of a 10 wall behind your house marking your neighbors property. The company used the wrong property pins and therefore I lost a foot of property on both sides of my House. Then when I called the company they did not return the my call. I finally got ahold of someone. Within a minute into the conversation he had a really bad attitude, Swearing, and speaking to me very unprofessionally. I will Unfortunately have to get this resolved in court. I RECOMMEND STAYING FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

The company was pretty quick to get Cody out to take a look at my fence. The down side is that I have been waiting over a week for a quote and no one is answering their phone or returning phone calls.

Volunteer Fence Co is horrible! They are unprofessional getting back to you when you call them. They are always backed up in terms of repairs which by the way I have called them several times for repairs to my fence since they built the fence (the fence is just a year old). I would not recommend them to anyone who wants a fence built.

Quick response and easy to work with

After just 2 years of having the fence, we noticed the posts rotting at ground level. The wood they used was treated but for above ground purposes. Since it made it past their one year warranty, we were stuck footing the bill to replace all rotted posts.

I received a quote and have called twice as well as emailed a reply to their proposal to schedule the work to be done and no one responds. The customer service is very poor.

Highly recommend Volunteer Fence!

They are not a good company. I used them 4 years ago and they used bad wood which was already getting holes in it. I just paid to have all the boards replaced. I had called them to extend the fence a year ago and they blew me off. The place I used used much much better wood and does better work. Let the buyer beware. It was a blessing in disguise that they never did the other part of the fence. The company is apparently going downhill. I’ve not seen any of their fences. It’s also telling that they didn’t put their name on mine.
