Miami gun smith was amazing! The service was great, Robert really knows he’s stuff. I went in with a budget and an idea for a custom build for my first Ar pistol and he nailed it. The color refinish was perfect, not one flaw!I’ve put about 800 rounds through it already with no problem what so ever.Very happy with it, will definitely be returning for another build soon.

I had a mix of repair work done, AR, shotgun and 1911. Robert did a great job on all of them. The work exceeded my expectations and the cost was less than I thought it would be. The work was done quickly and Robert kept in contact. I have followed his work for a couple years and I am very happy that I chose to finally meet him and get some long overdue projects finished!

I have been to this location and met with Robert and staff several times. My 1st visit I had just purchased a g19 g5 and went in to quote some work. After a few minutes of chatting with Robert I ended up purchasing another custom g19 g4 he had displayed. I left it behind to have all the pins and hardware matched to the burnt bronze barrel. After 2 weeks I received notice it was ready. I arrived to find that it was waaaay off! The pins and hardware were gold! So I ended leaving it behind again and was told not to worry they would match it. About 2 weeks later i went to pick it up and it was still completely off. Its now an orange color with a burnt bronze barrel. I ended up just taking it. Ill have to figure that out since Im not happy with it. So.... I said to myself lets give them another shot. I dropped off my revolver to get a full cerakote job. A ruger lcr 38. That was about 2 months ago. At drop off I was given a time frame of 3 weeks. Well 2 weeks ago (2 weeks passed said due date) I received a call that someone had covid and they had been delayed and they were just getting to mine.... but they couldnt do anything because of a lock. I asked what lock? I received a picture of the internal grip lock on some of these rugers. I didnt even know it was there. The liberal lock. So I asked around and did some research. Come to find out it doesnt need to be touched for breakdown. I responded to the text stating this and asking to please confirm. That was on August 28th. I still have not received a response or acknowledgement. I also forwarded a complete breakdown video of said ruger. Still nothing. Id prefer to get there in person to follow up, but the current hours in place make that near impossible for anyone who has regular work hours. Closed Sat, sun, mon. And open 4 hours the remaining days. Ill update you guys once I know what is going on. But as of right now, I am not happy with my 1st results, and getting the run around and now the silent treatment on this project.....Update.. I received the revolver and it looks amazing. We are working on correcting the other piece now. Thanks Rob!!!

Robert is the only gunsmith in Florida that I trust to work, and keep my guns safely in his shop until they are finished with the work. Robert has been a well known citizen of the city, and the areas around it for more years than I can remember.I highly recommend him to all my friends, and neighbors. First time I get my gun customized at Miami gunsmith and Iam incredibly amazed with the quality of the work came out much better than I expected my rmr fit right in like a glove Tin coat on my barrel looks amazing stippling a great job I give this work a 10 out of 10. I was a little nervous because my gun was taking longer than expected but long for me was a month and half I was just anxious to see finish product any other company the wait times where 6-10 months being a business owner and doing labor work myself I understand he is one guy only working on a bunch of guns and if you want quality and a good job that takes time so if you’re not ready to wait you don’t deserve to have your gun worked on because that’s something that takes time therefore it can come out right and function correctly. 10 out of 10 best guns smith in Miami in my opinion!

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GUNSMITH...... I brought my AR15 in to get diagnosed for a light strike issue. He had it for 2 weeks. I had to reach out to him for an update. No response for 3 days. On top of that the diagnosed issue did not fix the problem. He told me the bcg was bad. Spent money on new bolt carrier group, 170$. Same issue . I brought it to a new gunsmith, with out firing it he told me the hammer spring was backwards. 2 minutes and 10 bucks . Contacted the owner basically said sorry and no compassion.Do not recommend this gunsmith.

His employee was very respectful and has good customer service. When I dropped my guns off there the employee couldnt give me a turn around time. I ask is a month good ge stated cant say but he hopes not. After the 1st month passed by I called several times eventually he answered and stated itll be ready by the following day, I was leaving the country for a month and had my phone no one called. When I got back I called he gave me the employees number to check on it called him and he didnt return my call after 2 hours I went there. He stated its not done yet hell but more priority on it. After the 3rd month I went there and he told me itll be ready the following day. Im a very patient person. I went back the next day an hour before closing and he was finishing up my slide he told me it couldnt be polished (I already had paid for the job) I didnt really believed that I felt like time caught up on him and he rushed it when I took the gun home i realized there was milling marks in the slide cuts and sharp metal burr shaving so yes felt like rhe job was rushed. Took them 3 months to install a benelli m4 stock and magazine tube and did 8 port cuts on my slide. I over paid for the polishing which wasnt done. Its hard for me to recommend him to others. But 3 months is a longtime and no one called me not 1 time. I had to keep driving down there because no one answer the phone 9 out of 10 times.

I took my slide in for an RMR cut and cerakote after looking at several reviews thought i was in good hands little did i know that deadline given was missed by 3 months Robert did not have the common courtesy to answer my calls or text until i sent a nasty one. Im ok with waiting and being patient but when you are so unprofessional to avoid calls and texts just to keep your customers in the loop not cool his employee stated that they called me to let me know it was ready in august and i had no record of it, one attempt to call me in 3 months no way. according to his employee Robert called me and went straight to voicemail but no voicemail was left no text was sent and no emial written i cant be ok with that got the run around and my slide was 3 months late. him or the employee handling his affairs did nothing to try and make this right. So i will not be a repeat customer and i will not be recommending him to anyone, i try to support locally owned businesses in my community but when the experience is this bad i would prefer to send my stuff to reputable companys online who have a quicker turnaround and are way more proffesional and practice better communication skills...

I had my Bersa Thunder 380cc handgun replaced by the manufacturer because of a broken frame, but was not happy with the replacement because it was too dark in color. I tried lightening it myself but botched it up. Since this is my primary carry, I took it over to Miami Gunsmith to see what they could do with it. When I walked into the store, I was met by Johnny who took his time with showing me the different color schemes that they had recently been doing with all sorts of handguns that were displayed behind the counter. I was able to touch and hold the weapons in order to feel the workmanship that they did. This made me feel very confident that they would do a find job with my handgun. When I decided on the work to be done, he stated that it would take approximately one week to complete the work. They had it done for me in TWO DAYS. When I returned to pick up my weapon, I was amazed at what they had done for me. It looked like a brand new gun and worth every penny I spent to get it refinished. I now plan to look at purchasing some of their customized AR-15s. Great customer service and awesome detailed work!!! Thank you so much for the great experience!!!!

I have alway wanted to own an M1911 and when I finally purchased one, i was extremly thrilled and even though it wasnt one of the most popular ones, I was thrilled nonetheless. However, I wanted it give it a make over and designed to my liking; wanted to doll it up a bit. After a few days of looking around & reading reviews, I found Miami GunSmiths.I took my 1911 and spoke to the owner Robert and went over what I wanted more or less. Without hesistation; he went straight to the computer screen and started looking up Grips, Sights and Cerakote Colors, etc. He also said that he will take a look to insure all functions of my 1911 were fully functional and in good form prior to any work. Safety comes First I was told that i should have my gun back with 3-4 weeks and I was fine with that. While waiting Robert was kind enough to send me photos of the work being done and if anything needed to be replaced he would sent me a photo of it (Grips Screws needed replacement). This was excellent, to recieve photos of the work being done, was comforting.2 1/2 weeks later, i was notified that the 1911 was ready and man was it.I am so very happy the way it turned out, I may never shoot it! (thats not true, Im shooting it! But the work made it look like new and it is sexy!I want to that Robert and Miami Gunsmiths for the Great Customer Service and Professionalism. You made the process easy and the work a Picasso. Thank you yet again. I hope to see pics of my 1911 on their instagram account or website!God Bless and Semper Fi

I had recently bought a carbine and I wanted to do some modifications on it. Taking my time, I asked around different gun stores where I go target shooting or shop and all talked about Miami Gunsmith. They all highly recommended the store in Hialeah and said Robert the owner was probably the best gunsmith in Miami. I took my KelTec Sub2000 G2 to Robert. Hes done great work on it and continues to as the carbine is still a work in progress. Hes also done work on another gun I have. Walking into the store is a pleasure as Roberts assistant welcomes you with a smile and ready to help. I was referred to Miami gunsmith by an old high school buddy. Sometimes you walk into gunshops and the guys behind the counter seem to be firearm geniuses and the sarcasm flows when youre trying to ask questions. So Im hesitant at times about where to get gun work done. Specially when they all brag about how their work is the best. Alas! I walked into Miami gunsmith and Robert the owner was very professional not only at answering my questions but also towards recommendations about what I was really looking for to get done to my gun. STAY AWAY!!! This shop is ran by a bunch of dishonest, incompetent gunsmiths that dont have a clue about proper techniques. They have extremely poor customer service skills, are unresponsive to your calls, lie to your face about the work done and then steal parts from your firearms. The store is in a dirty little garage-like space in an industrial park filled with racks of products and accessories that are so old the plastic has turned yellow on most of them. The Cerakote jobs they had on display were really gaudy and poorly executed so based on that I would never use them for that kind of work either. But on to my personal experience with them.I dropped off a precision AR to get the scope mounted. I provided the scope and mount. All I wanted was the scope mounted using a level, in the proper position and torqued to the mount properly. Should be a simple job for any competent gunsmith. They charged me $30 to install. I thought that was reasonable. When I returned and picked it up the mount was installed backwards. They told me to bring the rifle back again and they would fix it. I called the owner (Robert) and he said maybe the gunsmith working on it got distracted and mounted it incorrectly. Personally, I wouldnt trust a gunsmith that gets distracted and installs parts incorrectly but whatever. When I returned the gunsmith said Robert was actually the one that installed it. That was Lie number 1. This particular gunsmith said he had never used a level to install scopes and didnt see a need to do so even on a 4-16 x 44 precision scope. Wow really! Unbelievable! So another gunsmith stepped in and tried to take care of it but apparently the only level in the shop was cracked and broken so they still couldnt do it properly. To add insult to injury I had called them earlier and asked them to save the box for the scope. Well, they didnt they threw it away. Unfortunately, they also kept my sunshade (a $35 part) and tools to adjust the scope that came with it. Then they claimed it was never in the box. Lie number 2. It was brand new and I purchased it 2 days before bringing it in and I only opened the box once to check out the scope and the sunshade was there. The owner also said to call him when I returned and he would be there to personally fix the issue. I called him the day before several times (he wouldnt pick up) and finally left a message letting him know I would be coming in the next day. He wasnt there when I showed up. He dodged my calls while answering calls from another gunsmith right in front of my face and then never showed up.At this point I just wanted my money back. They had wasted so much of my time and energy for such a simple task. The employee that was there said he was not authorized to issue refunds and that I would need to talk to Robert the owner and he would be there shortly. I waited for about 45 minutes and he didnt show up. The shop was closing and the gunsmith told me to leave and come back another day. so that would be 3 trips to get a scope mounted and it still wasnt done correctly. $30 to get it installed improperly, get parts stolenSo I made 3 trips there, never got the scope mounted properly and now have to find and pay another gunsmith to do it right. Oh and spend more money to replace the parts they stole. So If you care at all about your firearms, safety or dont want parts stolen off your firearms please stay away from this shop.

In the month of October I dropped off my Desert Eagle 50.AE to Robert. It was a Father’s Day gift and came in Cerakote Burnt Bronze. I wanted to change my coating to bring out this massive firearm. I found a two tone Desert Eagle made by Magnum Research themselves. My gun was taken to others before going to Miami Gunsmith and they could not remove the Cerakote that it came in. Everywhere I called said they either could not do it or it could not be done. That I should sell it and buy another one with it precoated to my liking. Sell a Father’s Day gift that was given to me? Don’t think so! I contacted Miami Gunsmith and Sent the picture over to Robert and his words were “Yeah we can do that for sure”...Lol! I received my firearm back today and before my teary eyes lay a Two-Tone polished and Cerakote Desert Eagle. The body is Cerakote Black and the Barrel and accents are Titanium Nitride. All I can tell you is a picture is worth a thousand words. And if you don’t believe me look on his website pictures to see for yourself. Thank you very much Robert. Robert does great work with fair affordable pricing. He did some work for me on a Colt 605 build. I had him cut down a BCM 20 government profile barrel down to 15.5 and mill the exposed end of the barrel to .625 to accept the original colt front sight block, milled of the bayonet lug, and coat the barrel in flat black and gas block dark gray. Just came back from the range today and let me tell you this thing is a tac driver. Just as accurate as my other 20 rifles. This is my new favorite rifle. Thanks for everything. Will be returning soon

I have taken 5 AR15s to get cerakoted with them. My rifles are now works of art! The cool thing about them is that whatever you can dream of to put on your rifle or pistol they can do it. Believe me, I have dreamed of a lot of cool things!Their work is excellent! They are priced incredibly well, I actually feel guilty paying him what he quotes me because of all the work that I have him do on my rifles. And, he gets you back the rifle in a timely manner not like some places that take months to finish. I would HIGHLY recommend Robert and Miami Gun Smith! Juan Baixeras

I dropped off my Noveske build to get it cerakoted in FDE. The gentleman told me that it would take 2-3 weeks. In 2 weeks I called and he said it would be another 1-2 weeks. In all I received my rifle in 4 1/2 weeks. When I went to go zero my rifle, I noticed my rail moving back and forth. When I removed the rail, I noticed that the barrel nut was loose enough that I could unscrew it with my hand. For someone that works on so many rifles and advertises by saying that he knows so much about guns, how could you miss something so important like that? I tried contacting him throughout the entire process but he was extremely hard to get in contact with. The one time he did answer he said he will call me back but never did. Until I had to call him back again. Be aware before giving him your high end rifle.

Great place and customer service. As a former SWAT guy, I can tell you guys in Law Enforcement P.O.s are picky on gear and just because its new and popular dosent mean its practical. I appreciate the feedback and dialog. Every time i go and speak to the guys at Miami Gunsmith I feel comfortable and find they are attentative to my shooting needs. I love the mom and pop business atmosphere. Keep up the good work.

I had miamigunsmith install my newly purchased rmr. When they shipped it back to me. The rmr would not turn on & I noticed it had debris inside my glass. I spoke to the owner. He told me he didnt function check the rmr after install. I was told I paid him to install it not make sure that it worked. It was working when I gave it to him. I took it to a local gunsmith. He immediately noticed 2 different size screws were used.He tried to remove the screws to find out why it wasnt working. He was unable to remove the screws because red locktite was used. I talk to the owner about my issues. He was very rude and condescending, hung up the phone on me & refused to take my calls. He has the worst customer service I ever experienced. I received my slide back from @trijicon. The rmr was installed without a battery on top of all the other things they did wrong

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. If you got a custom AR15 miami gunsmith build package BEWARE. First of all hes not a gunsmith at all, he is maybe an Armorer from his police times with the Hialeah Police Department if that means anything to anyone. He has no accreditations of any kind but watch him lie about these too. I got an AR-15 custom build from him and when I started having problems with my Magpull flip up sights i contacted Magpull and sent them pictures of it and I found out that these are cheap knock-offs from China they are not original Magpul sights. I thought it might be a mistake and I contacted two of my buddies that also got builds from him and after contacting Magpull they found out their sights are also fake Magpul knockoffs from China. The only thing this guy cares about its turning a profit does he not care about safety or anything else. Stay away from this thief and scam artist, if you value your safety or your familys safety and your money and gear find someone else.

Because google doesnt allow you to respond to the response from the company, here is my rebuttal to your weak attempt to make my review seem false ROBERT:RE: to your RE:First, As my review says, on 8/17 YOU said the parts were still not there, but that YOU DID finish the frame work. So when I couldnt reach you On 8/19, I decided to go to the shop on 8/20, but ironically the parts did arrive, BUT THE WORK WAS NOT DONE! So you did lie, I wouldnt just show up if you didnt.Second, When I picked my gun up, Johnny offered to charge me $45 for the undercut and I could bring the gun back next week. I REFUSED to pay and said that if I decide to still get the work done there, that I would bring it back. Yes, I left on friendly terms because as the review says I didnt realize how bad the work was until I got it home for a good look.Furthermore, I am an unhappy customer who feels they were lied to and rather than offer to make that right you mock me by saying Im just mad that I couldnt reach you for two days. You defend your shop and lies and boast about your happy 90%. What that shows is that you dont care about the 10% who you lie to and treat bad. Thanks officer!_______________________________________________________________________ORIGINAL REVIEW:On 8/9/16 I dropped off my glock with Robert. We spoke about what I would like done to it (double undercut, some polished parts, some new parts). Robert expressed that the frame and polish would be done soon but that waiting for the parts would take the longest. I asked about how long, he said 5 days. That wouldve been 8/16.I didnt hear from him on that day so I assumed maybe the parts took a little longer. I waited and called the next day 8/17. I spoke with Robert again when he told me All the work is done, Im just waiting for the parts. Which should be here in a day or two. Mind you, on 8/9 I was told it would be about 5 days, now its become 9-10 days.I didnt try to reach Robert again until Friday 8/19, exactly 10 days after he said it would take about 5 days. No answer, so I left a voice mail. 3 hours later, no call back. But I see this guy posting and commenting Instagram. So I text him like all his posts and website say to do. Nothing. I call again at 6:30pm before his shop closes. Nothing. At this point I just want my gun back.Today, Saturday 8/20, I go to the shop to pick up my gun since Robert said the work was done but we are only waiting for parts. I figured I could use the gun over the weekend and bring it back when the parts arrive. But to make matters worse, Robert wasnt even there. His employee Johnny was there. Johnny didnt know anything about the work to be dont to my gun. He went to the back to check and comes back and tells me that the pieces arrived but that NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE TO MY GUN!!!After explaining to Johnny what Robert told me on 8/17, he said the gun would not be ready until the next week. I DID NOT take that as an answer and told him that his boss lied to me and i would take the gun as is. Johnny said he could do the work on the spot, but it would take 2 hours. I agreed.Sadly though, I left feeling like the work was going to be botched. I wasnt wrong. When picked up the gun, it looked bad. I didnt realize how bad until I got home. The pieces that I wanted polished looked like an amateur who never polished a piece of metal worked on them. There was still reminance of the black finish that the pieces had before the polish. The pins that secure the gun and keep it together were not properly replaced and were sticking out more on one side than the other WHICH IS UNSAFE, and the frame work was not done. So after waiting 11 days after being told it would take 5, after being LIED TO BY THE OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS, after being told that no work had been done, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and let them work on my gun just to have it returned looking bad. These people show some nice pics on their Instagram but the work and customer service leaves plenty to be desired.
