Great store all around love the owners and staff inside! However there’s a sales manager in there who doesn’t know anything about anything and told me all he does is sale the new stuff he doesn’t know anything about them. I asked him what string he would use on this style weed eater and he couldn’t even help me. Great store all around but that toro sales manager is terrible with customer service and has a negative look and attitude. I’d look into a new sales manager or train him a little more. Other then that great experience every time!

I called to see about how much it would cost to get the valves adjusted on my lawn mower.. I was told WE dont transfer customers to the service department because WE dont want to tie them up???? I can only imagine how difficult it would be to get an update on the repair or how long it would take for it to get done.,. I also called in the past about getting a starter because I needed it now because the lawn was half done and I couldnt wait for it to be shipped through Amazon...Killians is VERY expensive compared to them...I was going to go ahead and do it anyway because the lawn was half done but the parts guy told me once I bolted it to the lawn mower there are NO returns...I owned it... This company is NOT customer service focused... They think about themselves first and whats convenient for them.. Ill be taking my lawn mower to Lowes to be sent out for repair I would rather pay more money to have better customer service and guarantees...

I went today to get a chainsaw serviced it was the first time I had to take something in for a service as soon as I walked in the woman at the desk told me NOT TO BRING THAT IN MY MY STORE THANK YOU I didnt get to say can you help me or anything and she didnt say hello or can I help you is was take it around to the side at the dock and someone will help you out there Now Im thinking i didnt know were to go i was going to ask but thats what she said before i could say anything. So I went around the building and a customer told me were to go I went in told I needed it serviced the guy told me it would be 3 weeks as I looked around I seen 2 guys sitting behind the glass talking the whole time I was there 1 guy sitting at a desk doing nothing and a sign that said $35 a hour to me thats no good business and it was only 11:20am Im tired of doing business with people who act rude or act like they do not want my business never again will I walk in to this place again.

I bought my second Toro 3000 mower today from Killians and must say that I couldnt be more pleased with the sales and service experiences I have had there over the years . I like dealing with locally owned business - especially the few like Killians that are owned and operated by third generation family members who support the local community/economy..They sell the highest quality products at a fair price; their parts and service departments are exemplary and each staff member Ive dealt with seems to take pride in their work and put customer satisfaction first. You certainly cant find this level of knowledge, experience and caring at the big box stores. I own and use multiple Toro, Stihl and Echo products and highly recommend Killians sale and service for these top quality products.

The gentleman in the service department was friendly, very efficient, and answered all questions I had. He looked up information about the 2 belts for my Toro mower. I had the belts in my hand in less than 10 minutes, was on my way to pay the lady at the register in the front of the store, and was out the door in less than 3 minutes. Absolutely the best place to get your outdoor equipment needs. From my very first visit I knew that the kiillians family had their prioritys in order. First God, family, then business. Even though I am not a large scale land scaper with ten or more pices of equipment I have always been treated like family. Killians only has the best equipment that there is to offer. The Toro mowers they offer are stand alone, hands down the best mowers on the market. Toro is extremely well built with lots of pride. The Toro company has shown me personally how much pride they take with there product. Any time someone stands behind a product thats out of warranty and makes it good is above and beyond in my opinion. So I have said all of that to say this if you want to be treated like family while buying the best pice of equipment possibly made then dont think of going anywhere outher than Killians. The company I work for is over the landscaping at multiple assisted living facilities. My first owned mower ever. I bought it at Lowe’s but after having it 45 days something happened to where it was cutting uneven. I took it to Killians. Staff super friendly and had it placed under warranty for the fix. They politely told me they was a month behind which I was very glad they told me most places don’t. But i had my cousin go pick it up after it was fixed because as a single parent I don’t have a trailer or truck. And mowed yesterday and it is still cutting uneven. And that was the original problem in the first place. So I called and they said they fixed piece that was bent and figured that’s why it was cutting uneven. Said it maybe the deck uneven some I needed to bring it back for them to relook at it. But very upset that I have to take it back and find a way to take it back because they didn’t make sure all of it was unlevel besides just one thing they fixed.

Sad that can’t even call and talk to a mechanic about a situation with my mower. Lady said they are 3 weeks behind on work so in order for me not have to take mine to them and wait that long was asking if my idea of problem sounded right or not. Takes less time to talk than for me to wait 3 weeks!!! Guess it’s all about the money $$$$ there?? Can’t guess any suggestions because then they might lose money of somebody fixing their own mower and not bringing to them. What a joke!!!

On a couple of occasions I have had an experience with this place. There service is average to below average. Service Manager is cocky, rude and unprofessional. His lack of knowledge is not comforting when they are charging you an arm and a leg for service (more per hour than my car dealer charges). They replace parts and dont give you back to old ones and try to feed you a line of crap about what they did, only for the problem to still exist. They seem to not care about customer satisfaction, only how much money they can remove from your wallet. Do yourself a favor and stay away from their service department. Parts people are helpful. Lady at front counter is rude. Talks on phone about personal issues while customers are present. Very unprofessional. Its too bad, as Toro makes a great product, but because of them, I would never own one.

Killians is a nice neighborhood home and garden hardware store with the items one would expect to find at a home center and I would recommend utilizing their store for purchasing these items.Killians also has a service department to make small engine repairs and service on lawn mowers, chain saws, etc., and I cannot recommend using them for this purpose.I recently dropped off a walk behind mower to have the carb cleaned as well as a general servicing. 2 weeks later i was informed it was finished and ready to be picked up. The work performed was: complete carburetor rebuild, new air filter, new spark plug, blade sharpening, oil change, and fresh tank of fuel. I settled the bill and took home the mower and went to mowing the grass. It took perhaps 10 or so pulls to start, and at this point a terrible noise came from the mower. I killed it and flipped over the mower to find the rusty blades hardly attached to the spindle. I tightened them and again started to mow, and approximately 5 minutes later the mower died and would not start back. I was mildly upset at this point and went to checking actual work performed to work billed and found several short comings.I returned the mower to the service department, they seemed apologetic and they said they would take care of it.2 weeks later the mower was again ready to be picked up. An additional $40 was charged (increasing the total bill to nearly $180), the front desk explained it was my fault as I applied dirty fuel to the mower (I never put any fuel in the mower) and that they had to again clean the tank. I stated my case and the bill was reduced to $20.I enjoy utilizing local businesses, however in the case of Killians, I do not think I will return. I feel deceived and slighted, and feel I was charged handsomely, and then forced to repay for services not performed to begin with.I understand the principles of business and also the fact that businesses must charge to make a profit, however I believe that work must be completed with integrity and that work stood behind.

My Toro ZTR I bought about ten years ago from Killians would not start. I got it running by by passing the solenoid. It would go dead as soon as you released the park lever. I was convinced it was the ignition switch. I drive 32.2 miles to deal with Killians’s passing six places I could get parts. I told Tim in parts what my problem was and he thought it could be the solenoid. Anyway I got the switch and the generic solenoid and after my 32 mile trip back home found out it was the solenoid. Tim saved the day for me because I had no way to get the mower to Hickory and could not do without it for two weeks.

The woman I spoke with on the phone agreed that they could show me how to attach the Stihl conversion part I wanted to buy. She was very rude in person and when the nice service man was having difficulty with attaching the part I wanted to buy the woman kept coming over and adding comments that specifically implied I was interrupting her lunch even though she was not working on my needs.She wanted the service man to do something else. He even asked if he could finish working on trying to attach the conversion part I wanted. When the part was not fitting she came over again and said that what he was trying to do for me was not what they do at their store. I told her how rude she was, offered to pay for the service mans time and I left without buying the part and would never go their again.I feel sorry for the service man because he was very pleasant. I took my business to Mountain View Home and Garden Center and they gladly showed me how to add the conversion part. By the way, the part the woman had set aside for me at Killians was the wrong part and that is why the service man had trouble. She should not be in any line of work dealing with customers. This review can only be published if I add one star. I prefer giving them zero, but wanted to review for the sake of others. 10 stars for Mountain View Home and Garden Center.

STAY AWAY FROM KILLIANS HARDWARE. Only gave one star because I couldnt go any lower. Your service department and customer service are both severely lacking. Had my mower looked at, and was told the repair would be expensive, so I declined repair and picked up my mower. Went to mow some time later to discover that the blade and several parts were missing on the bottom end. Called them and was told by the snotty girl, since you declined repair we didnt reassemble it, and we wouldnt still have the parts. So you kept, then discarded the parts that belonged to me? Believe me Killians when I say that Im going to do everything I can to run your sorry business into the ground. Thanks!

Our mower belt broke this rainy summer. We’re mowing over 5 acres and needed a quick fix. These folks deserve a MEDAL for having not one, but TWO Husqvarna β€œEZ4824” 42’ deck belts in stock!! I like the people at killians. I like the store itself. But the mower I bought......not so much. Spent $6,000 on a brand new Toro time cutter HD. Was told its best of its class will last a lifetime anything happens, bring it back up here! Well would you believe me if I told you I loved it for about a week. Its the my ride edition which sounds great. But IS NOT practical for a mower. First off mine wouldnt sit straight, when I took it back, was told thats the way they are.....okay, whatever? Then, a few weeks later, it would crank. A sensor ALREADY went bad. Less than 15 hours and something breaks. They did fix that. Then the front wheels start popping, which I understand might be normal as I was explained. But wouldnt even take the time to hear it for themselves and consider my concerns. The striper fell off within a couple weeks as well. Mowing the flattest of flat yards, no bumps, just fell off. I hate to say it, cause I love Killians and the people there, but will be the absolute LAST time I spend a penny there if they wont make this right for me.***Update on the review. I always follow up with reviews after my initial if anything changes. Got a call direct from Killians, Sharon to be exact. And she sincerely apologized for the mishaps, and said she will do everything in her (their) power to fix. I do believe her cause I remember Sharon from purchasing the mower and never did beat around the bush. Which I respect in a sales person. I will be taking my mower up there as soon as season ends and have them look over again. I did fail to mention above that Scott said he should be able to fix off centered platform, just to bring up in the winter, I had forgotten about that. Im not easily impressed, Ive left a ton of reviews, and Ive NEVER gotten a call about one Ive left. I respect that. Terrible business. Everybodys rude. They follow you around even after you tell them exactly what youre there for. Always staring at you like youre going to steal something. Ive felt very uncomfortable every time Ive stepped foot in this store. They want to rush you out as soon as possible & make you feel like they do not need your business. They over price everything. All items can be bought at Wal-Mart or Lowes Hardware for a much cheaper price. Then the guy gives you the wrong parts, so you have no choice but to either swallow your pride and go back or just take the loss & choose another business. I do not mind driving out of my way, just to avoid these people. If you do not present yourself as if youre rich, then dont go because you will be treated like trash.

I brought my Husqvarna mini tiller in for repair. One gas hose was missing. They called and said it needed a new carburetor which had been replaced by them a yr before. They estimated it would cost $175 so i decided to not fix it. I called back and asked them to put the gas hose back on . It cost me $59.65 to diagnose the problem and replace one $2 hose. I went home turned the choke on and pulled the rope 3 times. Guess what the tiller now runs. Shame on you Killians.You must have needed another $129 for a tip. Never again.

Had to take my leaf blower for them to fix because my pull cord keeps getting stuck. It messed up about 4 times in about 3 months. Tired of wasting my money, I looked it up how to fix it and fixed it myself. During the process, found out that their repair team does not fix it propertly.
