This was the best experience ever. Chris the Service Manager was the best. He looks intimidating, but a very nice and professional guy.Also Billy is the man too when it comes to parts.

Billy was very knowledgeable about everything ! I 100% recommend to anyone looking for parts or that has questions.

Staff was awesome the only issue i have is they have listings for bikes they dont have. So not only can you not see it but i can not get a accurate quote. Now if i can place a order to get the bike it wont be so bad but that request was turned down.

Had an interesting experience today, asked for an oil change for a bike and the price of one and while refusing eye contact the man mumbled 48$ and didn’t allow me to pay until after the work was done, not thinking anything about it they were quick and easy but the ending total was almost 100$ just wishing there was a truthful exchange in the beginning I will not be doing business here again. And yes I do understand that there is labor pay but this was unacceptable.

Lane was great to talk to on making a decision on a new mule. Very knowledgeable. Sadly they didnt have the particular one I wanted in stock. Even though I didnt purchase from this dealer they were understanding and I will check in next time Im in the market.

Just bought a Momentum Bluetooth helmet by SENA and cannot believe the abilities of this thing. GW of Hickory sold the helmet at a cheaper price than Amazon or eBay. A deaf man on a bike with a Smart helmet, it just might work!

Worst place ever. I took my bike for repairs after it had been knocked over. they only fixed half of what needed to be fixed. then when asked about it I got the run around, I will never go back.

Making sure I was taken care of and given ample time and space to look at the gear. Much, much better. Great selection of gear and awesome helmets.

Purchased a new Hammerhead Mudhead go kart from here and have had nothing but problems with it. Great Western has extremely poor customer service and their service department was rude and unresponsive. Buyer beware

I had contacted the store via email about getting an ATV. No response so I called, the sales guy that answered the phone sounded like he was half asleep. He said he was helping someone on the other line and if I could hold on hed be back to help me, he also took my name down, I said fine thinking hed put me on hold. No, he bluntly hung up on me. Never called back either. Its been 4 days and still nothing from anyone here so Im taking my business elsewhere. I was looking to buy several ATVs over the next few months but this place just lost my business. And to the owner that may reply to this, just ask your sales guy who did you supposedly put on hold Wednesday morning at 9:30, then hung up on and never called back....or check the emails Ive sent this week....thats a pitiful way to run a business.

The Service Manager Chris Whorley is the man!

Had my gsxr master cylinder recall done on my track bike and the very next track day I made it 3 corners into the sighting lap before my front brake locked unexpectedly. I found a bulletin from Suzuki online for the use of aftermarket levers that evidentially the service crew hadn’t read. It causes unexpected front brake application bc the new pushrod isn’t the same diameter. I had a terrible crash which resulted in a broken collarbone and a head injury. Upon further inspection I found that the new throttle cables that were installed as part of the recall were routed UNDERNEATH the brake master cylinder, instead of over top. These guys are a danger to the community they serve. Beware of shoddy, rushed, and substandard work. I’m extremely lucky to have not been killed that day.

The parts guys are always going above and beyond very knowledgeable.

Went in to look at a z900. Originally they where ok with the out the door price I wanted until I wouldnt trade my bike In for a measly $1300 so they could resell it for higher. I am giving 4 stars because After declining that offer I was told they wouldnt not be able to sell if for 9800 out the door. That I could sell my bike for much higher if I sold it outright to a individual. Ride now in concord gave me the price I wanted. 9800 out the door. Oh yea and I got to keep my original bike with ride now. No downpayment at all. You guys where fairly nice and respectful so I gave 4 stars for your personality. Really lost a sale over a couple hundred bucks though. Ridenow also was able to upsell me on maintenance and me be happy about it. Instead of a 1 year warranty I got 4 years. This is definitely not a negative review. Hopefully you see it as valuablefeedback. Anyway thats my .02 cents. Not a bad dealership just couldnt make a deal

Went to get tire put on 21 wheel on a saturday morning. Service guy was so hung over could barely keep his head up. When i got my tire put on the brand new wheel somehow got out of true. Been to this store several times and always have had bad experiences. Feel like they dont want your buisness. I may not look like i have money to buy anything but little do they know. I will not be back

The prices on the bikes and go cart are not what you pay I had cash money exact amount they were asking on sticker and after 1399 taxes and all it went to 2300 blew my mind thats false advertising for sure especially when I had cash...

I seriously love this place. The guys in sales are so helpful and they gave me a great deal on my new bike without trying to take me to the cleaners. It took me forever to get them the tag to my old bike and they were incredibly patient through the whole thing. Really straightforward, honest price negotiations and the FRIENDLIEST service Ive seen in almost any business--anywhere! Their service guys were very helpful and really fast when my boyfriend went in there for a new tire. Great folks in every department. Well definitely be back!

I was disappointed that the price quoted over the phone changed by over $1,500 when I arrived. Wasted 140 miles round trip.

Went out to look into picking up a side-by-side for my wife to use around our property. Sales staff was very knowledgeable, took the time to show us several options at varying price points, and listened to our concerns and needs to ensure that the options they presented to us fit our requirements. Despite our showing up only an hour before closing they were more than happy to let us test drive a unit and all stayed late to assist us with the purchase and provided free delivery to our home. Several of the accessories we wanted were not in stock, so their parts manager offered to have someone drive out to our residence to install them on-site for us once they were delivered to the store.The team at Great Western went above and beyond and as a result well be recommending them without a second thought to anyone in the market for a bike, quad, sxs, or other recreational/utility vehicle.

I went in to get a price (quote) on a scooter. these people have exorbitant fees an are getting rich on those fees, we are sure other dealers do it (doesnt make it right) but they gave me the highest quote with a host of fees.. fees added over $1300 dollars to the price..we are sure if there was a air added fee they would happily charge $189.99 for it... buy elsewhere, you can get it cheaper.. dont just buy to make a purchase, or to make someone at the dealership happy...remember your making the payment. an it IS your money....shop around.. you can get a better price, i did, you can too.. have patience PLEASE SHOP AROUND.. remember the commercial, (at this dealership)... YOU WILL PAY TO MUCH..

Took my elderly neighbor to them to have his atv serviced. They did a great job and was very patient with him. They had a great selection of ATVs and motorcycles.

So I moved away for a few years came back and noticed that Kawasaki Yamaha of Hickory is now great western. That’s fine I knew name or new owners no big deal trying to get the service department on the phone? Is a complete and utter joke and then when Jerry answered he was completely rude had no manners and honestly I do not believe he knows what he is talking about when I asked him my question. Maybe you should look at upgrading your service department. I thought Kawasaki Yamaha was bad this is even worse. I am taking my purchasing be it parts service or buying a new bike to Charlotte.

Service Above and Beyond! I recently had my Kawasaki jet ski serviced here and everything from the original call to the pick-up to the delivery was exceptional. My original dealer went out of business so it was doubly impressive that such great service was provided to a first time customer. Thanks to Gary for the memorable experience!

Staff was excellent, Jamie and his Parts Department especially. Lee in service done great work. However I was sticker shocked just a bit when I received my bill from service department. I suppose with cold weather coming its make it where you can type of attitude. Which is sad because thats what ever other dealership does in the area.

Sales rep kept asking me if i had question and following me around i told her i dont but ill let her know if i did. She just had a bad vibe. Maybe because im asian and she wanted me to get out of the store asap. Was interested in the 125 and asked another guy the price and all in all the price he gave me was almost 5k out the door. He didnt seem like he wanted to work any deal out. So i just left and went with a honda down the road. Thanks honda!

I purchased a Vulcan S a few weeks ago. There were a couple of hiccups but Jerry & Mark made sure they did everything possible to get what I needed & adjustments made as necessary. I called to see if I could get a oil change, chain cleaning and a new set of tires. They fit me in there schedule. I’m so thankful that I was able to come here. The machanic Dylan and the service manager Chris went head of heals and did an amazing job making sure I got the best service for my 1999 Hayabusa. All said and done I learned a lot and also got a great deal on parts and labor. So happy to now be a part of the great western of hickory motorcycle shop.

Called and priced a tire, was told they had 2 of my size in stock different brands. Went to get a tire installed and they tried to sell me a more expensive tire that wasn’t listed before. Purchased a tire and had it installed, they tried to charge me for the tire again. Went to get on my motorcycle and was missing part of my cellphone holder. Thankfully they were able to find it. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership. If you have to go here, make sure you examine your receipts so you aren’t getting over/double charged.

Recently purchased a bike that had been sitting for almost a year (96 Vulcan 800). The guys in parts and service were very upfront in describing what my issues were/could be and potential cost. I had my bike completely serviced (new tires/tubes front and back, new rear brakes, cleaned and rebuilt carburetor and installed baffles). The work was done in a timely manner and the guys in service were great to work with. Dealerships usually get a bad rap but these guys are genuinely great folks. One of the salesman even ran me home after I dropped my bike off & didnt have a ride home. Again, great folks to work with!

Staff has always been very helpful and very personable. Always have the parts I need or can get them within a couple days.

Had service done here recently. In addition to what I already knew I needed to have worked on, I also mentioned that I thought I needed my brakes done. They came back and said that the rear brakes were due but the front was fine. I basically gave them a free pass to say that both front and back were due if they wanted to, yet they only told me what was actually needed. I appreciate that honesty from a shop. Also, when there was something that didnt feel quite right to me (mushy brake), they took it back to the shop and worked to make it right before I left the lot.

Everytime we go to renew our vessel registration we get told they are too busy right now to help. If thats the case why dont you state that on the phone when we call to make sure youre available and open! Never willing to help. They need to be removed from the wildlife website as a place you can renew registration.
