Ron and his guys were great! They took my car in right away and I was fearing the worst for repairs but turned out to be minor in terms of cost (was definitely not safe to keep driving) and did not charge for erroneous repairs. Very fair, honest and quick. Highly recommend if visiting the area and have car troubles.

Needing new brakes couldn’t have happened at the worst time while vacationing on Hilton Head Island. Called and made an appointment for the next day, brought truck to them and got the low down as to what needed done and a fair quote on cost. Gave the ok to do the work and they started on the work the next morning and before noon I got the call my truck was ready to be picked up. Thankfully they had no problems getting all the parts in and put on the truck without any issues. Kind, honest and professional service right from the start. I am happy to recommend this business to anyone needing car repair services. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

This is the most honest mechanic on the island.. Its really hard for single ladies to get their car worked on without someone taking advantage of them. They fixed my air conditioning after 2 people recommended them. Did a great job!!! Wont take my SUV anywhere else! Great prices too.

Hands down best experience I could have had! Wanted to have my brakes checked out after them feeling a little off after coming down the mountain in NC. Dropped off van expecting to need at least brake pads but got a call a few hours later and they told me everything was good to go! Had I gone to a chain store I am positive I would have been paying for pads and rotors at least. I fully recommend Island Auto Service for anyone local or traveling.

Made the problem worse and then went into a shell when I asked what happened. Unprofessional. Took my car to a dealership for a true fix and all of a sudden, a piece was entirely missing, only one other company, this company, had looked at the car - im not one to rely on assumptions but that doesnt look good. Cannot in good faith recommend this company.

As a tourist with a tire issue, and after contacting the large tire chain companies with no availability to assist. I contacted Island Auto Service who was able to replace my tire and not waste much of my vacation time. They ordered the tire and two days later replaced it at 8am and I was back before the kids were up. Great experience.

Tourist from Canada with vehicle problems on New Years Eve. I was hopefully traveling home on January 3rd. I went to a service center around the corner that had no compassion. Island Auto Service evaluated my vehicle, parts were ordered and repairs done in an extremely timely fashion. In addition to that, one repair that Id agreed to wasnt necessary and they told me so. I started to write a review that spelled out specifically my experience. I ran out of space. The short version is this: I would not take my car anywhere else. Mike, Barry and the rest of the team are among the most honest in the business. My situation with my car was a major transmission issue. When it was all said and done, Mike made the recommendation not to do the work that was required as it didnt make sense on a car, while still in good shape, was very high in miles. They walked away from a $7,500 transmission job because it was in my best interest. Have you ever heard of an auto service company walking away from work because to do the work wasnt in the best interest of the customer? I never have. In addition, I wasnt charged for the diagnostic work or the towing. Dont trust your car to anyone else.

After being referred to this place by a co-worker, as well as being personally introduced to the owner Billy Bob, on February 22, 2016, I had my car towed to this business to be checked as to why it wasnt starting. During this introduction with the owner and making the arrangements for the tow and diagnosing my car, I was assured that nothing will be done to my car until I received a diagnosis and an estimate, also an assurance of the only costs would be for the repair once approved by me. The next morning, I received a call from one of the employees informing me that theyve checked the car and havent found the problem, but they need to go into the engine to check the timing belt, which still may not be the problem. And in order for them to do that, I need to pay them $600-$650 to go into the engine. I immediately told them to stop and do nothing else. During this same conversation, they offered to buy my car, in which I refused. I had the dealership that I purchased the car from to pick up the car to do the repairs, Island Auto would not release the car until a bill for parts and labor was paid, in the amount of $124.52. However, they complied in order to get the car. Once I found out this information, I contacted Island Auto to inquire, I was told that they contacted my husband and was given the ok to make repairs. I informed them that I have no husband and the agreement was between myself and them and that wasnt the agreement made and they will be reported.This business do not stand behind their word!!!

Always got honest information regarding necessary repairs and associated costs. Fixed up right every time and after picking up my vehicle its always performed perfectly.

Do NOT take your car here. I took my car to get an estimate done and was promised 300-400 dollars. They told me if I ordered all the parts they would fix it. I ended up ordering two of the wrong parts so WITHOUT them calling and asking me if it was okay if they went ahead and ordered the right ones, they took it upon themselves to order AND install them and slam me with a $750 bill!!! Once I tried to talk to Ron (the Owner) about the bill and tell him I thought it was unreasonable he was INCREDIBLY rude not letting me get a word in, talking over me, and giving me excuses. He then proceeded to tell me to never bring my car back again. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, no respect for anyone. I am absolutely appalled at the way I was treated and the fact that they didn’t even ask me if it was okay to order the parts let alone install them.
