My rating is based solely on my purchase of boxes from the u haul supply store that is located at the storage facility. I didn’t rent a vehicle or storage unit so I can not comment regarding them. I picked up some packing boxes for picture frames I needed to ship. They were about 5$ per box for a medium sized box which was a good price. They were in stock and I was able to get in and out very quickly. They also had some other shipping boxes and supplies which seemed a little pricey but overall for me it was a good experience.
We used to store a emergency solar power generator in the yard. Uhaul of Holbrook knowingly allow another one of their clients to tamper with others property that was stored on site which they are on video confessing that he was known to go though people’s stuff and use what was accessible. This client damaged our unit to the tune of over $20,000.00. It’s not sure much about the money it’s about the fact that they allowed this behavior after catching this client damage others property. He’s still there today. Do not store your stuff at this location.
Worst customer service ever!!!! Rude and incompetent… plus had me wait 30 mins in the heat for Propane.. Ignored the ring bell for assistance just to find out there was no one available who knew how to fill propane tanks ….But no one came to tell me that either … I had to go In…
The worst service I’ve ever experienced. For one the lights conked out during the move and the drivers side door would not close..some of my furniture n TVs were damaged from the rain and when I spoke to the guy and told him when I returned the truck her just kept yes’in me to death....this is a sad excuse for a moving company. I do not recommend this place next time I will check the truck before I use any other U-haul ....
Two vehicles were brought in for hitch installation a week apart. First vehicle job completed with no issues. Components work flawlessly. The second vehicle was dropped off, and during lunch was informed via telephone a slight problem occurred. He had probably nicked a wire and does not have the parts to correct the problem. I spoke to the owner/installer the vehicle will be towed to my mechanic at his expense and he will pay the bill. Dan at Dans Champion Automotive informed me the vehicle is completely dead at this time, and continued to diagnoses the problem. A major harness was severed, causing multiple items to short circuit. After two weeks almost $5000 in damages, were repaired by Dan. I never was even offered a rental...However they were gracious enough to send me an invoice for parts installed with a complimentary bill of zero dollars. Why 2 stars, first installation was excellent, second a catastrophic failure. On top of all this I had to deal with their insurance company and wait for payment to have my vehicle repaired with no offer of rental or written apology.Update Installed brake controller was miswired. Had to pay to go have it corrected. Really only one job and still screw it up...You decide. I ca not reccommend this facility
Love this place for the availability of equipment and how quickly they get me going. Rented trailers there 3 times in the last two months and was satisfied every time. Great service and good people. Will be back again.
Waited for 15 minutes on hold, then Virginia hung up on me after I told her I dont know if my car is a GXP or a GTP (sorry Im not a car guru). Then I called back, and 15 minutes later the associate refused to give me her name and the hung up. Needless to say, wont be using this location.
The worst. This was my first and LAST time using them. Charged us for damages we KNOW we did not do. But of course it’s their word against ours but I guarantee you if someone was to open an investigation they’d most likely find other innocent people who were charged for things they did not do. The “General Manager” Christopher didn’t help or TRY to resolve anything. Received an attitude from him about my concern because like I said it’s their word against ours and he knows that. Don’t use this company. Better yet just stay away from Holbrook, NY location. Perhaps you’ll get more HONESTY, FRIENDLINESS, and ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE from a different location.
I Called the Holbrook location to have a hitch installed. Spoke with the call center. Very nice man. He was unable to make an appointment for 2 weeks at that location so he scheduled me same day for Jericho location. I drove over an hour in traffic. When I got there I was told no on can install because our installer is going home. I spoke with the manager. She told me she saw the appointment scheduled but thought it was a joke. Maybe she should have called to confirmed the appointment. She said I would have to come back another day. Then said well one of the kids can install the hitch but I will need to come back to have the electric completed. I refused. Then said well he can do the electric also -he worked on a few cars before but u will be here all nite. I asked for her manager info. At first she refused then she gave me district manager info and said she wont do anything for you. How comforting! During the entire process the manager and workers were laughing and joking around and complaining about the call center. Disgrace!!!As a customer this is unacceptable customer service. No way would I let them touch my car and feel comfortable they know what they are doing. I find this very disheartening that there is no honor or pride in how they treat consumers. I can only hope they go out of business in the very near future.

Would have been 5 stars however the phone service is absolutely terrible. Its nearly impossible to reach the office line. The phone just rings and rings until you are transferred to an operator in Arizona.The reason for the 4 stars is the manager Tom. He is very knowledgeable as well as extremely helpful. We had a mishap with our moving crew and returned the truck later then our scheduled time, and despite the tardiness Tom was a total professional. Thank you Tom for your patience and understanding.
Will not answer the phone and keep transferring me to a call center
I rented a truck from Budget that was so disgusting we could not drive it. I came to the Holbrook Uhaul where Chris and his co-worker went above and beyond our expectations. Initially, the price was very high, but we showed them the Budget billa and they worked with us and gave us a very comparable price. The truck was brought up front, the boxes we purchased were loaded and the truck was immacculate, front and back. We are extremely grateful to Chris and his co-worker for helping us out in what we considered an emergency. The showroom is clean, neat and organized. I moved ftom Long Island, but will recommend Chris to my friends and family who still live there.
Worst Uhaul location. Read all of the reviews. I’ve been a Uhaul customer 2-5x a MONTH for several years. I came to this location and didn’t get to use the equipment due to a leak in the tire. TOM first told me he’d get me a refund. After I tried to go through Uhaul corporate, he wrote that I am a “frequent complainer” and locked the account so that customer service couldn’t intervene. I tried reaching out to many people but never got it resolved.
I made an appointment and called the night before to ask when I could drop the car off for a hitch install. Someone there told me no need to drop it off it is a 1 hour job. Get here and they tell me they dont have the parts and its a 4 hour wait.Never again uhaul!
HORRIBLE customer service. Purchased a truck hitch with an UNLIMITED lifetime warranty. The product rusted terribly in just a few years. It is now unsafe to pull anything with it. Needless to say they found a way to NOT honor the warranty by losing my records over the years and tried to blame ME the customer for their lack of clerical ability. The hitch clearly says UHAUL stamped into it and is identifiable as one of their products. To top it off the salesman told me its fine, just scrape the rust and paint over it. Thanks for the advice, but I really dont want to see my trailer detach and go off the road on its own. Ill never do business here again and will be reporting this to the BBB.

Had wait am hour for an employee to actualy show up. And even then he tried to give an attitude.
Had a problem with trailer lights on a U-haul installed hitch from another location that didnt have anyone to look at it so they told me to call Holbrook. Called and they told me to bring it in. They took care of the warranty repair right away at no cost to me. It was a faulty component.

I was a worker here for a year. This place is very unfair to there workers horriable place to work. The manager Tom is a liar and a fake he keeps the bonuses all for himself. Lazy and rude to the workers.
