Great for online students... get out of the house. Do It Yourself Crafts is a fun way to get out of the house for online students. The folks there are friendly and helpful. You can choose lesser expensive items and go more frequently if you choose. Male and female type items, whimiscal and more practical projects, something for eveyone. My online highschool student and I try to go once a week!

Spent our adult daughter’s birthday here - the staff was amazing - very helpful & knowledgeable. Was one of the most relaxing atmosphere I have been in awhile - thank you Do It Yourself Crafts for allowing us to have a memorable birthday - if you are in the mood to do pottery - this is a must go to!!!

Great activity for the whole family. You can paint there or take it home. Plan on being there at least an hour if not longer! Prices range $-$$ so if you have a budget make sure you are checking the prices.

Absolutley LOVED this place! I went in unsure of if I would like it, but it was incredible! Great selection of items to paint! Very friendly and laid back staff. Even members of our group who deemed themselves horrible painters did an amazing job and had lots of fun.

I love coming here because you get to feel like a kid. Theres plenty of pottery and paint that you get to choose from and you really get to have your creative juices flowing! Ive been twice and gotten a feel on how to layer my paint now so I look forward to my other visits! I even convinced my boyfriend to go with me and hes already thinking of what to paint next! The glaze brings out the real colors so what is below is just the paint dried up. The only downside I will say is that when they glaze it, some parts could be thick and mess up some detail but its nothing too crazy. Thats just my opinion and it wont deter me from coming back!

A nice spot to go be crafty even if you are not the craftiest person, like myself. Julia and staff will show you and help you make beautiful pieces to keep or give as gifts. This angel is one of my favorites I have done there.

Do It Yourself Crafts offers a great opportunity for a fun family activity or a terrific outing with adult friends. My gal pals and I had a blast selecting what items to paint, picking colors and styles, and getting to be creative. The staff was super friendly and very helpful with anything we needed. We painted and did some glass pieces as well. A week later we were able to pick up our finished products and they looked SO great. We already have plans to go again!Id say to budget at least $20 per person to spend for the activity. Though it can definitely cost less than that, be aware that the less your budget, the less your options for what you can choose to paint.

This place is a hidden gem! Ive been looking for a place to paint bowls, plates, and cups and this place has everryyything! I just walked in and saw so many different things to choose from. A good place to kill time, have a date, or just to make a homemade present for somebody.

We have been here a few times and we always enjoy ourselves each time. The staff has always been pleasant and professional.

Super friendly staff. My kid had a blast making her craft. We went to a story time craft activity where they read a book, Dragons Love Tacos, and then made a little dragon to go with it. The children were encouraged to get messy in a very positive way. I loved it and will be back again!

This is a magical place. We had a birthday party there for our 7 year old and she,and her friends, had a blast! The staff are very friendly and super good with children. The registration process is also very easy.

It was a few weeks ago. We didnt get any kind of helpful directions. We told the person at the front that we had never been there before but received instructions as if we knew what to do and how to do it. We had to wait around and ask at every step what to do next. We were considering having a party there but were mostly confused throughout the process so we decided to go elsewhere.

We came here on a business team building exercise. Some of my employees thought it would be relaxing to paint ceramic pottery. Yeah.... Thats not in my skill set.When we arrived, the owner met us and asked us to pick out any item we wanted to paint. She then helped us select paint colors and demonstrated how to use them. She did refuse to paint mine for me. She also refused to sell me one already painted. Rats. I ended up having to paint my own. Which is quite possibly the most stressful thing I have ever done. The owner then offered to mail us our works of art since we live three hours away from their shop. That was great.But it was memorable. And it ended up being fun. In a weird, I need a drink kinda way. In the end, would I do it again? Absolutely.

So much fun. The woman working was so helpful and sweet. Prices are super reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Ive been to several events here and enjoyed myself every time. Im not super artistic, but the workers are really good at helping you pick out activities that you can do and helping you make your creation pretty. I did a glass fusing workshop that was really fun and super easy. And the owner is super nice. Ill definitely be back!

We had a girls weekend and visited the the DO it Yourself Crafts. We had so much fun and the staff was very friendly. We look forward to our next time and in fact are thinking about meeting up here every year.

I first heard about DIYC when my son attended a YMCA summer art camp that visited DIYC for pottery. He fell in love and RAVED about the place, the project, and the super nice people (his words as a little kid). We still display those pottery pieces in our home and he is very proud of them.Since then Ive attended girls nights for canvas painting (where the owner, Julia, really makes EVERYONE feel like a real artist), Christmas ornament painting, and glass fusing (probably my favorite craft class Ive ever taken - and there have been a LOT over the years). This is a place where everyone feels talented when they leave with their gorgeous new art.I loved the glass fusing class so much that I talked to the owner about guiding a group of 10 Cub Scouts, aged 9, through the class to earn one of their arts & crafts achievements and she took those boys and held their attention for an hour to complete some really wonderful works of art that they were SO PROUD OF and they had a lot of fun doing it! The environment is safe for kids even working with cut glass.Great shop. Great selection. Great prices. Wonderful staff. Caring owner. I only wish it was closer to my house so I could visit even more!

I discovered this store about 15 years ago when I lived down the street and had a newborn. I would pop in pushing a stroller and Julia, the owner, would steer me toward a project perfectly timed to coincide with naps. Mosaics, mugs, piggy banks - those were the days my family and friends got handmade gifts from me. They still point them out when I visit their homes. The best gift of all was when Julia packed me up with a painting party kit and my five siblings and I made a huge handprint platter for my dads 80th birthday. Hes almost 90 now and he keeps his remote control on his platter so that he gets to see it all the time. Every time I see it, I am reminded of how excited Julia got when we started talking about ideas for his birthday. Shes part therapist, part mentor, 100% the coolest creative spirit guide you will ever meet, and her store is a total reflection of that. I no longer live down the street but I still enjoy every visit and I leave there feeling inspired. Every time. You should go there immediately!

I have taken the Bham Girls Club here MANY times for a fun GNO. This place is awesome in that there are a million things to paint - pottery AND canvases, glass fusing, and so much more. The service is incredible, the prices awesome, and the selection is HUGE. They have worked with me every time I bring a group (or just friends) and make sure the experience is fun, educational, AND we turn out with something fun and pretty. Love love love this place and highly recommend going with a group of friends for a fun outing or just with your partner for an awesome date night.

The staff was friendly at my daughters birthday party here, however the manger/owner was Very rude and is not a people’s person. She didn’t try to help with picking options for the kids to do, it was more so they can’t do this or that. Advice to her in the future do say you guys do parties if parking is a problem for your location. Also, once I paid it was TIP MY STAFF.

I was in Alabama for daughters UAB graduation, from North Las Vegas, Nevada.We have gone to similar pottery places in Las Vegas, but NEVER had we been treated SO GREAT!!!Taylor, the young man that assisted us, was fun, encouraging, creative, gave great how to ideas, has an AWESOME personality.My daughter will DEFINITELY be coming back and bringing friends.I, TOO, when in Alabama will be back to visit with TAYLOR and do another craft!

I have been a patron of DIY Crafts for a couple of years now. I have taken both of my daughters to DIY Crafts and the staff has been great in helping me get squirming baby handprints and footprints onto the pottery. They make it very easy and painless. I also made the very cute ornaments that are my kids footprints into snowmen and their handprints into Santas. I like that the price on the pottery in the store is what you pay and includes all the costs. Ive been to places in the past where they keep tacking on fees after youve picked your piece, but here its all in the one cost listed with the piece. Ive done glass fusing as well here and it was a fun and they made it painless. If you need ideas or are at a loss, they will help guide you. They have everything that you could need to paint your pottery - stamps, stencils, etc. - including stencils for basically every SEC team (and lets face it, here in the South this is probably put on ceramics once a day).
