Ive bought a lot of cars in my life, this was by far the worst experience Ive ever had. My sales consultant Mose treated me like dirt from the time I walked in the door. He clearly did not want to sell me a car, he even tried to kill the deal twice because of his own ignorance. First he said I brought all the wrong documentation ( I didnt), then he said my car insurance wasnt set up properly (It was). Everytime I corrected him he became even more condescending. After wasting several hours on his ego I finally left with my new car, it was my first and last time buying from CarMax

The best part of the experience was purchasing. I had to have the car shipped (and had to pay for that), but test driving and dealing with my sales person was a breeze.The experience fell to pieces when there was service that needed to be done on the car. I had to bring it back (parts had to be ordered). First, there were breaks that need to be serviced. This is the second car in 3 months we’ve purchased from Carmax, and both needed new breaks after we purchased the car. What is the point of claiming they do an extensive inspection, if breaks have to be fixed after the sale? Also, I live an hour away from this store. I can’t just drop it off to be serviced.I called the day before my appointment to confirm my appointment time and to be sure the part came in. No one answered my call. I left a message. No one called back. I showed up the next day, and the service technician couldn’t find my appointment in the computer. It wasn’t bad enough that I tried to be proactive and call, but somehow the appointment wasnt in the computer at all! They acted like they were doing me a favor by “working me in.” Though the part had been ordered and was there, no one acknowledged they dropped the ball on making my appointment. Also, I received no explanation for my calls being unanswered and my messages not being returned. (While the service person was “working me in” he answered two calls while I waited.)As it turns out, I have to take my car back for more work. I called twice on one day and left a message both times. I called back a second day and actually talked to someone.There seems to be a serious problem with management.
The costumer service has become awful. I will be making three trips to have my vehicle serviced when it shouldve only taken one trip. I made an appointment to only get to my appointment for the service advisor Harry Wiley to tell me that I need to leave my vehicle because the person who set up the appointment has not ordered the parts for the work to be done and he dosent know when theyll be able to get the work done. I left the store and no one including Harry Wiley my service advisor setting up another appointment. I had to call back to set up another appointment and was told by Harry Wiley that I need to be patient (this was 4 hours later).I asked to talk with the service manager he never came to speak with me about the many inconveniences theyre causing me to get my vehicle serviced. The service Manager refused to speak with me but told Harry Wiley to offer me a $25 credit for the next time I come in for a service. Every since the former service manager Ryan left this is the type of service theyre offering. Most of the staff seems to be under extreme pressure because theyre not as friendly as they have been. I encourage everyone to go a dealership that takes pride in their costumer service process. Finally when a ticket is closed you normally get an email asking how did we do. Well I didnt get one because Wiley who needs to be home rocking in a chair on the porch knew Id tell it like it is. The costumer service Manager needs replacing.

Never again! I took my son to get a Toyota Camry on April 10, 2021. He gets there and theres no Camry. There is, however, a Nissan Altima. Desperate to have something...anything to drive, he caved. Only THREE months later, the transmission is shot. Not only that, theyve not communicated ONCE during the THREE FULL WEEKS that theyve had his car as to the plans. Now, Mr. Transmission has it and no one knows what anyone else is doing. If you want honesty and openness, go elsewhere. Im done with them and their non-existent customer service. My son is quiet and reserved, I am not. I believe wholeheartedly that this is a tactic they use to get cars sold; sell the good car online, then only have lemons when a person is STRANDED in their lot and desperately needs a car.
Fast and easy, but I knew exactly what I wanted. They forgot a few of the paper work pieces, but we got it done. The service people are always friendly. You have to stay in contact with them and be the one in charge, but then again, that’s with every business.
Bought a car after having it shipped to the store, 2 days later lol light comes on. I take it back and the fix it or so they thought. 5 days goes by and oil light comes on again, I take it back again and they ended up doing an oil consumption test and sure enough burning oil. So they returned the car and have shipped me a newer model from another store. So far my experience has been great as far as the customer service. The first vehicle it’s understandable how they missed it. No harm no foul!

We had a great experience getting our vehicle transferred, inspected, and purchased through Carmax. We appreciated that Carmax offered to replace the windshield entirely since there were a few small cracks, and we’re happy with the return policy and warranty. Customer service was great and we really like the no-hassle experience provided by Carmax.
At first they could not find nor fix the problem with my car. But the manager took over and he with the help of another mechanic, found the problem and fixed it. They did not charge me anything. I really should give them a five star.
My experience was predominantly excellent, my complaints are primarily in regards to the service department and warranty issues. I was able to get exactly what I wanted and get the paperwork done within a few hours. Within a few hundred miles though, my battery went bad. The service department never responded to a single voicemail, so I ended up buying a battery. I contacted a sales manager to find out what I might need to do to get refunded for my battery, and I followed his instructions. My request was rejected by the warranty department because the receipt didn’t have my name or the vin number for the vehicle on it. I can only hope that I don’t have any more issues with my truck, because I’m not confident that they will take care of what needs to be done without giving me the runaround

Unless they have just the perfect car for you, Id check out Toyota down the street, or Tameron on Lorna.You just get bad vibes from a car lot some times, and at this place I felt like a piece of meat in a room full of wolves.Reason I still gave three stars, they do auctions on mondays, so if you arent afraid of getting a lemon, you CAN luck out and get a car for auction price

I reported an issue with my vehicle before the 7 day grace period. I kept the vehicle because I was assured that the vehicle would be repaired properly. This was August 2020. I have been back and forth to the service center on 5 different occasions and my vehicle is still not repaired nor will they give me my money back for the vehicle. The vehicle has been in need of repairs longer than I have been able to drive it. Do Not Shop Carmax!

Parents had a great offer on their car from Carmax. Their accord had very low mileage, was driven just around town, rarely on the highway, well maintained! Went out and carmax found frame damage to our car that has never be in a wreck, in the shop, etc. Lowered their offer significantly. Very disappointed and see it as a complete scam!

This has been by far the absolute worst buying experience of my life. For one vehicle my credit was ran 9 times. I never got to talk to the same salesman twice and it took 5 visits to the store to finally end up getting a vehicle that I didn’t want. We had picked out a very nice 4Runner and had to pay to have to it shipped to our local store. Due to them having to repair a couple things, the vehicle was placed on hold. Before we were ever notified that it was ready, it was shipped to another store and sold out from under us. So then the whole process had to be started over on another vehicle which wasn’t really what we wanted and now there is a new problem with it every day. This place has been an absolute nightmare. I will NEVER spend another dime at this horrible place. Do not recommend Carmax to anyone!!

It isn’t easy to get an appointment and then the service staff have been rude every time I’ve been in. One problem after another. I would not recommend buying from here and I will never do it again.

3 stars because my issues were eventually taken care of. Bought a truck with a guarantee that they would have a keyless entry on the truck. Took 2 and a half hours off work to take it to be programmed only to be told that they for some reason cant do it. Wasted 2 and a half hours of my day. They eventually said they would have a aftermarket keyless entry installed. Give me a loaner car and it was completed within 2 days. Sam the salesman was great! Brian the sales manager was great as well!
Was forgotten about on the first visit....then they couldnt verify my payoff even though I showed them my ten day payoff.Returned on following visit and Gwen and her fellow employees made my second visit a very good one.Gwen should be running the place....oh wait...she does already and is wonderful.My offer was same as online offer and was satisfied with that.oh BUT they didnt give me my tag off the front of my truck!!

We had the best experience buying our car there 3 weeks ago. Had our financing pre approved before we walked on the lot so we picked the best interest rate before we arrived. Ty Williams and Aaron Snipes at the Hoover location took care of everything. We told them our budget and they never pressured to go above that. Had one car shipped for free from Georgia to test drive (we bought that one) and did a 24 hour test drive on what was our second choice while we waited. Couldnt ask for a better experience. My experience was great. My check engine light came on in less than 30 days and they telling me I need to wait almost two weeks before they can tell me why a check engine light is on.
Purchased a vehicle over a month ago. Had a couple of things that needed fixing. Picked up the vehicle on a Friday evening. I put less than 25 miles on the car and 6 other problems were found. Took it back to the service department on Monday. After 24 days in the shop, I get a call that it is ready. Pick it up to find that one major item hasnt been fixed and a new problem cropped up. Never took it off the lot. Fearing the end of their 30 day guarantee, I apply for my money to be refunded. To their credit, they apologized and are providing a refund. However, THE REFUND WILL BE MAILED TO ME WITHIN 14 DAYS. I have already been without a car for a month and now I have to wait another 14 days before I can go purchase another one. They sure didnt allow me 14 days to send them a check when I bought the car, they make you show your bank balance to prove that your check wont bounce before they will accept your check as payment. I have to purchase another vehicle, but it sure wont be from Carmax.
I give this place five stars because of my favorite car salesman, Lorenzo! He helped me get the car that I want, 2019 dodge challenger. Hes very helpful. I would recommend anybody to go to Car Max to see Lorenzo (he has your back).
I was told there would be no doc fee but when I was shown the bill of sale it included a processing fee of $ 299. I was told that was different!!! It was an untruth(lie) and they will play word games. Beware!!

The whole process was so easy. I was able to find the vehicle that I wanted, and for a price that I could afford. Unfortunately, the one that I wanted was not at the the location closest to me, so they transferred it there. I test drove it, loved it, and less than two hours later I was driving it home. Everyone was so friendly, and went out of their way to help me with any questions that I happened to have. I will definitely use them again!
The salesman was great but the car inspection was a FAIL. Drove home only to find out the car was missing a lug nut, front fog light was out, rear seat was torn, out of coolant, and was missing inside door handle caps. Was given a loaner for a week while they addressed the problem but all that could have been avoided with good inspection.

They were very busy when we arrived at our appointment time but the Sales Manager assisted us himself until a Sales Rep was available. We sold and bought that day and both transactions were very smooth. Desks were spaced far apart, also, so it felt safe. And I love my new car!
