My friend brought me here as a welcome to the area after I moved here a couple months ago, and I can say I love this place. The quality is yummy and wonderful. Great selection. Fresh. While they get busy, it’s tolerable because I mean it’s simply delicious!

Woke up Sunday morning wanting a cinnamon roll. Theirs had no icing or cream cheese frosting not even the donut frosting. They were good but no icing play games with my taste buds. Service was good and fast.

Shipleys is a great little Shop. Theyve got donuts. Donut holes. Kolaches. And drinks. Open everyday except Monday.I ordered a jalapeño sausage kolaches and an apple crisp. Yummy!!!

Arrived on a very busy Sunday morning, around 8:30 a.m. there was a bit of a line but they were moving it along quite efficiently. All smiles, seemed like a very happy crew all together, even though we had to talk louder through the sheet of plastic between us, it was a fun and professional experience.

Everything is great, highly recommend their kolaches (any), bear claws and blueberry cake doughnuts.

Always fresh and delicious. My Sunday morning pickup is a chocolate covered bavarian cream filled, an apple fritter, and a ham and cheese kolache. Im set for breakfast, lunch, and sacking.

Years ago I used to work near the location on Lorna Rd. I visited often, move back to bham, visited in April 2021, very disappointed, what used to be large delicious glazed donuts have been reduced to half the recognizable size. Finally chose a cinnamon roll.No I will not be back, different atmosphere. TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING!!

You cant go wrong with Shipley chocolate filled donuts and when you pair it with great customer service, it makes you want to go back right away.

Writing a review for my dad who went earlier this week. He pulled up and an employee brought out his apple fritter (always awesome choice). While delivering it, the employee saw that he was wearing a military shirt and asked if he had served. The employee thanked him for his service and spent some time talking to him. That employee had no idea how much he needed a pick me up that day. It meant so much!

I love this place. My grandsons came to visit from Florida. They love doughnuts with pink glaze and sprinkles. This was the only place in the Hoover area that had them. Love Shipleys apple fritters (pictured), as well as their chocolate doughnut with creme filling. Personal preference, though, Krispy Kremes glazed doughnuts are better than Shipleys. But to each their own.

This is THE local place for doughnuts amongst other things. A customer centric team and owners very dedicated to the community. Son and I make it a ritual to go there at least weekly. Worth going out of your way for the freshest pastries, order larger quantities in advance and support a wonderful local establishment.

Stopped by this morn for a cinnabun and a kaloshi.. Shipleys is always delish. I got extra icing for my cinnabun w/raisins and my jalapeño kolashi was got with a homemade bun stuffed with cheese and zmoked sausage!! Yel it hit the spot!! Right bow Theyre taking orders at your car and delivering it to you. Yes ill take the fancy service!! Lol

The Kolaches are the best around. I enjoy a split box of 6 sausage and cheese and 6 sausage, cheese and jalapeno. The donuts are great as well. These are some of the sweetest ladies you will meet.

Beloved childhood memories exist here and it still holds all of the same magic as it did all of those years ago. Affordable and without pretense- it is still as good as it was when I came in my little mermaid overalls holding my dad’s hand 20 years ago. My current favorites are the jalapeno, sausage and cheese kolaches and theblueberry cake donuts.

Passing through. Bought 4 or 5 donuts, plus a bear claw... cost @ $9.50.Seems pricier than last time I was here and donuts not as good as I recall.

Nice selection of donuts. Get there early to have a better pick of donuts. They have a different taste than other donut shops. I miss being able to go inside.

I grew up going to Shipleys I went with my dad since I could eat solid food at the location in Greenville Mississippi 40yrs. I moved to north Atlanta Ive had people bring me some any chance I could everytime I go back to Ms I get a lot my kids even love them. Shipley s has never disappointed until today. We drove over 3hrs 400+ miles and $40 is what we spent. They tasted worse than DD and were not as fresh the Shipley flavor was not there it like yall made them with the wrong ingredients. Most of them are still on my counter and will not be eaten needless to say I will not be back a big THANKS to Hoover Al for messing up my most fond memories . I will email corporate office Monday morning it was complete trash. I recommend nobody go better coffee and do nuts at DD.

It was an amazing quiet little shop with great donuts, they have so many varieties of flavors including cinnamon twist. They also have these little hot pocket type things that have a meat and cheese in them. My favorite is the jalepeno sausage and cheese, its also cheap and the staff is always nice

Best donut I ever had. Not a chain donut. Very much like a yeast roll but sweet. Try this little family business for something different, they also have breakfast sandwiches. Really good.

I think that all of the employees are very friendly and I have recommended the bakery to my colleagues. My orders are always ready and fresh at the times that I requested. I am a frequent customer, at least twice a week. I highly recommend Shipleys to anyone.

Never a disappointment but the owner really needs to think about sprucing the place up. The porch on the place could be dressed up a bit as could the inside dining area.

Delicious and fresh doughnuts. This was my first time visiting and I was welcomed with a smile, they were happy to assist me and kept their patience while I decided what flavors to get. I was overjoyed about the price as well, I got 25 doughnuts for just over $20 (including tax)!
