The food was great!! I got the meatballs and cheese ravioli, my husband got the salmon with crab meat.. portions were big and the server was amazing! Definitely a must try!
Its been many years since Ive been in this diner. Its had a makeover since I was there last and it looks wonderful. Food was as good as I remembered it to be.
We asked to sit outside and they graciously accommodated us. Apparently there was a little confusion and it took a little while to get a table bussed, menus, drinks etc. But once they got that straightened out everything was great! Food was good, server was nice, came back to check on us and refill our drinks. We really appreciate the extra effort on their part, especially with a party of eight.

Stopped here for a quick bite on the way home from a business meeting. Service was excellent. I’ve been here before and knew what to expect. The patty melt was juicy and thus very good, although I wish it were a little less well done. Fries were fresh. The place is huge and always busy, a testament to its quality and value. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!

I have driven past this Diner many times and never had time to stop. Today I finally had time and I was very pleasantly surprised. Now I know how the Diner has stayed in business so long. Very nice waitress! The Chicken Aegean special was excellent. I enjoyed my meal and have enough leftovers for 2 more meals. What a deal!
Beyond disappointed. My husband and I each ordered a Boneless Ribeye Steak costing $22.95 each. What we received were two pieces of thin, shoe-leather-like meat that was completely indigestible. The pieces were also small and not worthy of the cost. We thought of returning them but I have a relative who works in the food service industry, and she advised me long ago to avoid returning food because chefs and their staffs have ways of enacting revenge on customers whom they perceive to be difficult. Our solution: We will not return to the Red Lion Diner.
Stop by for a quick take out to go lunch. Chicken Cesar wrap. Nice portion of chicken and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. Even the fries were crisp and not soggy. Excellent meal.

We are blown away by the Vegan menu! First time having the cheese steak sandwich from here and we liked it! His was the loaded cheese steak with mozzarella shreds and mine was the regular one. The cheese sauce was a basic potatoes and carrot recipe, Ive made before, not bad at all. Needed alittle more salt or nutritional yeast in it. IMO... Was sad thought they were out of the Vegan muffins and icecream :(Looking forward to going back and trying something new each time :)Keep it up!

Nice diner with a bar. Breakfast available all day. Large menu which includes an entire page of entree salads. Had chicken parmesan and Philly cheese steak open face sandwiches. Good but nothing outstanding. The winner here are the extraordinary desserts! Fantastic!

Ive always wondered about this sober on the circle. I cobalt had to me to stop. Food was fine, waitress was abrupt, not friendly at all. Took carrot cake home to the hubby and he said it was on the dry side.

We went there for breakfast. The food was good and so was the service. This was the 1st time we have been in a diner since COVID. Overall a very nice place. Would love to go back for dinner sometime in the future.
Was a bit disappointed in my breakfast i ordered. Was a reserved event for apx 13 ppl i ordered eggs Benedict with crab meat i had to send back because the muffins were burnt. So i didnt get to eat with our party. But other than that was a good time. Mistakes happen 🤙
We ate dinner there and ordered the pasta platter with mussels,mushrooms, shrimp& scallops over linguini. After tasting it, I told my wife that someone in the kitchen knows how to cook ! The meal tasted delicious ! So happy we ordered that platter ! It also came with soup or salad and desert. I Ordered split pea soup and it tasted great and my wife ordered salad and it was good.For desert I had the tapioca pudding and my wife ordered rice pudding which was great. The cost of the dinner was approx.$19.00 but well worth it after tasting everything.The service was very good ! Friendly ! We are planning to come back again ! Hope you enjoy it too !
We ordered Shepard pie. It was dry and weird tasting. A cup of gravy on the side was thick as peanut butter. Tapioca desert had zero favor. Waitress never came back to offer more coffee or anything. Ive passed this place for years,,, I will continue to pass it.
As close to a traditional Jersey diner as you will find in the area. They also have a wide selection of delicious, homemade dishes that are reasonably priced for the portion sizes.
Super shout out to Red Lion Diner! We are not from around there. Had already driven over 2 hours and still had an hour to get home. Stopped for dinner. Right around 9pm. We were seated and orders taken. Waitress was super polite, as were all others. Not even thinking bc our diners are open 24/7. Asked around 930 what time they close so we could hurry out, figuring they closed at like 10. They close at 9! Still seated us and took great care of us! Thank you Red Lion!!!

Went on a random Tuesday after work with two small children. Waited 45 minutes for chicken fingers and a Caesar wrap. Ended up walking out without food and going to McDonald’s

*I work in customer service and I am well aware it can be a hassle* HOWEVER, Hostess’ at payment counter need to check themselves. Atrocious attitudes and they CONSISTENTLY treat customers like an inconvenience. Unacceptable. Weekend management took my call (not one of the owners whom I enjoy immensely), but no change among waitresses/hosts at all. If you don’t like working in customer service, please find a new job. This diner will continue to lose long-standing customers like my family & I.

One of first customers of day,weekday opening at 8 am, near busy traffic circle which thought kinda odd to begin with. Thought pricing to be a little high maybe why not real crowded, that and breakfast crowd already wanted to eat by than.??? Just saying.

We had a fantastic lunch experience with my family today at the Red Lion. The food was delicious and the service was tremendous. They have a 4 course dinner soup, salad, entree, sides and huge chocolate cake for dessert. We brought food home for later. This is my go to restaurant in the future. Oh great prices too. Thank you for going the extra mile!

All sandwiches comes with frys slaw,tamota, you cant get plan,the problem is it costs more. I just wanted 2 sandwiches. And it took forever, berger was not cooked I asked for medium. Didnt get it.20.00 went in garbage......
Nice Italian restaurant, great food, but wasnt like any diner Ive ever been to. Prices were up there, not like a regular diner. As stated before, great food and lots of it. Staff is very attentive, but didnt hover. This is NOT a greasy spoon situation.

So, I normally dont do this but I have to share this because of how upset I was ....This past Saturday my family and I went to the RED LION DINER. I literally grew up in this diner, ate there all the time, worked there, my sister worked there, etc. This is the diner my family has been going to for over 30 years.There is a server there that is extremely rude in the multiple times I have had her. Very grumpy, basically has thrown plates at me, doesnt check in, etc. Shes only nice when she drops the check and sometimes not even then. I have waitressed for a long time and know the effort, time and work it takes to be a server and I always treat my servers with kindness, respect and typically always get over 20%.Well, on Saturday, I went into the diner and asked to not have this particular waitress. Okay no problem, right?NOPE! when I asked the manager who sat us to not have her, he rolled his eyes at me originally. We then sit and you see the waitresses coming to look at my family and are clearly gossiping. We let it go until the end of our time there. We were leaving and the waitress I asked to not have, swiped her body against me and my boyfriends as we were signing into the kiosk and says I dont even know who they are to another waitrrss. Then as were paying, both are making rude comments about hating people, talking about my family and how we ruined a waitresss reputation. It was like they did it intentionally for us to hear but I dont think they expected to respond. When my mom turned around and said something the one says nothing and I see her make a face at my mom. So of course, we called the manager out and complained.Everything about this situation was so unprofessional and rude. The manager did nothing, one of the servers even tried to chime in during the convo and a host was standing there watching ans listening the whole time until we left. The one server says she just didnt know who you were and wanted to know, and that wasnt the case. You could hear their comments and were just trying to cover their own butt. Its a shame bc the other server who was making comments always did a good job and we liked her until this situation. She even said I dont think Ive served you and then i said yes you have and all of a sudden shes like oh yeah... they were just playing those cards and its honestly so upsetting. The way we were treated that whole time was rude, sad and extremely unprofessional.Working in hospitalilty and the restaurant industry- this was just so ridiculous. It is normal anywhere to not request a server and to request a favorite. The way we were treated at the RED LION DINER was actually ridiculous and I wont be going back now. The entire time we were there we felt like we had targets on our back, knew we were being stared at and talked about. I have spoken to several people about the waitress we didnt want and many have had the same complaint.All we did was request to not have her and were treated horribly. When I go out i would like to tip and give money to my servers who are kind and do a good job, not just throw plates at me and are rude.I hate to be this person, but there was no reason to be treated the way we were snd I think people should know.

First timer... I was in the mood for some Apple Pie, and they did not disappoint. Covid rules were in effect, but did not diminish the quality of my food or personality waitress (Even though I couldnt see her mouth I could feel her eagerness and see her smile on her face). The reception guy was also cheerful when seating and ringing up my bill. I will be back.P.S. My waitress suggested Ice Cream on the Apple Pie... OMG - So Good!!! Thank you 😋I highly recommend eating here...

Holy cow this is a top notch amazing diner with great servers! They have outside dining and there menu is a full menu not short in the least. They have a huge selection of dairy and gluten free entrees I was so happy to see all the options available in those categories. I had a gluten free tu no sandwich with fries and it was very good. It came with lentil soup that was out of this world delicious and For dessert I had the vegan vanilla ice cream which was the best vegan vanilla ice cream I have ever had in my life. This place was so impressive and amazingly good between the flavors and atmosphere Im going back today for dinner I cant stop thinking about how great this place was so happy I stopped here. The owners must be very proud of their restaurant its the perfect jersey diner !! 👍👍
I havent had french toast this good since my grandmothers. Loved the subtle brown sugar and cinnamon on the toast and in the butter. The bacon was a perfect compliment. 10/10
The young man that waited on us was Awsome. Was my first time visiting this establishment and the food was great. I will definitely recommend and plan to return in the future.
The services was not well and one waitress yelled so loud that you jump out of you sit ! The food wasnt that enjoyable either will not be going back there anytime soon !
