Took my MIL to this place to find appliances for her new house. We were instantly greeted by a lady, & the owner, Roy, was sitting at his desk & warmly greeted us as well. We expressed what we were looking for & the young lady was very helpful with helping us find things my MIK liked. She came up with a price for everything & gave us a discount. The owner gave us an additional discount after we expressed we were paying cash. They were both extremely kind & reasonable with pricing. Delivery was promised the next day & everything was installed by the delivery man. The stove wouldn’t fit on his truck & he promptly returned with it the same day. He ensured each item was in working condition before leaving. Brand new appliances for an affordable price from great people. :)

This establishment is located at the NE corner of Bingle & Hey 290. They sell used and scratch & dent appliances. The attendant wants to charge more than what the item is marked at. He also wants cash only which suspect because if the appliance doesnt work I think that one would have a hard time getting their money back. Most of the inventory is outside exposed to the elements. The few items that are inside are priced at above what national outlets are asking for.

I got a fantastic deal, brand new in the box Whirlpool washer and dryer set with same day delivery and set up for less than $1,000.If your in need of appliances thats definitely the place to go shop for a good reasonable deal.

I have been to many places to get a great deal. This place offers great prices for brand new items. I decided to stay away from refurbishes because old appliances are like old cars. They sometimes have problems so if its issues you dont want go new.Mr. Roy will give you a great deal on cash items.Also the ladies in there are very nice. Robin was sweet.

If I could pick ZERO stars, I would!!!DO NOT under any circumstances buy a refurbished refrigerator from this establishment!!! We have had nothing but problems since they came out to “repair” our old fridge. We decided not to repair and instead buy a refurbished refrigerator from them. The first one they brought us never worked. After 2 months of arguing with them, they finally reluctantly agreed to bring us another refrigerator (for another $250) We should have learned our lesson the first time. The second refrigerator they brought us lasted 4 months until the compressor went out. They came out for service $60, and said to fix it would be $600-700. The owner Roy takes zero ownership and makes excuses. The customer service is TERRIBLE, and the reliability of the appliances they are selling is definitely a gamble. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Beware! Like other similar reviews, I didnt reach out directly to 290 Appliances, they were subcontracted by another appliance repair number so I wasnt even able to read the awful reviews until after the fact. They sent someone out who scammed me; IE charged me money for a repair that was not done properly and then ghosted me. Left us with no operational oven for several weeks while leading us on the whole time. When I reached out to the supervisor/owner at 290 appliances, there was little sympathy to be had and I was told I would have to pay for any subsequent labor/parts on top of the money I had already been burned on by THEIR employee. So I will be starting over and taking my work elsewhere. Very disappointing, would NOT recommend.

Great deals. We ordered a fridge because ours went out the gave us a good deal on a pretty much brand new fridge. Good people for sure. Only reason i didnt put 5 stars is because of that we are waiting on some door handles and still havent received them or a call that they are in yet. They were supposed to be in last monday.

Booked for an appointment between 3-5, they did call to tell me that they would be there at 3:15 but they were a no show. When I called them they said the could not make it until Monday, HUGE disappointment after waiting for 3 days for an appointment.

Went in quickly picked my Washer paid the money. The gentleman stated it would be delivered the next morning around 10:am. I received a call this morning about 9:40 stating they were awaiting a helper. So I am now looking at about 12:noon. I then call about 12;30 realizing that I haven’t received the 30 minute call he stated I would receive. I called back the young lady that answered the phone she stated it would be to my home no later then 2. It’s now 2:38 I have called 2 times in the last 30 minutes I was told that someone on the truck would called. I then called back after 30 minutes he now tells me that it will be at my home in 45 minutes which means about 3:15pm. Never in my 4 calls did they apologize for the inconvenience..... I have wasted a entire day waiting and missed 2 doctor appointments,

Great spot to find the right appliance at the RIGHT price!

Went in to get a used fridge for the garage a week before Covid hit so I can stash up on food. Had the fridge delivered and the fridge didn’t cool as it should. Called them a couple days after and there was no answer so I assumed they were closed since the city shut down. Waited a week to call back and spoke to the female salesperson who sold me the fridge, and she straight up asked me why I waited so long. I had about $200 of food go bad. Had to pay $75 for a service person (who works for them) to come out to look at it. Said it needed parts. They Never ordered the parts. Got involved with the owner Roy and he said it would be fixed for free. Today is June 19 and it’s been 3 months. Nothing has been done. Called them back and told them to not even worry about it anymore. They didn’t even try to make it right as I’m sure they’re glad To not have to worry about it. They just care about a quick sale. Had I picked up the fridge and took it home I would’ve been responsible for it not working. They advised me of that and upsold me on delivery charge also yet nothing was done to fix it. So not only am I out on the price of the fridge, but delivery charge and $75 service call to not have anything done. I understand I signed saying I understood the 1 year warranty on parts, but will have to pay for labor if anything went wrong, but I don’t feel I should have to pay for anything after a few days of having it, and it was delivered by their people.

Bought a washer and dryer that seemed in decent shape and was reassured they were functional, but got home and found the heating coil in the dryer was not working. Called to ask if it could be replaced but was told it was sold as is and (my favorite part) that “I should really read things before I sign them”.

Great place to go, been going for years never have been disappointed. Just bought another w/d set for $750 in great condition looks like its never been touched and going back for a fridge i put on hold next week. I recommend this place for anyone Mr. Roy is a honest business man and great to work with and thats why i give it 5 stars.

Purchased a 2019 LG washing machine from 290 Appliance, it had some damage near the left rear bottom that didnt look too bad, however when I got the unit home it was clear there was something seriously wrong with the unit and would shake violently when spinning, and the front door would not close properly. 290 Appliance refused to let me return the unit (for a refund) and would NOT send someone out to repair, even after telling me several times they would. I had to have the unit repaired at my own expense, and it turned out to be broken shock on the bottom of the unit. After the repair, It is working better now (still not perfect), but at least usable now. Ill chalk this up to a leaning experience to never do business with 290 again.

BEWARE!!!!!!!Do not buy from here if I can give negative starts I would these people dont warranty their items. I bought a washer and dryer set from them 3 months ago. Its been at their shop getting repaired I washed 1 load of load this dude really trying to say its my fault the washer isnt working. Now he wants me to pay for repairs. Save the money buy new or from a place that actually warranty their parts. This will be the 3rd time bringing this washer back for repairs. Not only did I need to buy a $80 part myself and install because it was previously stripped. BEWARE!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!

This place is horrible. I purchased a $1200 Refrigerator and a $450 dishwasher in less than one month the icemaker went out in the refrigerator stop cooling.The owner and his staff was rude and unprofessional and did not want to deal with the fact that him and his staff is incompetent. They charge $60 to come out and made no attempt to work with my schedule. This is why most African Americans do to patronize black businesses. Bad service and unprofessional Owner and staff. Yes the African American owner was ignorant and not able to deal with a disgruntled customer. To the point where he refused to service my refrigerator. DO NOT BUY FOR THE PLACE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. 😠😠😠😠😠.Horrible Horrible!!!I purchased my items less than 40 days ago not a year ago. I have had to pay $350 for new compressor and $120 for a new ice maker. I have now paid $ 1200 plus tax’s plus $350 and $120. This is the place. I understand that you cannot always come service items on my schedule. However after spending also $2000 with your business I would think you could at lease made an effort. Disgruntled customers are a part of business. I requested twice if you could come out before 3p because I had to go to work and both times you all could not make it happen. Called Freeport Appliances who send 290 Appliances out to my home. I have a Whirlpool oven. Temperature sensor was out. Cheap part.Worker called back to the office to report. Came back with a price of 469 to replace the temperature sensor.When I told the manager on the phone that I could buy a new oven for a similar price, he responded by asking me to come up with a better price. In my mind, I didn’t clock in to work today, so why I’m making the prices is beyond me.Lack of respect for your time - showed up outside of the promised windowWould not use them again.

Dont buy from here! They dont back their warranty. My refrigerator stopped working almost immediately. Three attempts to fix it and still not working. Now they keep saying that they are interviewing services techs. Probably because no one wants to work at such a bad place. I asked for my money back, but they have refused. I guess they changed their name from Scratch and Dent to hid their bad reputation, but still the same problem. Google Ted Oberg and you will see the type of people that you are dealing with.
