The trailer was nicely built. Love it!... but thats about it. Expect to spend more... The warranty is free, but there are charges. The trailer I purchased is an adjustable, customized aluminum boat trailer. Forked out nearly $3k for it to have it built to fit my bass tracker. Upon picking up my trailer I was told, After you first set your boat on it just bring it in and we can adjust the railings to fit the boat for you. I bring it in; Its $220 plus tax to adjust the railings to fit your boat. Im like WHAAAAAT?... Then, the lights on the trailer are under warranty for one year. I put my boat in the water three times and my driver side light goes out. I called. Bring it in and well look at it and replace it it needed. Theres no charge since its still under warranty. I haul my boat/trailer for almost an hour. Theres a $20 charge for shop fee, you know, for the grease, wrench, screwdriver, etc... Im like, WHAAAAAT? I can buy a new set of lights for $20, not to mention the amount of gas and time I just put in... Im like, everything is still under warranty. Yes, but there are charges. I was referred to McClain because they take care of you... now I know EXACTLY what that means... sad.
My trailer had a bearing blow out coming from Galveston heading home to Dallas and I was in a bad neighborhood near downtown Houston. I called around and got a hold of McClain trailers and explained to them what happened. This was at about 1 pm and they close at 4:30. They told me if I could get my axle to them they would try and get a new one out the same day. I showed up with my axle and leaf springs at 3 pm. They took my parts back and built me an axle and I was out the door by 4:15. One of the workers told me that the GM went back there and told them to stop what they were doing and lets get this guy back on the road. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS! I had my truck break and my boat motor break that weekend and to have the trailer break on the way home, and have these guys get me back to the house the same day was amazing! Super quality work too! it looks great and now I can trust my trailer for more coastal trips. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Took my trailer in for service & had the privilege to meet both Scott and Michael. Both gentlemen were friendly and courteous. The repairs and adjustments were made in a timely manner.
