Granel remodeled a few years ago and the new space is fantastic! Its like a spice library with at least a hundred bulk bins, including blends, herbs, dried fruits - just so many options, you need to see it for yourself. You can buy by the scoop or choose a prebagged option.Its also a yerberia with medicinal herbs, roots, etc. They have lovely crystals, jewelry, and natural bath and beauty products. I love walking around, getting inspiration from the vast selection.The next time you need to refill your cumin jar, skip the big grocery store and visit Granel! Oh and its right next to the delicious wonderland that is El Bolillo Bakery ...

Nice little store. Lots of spices, dried peppers, herbs and crystals to choose from. You can scoop your own spices or buy the prepackaged ones they have. The lime pepper spice is AMAZING!!! The people that work here are really nice and knowledgeable. Just tell them what you need and they will direct you to what herbs/spices will help. Make sure you drink some cinnamon tea while you are there!

My first visit was amazing. Everything was clean organized and labeled. Customer service was superb. I found all spices I needed..the tea section is phenomenal. I like the fact of having all your metaphysical needs available spices teas sage candles etc. ..oh my the courtesy tea was amazing..if you need spices and everything nice..I strongly recommend Granel Spice Market

This place was also known as Lone Star Culinary /Flores Spice Company its a great place too. This is where I get most of my spices from. Economical as well. Most spices average $4-$5 per bottle. This place is priced per scoop (starting at $2.and up)/per pound (starting at $4.and up), the ample scoop is like buying 2 1/2 bottles. Quality /Quantity for your money. They also have a herbalists if youre interested in natural remedies for various illnesses. Tell them your issues and theyll suggest a natural remedy.

I like the store it’s cool, they got a lot of good stuff, I think this is the only store I’ve fund eucalyptus smudge sticks and they had lot of options for smudging at decent prices...my only thing is which is kinda major to me, is some of the crystals I’ve bought from here we’re just glass, just 3 out of the 7 I got....which was really disappointing....the prices aren’t to bad but if it’s imitation I would rather know that before buying....this store can be really useful but you have to be cautious and know what your looking for

We like to visit this store at this location because they have a lot of spice selection, you can pick what you need in small or big quantities and normally you will found what are you looking for they have Mexican Candys, Mexican games, among other things. The staff always treat us very friendly 😃

This business never ever disappoints. You can find a wide range of natural products. Staff is friendly and helpful. I even got my pooch his own mal de ojo necklace made by special order. They were open to making it for him when I inquired. Hes gotten so many compliments.

This market is very professional with its herbs and spices! Much better than buying from Etsy — I got all the herbs I needed for a much better price I would have otherwise. They also have some crystals and candles; a great one stop shop if you’re wanting to get started in witchcraft, or cooking! I’ll definitely be back.

I love the variety of herbs and spices in one store. However I don’t like the fact I was cheated out of my product and money. I purchased 1 oz of herbs but upon check out I noticed they weighed less than 1 oz. When I bought it to the cashiers attention she try to explain its the weight of the bag. I didn’t expect to be charged for the weight of the bag but my products. One 1 oz is still one oz especially if the bag does or doesn’t weigh. I feel I was cheated out of product and money for that I will not return. Please check the weigh distribution before purchasing. I was charged $5 for three quarters of a ounce should have been more like $3.75.

I love this place and have been visiting very often since my first visit. The staff is amazing & they have absolutely everything you need to help heal your body naturally, on top of many other amazing natural products! I’m definitely a regular here🤗

First time visiting this place and Imust say I was impressed with the selection they had to offer as well as the friendly staff. I have found my new spot and will visit regularly.

While they have a lot of selection they definitely take advantage and rip you off. They were selling 2 ounce of eucalyptus for 10 dollars. I saw her pour the leafs in the bag to measure 1.6 ounces on the scale and still charge me for 2 ounces. Now that I am doing the math she mentioned the pound was $40 which would make it $2.50 an ouce. Total rip off. I would suggest going somewhere else.

Great store and very culturally driven. Great variety of bulk items including teas with health benefits and lots of different spices. Cannot wait to visit again! PS. Bring your own produce bags if going zero-waste or low waste.

I’ve been coming here for about 2 years maybe always had the best service. Prices are a bit pricy but the herbs are great unfortunately today the young girl with blonde hair that was working could of been a bit more nice. At the end while I was going for my bag she just drops it on the counter as she sees my hand reaching for it. I get the pandemic but come on girly customer service. She also told me I couldn’t buy only 2 oz because they sell 4oz for $10I’ve never had any other employee tell me. For example youre telling me if the jar says $60 for a lb I HAVE to but the whole pound? NoShe also tried over charging my mom when I paid for the exact same thing.She didn’t completely ruin my experience :( I will return of course I would recommend to just ask to be helped by any other employee 🙃

I visited today after passing by several times... It did not disappointed me one bit. As soon as we entered the first thing that hits you is the smell. Its overwhelming, its everywhere then the colors hit you 😁. Its amazing how many different spices exist in the world. The staff here is so welcoming, friendly and ready to answer your questions. That free cinnamon tea by the register is quite charming. I highly recommend this place 😁

Great for spices. The have every spice you could ever need and some of their own blends as well. I love the taco, Cajun and chicken fajita seasoning blends. You buy by the scoop or ounce so you can by as much or as little as you need. You make a selection and scoop what you want into a little plastic ziplock bag. No need for the expensive spice store.

Beautiful spice market loved my visit until I got to the cash register. First clerk says there is a 1 scoop minimum which in some spice is enough for a lifetime . A sign on the wall reads if you want less use a plastic bag provided and mark with corresponding number on spice chosen. This would allow them to weigh product and price according to weight. When I got to check out she began weighing and I noticed the price was $2 $2 $2 how is everything priced the same when prices per pound and amounts are different ? When questioned the price went to $1 $1 $1 ?? ok Im totally confused if there is a price per pound listed on the spice why is this not used to weigh and determine correct price. That ruined what would otherwise have been a really nice experience which I would have shared with a 5 star rating and sent many customers their way. Dissapointed

I love everything about Granel Spice Market! Since my first visit, Ive been hooked and find myself going in to purchase more or pickup items for friends and family 2 or 3 times a week. In my newly found journey to health, I promote this place to everyone as if its my business and I know the content directly of everything they sell. LOL Whenever I visit, I am overwhelmed because there is just so much to look at, things I never knew existed that could assist with my health as well as so many spices Ive only heard of on recipes but didnt know where to find them. Its just all so much in a good way... Every employee has been super friendly and very willing to assist and answer questions. My absolute favorite is Destiny, she is very sweet and patient with all the questions I ask. Visit and ask for Destiny!

Great Selection...some items bit too expensive, but most priced well. They are all Bilingual but they do favor Spanish speakers and can be Colorists when dealing with Non Latinos. Of more concern; Watch out when they are weighing your bulk items, twice Ive caught them putting items way in corner on scale, that skews in favor of the house. Before checking out while still shopping, i asked for a scale, they gave me a wonky old 1 and tried to put it ON the bulk boxes, which would make it unstable=unable to weigh properly. Clerk did fix it after some pushback but if all that happens again they will be reported. Kind of a funky location but they have a fantastic selection of spices and unusual Mexican imports at very good prices. The selection of dried and ground chilis here is epic.Found this shop while on quest to help a friend find supplies for making maize tortillas from scratch, found everything we needed here (except the maize) including lime powder and grain mills.

This is a beautiful place, interesting and attractive from the moment you walk through the door. The aromas of spices and tea pervade the place and theres SO much on offer, including some rare spices (eg Szechuan pepper), along with a good sidelines in jewellery, soap, beeswax candles, etc. Really friendly people work there, too :)

This is a great store with a wide variety of spices especially mexican spices. They also have lots of candies, mexican incents, local honey from Pasadena, and fresh herbs to choose from. The customer is service is also phenomenal. The chick working today immediately greeted me when I walked in and even packaged the herbs for me.

Under new name and management --Granel--- is still here with the old favorites, plus a huge modern update.I typically come through here a few times a year, for the past 10 years or so, IT IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST SPICE SHOP IN HOUSTON. *step down* Recently I tried to look up the hours, and couldnt find any information showing the place as open, but I chanced it and was beautifully surprised. New hours, new staff, new organization, new additions, but still my tried and trues. Lung #22 I love you, when I have bronchitis, or generally cant breathe. Orange pepper, lemon pepper, fancy cumin, smoked salt mmmm, smoke paprika, MOLE MIX, Sage smudge sticks, mexican cookware, Dried peppers, etc. etc. I believe there is a botanist on site also.
