I had a great experience at this location. I found exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for my items in a certain color, but I had an alternate color just in case. When I was looking online, a lot of locations didnt have my first choice of color in stock. Either way, I was able to get what I wanted at this location. One of the gentlemen working in the department was able to answer an important question that I asked so I really appreciated that.

Do not fall for the $15 off deal they’re going to offer you at this Academy. It’s a SCAM to gain your personal and financial information. They will renege on the offer by saying your application is under review, after they’ve scanned your ID and obtained other important information like your SS#. What they’re doing is unethical at best, downright illegal at worst, and the relevant agencies are being contacted to investigate.

This is one of my favorite locations. The best customer service. I never had to wait. I had one issue with a cashier being rude and the manager fixed that. The level of service regarding the pick up is on point. Very organized.

I am life long customer of Academy. I was very disappointed today. The store was fairly crowded and there were numerous employees on the sales floor, but only one register was open and the wait was upsurd.. I left rather than wait... Either open more check out lines, or get self check out lines.. Three stars because the gentleman I spoke to was very nice and very apologetic

There wasnt a crowd. Found everything and parking was convenient. Then we ate at Lupe Tortillas. Fun time.

Store hours are incorrect! I drove all the way to this location from Baytown due to an item I was needing showing available at this location. Arrived at 11:30pm store holiday hours show closing at 12am. Very frustrating. Seeing several other customers drive up and leave while Im writing this post. Please correct your hours.

This Academy Sports store on the Southwest Freeway at Kirby is very nice. The sales floor is clean and well lighted with good merchandise presentation.They carry a range of quality merchandise for most sporting activities. Store associates are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful

I didnt shop today! But if Im in need of any sort of sporting goods, this is my #1 place to shop for it! Its the start of hunting season so I made a stop to pick up my hunting and fishing license and the latest copy of Texas Park & Wildlife OUTDOOR ANNUAL hunting, fishing and Boating Regulations handbook!

I was in Boy Scouts the store is great diamonds remarkable the items remarkable the staff know how white wood support how I would support the kingdom of God asking Builders to build things to support the kingdom transferable skills I was threatened and harassed that was taken care of I love this store and the people that they help Im thankful for their support and helping me giving me the tools transferable skills made it to be a successful human being in society from the bottom of my heart oh gracious God heavenly father I thank you for them the helpmates thank you so very much

I like this location better than others in the surrounding area but I couldnt give it 5 stars because I bought a pair of shoes that were the wrong size on the inside of the box. The first pair in the same size looked like they were worn and returned so I just grabbed the next one in the same size(on the box), which I definitely shouldve looked inside the shoes first. Other than that, this location is pretty cool.

Always disapointed in their stock. There is always lots of XL and larger stock and never S through L. I think.their buyers are getting kickbacks or are mentally deficient.

Went online to academy to look for these types of rings for my hubby and i. Went into the store they had a good selection and our sizes! Only complaint is I walked in and someone greeted me, I asked her where the rings were and she pointed me in the right direction and told me someone was in the section to help me further. I walked around looking stupid because nobody was in the section to help me but I ended up finding them and serving myself. Fast checker and no line!

Not really any good deals at this location. The store was pretty crowded for lunch time and they had 2 registers open. SMH. They have to do better.

Apparently, Academy Sports has no dress code for employees. A tall skinny employee, with a man bun, was walking around with his pants down below his rear end. I did not appreciate it, since I had my daughter with me. I wont be back.

I went here to get tap shoes for my toddler because the ones I ordered from Amazon didnt fit and she needed them that same day.They had exactly what I needed and the salesperson was very very helpful. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Clean store and well appointed. My daughter wanted to look at the dance clothes but we were in a hurry. From what I saw they had a decent selection for a sports store. Not as much as an actual dance store would have, but they have much longer hours than dance stores. So if its last minute or in a pinch they are a good option. Well be back Im sure. Kid gets a new interest every week lol

What happened to Academy low supply on fishing lures. Hunting stuff too. I still go to shop there but is not the same.

Really enjoyed buying my sporting equipment there every very nozzle very helpful most of the time I find everything I need but right now with the pandemic its a little bit harder

I needed boots for a trip to Chicago and headed to Academy. Lucked up and scored these cuties for $29! I also bought Thermals (Long Johns) and they work great in Chicagos winter weather.Store in always clean and in order. Checkout cashier was friendly and efficient.Prices are great.

I bit off more than I can chew when I bought a 10 fishing rod. Although it was my fault they allowed me to exchange for 66, hassle free & no restock fee. Academy is very customer friendly.

This used to be like a flagship store with everything you could need for the outdoors. Today I went in to get a Leatherman multitool. I looked around a lot had changed since last time I was here. Found knife isle and went on the hunt. Everything was limited or not in stock at all. I looked for a few more minutes,then went to clerk. He said they were on the isle I was on, on the left. I know I am getting older and I do miss things from time to time, but I could not find them or the empty hanger that would them with a price. Went on my own hunt and hit whats left of the ammunition row. Where? What? In a corner, with This ammo USED to be displayed here. But if your looking for clothes or like to fishing the store is just for you, not me anymore.

Academy overall is a good store that carries a wide range of sporting equipment. However, the sizing selection on shoes and boots is often picked-over or limited. Hunting gear is similarly limited on sizing, and the ammunition section is almost always out of stock. For a centrally located store, this Academy should be trying harder to maintain its stock.

Came in to buy a pool stick, and found a decent one with the help of staff quickly and was checked out within 5 minutes after entering the store. Also called back about a different issue, and was put on with a manager who went the extra mile to help me.

Kim in the fire arms dept. was not only knowledgeable, but very friendly. He offers excellent customer service. I definitely will come back because of him.

Academy website and store is completely useless. Might as well not even have a web presence. Online stock is so different than what the store actually has in stock, and thats with me filtering for in stock items only. This is the last time Ill waste any time coming to Academy. They tell you call first, but you can never get anyone on the phone... Like I said, completely useless store and website. Would give zero stars if I could. Save yourself the headache, go to a real sporting goods store.

Grabbed some $5 chairs for beach. They were great.

My grandson and I found our own way to the sports ball section and made our selections from a variety of choices. My criticism is lack of staff to answer any questions.

Refused entry by gentleman saying he was the manager before the store was closed per hours posted online and outside of store. Is this common practice for Academy or was this employee just having a bad night? Not the way to treat a loyal customer whose been shopping here my whole life.This happened the evening of 12/2 if anyone who the manager reports to is reading this.

This one employee Priscilla was great she helped me with everthing and great customer service shes a great Cashier and was an amazing person

Very helpful for fishing license for this 74 year-old. I need to exchange the hoody, however, because I got the wrong size. Prices on most goods are high, but many mens and womens clothing on sale.

Fired a employee for upholding the rules.. Fire the manager that did this and reinstate the employee for being on the front line in your stores.. Garbage store.. I will always shop elsewhere now.

Academy was Allright but if your in a power chair going to the restroom its in the back of store its has small places to move around about but you can get to the restroom besides that Academy is a alright store and clean and the employee are kind and helpful.

Poor variety of mens shoes :( store is clean and aside from a few brands, anything made in Vietnam just add two sizes above your size.
