KLM Houston requires that you have a broker to receive live animals and to handle customs and any issues related to customs. L E Coppersmith was the one and only broker to do such a thing. All others I called thought it was ridiculous to pay someone $152.00 plus pay an additional terminal fee of $70 to do the same thing you can do yourself. (which i did in February with Turkish cargo, with no broker required)Was told by LE coppersmith to give them an hour to get pet cleared through customs. Got there an hour later and was told by the lady at KLM its going to be awhile. I asked why and she said CDC and Customs is inspecting the dog and all paper work on Dog. I asked if the broker was there to assist clear the dog, because I thought thats what we paid them for. KLM said Nope they never show up on site.2 hours after dog arrived he finally cleared the onsite inspection by CDC and customs, With out any help from LE coppersmith.WHAT The HECK DID I PAY THEM TO DO THEN? NO ONE COULD ANWSER. Big waste of money and time.Almost seems like its a racket to me.
