This has to be one of the best Shipleys I have been to! Besides it being so clean and pretty! The donuts and kolaches were fresh, warm, and so soft! 🤤 Yummy! 🤤 😍

Only reason its a 4 star is that they rarely mess up my order. But they are donuts. They are always good no matter what you get. Plus they have great customer service. I will continue to keep going there.

I give this Shipley on Yale 5 stars for great service. Came by this morning to get donuts and kolaches and they were nice and warm freshly made. The staff are very polite and very professional. FYI the main entrance is in-between Shipleys and KFC. I recommend this location their service is very fast.

Awful plain glazed! Go to either the Main or Ella location for the Shipleys Plain Glazed you seek.Visits to the Yale location on 12/20 and 12/28 were the same: Plain glazed donuts that were somehow both stale and wet.By this, I mean the dough was tough and a dry inside, and the glaze was wet (not damp, wet) everywhere the edges of the donuts touched either each other or the cardboard box. Thats almost the entire surface area of each donut being wet. 😞The first time I thought it was a fluke because they looked dry on the outside when the clerk picked them from the tray out front and packed them. The second time? They were brought fresh from the back, already packed. Both times, the donuts were, again, somehow both stale and wet at the same time. 😞To make them edible, I had to put them in the toaster oven. If you look at the pics, you can see the fuzzy tops of the donuts in the oven ... That fuzz is water boiling off the surface!Just. Bad. Donuts. 😞

Shipleys has the best donuts I love to buy them hot. But not all have them hot.

Id rate it a zero if it would let me. Tried to buy a kolache at 5:10am and was advised they only had plain donuts available. They open at 5am. How do you not have food ready when you open? Went to Duncan and they were ready for the day.

Fast service, these donuts taste differently than the shipleys on east freeway...but still good none the less. Coffee was fresh at 2pm so that in itself is great!

Incredibly bad service. Our order was completely wrong. We didn’t check the bags before we left. Learn from our mistake and just avoid this location.

Very nice lady @ drive thru!! But I don’t know if it was the manager or assistant store manager but he was using profanity and raising voice towards employees. That is not professional in any work environment especially if customers can hear it at a drive thru window. Super rude of him to talk like that. That’s my only concern and comment about this location.

Came here on Wednesday evening. Got cold doughnuts, and cold Kolache with barely any cheese and no napkins. Poor customer service if you ask me. I guess morning time is the only time to go. Ill stick to my regular place .

They make the best kolaches in my opinion. They are always got and buttery

Supposed to close at 8pm and it’s 6pm and close. There is people inside but no service to customer.

We use the drive thru & theres always a line but it moves quickly!The stars are for the young lady @the drive thru window,Shes awesome!She knows the menu & will give you explanations on the difference in the sweets🙂Kudos for the great service

Just picked up an Uber Eats order from here and neither of the two employees were wearing masks and gloves. Every other restaurant I pick up orders from has their employees in proper PPE. But not Shipleys. Absolutely mortifying.

I used to go to the Shipleys off of North Main, but this newer location is closer to me now and they have Great staff and great service!! I love that they remember their usual customers and they will tell you when they have FRESH Kolaches coming out!!!

Went there today, no one is wearing a mask, I saw the dude get donuts without putting on gloves and touching the donuts with his bear fingers for drive thru customers. This location is not up to par with the other local Shipleys.

This place is always spotless and has the nicest staff you could ever meet. The dough nuts are always fresh, they make kolaches almost all evening. The windows all around make the place very cozy and inviting. I wouldnt mind spending all day here if I had to!

Clean and pleasant people

I ordered 4 sausage jalapeño cheese and 4 sausage and cheese and she gave me big Earl Kolaches which I didnt ask for. They are more expensive of course. When I brought this up after looking at the receipt she said they always do that unless they ask for small Kolaches. Ive been going to Shipleys all my life and never heard this bs before. She wouldnt change them to regular because she said she already put them in the box. Lame! The Shipleys on 34th is way better and everyone knows this. Would not go here again

It doesn’t matter what time of the day I go to the Shipley’s on Ella, if I ask for a warm donut they give me a warm donut.. this is my first time giving the location on yale a try and I’m never coming back! I asked for my donut warm and she said she couldn’t warm it up because the next shift is starting and they don’t have anything warm right now

Heavy set heavy accented woman who is there on Saturdays is rude and this location has lost my business. As a lifetime resident of the heights, and knowing how slow this location is, the owner who i know lives in the garden oaks area should hire domeone with some manners. Constant hot glaze between 5-10:30 no matter the time asked they always have it ready come here 6 days a week except Tuesday as I like to sleep in on those days also the big white guy always does a good job

Review for this location only: Had to write a review because I LOVE Shipleys so much and this is the third or fourth time I go to this location and end up sooo disappointed. Its so sad. Because I look forward to it soo much, only to get disappointing when I know how good they really are! I go in the evening for glazed donuts and they feel and taste like they are super old. I ONLY eat donuts from Shipleys, Ive tried the rest, no comparing. These have been so bad I cannot eat them. I end up going to the next nearest one. I love you Shipleys please fix the evening donut situation!!!

Very disappointed. We are long-standing Shipley customers and were excited about this location closer to home. As we do often at other Shipleys, we ordered half a dozen donuts. We gave her a card paid and went home. We noticed they charged us $6.50 for six donuts when a full dozen is only $7.65. We went back and hour later to inquire and they said that if you order less than one dozen donuts, they will charge you for each donut.Every other Shipleys we go to usually has a discounted price for half a dozen or a dozen. We only needed four donuts and would’ve just bought four had we known they weren’t giving a discount.When asked if we could pay $1.15 more to get six more donuts, they flatly said no. I showed them the receipt that it was less than an hour that we had been there, but he didn’t care. It was falling on deaf ears. I know this is a business but I truly feel other locations would’ve told us it’s better to get a dozen. We will not be going there again. We had begun going often to Shipleys again now that there was one closer to us. Not anymore.I went online and called who I thought was the Shipleys location on Main Street but it wound up being their corporate office. I briefly explained what happened and the person who answered the phone really showed compassion and didn’t agree with what happened to us either. She transferred me to someone she said I should inform them of this. I got their voicemail, so I left a long voicemail message. If they care and I do hear back, I will update this review.

Very good customer service, very clean, good food.

Three stars because staff was very nice but quality of food was not on par with my experience with Shipley (30+ years). Will give it one more shot at this location since they just opened and might need to make some adjustments but the filling on my chocolate filled and cream filled donuts were just downright sad. Like maybe a third of the filling as compared to the location on Main. I was not pleased. But like I said I’ll give it one more shot in a few weeks when we get our monthly donut breakfast. l wasn’t a big fan of the kolaches either. Can’t put my finger on it...cheese was odd like Cheez Whiz like maybe? Kolaches are very subjective though, and not the main reason I come to Shipley. The donut filling issue is a non negotiable for me.

This store has friendly workers and great doughnuts. Not a kolache person. But the kolaches here look great! I’ll be here Atleast six days a week

Fast service, good food quality.

The one star isn’t for the donuts, coffe, etc. It’s for the owners who lack the common desency to properly staff this business. I was there 11/13 at around 3:30 pm. There was one young lady taking care of customers, one. When I walked in, there was a line at the counter, with people steadily walking into the lobby. The young lady showed extreme poise under pressure, not only did she have a full house, but the drive thru was also full, setting off alarming beeps and bells. She was running back and forth, most people would have colapsed under pressure, she did not, she got everyone’s order perfectly and with a smile. A question to the owners, how is she supposed to take a break, what if she needs to, God forbid, use the ladies room? There are laws to protect employees from greed like yours. Shame on you. A friend of mine called me a couple of hours later, she coincidently mentioned she had stopped by the new donut place on Yale, she raved about the poor girl that was all alone, taking care of clients, and how amazing she was. My friend didn’t even mention the donuts.

I went in around 6:45pm Friday 1-17-2020. Got a bag of donut holes, 1 glazed donut and two drinks. Both the donut and donut holes were the worst donuts Ive had EVER. I threw them away and went to the north main location. Please do not go to this place.
