My father in-law garage door spring broke to hopefully save money we took the broken snoring to Overhead Door Company of Houston on south Main @ Stella Link. When we got there we met a guy out front taking a smoke break he asked what we needed so I showed him the broken spring we went inside the front office the guy took the spring to the back of the shop! After about 20-30 minutes the guy came back with the broken spring along with a new spring he said he had to make one! Cool i thought we got what we need and after 15 more minutes the guy come back with an invoice (no one had given us a quote on the cost!!??) Knowing after research online new springs depending on quality the price range from $50-$90 could be purchased locally! I only glanced at the invoice i thought the amount was $62.30 so thinking thats a fair price I gave it to my 90 year old father in-law to pay with his credit card which he did! After 5 hours of trial and error i finally got the new spring installed safely and correct! While I was cleaning up my father in-law mentioned the price was $162.30 not $62.30 like we had thought! I said this amount is way too much (my father in-law is on welfare social security ) and Id call them the next day which i did the manager said thats the price! What a rip off ! I can remove the spring and get a refund she said! Really!! Risk my life doing so NO THANKS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Overhead Door Company Of Houston guarantees nothing unless they install it and it is guaranteed they will OVER CHARGE you and do not care for elderly customers barely getting by! They are in business to rip you off period!!!

From initial call to schedule service call to the service repair work, my experience with this company was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful customer service who were able to accommodate my special circumstance regarding my garage door. The service repair professional, Josh, was friendly and professional who was communicative prior to job, on time and experienced to tackle the job at hand in a professional and timely manner. In addition, the price of the repair was reasonable unlike other companies I called who seemed liked they were trying to take advantage of my situation. Overhead went over and beyond!!

Called this morning to see why remote was not connecting. Had a technician here within a couple of hours. Our system was old so needed a new one. Billy was thorough, friendly, took care of everything and garage door was up and running quickly.

Ordered the garage door several months ago. Paid $1800 Deposit. Complete crickets except for monthly text saying it will be another month. Last update was last month saying it would be available 8/30.....still no word. They don’t really live up to all the hype as I’m still without my garage door. They say it’s a supply shortage so why take deposits and give a delivery date?

After having a horrible experience with another company, I called the Overhead Door Company for repair of our garage door. I am writing in to advise and express the feeling I experienced with your technician Eric.At approximately 9pm on Saturday, June 26, 2021, my garage door was stuck in the open position after opening it with my remote just as I always do. I tried pressing the remote closer to the opener, checking the safety sensors and disconnecting the power for several minutes but to no avail. I reluctantly called Overheads 24 hour emergency number for assistance, since the opener I have is an Overhead product/model, and gave all the aforementioned details to the dispatch/answering service rep.I received a call a few minutes later from Eric who advise he had just got in and asked me was it safe in my area. These statements took me for a loop because I have NEVER been asked that on any of the service calls I have ever made in my 20 years of living in my home. He said I dont want to come if its not safe because I have had my tools stolen before. After a few more excuses we disconnected the call and I called back to Overheads 24 hour emergency number, spoke to a different dispatch/answering service rep and had to explain AGAIN the same things because I needed someone to come out to help with my door. Eric called back and said he was on the way and would arrive shortly.He arrived at approximately 1115pm and began to see what the issue might be and after about 30 minutes decided it was the circuit board that need to be replaced which he said I used my last one on Thursday so you will have to wait til Monday for us to fix it. As he was putting away his ladder and tools he says to me you know you made me look bad to the company because I called back to ask for a technician that was willing to help with my issue. Then he says if it was the Memorial area it wouldnt be a problem. I was shocked that he would be so bold to say this and it made me feel as if my issue wasnt as important as someone who is fortunate enough to live in a different area of Houston. He tired to smooth things over as he was writing the ticket saying its ok, its ok, we will fix it Monday. I asked which form of payment the company accepts then went to get my credit card for the fee. He did not even make sure to leave my copy of the service order/receipt and when I called him within 5 minutes of his leaving to ask him where it was he said oh they will email it to you or send it in the mail.So to summarize the events:1. I was made to feel like I was putting him in danger by answering a service call.2. I was insulted because I didnt live in an area he deemed safe.3. I didnt receive a receipt for any services but my credit card number was written down and recorded.4. My issue is yet still not resolved.This is the worst I have experienced. At very least I require a receipt for my charges since nothing else was resolved.

We have purchased 1 garage door opener several year ago from ODCH. Last year we purchased 2 garage doors. The power went out and I had to use the safety rope to release the door in order to raise it. When power was restored the safety cord would not allow the door to engage. Upon calling the shop they did tell me to really give it a yank which I did until I was afraid I might damage the unit. The tech came out and spent literally 5 seconds to engage it. He grabbed the arm that attaches the door to engage it rather than the string. OH, and it cost 104.00 for that 5 second visit. I am not casting any shade toward the tech.

I would not recommend. Called for service on a Wednesday. Had to pay for emergency service and still not fixed. They did not have the correct spring in stock. Still stranded. It’s now Sunday. ☹️

You’ll ask to troubleshoot the the garage opener for a reason it may not be working after a power outage and they will make you pay $100 for them going out there to just reset it. They say the service includes lubing, and cleaning but wasnt stated in the beginning and its more of them just wiping down everything. Should’ve done more research on fixing it my self because that was ridiculous.

Overhead Door Houston improperly installed large doors at my office with the wrong attachment hardware which allowed one door to detach and nearly hit one of my employees. After they fix the attachment, they charged me again. Unbelievable! I suggest you not use this company and if they have installed doors for you, I suggest you get a professional to check the safety of the installation.

BAD SERVICE with NO CARE ATTITUDE. Will not use this company again! The tech did not text ahead of time. After the tech reviewed my repair I received a text an hour later stating he was on his way. Next text was to rate the tech, (he was good). then a text to confirm that we paid a $35 quote fee. The repair quote was e-mailed later in the day with someone else, name and job address, When I called the main office to ask for my quote they were rude in the fact that this seems as though it could never happen. once we finally got OGD to e-mail the repair quote I tried to ask how long it would take to order parts for repair but they hung up on me. BAD SERVICE with NO CARE ATTITUDE. Do not use this company.

I called Overhead Door Company late Friday afternoon regarding a remote for my 20 plus year old garage door. The knowledgeable person was not there but I was assured that I would get a call back at the beginning of the week which I did. This kind of service is rare these days!

Purchased new garage doors for a 3-car garage last March. Took 3 months to get them installed. After installation, noticed 4 door panels had dents and one door seal had a tear. Reported the issues in June (3 days after installation) with 4 follow up emails. To date there has been no response other than waiting for replacements from Wayne Dalton. Both product and service quality is very poor.

We needed to replace our garage doors for a long time and after reading reviews and checking prices, we settled on Overheard Door Company. I emailed first and received an almost instantaneous response with exactly the information I requested. We also found a coupon on their website for the doors we wanted. We went to the showroom and Mario was fantastic. He explained all the options and wrote up the order. The installation tech arrived exactly on time and did an amazing job of taking down our old doors and installing our new doors. He was a complete professional. The doors look wonderful and he cleaned up after the job was done and he even hauled away our old doors. The price was better than other places with the coupon and we appreciated the personal, professional service, despite the fact that we were buying their least expensive doors. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We have used Overhead door for many years because they were fair and produced a good product. Just used them to repair a overhead door. I expect to pay a fair rate and a trip charge but this time for one hour work and trip charge was just unfair. I called up to discuss the charge and was told that was it. This is a big city with other overhead door companies. Good by Overhead door!!!!

I had a fantastic experience with this company. Evelyn was awesome with providing information about my options for the garage door opener install. Her explanations, detailed information, and specifics were much appreciated. Whenever I had a question all I had to do was call and she was there to assist me. She also made scheduling my appointment easy and was able to provide me with a time frame (this is generally not guaranteed, as early as I was requesting it due to moving).Eric came for the installation during the specified time window and was also phenomenal with explaining what he was going to do and what was needed for the install. His work was detailed and great quality. Although my foundation is not straight he accommodated the opener to be as flush as possible without it causing excessive strain. I appreciated this as this detail could have been easily overlooked or I could have been told it was not possible.From start to finish the process was smooth and seamless. I couldn’t be happier with the service and product provided.

Tom did a great job fixing our garage doors. it turned out he was familiar with our home from installation of the original Overhead Doors in 1992! he was able to fix our broken safety cable in a flash as well as a bolt which had pulled out of the ceiling where the opener was mounted. he also lubed our other squeaky door. thanks for the great service!

Super disappointed in Overhead Door Company of Houston, after selecting them based on Google reviews. All I can say is do your own homework. 4 times higher for the service fee than most door companys in town. Should be $20-$40 depending on location. We had three employees try to repair 2 doors across four days. I knew I wasnt dealing with Rhodes Scholars but horrible customer service. All three employees (sub-contractors) were generally rude and became somewhat aggressive and outwardly angry when discussing the repairs and solution. They replaced 4 springs with three different sizes across two days, I assume so they could charge more money and/or we wouldnt notice. Then on the third trip came to fix it and replaced the four springs with only two larger springs. I assume to minimize their financial burden for the initial poor quality work. Then had to come back to adjust the door properly again. We build custom homes and own a real estates brokerage, so we deal with garage doors a lot, and I assure you we will not use nor recommend them again. This review written by a real, unfortunate customer. Beware of Google reviews.Nope, definitely you guys. Im sure you couldnt find the record for the points that I describe in my review.

BEWARE!!! I called for a basic inspection of existing equipment. This was not an emergency call whatsoever. A one hour inspection, which was really about 25 minutes, where all they did was end up lubricating the rollers was $429. Charged me drive time and 1.5 hours at $153 per hour. The salesman Robin made it seem like it would be $153 which seemed fair. I feel like I was ripped off. Find a fair business to do business with. Yes, I paid my bill!!

I have old, beat up garage doors on my house. Bill has come out to fix my garage doors several times (over 8 years) and I can not recommend him enough. I have hit each door with my car, and Bill fixed them both in no time. The last time I hit it, and knocked it off the rails and he came out the next morning and fixed it 15 minutes! Ive never seen such high quality service at a fair price. You would be a fool to go anywhere else.

Overhead Door recently installed a garage door for me. The door looked great, and was reasonably priced. The Technician, Christopher, texted me before the install, and was on time. He was friendly and answered questions as he was working. He represented the Company very well. I will use them again without hesitation.

We were charged $6224.17 for an initial fix. 2 days later the door broke again and we were quoted $1900 for that fix. We asked for a quote for a new installed door and their price was $5800. If we kept them doing the repairs we wouldve paid overr $8100 to fix a door that they sell installed for $5828. We have a total of 14 doors in our facility. We can’t afford to pay for repairs that cost us much less to install new. We will go elsewhere

I had bought two residential garage door openers from here and the Hispanic lady had told me that I could return it if didn’t need the second one anymore or if it wasn’t the right one. Well I came back today and they said that I couldn’t return it since they have no way of testing it to see the remote works..it’s still a brand new remote that wasn’t even open yet. If you’re going to tell someone they can return an item if it’s unopened or whatnot, please honor it. Now I wasted $56 something on a brand new remote that I don’t even need.The ladies in the residential side were friendly but if you say something, honor it. Smh

I need an estimate on a repair commercial door and owner said they needed two guy to repair it. It would be $350 to go out and repair and once both techs got there, they just looked and said you need a new door. A $4k door and they still billed me for nothing. they are a bunch of crooks.

On Tuesday, 12 July, the 48-year old wooden 16 x 7 ft garage door ran off the track while it was closing. This heavy door hung over our two cars in the garage by the arm of the automatic door opener. Overhead Door sent an engineer out on Wednesday morning (July 13) to assess the job. He estimated that it would take 3 men to remove the door. I also ordered a replacement metal door and possibly a new door opener. On 15 July, 3 men came and removed the door by sections without the door causing any damage to the cars. They completed the removal in 2 hrs and removed everything, quickly. The installers then replaced the door and confirmed that I should replace the door opener which had been installed in 1996. Again, they finished the door quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up before they left.My only challenge was programming the push button on one of our cars that had a built-in door remote, since the new door opener had a roving number feature. I tried the instructions in the car manual with no success. I called the office and the person, who answered, gave me clear directions, which arent written in any manuals. One can program the remote button in the car using the openers remote controller. But this is just the first step. The second step is to have someone in the car pushing the cars control button, while another person held the learning button on the door opener box.In the past, Ive used other Overhead door companies, but with less than desired results. This time, I remembered Tom Tynans endorsement and looked up the real Overhead Door Company on his website. We were completely pleased with the service from Overhead Doors of Houston. All the workers were totally professional and efficient. During the job, the foreman kept getting calls about additional jobs, but he listed the jobs that he already had on his schedule and didnt commit to additional jobs until he completed his other jobs.
