Garage door spring broke at around 7:30 PM. Called Crown Overhead Doors at 7:45 PM. Technician showed up at 8:58 PM and completed the job at 9:25PM which included replacing the spring, lubing all the rollers, checking the rails and reconnecting the garage door opener. Tested the door several times to insure everything was functioning properly. Thank you Josh for a job well done and an amazing response time!

These guys are great. Honest, skilled, timely, friendly and safe. Got back from vacation on a Saturday evening and forgot the slide lock was partially in place on our garage door. Hit the door opener and the garage door started to open and jammed tight a foot up off the ground. Went inside and the garage door was jammed against the rail, the cable was off the wheel and the whole door looked distorted. I was able to push the door back down to the floor and lock it. I was afraid we would need a whole new door, rails, etc. i called Crown Overhead doors and they asked if it would be ok to send a tech who would be there Sunday morning between 9 and 9:30.Isaac Moreno called at 9:15 to confirm time and location and was here 10 minutes later. He came into the garage, looked at door and said that the door would need the wheels and cable reset, some door panels reattached and the rails adjusted and would cost $329. It would take about 45 minutes. I was overjoyed. Isaac was fantastic. He did everything he said he would and then some.I asked Isaac if he could also do a full system maintenance since he was there and he told me it would cost $120. He checked everything, oiled and greased everything that needed it and the garage door is now working better then before the accident.One of the bulbs on the opener motor box wasn’t working and the tech who had replaced the main circuit board for us last year had said it needed a special lighting board for $75, but never followed up with a service call like he said he would. I asked Isaac to look at it and see if he could fix the problem . He tested the board and timer. Isaac had a lighting circuit board on his truck and replaced and tested that board and bulb. Everything now works. Isaac even took a staple gun and secured some loose wires.Isaac even instructed us in the proper way to leave the garage door opener when we go on vacation - push in the slide lock and unplug the garage door opener motor so no one can open the door by remote or by hand.Thank-you, Isaac. You are gold!

This is the first review I have written. Only because of the great service that we received from Mr. Ifran who came to check out our garage door problem. He did an excellent job in diagnostic the problem with our garage door. From there on Mr. Ifran proposed all options and explained in detail the pros/cons of each and allowed us to make informed decisions. Once we decided he immediately commenced the work and replace the motor/wires/sensors everything that goes along with it and programmed etc promptly and neatly. We picked the high-end Life Master 0.75 HP so we spend a bit extra but we are happy because we got top-end parts and the best service.Thank you Crown door and Mr. Ifran. I would recommend both the company and the technician Mr. Ifran to anyone needing any service-related garage door.

Overpriced. $950 to change spring, wheels, and bracket for the motor. Technician claimed the spring cost $450. Afterwards, I tried to search the price of most heavy duty high quality spring, I have yet to find anything over $90. The wheels are average $20 bucks for a box of 10, bracket cost less than $10 likely. 1 hour of work done. I almost feel robbed. Could anyone justify the amount I just paid to be reasonable? I feel like I can almost get a brand new garage door set with that price! But I just got some new springs, bracket and wheels.Edit: The receipt does not have my name on it, only my address which is in sugar land. Service was done this morning, 11am-12pm on 9/21/20. I paid $950 by check. I had called your office after service to confirm prices for changing heavy duty spring but was just referred back to ask a technician for those prices. I will certainly call your office again tomorrow.

Excellent service. My issue was diagnosed and resolved within an hour of the techs arrival. The spring broke on my door and William replaced it with two springs. He also gave me some general maintenance advice for my door. I highly recommend Crown Door for your needs.

So the weirdest most annoying thing happened. I called crown door for a quote and some guy named Willie came and tried ripping me off and was super rude. I had gotten the same repair years ago but i forgot what company from, it was definitely not that expensive. I then called another company named Saras garage and their technician Raul gave me the same price for the repair. I started thinking, maybe the cost should be this much, but then I noticed Saras and Crown door had the same contact number!!. I guessed they were the same company, so I called a company named all about garage doors and gates, and the same guy Raul showed up and said he can fix my gate, he said he was the owner and hell give me a good deal, at this point I wanted nothing to do with any of them. So I called a few more companies and trust me, the quote I got was much more reasonable. If you want to save time and money then I suggest you avoid all these companies.

We looked a bunch of places for a garage door. This place had the best price in Houston. The guys there helped us load the door quick and got us out of there in a flash. They were helpful with methods on how to load this thing and get it to the job site safely ✌️ we didnt have a rack on on the pickup truck.

I had Crown Overhead Door out twice in four days, because of broken springs. I had two different technicians come to the house the first one replaced the broken spring was done in an hour. (I thought that both springs were replaced.) A couple of days later I heard the spring break again, which when I realized only one spring was replace. So they sent out a new technician (Efrain) to replace it and he explained why they usually the suggest to replace both at the same time ( not done by the first tech) and he explained how they are suppose to check everything to make sure it is working when they are done. When the second tech was done he checked everything and noticed that one of the cables was frayed and recommended replacing them because it would have to happen sooner or later. Having good costumer service is very important and can make all the difference in the world. I would have gladly replaced both springs on the first day if that was explained to me, but it appears that (Roman) was in too big of a hurry to get to his next job to provide good customer service for Crown, which caused them to come a second time. Thank you Efrain for doing a great job explaining the details and making sure everything was aligned correctly and working before you left.

Excellent costumer service! I’ve had the same garage door opener for three years now with only one remote! I bought two universal remotes and could not figure out how to program them. Edwin taught me how to program them within 5 min.! Now I don’t have to fight with the wife who has the opener lol.

Wow. Wow. WOW. I stupidly backed into our garage door, and it was wrecked! Completely bent and falling off its hinges. We thought it was a goner. My husband and I tried to fix it ourselves to only cause more damage. It got to be about 8pm, and we needed someone to come fix the garage door for us and quick. We honestly didn’t think we (or anyone else) could do anything other try and get it to close. Mat was at our home within 20 minutes. We did not think it was even repairable at that point. Mat was very polite and assured us that he would do everything in his power to repair the door before even considering a replacement door. 30 minutes after his arrival, the door was totally repaired. LIKE NEW. It was in better shape than before. I couldn’t believe it. I was very, very impressed. Quick AND affordable. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend Mat! He’s a magician!

Do not ever use Crown overhead door on bingle rd.they are the worst company I have ever dealt with. We got and accepted a quote to fix a spring. It took them 2 days and 3 calls for me to get them to come out when they said they would. They removed the spring and took it to there shop to match it with a new one. We did not hear from them for 2 weeks. When I called and asked what was going on with our repair they told me that they could not find a spring that size.I told them to put my door back the way they found it and I would get a real overhead door company to fix it. The owner told me that they threw my spring in the trash. So now I dont even have spring for the next guy to have a chance to see for himself. They are thieves and liars stay away.

I waited 7 hours and their installer never showed even after they advised for 3 hours he was on his way.Here is update after your response.Yes, I was originally quoted $450 for a mounting bracket and installation. I decided to purchase a bracket myself. You never sent anyone out here to that point. One of your techs asked me to send pictures before he would even come out which I did and messaged back and forth with him 3 different times trying to schedule the installation and finally gave up after a week. Then your company called me back asking if I still wanted to have it installed. I advised yes but I had purchased the mounting bracket and asked how much it would be for just the labor and she quoted me $150 so i said yes. That is when this 7 hour wait occurred. Then this morning someone finally came out, the very first time, and said he wasnt advised it was a roll up door and couldnt do it. Then I called back to your office and was advised it would cost $300 to install and I asked if it could be done for $250 to compensate for my wasted day yesterday. I was told no that was too cheap but needed to speak with Mike. I called back and spoke to Mike again and the price then went back up to $450.That is the full story so quit trying to cover up your horrible customer service......

I called Crown Overhead Doors for an issue with my garage door opener that I had been dealing with for several months. Another company had been out several times to look at it, and had recently been scheduled to come out yet again, but failed to show. I called Crown and within about two to three hours after my call, a service technician came to my house and fixed the issue that had been lingering for months. The customer service was excellent. The technician was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. I will definitely call Crown Overhead Doors if I experience any issues with my garage door opener in the future.

The door cant close properly and keeps dropping which we had to lift the door to close it every time, and victor always said he would fix the problem whenever we called him, but he never show up. finally our door starts working fine after he fixed the problem.updated: the door will open automatically during the windy weather after 10 month and i did call them to see what is going on, because the installer victor persuaded us to buy the expensive part which had 3 years warranty, then the management kept saying there is no any warranty written down on the invoice, and said they would let victor come to take a look, we are waiting for over a month and no one show up.

Shady. Quote over phone after explaining job in detail was $1600. Contractor came out and got a call from Crown that the job would be $2800. Two jobs at different times for $1400. Agreed to this price. Contractor did not complete first job after multiple reminders. They dropped the price to $1200 and I completed first phase personally. Paid $1000 and balance of $200 was to be made a week later, they charged my card the $200 without my permission and never sent a receipt after two requests, still have no receipt. Called them back for the second part of job which now should have been the $1200 to complete, and they sent a different contractor and quoted $2000. They are just a store front who calls outside contractors to your job, try to get the contractors directly or pay a little more for a reputable company that is experienced, less headaches.

I called in the morning asking about gate repair. A very professional gentleman called to confirm appointment time, and arrived on time. After discussing my problem he told me it was possible to correct my issue but would not be inexpensive. I appreciated the upfront approach. I was more than willing to pay the cost. He went to buy the parts, complete a prior appointment commitment and returned to complete my repair. It was a very professional experience and I have recommended the company to repair our property gates.

Crown is one of the best companies that have done service on my house. The were fast with the repair. When it came to a problem with my garage door cameras the came a second time and did not charge me a thing. They said it would be cover under the 30day labor warranty. I had a service person at my house on time and we discussed several options for carriage doors and 2 new garage door openers. Had a heavy duty 24 gauge door installed. Initially installed wrong door, but came out next day and corrected. They called back this week to make sure I was satisfied and offered discount for mistake. That is all you can ask for and will recommend them to others...

Ive purchased parts from Crown two times to repair our garage door. Each time, they have been helpful in making sure I got the right part and giving advice on how to properly replace the parts. It would be easy for them to wait for the inevitable service call after a DIY effort goes wrong, but theyd offer advice up front to help their customers.

I am glad I called Crown Doors, after many calls to other companies regarding my one pice wood door, others would not attempt to repair this type. Other two companies insisting on selling me a new door and opener but that is not what I wanted. The reason I was hesitan to replace my garage door was because it would temper with the the theam of my 60s home. After talking to my next door neighbor about this door that no one would repair her suggested I give Crown Door a call. My neighbor mention that their techs are very knowledgeable and had many years of experience. So I called them, explained exactly what I was going through, and that I did NOT want to replace my garage door, that that was not an option. A young lady named Amy assured me that they would give me a free estimate on the nesseary repairs and that if I did not agree with the price there would be no charge. Willy came to my house in about an hour or so, took a look and determine that the problem was with the motor and not the door. I was very relived to find out that my wood door would not have to be replaced. My 20 year old door opener on the other hand did have to be replaced. Willy had several motors with him from where I could choose one wich made the service more expedient. Although they have mix google review I know I made the correct choose on calling these guys, from my part I would highly recommend Willy and Crown door services.

Our garage door is working again, but I cant fully recommend this company. Let me tell you about our experience:One day, the door wont open. Im not in town, my 83 yo mother is the one living in my Houston home. Last time this happened, a neighbor hit it with some spray lube and that helped, but this time, she called Crown.The Crown guy comes out promptly (great!), tells her the opener is shot and it will be $750 to fix !!! Mom calls me while hes on site and puts him on the phone.. I quickly look up a comparable opener to the Genie that we have and its around $150. I comment that $750 is too much for a $150 product and he says well, maybe a cheapo Genie, but you have a heavy door and need a heavy duty opener. I said no, that door is thin gauge aluminum and the lightest of garage doors OK, he says, sidestepping his deception, well, I can install a medium strength Liftmaster for $550 which is better than Genie (probably true) and has a good long warranty.I didnt have time to look it up, so I okd it, but later found that the opener he installed (Liftmaster 8165W) costs $220 max w/o rails. And Home depot would install for < $150. And the warranty is 1 year.They installed it right away, (best thing about Crown and why I gave three stars) and it took about an hour, says mom. In the meantime, the installer removed /took away a special automatic closer I had installed on top of the old opener. It was a relatively new $100 device I installed for safety. I found out when I came back to Houston.The job was done promptly and it works. Service is worth something extra. Also, in fairness, mom asked for the senior discount ($40) and they gave her that. Final charge for the $200-ish opener installed was $510Later she found that the outside keypad was not working. She called and Crown said her old one was incompatible frequency so she needed to buy a new one. But I knew that the keypad had already been replaced recently and happened to be a Liftmaster. So when I came to town weeks later, I looked up the instructions online and linked it to the new opener in 15 minutes !My complaints:1. $510 was still kinda high for what they did. The original quote of $750 was outrageous and they dropped that as soon as they knew it would not fly. For the $300 installation we paid, they could have tuned up the old old tracks or replaced ageing rollers. That would have made me feel that paying more was worth full attention and quality service.2. They absolutely should have programmed the keypad during the installation of the new opener. They left her without a fully functioning system. And they should have known that a recent model Liftmaster universal keypad was compatible with the Liftmaster opener. I suspect that the installer never even looked at it and then the office just gave her the answer that saved a service callback and got them more money.3. They had no business taking away another special device that was not the opener. This is not my idea of good service. As a contractor myself, I would have asked. It was too late by the time I came through and found out to ask for it back.I just saw Crowns response. I priced the actual unit they installed, not comparing to others, though Chamberlain is nearly identical. I dont need a new keypad as ours is fine. The issue was that they did not program it, they left it not working. Then they tried to sell my mother a new one when she called. The installer just needed to sync it with the new opener.I TOTALLY CONFIRM that if you want things done promptly, then Crown takes care of it. Very important in many cases Still, there were several aspects of the service that were questionable integrity and I do want to share those.

Our garage store was stuck closed the morning of the 4th of July holiday. I called for help just before 8:00 AM. One of the large springs on the door retraction mechanism had broken. The technician arrived before 9:00, and everything was repaired and working fine by 9:45! It was a great service call experience, especially for a holiday!!

6/18/2014 - went here to check out garage door bottom seal (16ft wide residential) and the sale guy quoted me $95 plus tax. The guy behind charged me $28OTD. These people are manipulative and appear not very genuine or honest.DETAIL/BACKGROUND:There are two types of seal, slide on (flexible type) and screw on (rigid type), and i needed the screw on type. HD has the slide on type for about $15 and not the type I needed.Knowing that $95 for some plastic/rubber seal is overpriced, I kept my cool. I asked the price of the flexible type and quoted me $85 bucks. I showed him The similar product on my HD app showing dor about $15 and he tried to deny thats the same product.I asked him to lower the price on the seal I need and he went to the back and came back saying his manager can lower it to $65 from $95. I told him Im willing to pay $30 for it and he said no. I thanked him for his time and left.I dont care that they price it $95 bc the seal I wanted isnt available at places I looked but its wrong to price-gouge on the other seal where its available at HD.I called around and found a large warehouse right behind this store and bought the seal for $28 OTD.Bottom line is these people will most likely take advantage of the weak customer

Great service and quality work

Purchased one Genie Limit Switch for $15.00, plus $1.23 tax, for a total of $16.23. Found same part online at North Shore Commercial Door and bought two for $9.98, or $4.99 each, plus $3.22 shipping, for a total of $13.20.A 200% markup seems rather excessive for a $4.99 part, which, I assume, the other company was still making a profit! Crown certainly lost any chance of getting any future business from me.
