I like this store and friendly workers!!! Except the lady work sometimes and costumer services and cashier! For respect I don’t want to say the name but she have a really bad attitude and a little education! She need to be more nice with the costumers!!!!!

Once you step in the store you may thank you step back in time to the 1960s.The prices in this store are overall a little higher than normal.Food selection is limited.Staff was friendly.The parking lot is trashed. If you are in a wheelchair or Walker you may have difficulty navigating the parking lotIf youre going to the store because of the newspaper flyer,You will need a Membership card to get the discounted prices.

This store is amazing! They have the best items in the pre-cooked items. Instead of shopping at HEB, this is the preferred store.

Nice enough place, but not as epicurean as Id hoped.Clean, well spaced aisles that are well stocked. Didnt see anything that was truly unusual or a brand I didnt recognize.Also, no goat milk, goat yogurt or lamb.

Well stocked and well staffed! I always enjoy going in there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Made my Sees holiday run and needless to say picked up a few extra items. Ive been VERY good this year!

Rice Epicurean has been wonderful for many many years. Their Thanksgiving Chef prepared food is a tradition and all yummy. The staff on Fountainview are always helpful, gracious and kind. During the pandemic CRAZINESS no exception. Everyone please remember to be kind, patient and respectful.

I drive by here for work quite often. I decided to stop in last week to check it out. The store is very clean and organized. Everyone that works there was very nice and helpful. They have a large selection of items you typically find in a grocery store and quite a bit that arent of the norm for this area. I found a sausage from Alabama that my parents love, so I was thrilled! I will definitely be back in to browse some more and shop.

I went to this market seeking Sees candy! And I have found the closest one in a hundred mile radius!!! I have a feeling that this may become a regular trip Ill be making. I am just excited to see a candy counter. I also saw some very interesting things that I cant wait to try!!!

Rice is a bit pricey, but when you want quick service, fine products, and excellent customer service it does the trick. Their employees have longevity! It is nice to see familiar faces. That small hometown feel.

Food selection is great. Walked four blocks before closing to get a baby mix they only carried. Got turned away an hour before closing and then grey haired lady wouldn’t let me in without a mask. I always have one and forgot. Management gave me a mask when I entered without one. Aforementioned turned me away and I went to HEB. I will gladly come by and tell you all the person. I’m young, soDiscrimination? Y’all have the best selection of ramen noodles. Come on!!!! Dirty Blonde girl was super nice, just not wavy grey haired.

They cater to our Thanksgiving dinner which was so expertly done! They were ready for us they had everything packages with reheating instructions! The food was wonderful and everybody amazingly was happy :-) they gave us more gravy than we need it is and more cranberry sauce than we needed and even more turkey and rolls probably everything really but in other words the food was plentiful, flavorful, enjoyable! Ordering was easy and quick as well as pick up! Dorothy really knows her stuff :-) we have ordered from them several times before, and we definitely will again! It really was a true feast!

NEGATIVE STAR: This place is terrible - staffs have disgusting attitude! First time going here today to visit see’s candy store and the lady is so rude! Went to pay our chocolate and the cashier also had terrible customer service. They don’t care about their customers whether it’s your first time or you go here often- other reviews on Yelp and other platforms is the proof of this. NEVER EVER COMING BACK HERE.

I drove all the way out there for Vernors Gingerale because it says available for delivery online. Since they wont deliver to Richmond or 77009 which is like 10 miles away I tried to call but noone ever answers. Anyway, I waisted my gas and time! Answer your phone!

Rice continues to compete in this competitive market. This store has excellent selection and specialty items that help it hang in there with the huge HEB across the street. They also have the exquisite Sees Candy shop. This is the best candy around. Makes a great gift. Unique selections. Once you have their Pecan Buds, no other turtle type candy will satisfy you. They are expensive but addictive.

Love this store. A bit quaint. Has most of what you need unless its super specialty. They offer a decent variety. The larger stores can be overwhelming so this is a good medium.

I went there for an item they claimed to have in stock, but once i arrived to find out it wasnt in stock.

This is one of my favorite stores to shop. They have specialty items on every isle, a nice seasonal holiday section with incredible boutique items, and even mini shopping carts for the kids to push. The Sees candy counter is amazing and the killer brownies from the bakery are to die for. My husband loves the meat department, its more like a high end butcher rather than a grocery store. Everyone that works there is extremely helpful and polite. Jack has to be my favorite bagger, hes the sweetest guy and even loads my groceries into my car. You cant get better service than that anywhere in Houston!

I was told if I wanted a Turkey to reserve it lbs online..... and I did. 14+ is what I asked for. When I came to pick up my Bowman Landes they how many lbs did u need?. I said 14+ he says yeah thats what you got on paper. And gave me a 12lbs. Turkey which is not gonna feed the 14 to 15 people coming!!!.I will order from vendor directly. My great welcome to Texas😶🤨😡

One of the last of its kind. Pre-megaconglomerate grocery store. One of the last remaining independent chains in houston. I believe this is their last location. Their hand painted sugar cookies are by far the best in the entire city

Loved this place. Only issue I had was I didnt have enough time to pick out new stuff. Or money. Totes recommend going here and trying out a new place for your familys grocery shopping. Promise u wont regret it. 😉

Love this place! I only shop here during the Holidays and Easter. Their meat department is fabulous and have great cuts of meats to choose from. Have a special occasion, their selection of greeting cards, flowers, decorations, and gifts are amazing.

Been shopping at Rice for years, my favorite was on Kirby but enjoy the store on Fountain View. Employees are genuine without the forced greetings and unctuousness and customers are pleasant. The products are very good, and it has a nice feel in the store. They should have more ham and cheese croissants.

This location has the best bakery EVER. I ordered a cake from here for a birthday celebration at my office(Ebony and Ivory sheet cake) and it was SO much better than a traditional store bought sheet cake. It was a little more expensive--about $5 more than Kroger and HEB, but the quality is much better.They also have the best cake balls in town-- and at $1.29 a piece, its really hard for me to resist. I only wish I would have known about this bakery for my sons birthday party in August. I will definitely be using Rice in the future!

We called from Taiwan to send an orchid to a friend in Houston. We had the good fortune to be directed to Alma in the Floral department. She had the patience of a saint dealing with our myriad requests, including finding a way to print out our card in Chinese. The next day, we called up and totally changed our order. She didnt seem to mind a bit. She said they didnt have suitable flowers in the store, so she drove across town to get some from another location. That is what I call customer service. I will always order from Rice Epicurean in the future. Thanks Alma.

They have Sees candies, and somehow have managed to remain in business despite being near an excellent HEB. Clearly doing something right. Has an almost quiet, old money feel to it. Prices are a bit high, but it tends to have hard to find, high end items in ready supply.

This place was pretty good. They catered a bar mitzvah for us. The food was pretty good Not great, not terrible. They seemed a little confused most of the time. Im not sure why they brought shrimp cocktails.

Wonderful store! I shopped at the erstwhile location on Westheimer for over 20 years, including after Ike when the Rice, Ragin Cagin, and the street where I lived were the only spots with power. If you are looking for Christmas things its definitely the place to try.

I bought some sees candy from this store they charge double than what you can get it for on the Sees website. I could get the same 1 lbs of dark chocolate from the Sees website for $28.80 but from this place and they charged double tha . Ill never go to this store again its a RIP off.

I am a regular customer, because I live nearby; Unfortunately yesterday when I came in with my shopping package because I forgot to buy some fruit, an employee kept watching me and asked me to leave the backpack on the counter, which was unpleasant because it gave me the impression that he thought he was going to steal.Very sad episode because I am a person of moral values as well as principles ​​learned in my home, I am considering not buying more there. the employee was not from the security staff.
