Best place to buy your shotgun and get fitted for it. John fitted me for my shotgun and he is a very experienced pro. He also repaired my old 11 87 Remington and it really works perfect now. The service they provide is the best value in Houston.
Rhea, the showroom manager, is great to work with and Tim, the gunsmith, has done a nice job installing grind-to-fit recoil pads on a couple of shotguns. However, the checkout process needs work, in my opinion. Its too time consuming with too many people involved and should be streamlined. The company does make excellent choke tubes for virtually every shotgun model in existence. And if they dont already have what you are looking for, they can make it for you.
Excellent customer service. I’ve an older Verona and was able to get appropriate choke tubes with no trouble. Perfect fit. Thanks so much. Highly recommend this company.
I came here on the recommendation from multiple friends. Jake helped me on the sales floor and walked me through multiple shotgun models until I found one suited for me. Briley had better selection and inventory than most other stores I had been to. The Beretta shot great for the first time earlier this week. I will definitely be back to purchase a set of chokes in the near future.
I left a Springfield 1911 with Ray for a complete rebuild with all new parts, frame checkering and machine work to install new sights. He did an amazing job. It looks awesome and functions flawlessly. The final bill was was very reasonable. Dont be in a hurry to get your gun back, but I highly recommend Ray for 1911 work. It was worth the wait.
Bored out my citori chokes and did a great job. Fast, reliable, and clear communication.
Great products and excellent customer service!
I have a Springfield XD-40 that needed a barrel modification a couple of years ago. The gunsmith at Briley did an excellent job with this modification. The pistol works flawlessly. It is my intention to take any of my business to this excellent company. Highly recommended!
Correction. Do not buyubuy anything from this company over phone. Completely disorganized. Physically go in before you buy. Do not order over the phone they do not know what they have in stock. Ordered a few sets of chokes for a team when they arrived they were wrong supposedly overnighted the correct ones and was missing some because they were not in stock. Sent a return label and postage which the post office refused because it was over 14 days old, and not enough. Had to pay for postage to send back for their mess up. our team will not endorse or use their product our sponsor is not happy about it either.
I had trigger work and chokes opened on two side by sides. Bothjobs were completed perfectly. Very fair prices, fast turn-aroundand excellent packaging for the return shipment. Will use Brileyagain.
Great service, cool staff, and a really good selection of shotguns and chokes.
Super service and the best chokes in the world! If you need your shotgun worked on, there is no better choice!
Great service.. they actually sent me a part without payment. Just said mail a check when you can..I mean who does this today... highly recommend...
Originally started with a 5 star review. Two components; (1.) PRODUCT quality is outstanding. Proud owner of 20+ Briley chokes across 4 gauges. (2.) In my opinion (and as shared by a number of other shooters), Briley Service can improve.
I love your company every hunting season I brag about Braley accessories for my shotgun.
I am new to shotgun sports. My coach recommended Briley for all things related to shotguns, especially chokes. Yesterday was my first visit. Gretchens level of service was impeccable. She was patient with my entry level questions. I absolutely love this place and would highly recommend them!
Gunsmith services - Im normally understanding/easy to deal with and rather leave a great review however.. Brought a revolver in for an easy trigger job and spring kit install. They said it would take 2 weeks for $125; sure okay not too terrible. In actuality, once there they kept delaying the completion date, and it took them 3 weeks instead (and thats only because I persistently called at about 1.5 weeks in for updates). When it was finally done, they attempted to charge over $200 for working slower apparently (and nearly got upset with me for disputing the incorrect charge). They didnt even install the spring kit (which I provided, and specifically had noted to call me during that install)... very poor first (and last) impression
These guys did a fabulous job on my rem 700 trigger.... turn around time was great also, very professional. I have sent them many customers and all with similar results, top notch.
Fellow readers,My husband has used Briley for many years; I’ve never been there, but he has told me so much about them, I feel as though I have been.He bought me a 1958 Belgium Browning Sweet Sixteen and sent it to them for refinishing the stock and machine work. They over-bored, lengthened the forcing cones, back bored the barrel and installed a Briley choke and added 4 additional tubes. The stock had a break on the back of the fore-arm, common with this model. Years of wear and tear had done a job on the stock, most was minor, but a few significant dents. The barrel was returned 1st. Briley did an incredible job on the metal work. Thin wall chokes had to be used, as the barrel was thin towards the muzzle. The choke was centered perfectly. The stock was absolutely beautiful. He repaired the break, EVERY dent/ding was gone and he bettered the wood/metal fit. I had originally requested an oil finish and I was called by the gunsmith who discussed the possibility of using a finish they perfected that was satin, but extremely durable, which I chose.I cannot say enough about the quality of workmanship and quality that comes out of the Briley Shop. My husband has referred all of his friends to them and not one has had the 1st problem. They are the very best at what they do.Sincerely,Mrs. Michael Brewer
I sent my barrel off to Brileys o get my choke threads threaded. I talked to them over the phone and they were very nice and cooperative. I got my barrel back when they said that it would be done and got back exactly what I asked for. Great place and great service
I had a good experience with Briley, and although the chokes I purchased didnt fit, I was able to work with Gary to resolve the situation. I appreciate the good communication and willingness to help solve my issues as a customer. These guys can make anything, and its a great one-stop online and physical shop.Cons: upon ordering, the site asks for the gun and characteristics, and I filled it in expecting a cross check for compatibility. They know much more than I do! For some reason, I received chokes for a double barrel, but I needed an over-under. Who knew they werent the same. In the end we resolved the issue, though. Would do business with again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I made you guys a 10 stars review! Awesome and beautiful place!
Briley has great employees and they make the best chokes around. They also have done great stock adjustments and they fitted my gun, along with adding a kick eez to it. They are definitely the best gun shop in the greater Houston area by far.
This place is awesome. I highly recommend. All employees are fantastic and helpful.
2/3/19On Jan. 23, 2019, I ordered an Improved Cylinder choke from Briley for my Benelli 20-GA M-2 shotgun. I paid $99.74 at that time to the company. The choke they originally sent me would not even fit in the barrel of my 20 GA shotgun. So, I had to pay an additional $20.00 to ship via UPS the wrong choke back to Briley. I specifically asked that my 2nd choke PLEASE be expedited to me by Sat., Feb. 2, as I need it for a quail hunting trip this week. As of today (Sunday, Feb. 3), I still do not have Any choke in my possession. Since I will be leaving town tomorrow for my hunting trip, I will not be here this week to receive the new choke, should it arrive. It will not be of any use to me after this weeks quail hunting trip, until I go again-whenever? So, I have basically wasted over $120.00 and my time for nothing. A Very Disappointing Experience in Every Way! (Mike in Alabama)
Ive had lots of work done with these guys and bought plenty of accessories. Ive had nothing but great experiences. They do great work and stand behind it.
They did excellent job installing muzzle break for 300 Win Mag (Briley) and 375 H&H (Blaser). It took some time but it was worth to wait. Highly recommended.
I had Briley install choke tubes for my ole Ruger Red Label, the work is perfect, completed quickly and shipped backed packed better than Ive seen anything packed.
These guys did a fabulous job on my Model 12.... turn around time was great also, very professional.
The leader in shotguns and experts in pistols have started to offer 3 gun type modifications and services. Excellent service.
Brought in a Remington 870 Barrel to be cut off for a SBS project. Put a piece of tape on the barrel exactly where I wanted the cut to done. Waited 2 weeks received the call it was ready and it was cut 1/2 too short. Really disappointed that I have to buy another barrel and start over. Specifically brought it here because of their reputation.
I ordered thin walled chokes on October 9, 2017. I requested delivery be the end of that week. I received notification that my order was mailed on 10/16/17 a week later indicating 3 day deliver. As of Friday October 20 no receipt. I called and complained that I desperately needed them for the National sporting clay competition in San Antonio. The supervisor took my call and said: “what are you afraid of”. . I hung up the phone. It was a terrible experience. I will not do business with them in the futures. I called again on 10/20/17 and was told that Briley could not explain the delay but to hold on for a few days. Too late unfortunately. I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of goods historically. It was very disappointing. I’m without chokes orThe National championships in San Antonio.
I rarely leave reviews but here we go.Took my 300 Weatherby in to get a muzzle break . They had my gun for at least 2 months before I called to get an update then was told they ruined the finish on my brand new gun . So they offered to saracoat my rifle to cover the now brown barrel . I’m not a huge gun collector so this sounded reasonable until I spoke with my friend who actually worked at Briley previously .He explained the saracoat is only a temporary fix and they should replace your barrel instead .After many phone calls and gun smith talking down to me like I’m a. Idiot I’m still without a gun 6 months later . Not 1 phone call or update to date.I’m a busy guy and work very hard for my money . If you do the same I suggest you look elsewhere for a dependable gun Smith cause this ain’t the one .Thanks briley you have provided a 1 Star customer service experience.Call me anytime to update me about my rifle .Thank you, TK
Excellent service and they stand behind their products!
I ordered several choke tubes from Brileys, assuming their quality would be top notch. When I received and looked at the choke tubes, I noticed all of them except one had been double printed on the side of the choke tube. I called Brileys to tell them about the problem. The person I talked to (I didnt ask their name) said QC should have caught that, and those choke tubes should not have been shipped. So, I received replacement choke tubes today and was surprised to see that one the replacements was double printed as well. This tells me that Brileys does not see this as a problem worth their effort to correct. This is disappointing, as Briley choke tubes are more expensive than choke tubes from other reputable makers. So, if you order something from Brileys, be sure to check it carefully and make sure it does not have any problems, as their QC may or may not see it.
This is amazing place ever GODS bless you guys
Little expensive but good prouducts and very knowledgeable
Very bad service, very arrogant. I put my AYA gun to fix a problem with the forend. Not a big issue but needed to be fixed. This was December 11, 2015. At that time they said it takes 6-8 weeks which was fine with me. two months gone and no word from Briley. I called 6 times since and each time I get a brief answer that its not done. Today March 8th I called and was told that the gunsmith didnt get to it yet, no explanation - no idea when the work will be done. They as much suggested that I can get my gun back, which Im having to do after waiting nearly three months in vain.
Pros: They do great work, whether it is chokes, or gunsmithing. Ive had 3 barrels ported, 3 forcing cones lengthened, and one backbored. Excellent barrel work. Parkerized finishes on guns have held up for years, still look new.Cons: Despite the great work, I hate dealing with the people there. The salesmen always promise the work to be done quicker than it is. So if they tell you itll be ready in one week, they mean two. This has happened to me multiple times. Also, what good is a showroom if you have to wait 10 minutes for the halp-asleep salesmen to help you?Briley does good work, but a holier-than-thou culture permeates throughout their work force.
Great staff and great experience.
Excellent customer service and quality goods
Very helpful and attentive staff
Needed a new recoil pad for my yildiz over and under after I decided I didnt like an after market part that I installed. Briley a call and they shipped me an old one they had sitting around for free. That type of customer service is unheard of these days. They can certainly expect to receive my business in the future
Always helpful at Briley.
Awesome.
Very top I just didnt like it because there is no free food and there is no naked woman taking it off it was good
Because it serves you very well and they are very good prices, and very friendly
