Fresh produce and products, this place is currently practicing social distancing and following the COVID-19 safety guidelines. Is always good to see a store that cares the safety of its employees and that of its customers. The meat is well preserved and well seasoned,. If theres something they can improve on, is check out employees need better training to greet customers and ask about their experience visiting the store. I like shopping at this grocery store and will continue to do so.

Theres a very friendly staff here. There bilingual and very cheap. If theres somebody who cant speak English they will find somebody to speak English and drag them to come see you. They dont mind helping you at all and they always have smiles on their face. I feel safe because theres security inside. And they still have the mask mandate at this current moment so thats good too.

If you need to wire $money, then this is a great place to go! Safe n friendly.

I love this market! I enjoy shopping here when I dont want to go all the way to HEB. Its small but it carries a wide variety of items. Great selection of meats, vegetables, dried peppers, fruit, Mexican and Central American specialties. Feels like a market in Mexico, sometimes they stock some great coffee from Colombia, Cafe Sello Rojo! Sadly they didnt have it today. I really enjoy this coffee and when i went to Columbia, the locals were drinking it. They have a few Mole pastes, which is the reason for my visit today. Today I went with the Dona Maria brand, so easy to make. Just add broth from the chicken, mix with the paste, add the chicken. Its better than most restaurants! Make Mexican rice, heat up corn tortillas!! If you dont feel like making the rice you can buy some at the taqueria inside. Theres lots to said about this little corner market on Gessner/Beechnut! Cant end this without mentioning the fresh salsas at the checkout! Always good! Quite a variety, so good on Taco night!

Custer service sucks.. They dont want to work.

Went to buy tacos this morning and you have to pay before you get your food. You get your debit card receipt and you get an additional receipt to give to the cooks, by the time I got to the counter to place my order all the taco fillings were all sold out, when I asked for a refund the clerk said she would have to call the mgr, the mgr approached me with doubt and accused me of how do I know you didnt receive your tacos. I replied really? 4 tacos lady as you can see all your food is sold out, when I asked for a refund, she took upon herself to just refund me for 3 tacos. the nerve of her, when I said thank you she just threw her head in the air.

Don’t buy meat here, I bought 30 dollars worth of meat for the next day to prepare, I stored it in the proper place and temperature, when I’m ready to start to cook it I notice a really strong smell (rotten) it was obvious that it was not good. I asked multiple people on my household and they agreed, when I get to the store they tell me it was my fault cause I may have left it outside and there’s nothing I can do, they said the smell was completely normal, which wasn’t. Don’t waist your time on these rude people, go somewhere else!

Came to buy barbacoa today. Not real barbacoa it was shredded beef.

Good, the food, fruits, vegetables, and meat are good, you can find almost everything in that store, in the corner of Beechnut and Gessner, customer service was good, the Bucher, and the cashier was great. Thank you la michoacana supermarket.

Always a place to go for fresh groceries and meat

Great place for fresh, inexpensive produce, although it needs a little more cleaning and prep than a more expensive Randall’s or HEB. Close and convenient. Absolutely love the fajitas and my wife is a huge fan of the Caldo de Res: chicken soup deluxe. Bakery is also tasty if you like Mexican style pastries. Not a huge selection but they have all the basics, including a decent selection of beer. The security officer at the door used to put me on edge when I first started coming here but now I know them all by name. Friendly spot. Even welcoming to gringos like me. Definitely easier to navigate in Spanish than English.

Finally, La Michoacana store sign went up recent years. Inside of store also updated to match with other La Michoacana supermarkets. It used El Ahorro supermarket went it first opened. Cashiers are much friendlier during Covid-19 pandemic. I really appreciate the food is much fresher than before.

This evening I went too this Michoaca too buy a piece of cake tres leches. The second time this week I went too storetoo buy meat in Butcher department the employees was Javier who took my order very pleasant person and very professional.Several time he have taken my order in the pass. I like him too take my order because hes very pleasant and helpful.Liz is the cashier who help me with my items after very pleasant professional as well.
