Cashier was extremely friendly & helped bag my things.

They used to be a solid two stars. Now they have more products, including higher quality ones, and a friendlier return policy.Still some things to look out for. Example; for a large project we need to purchase 25% extra so that after sorting out the rejects we have enough good quality ones for our project. As a number of reviews point out, the expertise of Menards employees is not so great, due to the high turnover.Now their outside yard area is also more organized.At times their dock (pickup) area has drywall screws that are looking for a tire.

Always find what I need, but always buy more than I intended, great place to shop, best deals, and always have everything for the DIY handyman

Sold me a faulty power washer. Purchased online. Paid full price. When I picked it up, told me it was a floor model. Got it home to use, nothing worked. No pressure and soap siphon pushed water into the soap tank. Menards won’t take it back until I take it to a separate business to see if they can fix it first.Done doing business at Menards. Home Depot, Lowe’s, and local Ace store will get all my business going forward.

Slow service. Was waiting 20 minutes to pick up windows that I had ordered online. Staff were a little moody as well... overall not terrible, they got the job done, but my time was not respected.

WOW! The person working the appliance desk was busy on the phone for 20 minutes, asked 4 different employees for help purchasing a freezer not one could do it,wasnt their department. Finally number 5 Sam said she could help, wasnt her department either but she got the job done. Must be lack of training . When I go to order pick up there is 6 people standing around and the person who was on the phone is the one who picked the order. I just dont understand how they can operate this way.

Mostly very good merchandise. MasterCraft tool line is for occasional users, not for regular tradesmen. I like that I know the store layout so I can get in and out timely. I run a tile installation business and get most of my tile installation materials from trade vendors, but rely on Menards for backup.

Menards generally gives you the choice to pick two of the three options: price, quality, and quantity. Sometimes you get lucky and get all three in one. Example: suet cakes. Birds love them. I like seeing birds, so I get them plenty of cakes. Who sells the most of them at an affordable, cant-be-beat price? Thats right - your local Menards. If you go want all three traits in one, get their big box of suet cakes. Ace Hardware is probably double or triple the price.

Menards is reasonably well stocked with building supplies, and I appreciate the mandatory mask policy. Most of the staff in the building materials section are pretty knowledgeable about materials and supplies. I used their online tool to plan materials needed for an addition I am working on. Thats a tool that needs some refinement. I got too much of lots of stuff, other stuff completely missing. Yard returns are a bit of a process (5 separate stops), but the customer service desk staff is very helpful.

I needed new doors and floors, instead of letting me get what I needed and go an employee was rather rude about how I will wear a mask or leave. I can get better tools and much better service at Home Depot.

Went to exchange a marine battery that was bought 7 months ago with free 1 year replacement. The battery is completely dead. Apparently they do not engrave nor have a sticker with date codes on when they sell a battery. They wouldnt honor the exchange. Shame I will never purchase our construction materials there again.

Although the store is pretty understaffed they do what they can to help! They helped me find what I needed pretty fast and the manager really cool!

Seems busy! Stimulus checks got everyone to organize. No more of the small shelving pieces I needed so only 4 stars. But 6 stars for having enough extreme cold weather window washing fluid. Oh, and a Kayak hoist system. Great employees!!

Menards carries so mich more in stock than home depot, and I find that more of theor workers are informed on the products they sell. They also seem to be better staffed and willing to answer your questions honestly, and not make things up when they are not experienced in that area.

Processing fee to pick up at store? Who does that? Menards. I was in the store, asked three people to find what I needed and they each told me to go to a different place. Finally I just ordered online, only to find I was charged a “processing fee” for store pick up. Will cancel and look at Home Depot.

The person working in plumbing was about as helpful as a door knob.

Ordered an item online that I later realized I didnt need. I asked if I could cancel the order, but was told I could not. I would need to pick-up the item, then return the item. If I did not do that the item would be returned to the store and after 90 days the order would disappear and I would have lost the $$ I spent on the items.

They are unfriendly, and dont help you find things your looking for.

I was shopping for 15-20 minutes at the Hudson WI. store without a mask(because of medical reasons) and one of the workers asked me to put a mask on, I told him I couldnt because of medical reasons, he asked me again and I again told him I couldnt, he grabbed his radio to call someone(probably security)andd I told him I would leave dont worry about it. Several other workers saw me and didnt say anything. I think this young kid was full of himself !! By the way I went to Home Depot and spent about $125 there.

Shopped in the Hudson Menards 7/5/20 . We were looking at flooring and found Michael who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. My wife asked a lot of questions and Michael answered them all with a smile. I think a smile he had a face mask on. It was a great experience and I will be back.

Ill tell you what I go to the Wisconsin one in Hudson because like I said before is more honest people in Wisconsin and their iron Minnesota better selection

Menards doesnt sell lumber and tools anymore.. The employees are now full time mask police.They were more worried about a guy with no mask than helping me find what lumber I needed. The guy who was in the middle of helping me walked away to chase an unmasked dude.Go to Home Depot. They want to sell lumber and tools.Menards is only interested in corporate virtue signals. They banned children under 16 for weeks.Even tried to tell you that your child couldnt exit your vehicle in their parking lot.I along along with everyone else should respect Menards right to manage their property by letting them manage empty stores.

Its a mere to go the lumber not familiar with woods. No soul is there to help new customers. You will be lucky if a forklift driver come by. Customer care doesnt exist. Only people who are pros do good at menards.

Saw the General Manager tell a customer to put on a mask to a person who stated that they had a medical condition. However, let other customers walk by without masks on and employees not wearing masks correctly.Double standard in my book which gives it a bad rating. Staff also seems to pass you off when you have a question using the phrase This is not my department.

Customer service is awful when you eventually find someone for customer service. The service desk clerk, that helped me today was no different. Rude, unfriendly, and not helpful. My local ACE hardware has competitive prices, and they are knowledgeable and friendly!

Only store around that you cannot enter without a mask if you have a medical condition. I was checking out and was talked to very sternly and rudely by the front end manager. She told me I was not allowed to be in the store without a mask. When I told her I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing one. She told me I have to do some sort of pick up. Sometimes that doesnt always work and their website isnt very user friendly for small things. Will be shipping at home where they dont discriminate against those with disablities. She was very rude and snotty. Said they can do this because they are privetly owned. There are tackful ways of talking to people and she used no tack.

There is a way to fit those 8 foot 2x4s in to your car!... Just use the on site chop saw. What a convenience :D

Please use more compassionate retailers

Was at the Hudson store. They went over and above to help us. Even called Menards West to see if they had the patio loveseat in stock we wanted and were very helpful in assisting to place the order there. But did purchase a 10,000 btu air conditioner and 2 patio chairs at the Hudson store. All departments went out of their way to help us. Even helped us apply for a Menards charge card. Picking up the loveseat at the Menards West store went very smoothly. No problems whatsoever.

Tried to rent a trim nail gun yesterday. Got it home. No battery. Back to Menards. Wait in line. Get battery. Go home. Put battery in trim nail gun. Wrong battery. Back to Menards. Wait in line. Given correct battery. Back home. Still won’t work. I open the user manual. It’s still missing the fuel cell. Back to Menards. Wait in line. Gave it back and got a full refund AND an “I’m sorry about that”. I spent two hours of a 4 hour rental contract just trying to get the necessary parts for this tool to work. Lesson learned - use a hammer and nails and avoid saving big money at Menards.

Here for over an hour now picking up stuff in lumber yard. Incredibly slow and lost part of our order and then didnt bother to tell us until the last second.

I would give this place a zero Stars if I could! I had the worst experience on Mothers Day with my wife and children in the car while getting building materials for a fence for my mother. While in the yard loading up materials that I had spent $2,300 on one of the semi truck drivers who was contracted through menards decided I was taking too long so he wanted to pull inches from the front of my truck. I Had No Way Out and ask Associates if the semi could back up since he purposely pulled in front of me to make a point and make it a difficult experience for me. When they approached him I could hear him from inside my truck swearing and saying this was my problem and now I could deal with it. Keep in mind this is my wifes Mothers Day and my children are in the car. I the customer then had to try and turn around a 16-foot trailer full of materials and an extremely tiny space with a 19 ft truck while the semi driver was clear behind him and only needed to backup a few feet but refused. While I was backing out the semi driver continued to inch his truck towards me leaving me even less room and creating a dangerous situation while my children were in the car. inventory was off so I couldnt even get all the materials I needed. After doing a 36 point turn with my truck and trailer to get out of the spot I had chatted with the managers. My family and I have spent well over $40,000 here in the last few years including an outdoor building, a pole barn, a deck, remodeling materials, and over 5 Acres of fencing. I had explained to them that we come here once weekly for materials for all of our various projects as well as the projects we help others with. I had asked for a 10% discount which I did not think was unreasonable considering the horrendous experience. They ended up giving me a little something right around 4%. That part I am grateful for however the message that was relayed to me through the situation was that my business as a customer wasnt even worth 10%. I had called back a little later to talk to the manager of the entire store just to confirm that I is a customer was not worth 10% despite all of the money that I spend there. And also to confirm that I as a customer was in the wrong. During this conversation the store manager told me that they did not have to give me any kind of a discount at all to which I responded that I did not have to spend my money there at all either but I did. I will go anywhere else for anything I need from now on no matter how far of a drive it is or how long I have to wait I will never shop here again as well as spreading the word to every one I know.

The plywood and other wood products are too expensive, we bought a yard type of ornament and one foot was broke off and they only gave us 5 dollars off the price.

It used to be such a great place to go,and now, not ONE employee asked me if I needed help and there was plenty of them!

After a part on our ceiling fan broke I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new fan because I could not find the part online. Andy and Larry in the lighting and fan section pulled the part off of one of their fans and got me taken care of. Awesome customer service and much appreciated!

If Home Depot had J channel for steel we would have went there. Shopping at Menards is painful.

Menards was already caught price gouging during a pandemic and national emergency. Not surprising! However i was surprised to find out that they are requiring masks. I find this to be a good thing imho. However, they are charging 1$ a mask to shop in there stores. Always a way to make a buck. And im sure no hazardous pay to the employees who are risking there lives keeping the rich wealthy as always. HOW MANY YACHTS DO THEY NEED?

Very inconvenient currently not being able to bring my child (7months) into the store. Understand these are unseen times but I should be able to decide if my child can come in or not
