Took my car in due to a leak. Had the engine mount and the some general maintenance done. Did a great job and they were timely. Got home and the next day found my headlight scratched and cracked in multiple places. In the end the Tuffy team went above and beyond. Replaced the headlight for me. We offered to help pay for it but Tuffys covered it all.Going above and beyond for their customers is what keeps people coming back.Big thank you to the whole team

I had the catalytic converter stolen off my Prius and it was a nightmare! I ordered the parts I needed and went to multiple muffler shops that turned me away because it had to be welded on instead of bolted. The guys at Tuffy were awesome! Graham was super friendly, professional, and informative! He confirmed I got the right part and assured me they could do the repair, then it only took a couple hours to complete and was super affordable. They even checked my tire pressure and cleared my check engine light before I left! Even the lobby coffee was good! I hope the part is never stolen again, but if it is I would absolutely trust them to do it again as well as any other repairs. It means a lot to find mechanics you can trust!

Sketchy Business...Went in for a alignment due to a tire noise and was told I didnt need an alignment but instead needed a driver side wheel hub which was already replaced by me one year prior. They said it would be nearly $800 for them to replace it.Bought my own wheel hub on RockAuto for $120 and when I went to replace it, found out it my current wheel hub that they said was bad was actually perfectly fine.Then, I took my car to another shop for an alignment and they did it without trying to up sell me (an alignment actually solved my problem) and told me that Tuffys is known to scam...Pretty odd Tuffy was going to recommend me to pay $800 for something my car didnt even need.Also, the owner doesnt know how RockAuto works.

I dropped my car off at Tuffy after experiencing overheating issues. I was expecting it to be a major and costly repair but they found the source of the problem and corrected it for far less than I expected. Great place.

Was very professional and customer service with work done on my Madza cx7 and Check engine light. The sensor was changed and she running smooth.

Took my truck in to have Tuffy’s put a muffler and exhaust pipe on and do a wheel alignment. They did not even finish the exhaust, they only put a muffler on and had the exhaust stop under the vehicle before the rear axle. Told the manager that wasn’t what I asked them to do and he said that it’s just a safety thing to have it finish out the rear... Paid full price for a job that was literally not finished. Then charged us $350 to replace four bolts that were “rounded” out even though I put those bolts in myself a month ago and they were completely fine then. I wouldn’t trust them with your vehicle.

I went in to have my tires rotated and ended up needing new tires. They drove me home so I didn’t have to wait there which was so nice!! They were fairly priced and very kind.

Childish is the best description of this place. They replaced my spark plugs but when I got back into my truck my average MPG was down significantly and my fuel was down a quarter of a tank from when I dropped it off. Seems like they had fun driving my truck hard around the block. Won’t be coming back here ever again. Very poor professionalism.

Awesome experience for my first time in. Needed a performance exhaust installed for my SS Camaro and Ben did an amazing job installing and welding her up. Graham was also very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Super happy with the outcome of the work done and the whole experience working with these guys. Was trying to figure out why my car wouldn’t start two days ago. Was told - starter needs to be replaced . $450. Started worked just fine, as confirmed by another automotive shop.Hard not to see it as an attempt to rip you off.

I always felt that they were very genuine about helping me fix the multiple issues my car had, without trying to push for more in an already stressful situation as some shops will do. They are also very helpful about getting my car taken care of around my work schedule even on days that they were clearly very busy themselves. I will definitely continue to use them for future maintenance on my vehicle!

This place is excellent! I first took my car to a dealership for a repair and was told the engine would need to be removed to fix my problem. Not wanting to spend thousands of dollars I took it to Tuffy and the mechanic quickly figured out how to avoid removing the engine to correctly do the repair. Tuffy saved me over $1300 (net) in addition to outsmarting the auto manufacturer (Nissan). All work performed far exceeded my expectations. Goodbye Huntersville Ford and Modern Nissan!

My Truck exhaust sounds better than ever before! Great service and even my Uber driver told me he always takes his car here. About a year ago, I left my car with a professional to attach a set of mufflers to my 17 Mustang. I knew nothing about cars, and it looked okay, so I trusted that everything was fine. Today, I rolled into the Tuffy parking lot with my right muffler barely hanging on, just about three inches above pavement. The left one was not far behind. Tuffy confidently accepted my prior Picasso themed installation and returned my car to me within a couple of hours, no appointment needed. They communicate very well, theyre incredibly nice and everything looks beautiful. Theyre very informative, telling me exactly what was removed, how it was fixed, and I was never blindsided on the total it would be. Amazing welder and team.

Visual effects so that I could see what was being explained was also helpful. Car was stolen from stores parking lot over the weekend, was told the building has no cameras and that they never saw or received keys to the car, seemed strange to me since I put the keys in there locked overnight drop box, whole thing seemed sketchy do not recommend you using or leaving your car over night at this facility! Had also used them previously to work on my truck was charged for new windshield wipers but when I picked up my tuck after they had closed. I noticed they had not replaced the wipers at all. Bad management skills Can’t trust that they actually do what you paid for!

Greta customer service when in the store, but I can never get the phone answered any more when I try to call. I can’t walk in to make an appointment due to work, and now I apparently can’t call and make one either.

Custom exhaust fabrication with perfect fitment, in about an hour. Couldnt have asked for more. Ben went the extra mile and installed a flange that mates with the muffler, so that the exhaust system is easily upgradeable in the future. Everyone at Tuffy was very accommodating. Went in for a simple NC inspection, and for a 9am APPT scheduled two days prior, no less ... I also agreed to oil change, which i thought was sorta high @ $70, but I do use synthetic oil, and prices may have gone up a bit since COVID, so ok fine. Normally I do them myself, but decided to let them do to save me time and headache in this summer heat. While i was waiting for my car, the guy Graham came out and recommended i also get detergent to flush out bad oil first for $15. Normally I dont ever do these things, but I relunctantly agreed since i do have a high mileage vehicle. However, I asked if they had any discount coupons to save me a little money, since i agreed to both an oil change WITH a detergent flush. He said sure, hed check. When my car was done (nearly 2 1/2 hours later btw!) - the bill was over $113... WHOA Sticker shock! I know labor is a factor, but really? Upon seeing the bill breakdown (AFTER Id given card to pay btw), I expected the $30 for inspection -- But the oil change was listed at $90 ... LESS a $25 discount which they applied. I politely asked Wait, I thought you said the oil change was $69 originally? Way before any discounts were even asked for... not $90. He said Yea it was, but thats after the discount... Wow. Just insane. He upcharged me so he could give me a discount. I gave the guy assisting me Graham a hard blank stare, mumbled well thats not what you quoted me, and walked out very irritated. I had no idea the oil change was gonna be anywhere close to $90. If so Id have just said no it doesnt need it that bad, and declined to even do it. Or better yet, he could have just been upfront and said Sorry no discounts right now ... and Id have been ok w/ it. But to upcharge me to give me a discount is just bad business practice.First off, who pays $90 for an oil change for a standard car ANYWHERE on the planet? Even with a discount! I dont drive a BUS! Thats just BAD BUSINESS to upcharge the customer first, only so you can apply a discount! And to do so without informing the customer first before being billed? Hidden costs! Secondly, Why did I even MAKE an appointment if it was gonna take TWO 1/2 hours for an inspection and an oil change? Ive been here a few times before in recent years, and usually its been pretty decent service -- until NOW. But after this horrible experience I will NOT be going back, due to poor business practices, dishonesty, and upcharging for service or products you do not need. Ironically, someone mentioned to me this years ago about them, but I gave this location the benefit of doubt -- Not anymore. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!

Great guys. Great service. From the manager to the service personnel, they maintain a high level of integrity and honesty. My sons Honda Civic had a transmission problem and he was broke down across from the store. They were nice enough to come out to help him and had him rolling again within 15 minutes.

Weve been here a number of times with a older problem vehicle. These guys are very helpful, completely understanding and totally trustworthy. They provided us with options, perfectly explained and executed on everything they said they would. It is good to have them in Huntersville as they have our business for good.

First thing I will say is, THANK YOU. Its hard to find good service that is trustworthy. I brought my old Dodge in for an alignment because I am experiencing some tire wear on my steering tires. The technician hooked my truck up to the machine and determined that I didnt need an alignment. He performed some other health checks and found nothing. He did rotate my tires and adjust my air pressure. Needless to say, the old Dodge is steering better and hopefully this will save my tires.A lot of shops would have charged me a fee or simply charged me for the alignment without actually doing it, but not Tuffy; they only charged me for the rotation and saved me at least $100.Also, I would like to say the location is perfect for a lunch break visit. I went at lunch time and while they were working on my truck, my son and I walked 2 minutes across the street to have lunch. By the time we were done, my truck was waiting on me; SUPER FAST SERVICE!

I would recommend this place to others, as long as you know what the problem is. But I was not satisfied with the end result from them.Vehicle: 2006 Mini Cooper SI really appreciated the professional and kind attitude from the service managers and everything they did for me but I dont think I will be coming back. They just simply couldnt find the issue with my car but I found it myself in 10 minutes after their suggestions with what may or may not have been wrong. If I spend $80 on a diagnostic, I would expect it to be very thorough. From what I could tell though, it was just a computer diagnostic and a visual inspection, something you can do at home or at AutoZone. My issue was with a diagnostic code signifying a lean engine condition. They told me it was my K&N filter after ruling out exhaust or intake leaks. Turns out it was low fuel pressure under idle conditions after conducting a test myself. after replacing the fuel filter, the code disappeared. Again, if they find the issue, they WILL fix it and they will fix it for good. But only if.

These guys are extremely honest and fair. Have had several dealings with them where they could have told me x, y or z needed replacing. Most recently with brakes. My Versa had a 100,000 miles on it and I asked them to check it. There was no pulling, lack of braking, etc., it just seemed like it had been a lot of miles. They said my brakes were fine and I would have gone with whatever they said. $500, $600, who knows? That says a lot to me. They also show you everything about any problem before they fix it. This is an excellent shop.

Took my Mercedes in. Both rear muffler heat shields were broken and hanging. This shop took me in the same day. The mechanic was very kind. He approached me and explained what was wrong and the different solutions. He said the easiest solution would be to screw in new bolts as opposed to removing the shields or buying new ones. They screwed it back on and did not charge me as it was a simple fix. So very thankful for the honesty and kindness of this shop! :)

I spent good money here trying to fix my car the owner is rude and has no memory of how to treat his customers. Every question I asked about my car was answered w/ an attitude and never gave a direct answer. Horrible customer service. The team tho was great and did there job!!

Graham was very nice and helpful over the phone, was doing an install with Magnaflow Axle backs and was set on installing them that day! I called all shops in the area and the only place that had open slots was Tuffy! Total came to 85 bucks which is half what another place was trying to charge me and Tuffy even did it in half the time!!! Definitely recommend this location!

This place will NOT take your money and run. They care about the customer and what they drive. I had work done on my 2010 acura and the technician named Ben did a outstanding job. You can tell he know his stuff..lol. I will most definitely be returning to get work done on my vehicle again!

There were a couple of guys that worked on my exhaust and put 2 new flowmasters on and they did an excellent job really happy with the work and looking forward to business in the future.

Prices are middle of the road.... Staff seemed uninterested in questions I had about my tires and the website needs updated...... They DO NOT DO NITROGEN FILLS.... Youd be better off at Griffin Bros. where there is a nice atmosphere and waiting area...

So I came because my Jeep was making a noise. They ssid it was the Catalyic converter and since I just had it done. I took it back to him. Well he said that it wasnt the converter it was the manifold. Well I bought a new Manifold took it to my mechanic who said the manifold was good. I still had the noise. Took it back to Tuffy. He tightened some screws that were loose on the manifold. Showed me what was what and no noise. They were great. Thats all I have to say. They didnt try to pretend like it was something worse than it was to get my money. They helped me out. I will be using them again

March 18, 2014 - I took my Infinity G 35 Coupe to have the routine work - they did not purge the air out of the cooling system after work performed and my car overheated!The car would not stop overheating even with water full. The Tech originally though it is not their fault and I may need radiator, water pump, intake manifold, but after a few days, the Tuffy Store agreed to make another run at the issueAfter a day, they resolved the issue which ended up being a unique burping procedure to the Infinity G 35 Coupe...The store and Tuffy chain of stores has earned my respect and future years of business. They pushed through a difficult trouble shooting effort to find the issue and back their service...I highly recommend them for your repairs!

Great experience! Needed some custom exhaust and welding done and they jumped right on it. Not only doing it right but fixing the last shops mistakes. Also did a fantastic job on aligning a very aftermarket suspension. This place knows what it is doing!!

Had a major tire blowout last night coming into Huntersville. I Had it towed to here. Spoke to Employee Gram this morning and he was ready for my call. I have Mickey Thompson tires and I knew they didnt stock him but Gram came to the rescue. He had already called and located the tire. The price was spot on with what it should be with mounted. I said Yes. He said It will be ready right after lunch. Highly recommend the team. I was a bit nervous because of the low review numbers be he assured me that was previous employees. Ben at Tuffy Auto is the best. It’s good to know that there is still somewhere around where you can trust the shop to shoot straight with you. Ben says “we don’t turn a wrench around here without you giving us the ok” and thats how it should be. My truck is 12 years old now and after Ben got ahold of it, it drives better than it did when I first bought it. Fair prices, good communication and work that they stand behind.

Be cautious. These people will try to screw you over. My girlfriend took her vw in for a check engine light. They told her she needed 4 new spark plugs and 4 ignition coils. They were quoting her just under $1,000 for parts and labor.They were trying to charge almost three times the cost for the parts . Needless to say, I bought the parts at local auto parts store for $170, and completed the maintenance myself in about 45 minutes.

I went in for the first and only time for an oil change. The small lobby offers coffee and enough seats for everyone that was waiting while I was there. Customer service was prompt and friendly. However, after I got my car back I found a tool under the hood.

Worst experience ever!!! Took my Challenger srt8 in for exhaust work (Just mufflers) the first go around they put the mufflers to close to the Drive shaft and it was rubbing something fierce. pretty much destroyed the muffler I got (1 of 2 of them). Took it back for them to fix, they got the muffler off the drive shaft, almost dropped my car off the lift! and its still not right. My tail pipes are not centered or aligned, the exhaust is still rubbing my drive shaft. Had to take my car to the dealership they replaced my wheel bearing (which was fine before I went) and now I have to take it to Muffler Masters in Kanapolis so the Experts can fix what Tuffy Screwed up. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!! unless you dont like your car and want extra stuff damaged that is.Also first estimate was $150, they called to tell me it would be $300, which is ridiculous they said they already started working on it so it is what it is. Took them 10+ hours to put mufflers on and partially destroy my car.

Ok. So I got an oil change and I had a coupon got an oil change a week ago. I check my car tonight and no oil I usually dont have this problems my car almost still working. SMH. I do not recommend this person to no one

1 hr, 15 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation! I made an appt for an oil change and tire rotation, was 10 minutes late but only one car being worked on in the bays. I was told that was a normal time for this service. Tuffy in Mooresville does this service with no appt in 40 minutes max, usually less time. I will not be back

Ive been to Tuffys with various vehicles over the years for all kinds of different work, and have always been pleased with the price and quality of workmanship. However....I just had a 4-wheel Disc Break job done on a 2010 Chevy Malibu, and although the workmanship seems fine, the price was not. Not at all.Labor for turning rotors and installing disc pads on all (4) wheels was $360?!?! (Yes, thats all that was done...)Parts listed on the invoice are standard NAPA part #s. Tuffys added a 100% markup to NAPAs price.If I had the time, I could have done the entire job myself for around $100 - $120. And come to find out, the Chevy Dealer would have done the job for over $150 less than Tuffys, and used better parts....Tuffys got me for almost $600.Over a decade of repeat business has come to an end. This was a rip-off. Never again Tuffys.

Just had a new muffler welded in, charged me $170 for labor and clamps, but also fixed minor issues throughout the exhaust system. Overall quality work.
