Nice coffee shop. Large and open feeling, friendly staff. We went midday and there were only a handful of other people around, so it was quiet. Great place to get some work done or study. Nice ambience. Coffee/pastries arent amazing, but theyre still good, if a bit pricey.

The quality and selection of pour over coffee’s and waterbean is great. I would like to see a better selection of craft espresso drinks.They have interesting snack and food options. I’ve tried mochi in their Macarons neither of which seemed overly fresh. They also have beer and wine; however, the worker said all the beer on tap was flat.The coffee shop has a decent amount a place for seating, and a meeting room if needed.

Hi, the barista I had messed up my order and laughed at me when I nicely asked about it. I am at Waterbean on Sam Furr road in Hunterville and I ordered a mango boba blended with popping boba inside. I order this same drink every time and usually get the same thing every time. Today Wednesday november 3rd at 3:55 pm I ordered the same thing I have every time and instead of it being orange like it has been every time I order it, the drink was brown. I asked the younger barista with brown hair if it was mango flavor and she said “yes, thats what you wanted right?” And I said yes and took a sip and it tasted nothing like mango was creamy instead of sweet like normal. I went back and said hi sorry to bother you im not sure if this is mango and she said “no it is mango, I made it” and I decided Id rather not fight her about it. What caused me to really write this is that she was talking to two of her friends who were studying at the high top the entire time I was ordering, and while I walked away the 2nd time she said to her friend “Wow, didnt know you worked here” and laughed at me. This is the first time Ive had a bad time at water bean and that was completely uncalled for especially when I have ordered this drink almost 100 times and never had it be brown.This is extremely disrespectful of her especially after I added a nice tip to my order for her.The website only allows for 80 characters in the comments so I decided to leave a review...

I had a mocha and breakfast sandwich. Both were good! All sandwiches come with a sauce which I omitted. The staff was friendly and efficient. The cafe was extremely cozy. We sat outside due to our comfort and it was a beautiful day outside. I believe there was a fountain outside too which would have been wonderfully relaxing had it been on.

I ordered the only thing I could drink which was a smoothie. The smoothie was great I just wish they had more options for people that dont drink coffee or tea. I understand that its a coffee shop.

The coffee here is great but that’s about it. The food is good but feels overpriced if you’re trying to feed a few kids. We stopped here for breakfast after staying in a nearby hotel. There is tons of outdoor seating and there is a green space right in front that was great for kids to run around. The bathrooms were awful however and when you have kids it just super disappointing to have to manage that process in a nasty bathroom. The garbage cans in the stalls were completely full from the day before (we were there before 8am) and the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling were covered in dust so it’s been a while since that bathroom had a good cleaning. The handicap stall was also super dusty- the walls, the baseboards, the handicap rails 🤢. If you just want a nice coffee its a great break from Starbucks but just go somewhere else to pee.

Great interior, lots of chairs and places to relax. Only problem is our chai latte and hot chocolates were so watery and lacked flavor.

Nice place with friendly staff, but its way too cold in there. The staff say they have been instructed by the owner not to turn up the heat or turn on the gas fireplace. I could barely feel my fingers while trying to work in here. Other than this comfort, would recommend for take out unless your a penguin.

Very hip coffee joint with a small variety of pastries and food. I love coming with friends to chat and drink coffee. I did wish they had more sofas. I dont even mind sitting in the ripped ones.

I’ve been going to Waterbean for years, and I’m disappointed. Walking into the Huntersville location feels like a big letdown now. It has so much potential, but the months-old spiderwebs and dead bugs in the window sills, the tattered white chairs, the fireplace that sits cold and unused, and the silence that greets you when you walk in all distract from it being a cheery place. A few changes could make a huge difference and make it feel like a welcoming coffee shop. Get a crackling fire going. Turn on some music. Replace the furniture and clean in the corners, and maybe people will remember this for its legitimately good coffee and friendly employees instead of heading to the nearest ‘bucks instead.

I am always on a lookout for a well made Cortado and viola I found it right here in Huntersville. Water bean coffee has some wonderful servings of coffee and tea. It serves some gourmet sandwiches too. Will surely visit again!

When a customer asks for an espresso shot and a turkey bagel, to have them there, you dont give him the espresso in a to-go cup, come ooon!This shows that you have nothing to do with a real espresso, but youre lucky working in a very nice facility of this kind.The espresso was ok-ish, but I would have loved to have it in a real espresso cup.

Before my review: If youre not familiar with the shopping center, you cant see the shop easily from the main roads. If you pull in near Target, its your first left after the gas station. If you enter on the Lowes side, you have to turn right, once you see the pond, it will be across from you.If youre a black coffee drinker, this is a great place to get a good pour over or french press. A lot of non-chain coffee shops only have good espresso drinks but their standard coffee is mediogre, this place isnt one of those. Many if not all of their coffee selections are organic.They also have pretty good pastries and sandwiches. There are also a lot of vegan options including pastries.

Had the Honduran pour over, good cup of joe, a cigar wouldve capped it off nicely. Blueberry muffin was outstanding. Staff very friendly and welcoming

Very clean, the cashier was very nice. Some friends and I used the meeting room for about 2 hours. It got really hot back there with the door closed so we had to open it which I didnt really care for because of the nature of the meeting. Also my lemon poppy seed muffin was dry from sitting in the warmer up front. The muffin gets 2 stars. I also ordered an iced vanilla latte which was decent (4 stars) The place overall is worth 3.5.

Good coffee drinks, hot or cold. My kids had a strawberry smoothie and I had a few sips....it was quite good.Though the sea salt Carmel brownies had chocolate chips but I didnt even taste Carmel in them.

Large store with plenty of seating. There are a few couches, a fireplace and a ton of 4 top tables. There is wine, tea, coffee and smoothies available as well as some baked goods and sandwiches. This is a great place to meet a client or to get a group together at.

My visit Sunday morning was without a moments wait. Arrived at 10: 15 am and expected it to be packed but there were a few couples and singles at tables. The cashier was very detailed and the cook, as attentive. The breakfast sandwich, Egg/Ham/Cheese Croissant was perfectly perfect. Lots of clean, open space, with lovely cafe decor. The service was on point the prices reasonable and the staff very hospitable!

A bit pricey...and the baked goods are boring. Some nice sandwiches. Friendly, competent staff, I hope you pay them a decent percentage of corporate profits. Love the environment for small group conversations👌👏

Stopped in the other night with my wife. First, let me say the coffee was all we tried, and it was good. I had a latte and she had a pour over. The staff were friendly and helpful. So while strictly from a coffee (and Im sure the food is good) point of view, I would recommend Waterbean.The atmosphere, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I am not trying to be overly critical, but it felt like a time warp to the 90s, in a bad way. The were tons of tables, complete with white pleather chairs. They were packed in, and the effect was to make us feel claustrophobic rather than relaxed and able to enjoy our coffee (and there were very few people in while we visited). There was also a large shiny white piano near the entrance, and it just felt out of place. Again, the coffee and service were fine, but Waterbean has a very different (dated?) feel from most other coffee shops in the area.

The atmosphere inside is very relaxed. Families were coming in for coffee and hot chocolates. Others were working on there laptops. There was even a piano in the corner. My cappuccino was well made and came to the table nice and hot. They garnish your plate with a single chocolate covered espresso bean, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately the latte’s my parents orders came to the table warm. The flavor was good but no one likes warm coffee. This is also not a convenient plaza to get in and out of.

This place as stellar during my visit today. From the moment I was greeted by the folks behind the counter, gosh they were friendly, it was like I came home for lunch and a coffee...oh yes, the coffee was so perfectly crafted. Not the sweet syrupy kind weve been served elsewhere, but perfectly balanced. I will definitely be back here!!!

Excellent coffee and cool decor

Nice big place with lots of chairs and tables, couches etc. Great tea selection if you like tea. I had a coconut herbal one which was very good. Good sandwich selection also. I loved my veggie melt. My only complaint would be it took 10 minutes to make my tea. Which if you are in a hurry on your way to work, would not fly with me. Luckily today I was off so it was ok. A lot of their tables were dirty and needed to be cleaned. But all in all a good experience.

Ive worked in the same shopping center for 3 years and have always loved Waterbean. From their treats to their freshly ground coffee to their smoothies. Its such a wonderful atmosphere where you could both have a professional meeting or just catch up with old friends. It has saved me from exhaustion too many times to count. Thank you so much!

Such an awesome spot. I’m in town from Charleston and decided to check this plane out. It was a fantastic decision. They have many specialty brews that you don’t find at too many places. I got an aeropress and croissant that I enjoyed while I talked with Justin. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly in explaining the process they go through for different brews. I got an iced coffee to go and I see why they call it “Famous Iced Coffee” because it is fantastic.I wish we had a place this awesome in Charleston!

Its a decent cup of coffee and quiet shop environment. Lots of muffin and macaroons.My favorite is the pork bahn mi sandwich. I stop in for a latte and sandwich every couple weeks.Only downside is that the service is a little slow but staff is friendly.

Great atmosphere with plenty of seating. Baristas friendly and knowledgeable. But while they claim small batches of coffee make for better taste, our regular Sat morning group is always stuck waiting for a cup. Many have resorted to walking over to 7-11 which has quicker service.

I have been here 3 times now, first two times were great experiences. Love the atmosphere and the coffee is great, I also enjoy the food here. My only hesitation this last visit was that I brought my family from out of town for a unique experience and was a little disappointed that we all got served to-go cups instead of the cute cafe cups we are usually served with (everyone else in the cafe was also served with to-go cups). Im not sure if it was that it was a Saturday or if they dont serve it that way anymore. I just think it took away from the experience and seemed a little expensive because of that... Also it would be nice to have a regular coffee that can be refilled for a more standard price. My husband just likes black coffee but its not really worth paying almost $4 for one and no refills. I would like for him to enjoy coming here as much as I do. I hope a manager will be able to respond with some clarification.

This is a combo wine bar and coffee house with baked goods. Very upscale, very clean with a varied menu and tons of seating. Also a piano for wine get togethers. Nice, classy and clean.

A must go coffee shop tucked away near Birkdale. Huge thanks to Margaret for letting us use their outdoor space for pictures and being a great hostess as well. Very roomy place with lots of unique seating areas, piano private room to get work done. Had a great latte and red eye and have been 3 times this weekend. Backs up to a fountain and great place to walk and relax. (ALSO it is a Pokemon Go Stop!) Just go.

Had work meeting here today and it was great. Plenty of space so we didnt have to fight for a table and coffee is served in real mugs, not paper! Great brew. Glad we found a new meeting place.

So, the vanilla latte with oatmilk is like velvet in your mouth! And the chocolate bean that they give u is just the icing on the cake and it goes so well with my drink! Waterbean is my favorite coffee shop in the Lake Norman area. It is large and open with plenty of spacious tables and lots of places to plug in your electronics. The coffee is great of course and its nice to support local business.

Really liked this place, we went in very late and were treated well cool place to sit down and have a coffee.

Walked in from my hotel room across the street and was blown away by the decor. The layout was amazing. Certainly one of the most attractive coffee houses Ive been in and Ive seen a lot of them. The baristas were great and very friendly. Finally the coffee... just wanted two large dark roasts to go and I thought they were good not great which is what I expected based on the room. Large cup was ok but wouldnt mind paying more for more volume. Will definitely go back if in the area again.

I’ve been to this shop several times. About 10 times approximately. I particularly enjoy the pour overs. I get pour overs ever time. Sometimes regular size sometimes the 16oz. Today was no different. However, much to my surprise when the barista handed me my to go cup today it felt a bit on the light side. When I opened the cup, I see that she’s handed me half a cup of coffee. I asked her AND the other barista on shift why this was and they both stated that that’s what a pour over is. I explained that the many other times I’ve ordered this drink it’s never a half a cup of coffee. The response “I don’t know what happened those other times, but that’s what a pour over is.” (To be fair, they weren’t rude, just clueless) Uuummmm, no, this it’s what a pour over is. I dropped the issue cause frankly, they were clueless, no point in continuing a conversation that was going nowhere. But where it SHOULD have gone was the baristas doing anything within their power to figure out what went wrong. And also, my pour over tasted watered down 🤯 A watered down, half a cup of coffee....So now I’m wondering, am I going to have to go back to Starbucks for my pour over wants? I prefer Waterbean. But mostly I prefer CONSISTENCY. I hope whoever manages this place sees this review. The two baristas that were on shift today would probably work better with more experienced baristas, because together they are a clueless situation.I’ll go back to Waterbean. Hopefully I won’t encounter this situation again.

Great coffee shop with very friendly staff, lots of private little corners to work or meet with friends/co-workers, free Wi-Fi, cozy atmosphere with your choice of couches, comfy chairs, tables/chairs, or a large private meeting space available. They even have live music on the weekend evenings.
