Nice. Had salmon over spinach and split pea soup. Soup was good and salmon fresh n tender not trashy. However, a bit bland. It needed some seasoning (oldbay) something. Waitress was also very nice and attentive
Peter and mike are great, very attentive, making sure everything is to my liking. Happy he dishes are delicious and extremely generous. This is more then my 1st time here and I definitely plan on continuing to come back.
Delicious meal.Calm, quiet ambiance.Superb, knowledgeable & friendly waitresses; Dawn is Perfect !
Class. Its the place has it all. They will take care of you! I know Im in good hands! Be polite with the staff, and they with take care of you.
My husband and I love to share a short stack of pancakes along with our choice of breakfast. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar omelet and my husband ordered sunnyside up eggs and bacon. The coffee was delicious and hot. The pancakes were to die for. The owner told us they make them from scratch. They were honestly the best pancakes I have ever eaten and Ive eaten plenty. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this diner to anyone. Easy parking out front and along the side. Check it out for yourself.
I feel like this place is going downhill. Not what it used to be. I feel like no offense, the owners have low self esteem at keeping the legacy alive. Teddy shouldve given it to his brother because he owed his fair share. How do you go on? Plus the ramp needs to go.
Food is always amazing! Even at 10pm the food is fresh and great. Great staff as well
Always gracious, always friendly, food is always excellent diner faire. Ive taken visitors from out of state and family here and it is a good experience every time. Were lucky to have them.
We came in and decided to give it a try. The first thing ordered was a patty melt. The waitress never heard of it and stated “I’m not a cook I’m a waitress”. Patty melts are a CLASSIC. Whether she knew or not, she could have been more pleasant and asked the “chef” or lack there of. We explained that it was a thin burger on rye with melted cheese and sautéed onions. The other item we ordered was a simple Greek salad Wrap with chicken. It came with fries so I asked for the popular style of feta cheese and oregano on the fries. (Deep breath). All we heard from the kitchen area for the next few minutes was “patty melt?...patty melt?? Patty melt” (they didn’t know how to make it) Once the food came, the patty melt was non existent...it was a burger With onions and cheese that wasn’t melted. On top of that, for some reason, the edge of the bread had tiny confetti-like pieces of foil on it. As soon as I picked up my chicken wrap (wrapped in foil) the entire filling fell out. My fries were soft and a little undercooked with no oregano. I had to ask for a side of oregano to sprinkle on myself. The yogurt sauce was NOT yogurt sauce. We notified the manager about the foil and showed him. He went to the kitchen, left the burger at the table and never came back for it. So that meal was uneaten. I tried my best to enjoy my wrap. I took all of the chicken out and ate most of it without the wrap and filling. It needed seasoning.I really wanted to like this place. I don’t enjoy giving bad reviews, however, I’m just being honest. The customer service was non-existent to say the least and our food wasn’t appetizing at all. Whoever the cook was, they’re inexperienced. I understand things happen, but this seems like the norm there. I hope they get better cooks and an actual chef to guide them. The manager/owner seems like a nice man who’s having a hard time with this place. I hope things change in a positive way. One thing that should always remain is good customer service and honesty. If they didn’t know how to make the patty melt, they should have said so and offered what they could make. They should have handled that entire situation much better. We left hungry and went somewhere else 😕
Ordered delivery at around 10pm on a Sunday. We live about 10min away and it was about 50 minutes for delivery. Well worth the wait! The food tasted fabulous. The over-easy eggs were cooked to perfection, the grilled cheese sandwich was buttery and crispy, the chicken salad sandwich was really good and the waffles were delicious! It was well packaged and they gave us enough cutlery. Dawn took our order on the phone and she was super sweet. We have eaten here previously and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended and we will be eating here again.
The Golden Globe Diner is consistently fabulous with great food, great service and great atmosphere.I recommend it HIGHLY. Five Stars!(Five is the highest)
Bacon Egg and Cheese On roll was simple and tasted nice
My husband and I stumbled upon this place while we were looking for a breakfast spot in the new area. The portions are VERY generous and the people are super sweet! My daughter spilled syrup on the table and instead of making us feel uncomfortable about the situation; they helped out and constantly asked how we were doing. They also apologized, and explained how they were doing some renovations due to the Pandemic and some issues they had prior.Overall I’m glad we found this little gem, we look forward to coming back!
The restaurant constantly keeps their uber orders up when theyre closed which screws over both customer and driver. I will change this review once they start turning it off accordingly.
Awesome place to eat and enjoy family and friends
Covid-conscious, courteous and friendly service. Good classic diner fare, well prepared. Worth many visits while visiting or residing in Huntington.
The worst. They told me that my order will be ready once I get there. Guess what I got there in less than 5 minutes, guess what, the store was closed. That is not how you treat your customers. Especially at night time.
Excellent food and service.👍👍👍👍
The staff is extremely friendly. The portions are humongous! The food quality is much better than it had been, under previous owners. I highly recommend this place. Its been a staple in our community for decades... The current owners really deserve a fair shot and are doing a great job
Very clean, great food, friendly staff.
Tried this place for first time. Wife and I both had stuffed peppers that were delicious. Also had best matzo ball soup I ever had. Excellent service to top it all off.
The food and service was excellent.
I went there yesterday with my husband. The food was very good. I had a spinach and mushroom omelette, which was delicious. Service was good, and the place is very clean.
Had eaten there twice in the last two weeks. Food was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you havent tried it out in awhile.
I have been going her for years - this is the old golden dolphin - it’s still awesome - we go as a family all the time - great place
Not my personal favorite diner in town, but it’s a diner and it’s good. If you like a trendier experience visit Hatch. If you just want a fresh cup of coffee and a relaxing experience, the dolphin gets the job done.
Oh man I travel all of long island Im a mobile service tech. And I stopped first time the other day to have breakfast. And it was the best so far Ive had in long island from most of the dinners around so great. Debbie the waitress is the best shes like having your mom serve you she treats you like family. Prices are awesome l.Steve from Carr Xerox
DELICIOUS! Golden Globe has the best Diner food Ive ever eaten! I Highly Recommended it!!!Andrea Pompeo, Astoria, Huntington NY
Standard diner fare. Had a ceasar salad with grilled salmon and perfectly crispy fries. Really pleasant service from the waitress we had, which was nice.
This place was awful... what happened to this diner. We should have know something was up when we went in and no one was there. I ordered matzo ball soup. The chef didnt know how make it. They were testing the matzoh ball on me.. it wasnt good.. then the good came 30 mins later.. mind you.. no one was there but us. We sent back two dinners... gross.. we just finally ordered eggs.. dont go.. it was terrible... waitress was very nice.. best part of this mess..
The new owner is amazing and the cooks are ten times better than the old ones. its just a shame that theres barely anyone in there anymore! The food is great for a diner. I just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and so far this is the only place that serves actually good scrambled eggs that my stomach can tolerate. My little brother is a pretty picky eater and loves the hamburgers here, too! All in all, the new management was well-needed and the food is great for anyone whos looking for a quick diner meal.
Food is fantastic and the staff is so friendly. Management/ownership is SO hospitable!! :)
Food is so very good. New chef is fantastic and renovation is just beautiful!! Classy, comfortable and friendly!! Every meal here feels like weve been to a wonderful dinner party!! Love you Teddy and Pete and all the staff!! And now that Ive tasted...THE best Cappuccino!!!!
Avoid this place if your smart. New owners dont give a rats azz about their reputation and the food reflects this. Terrible food, over priced, filthy. I walked out and will never return.
First time at this dinner. Had avacado blt with side of fries. Plenty of bacon and fries were fresh hot and perfect. Coffee a bit pricey but no problem with refills. Owner and waitress very friendly.Going back for breakfast today.
Food was great! Even better, Dawn is back!Turkey dinner was fresh, soup delicious and chick pea salad full of flavor!!!
Horrible service. Came in and the place was quiet. Waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come to the table. Took drink order disappeared for a while came back took our order.food came out wrong.veggie panini came out with raw carrots and peppers nothing else. It was suppose to come with onions beans other vegetables. The California burger came out with cheese when we asked for no cheese it should have Russian dressing we got none it was suppose to be chicken we got a burger. Will not be going back. It was one of my favorite places. But I will pass on this place from now on. Trying to cut corners on food is not the way to make money.
Stopped by a brunch while in town visiting family. Very friendly and courteous, clean and good service. Food was good and served quickly and hot. Wish I lived closer, I would visit every Sunday, had the best rice pudding!
I ordered on seamless and chose the item that said “pancakes with turkey bacon” for $11.95. The restaurant then wrote into seamless saying “customer was trying to be slick by adding turkey bacon when it should’ve been a side” and charged me another $6.47 for four pieces of turkey bacon that were clearly already stated as being included. No I was not “trying to be slick” I just ordered an item from the menu. So rude and ridiculous.
Went in for lunch this Saturday, ordered my usual matzo ball soup and chicken salad sandwich, everything was great, staff was very polite. I dont know why people are giving it a bad rap. Just come in and try it.
Perfect breakfast. Surprisingly non greasy. Good options. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Coffee could be better but the rest was exactly what I expect in a diner breakfast.
Hands down, Cole slaw, rice pudding & chicken salad are THE BEST Ive had! Plus dessert is included with the dinner price! Great staff, quick friendly service and convenient (theres parking!)...supermarket, pharmacy, church all within walking distance...great locale in the heart of the village!
Good Food been going for years, good service and atmosphere, however pricex a bit high for a Diner,I have informed old&new owners that are joint owners now I believe.Ive been going there for over 20 years since they opened and all their transitions, including there beautiful expansion, even with recent unfounded controversies, owners have been consistent &kind. They were publicly attacked and owner was exonerated. It was unfair, people did not have facts and hurt their business.I would encourage all to return. They have my loyalty, theyre decent people and Charitable.Always helped Charities,I have been involved with over the years. I hope restaurant rebounds under new management who originally owned.Judge not lest ye be Judged ! Support local Businesses! This diner deserves the loyalty theyve given. I have gone there often when my parents were alive. They loved it as well. Its a family owned business and they treat You,like family ! It is a respite place for me.I meet and eat with friends as well. You can tell I love them. If youve left come back ! Theyre the same good food place!
This used to be a great place to visit before it was renovated... it was always mobbed. Havent visited in a few years and today we stopped by and the place was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon. We got seated right away and glanced thru the menu which was vast and ultra pricey. We continued waiting and were ignored for a good 10- 12 minutes so we walked out. Guess I figured out why the place is empty.
Great good and service.
So glad you guys are back in business. Food is great portion sizes are large and the service is wonderful. Excellent soup sandwiches Burgers salads and breakfast.
New owners have nicely updated this restaurant. We had a group of 11 and had reservations and were seated right away. The service was excellent considering the number of people with different orders. Very generous portions. The only thing is that what they called a panini seemed more like toasted rolls of some sort ( thick bread) than flatter bread. (Not like the meal photo). But I simply removed the top slices of the bread. The filling was delicious and steaming hot.
This is an amazing diner were so fortunate to have right here in Huntington. Not everyone seems to know about it even though it is been in our town for years- its a hidden gem of a place really...The food selection is incredible- whatever you want whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner these folks seem to have it. And the waitresses are so darn friendly and happy. It makes coming here not only a tasty experience but a happy one. When I come here I get the kind of home town friendly service you rarely get from going to one of those impersonal chain restaurants- its a whole different story at the Golden Dolphin. One other thing- there is no way youll walk away hungry from this place -- the portions are very large, the food super fresh and the prices are reasonably for what you get. I would highly recommend Golden Dolphin to anyone who wants great good, friendly people and an enjoyable place to eat. The service is super fast as well. I love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Wow. My wife and I just got takeout from Golden Globe and literally threw the food in the trash. It was that horrible. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger deluxe medium rare. The burger was as black as a hockey puck and as a joke I took it off the bun and it made a clunking sound against the countertop. It was so bad it was overcooked yesterday! The bun was hard (stale) and the bacon soggy and way undercooked. The fries had to be recooked 3-4 times. They were rocks. I tried to power through a second bite of the burger but I couldnt. Id feel terrible feeding it to my dog. I seriously cannot believe they packaged this food to be served to humans. Bring back Golden Dolphin!!
The food has always been incredible, but I have gone back after living out of state for a few years, it looks much nicer and seems much bigger! I love the renovations and they treated me and my friends like kings and queens! The portions are huge now, unless my stomach has just gotten smaller!
Always was one of the best diners around. Under new ownership and its still a great place to eat. Food is delicious and plentiful!
The new ownership is struggling. Was hoping they would revive this landmark diner as they supposidly own another but they dont have the hang of it yet. The staff that hung on keeps me coming back but its still hit or miss on the food, which is why the reviews swing from excellent to poor. I feel like the owners care but are having trouble managing. Shouldnt be our problem... Will still go in a pinch... And stick to items that cant go wrong.
An exorbitant $19.95 for a gyro platter which took way too long to serve and I was only informed at the last minute that they were fresh out of tzatziki sauce. Tzatziki is an essential part of the gyro. Essential. I wont go back.
A great diner with fantastic service. Vicky was our waitress who was really helpful and pleasant. We ate here for Thanksgiving dinner also where the lovely Vanessa did so much to help us have a great experience.
I wrote this two years ago: A cross between a diner and a restaurant... great selection, good food. Especially noteworthy, the very friendly and courteous staff. Since then, three things happened to make me change my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. First, the place was closed by the state for non-payment of taxes. Then, a group of new people, I think three, bought it, and re-opened it. But a while later, one of the owners was arrested on animal cruelty charges. Starved his dog. Terrible. I actually went in to talk to the guy, to see if he had another side to this story. Bottom line, he could not contradict the stuff in the newspaper stories. Now my family and I wont go near the place, and its a shame. We first ate there 40 years ago, used to live a couple of blocks from there. I was hoping there would be a story that the other two owners would disown and get rid of this bad guy, but no such thing happened, or at least if it did, no one knows. Bottom line, stay away. Unless a new story emerges that this miserable animal abuser is gone. And only if some verification is somehow provided.
I stopped by on a Sunday with some friends and had a great breakfast. Food and service were excellent. I noticed it wasnt quite as busy as a diner should be on a Sunday I then found out about the dog situation. A few days later we saw the owner of the restaurant on channel 7 news, and he explained that the dog had lost weight from a tumor and not from being starved. Im giving all those judgemental and critical people a less than one star for trying to ruin a persons business and life with not even knowing the facts. Let he who is with out any guilt cast the 1st stone As for the restaurant 4 1/2 stars out of 5. I had a superb dining experience and I will definitely be coming back.
The owner is being held on animal abuse charges. He starved his yellow lab to near death. Don’t give this man a cent of your hard earned money.
Very nice
I’ve been coming to the Golden Dolphin for at least 15 years and the food was always consistently great. Now that new management has taken over just about everything has changed and not for the better. Service is slow, the wait staff isn’t as friendly but more importantly the quality of the food has taken a turn for the worse. It seems to be that the new management is “budgeting” on all the menu items. Not only are portions smaller but I am pretty sure that they have cut back on ingredients in the dishes. Such a shame because this place used to always guarantee great service and an excellent meal. Not anymore!
Rude service. Food is salty and greasy. Sad. They were a great restaurant 10 years ago, not any more.
Been going here for 25+ years. After two separate renovations, the food is still good and the service solid. Best diner in town.
This place is unbelievable ! Super clean and the food is always fresh ! Staff is super kind and you are surrounded by a comfortable and open atmosphere. I highly recommend trying this place out ! Dont listen to the bad reviews on google ! Try out the golden dolphin and you’ll be happy you did.
This is the third time Ive ordered from them and always a disappointment! Once ordered an avacado burger and it can with no avacado! Then ordered fries with mozzarella and it was burnt. Lastly ordered Macaroni and cheese bites and got a bowl of mac and cheese! I do not reccomend and will not be ordering from here ever again!
Awesome as usual Debbie is awesome food is great prices good. Would definitely come backSteve carr xerox
We dont support animal abuse, we never went here and honestly after this never are. You dont treat animals like that- your reviews arent even that good in general. At the end of the day its not acceptable, and will not be tolerated by the public.
Very good, especially now that Peter is back in the kitchen!
Totally overpriced menu. Waitress is not patient with orders. Hovering over customers who comes in. Price is ridiculously expensive. A plate can cost 29.99. Food is made rather cheaply and not delicious. Rather go to gourmet restaurant
This New Golden Globe Diner is a breathe of fresh air and deserves a Grammy, Great job to the new ownership and GMs Spiro and Yianni went with a group of 15 everything was impeccable, portions are generous, service, hospitality, all were nothing short of a 10, would recommend to Anyone I know!
Delicious salad of mixed greens and calamari. Ask for the dressing on the side or it may be a bit much.
Good food, great service, everyone willing to make you dining experience enjoyable.
This is a great place to bring your family it’s very clean and the food is delicious and the staff are truly amazing
The food was ok... if it wasnt so expensive Id have given it 5 stars. Its a diner... but at family restaurant prices. (Its in Huntington village, what do you expect?)
Horrible place, food was cold and service was slow. Won’t go back especially after reading that the owner abused his dog !!
Went here for brunch. Service was good and friendly. We ordered breakfast food and a turkey club sandwich. Turkey was a bit dry but it was real turkey and not just coldcuts so thats a big plus! Coffee was on the bitter side. Prices are average for the Huntington area. Overall a good experience but I like Mundays better.
Sorry this place taking such a social media hit. My food and service was good. Unfair sometimes. They are trying .
Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and lox. The bagel was a little over toasted. The cream cheese was limited to two small tubs (I like a little more). Admittedly, they provided plenty of excellent lox. Their supply of Heineken and Coors Light was depleted. A bit overpriced.
Great diner that is a staple of Huntington Village, has all classic food youd hope for...A++
I ordered food from uber eats, the food was delivered in a timely fashion but I was missing a wrap from my order. The waitress that answered the phone had just walked into her shift and was kind enough to call uber eats herself and hopefully it would have sorted out faster. Unfortunately Uber Eats did nothing. However the waitress was very apologetic about the situation and offered me free dessert for the inconvenience. Very nice, understanding and thoughtful people. Will definitely dine here again....btw the food was great.
The restaurant looks very nice, but its under new management and seems very disorganized right now. Not enough wait staff, took a long time to get our stuff, no refills offered for water or produced when requested. Took forever to get our to go box and ticket. My matzo ball soup was good but I was unimpressed with everything else.
Was going to eat here but it took way too long to get our orders taken. Looked up reviews and the staff conduct sounded disgusting enough, about animal abuse and cruelty that it felt reasonable to walk out.
I give this place NO STARs but had to check on 1 star in order to give my review..The owner of the Blue Dolphin Diner would not feed his own beautiful sweet trusting lab. He starved her and abused her. DO NOT go to this place DO NOT give him a dime of your money let him starve he deserves to be in jail for what he did to that dog. This place needs to be shut down and he should never be allowed to work or own another place in Huntington or anywhere else.
This dirtbag starved his dog almost to death!!!! He’s facing charges for it.... DO NOT give these people any of your money go somewhere else
Awesome food!
Service food all very good. Nice place for families.
Very good place to eat and very good service and friendly for a years we bin dinning there.
Terrible service, sub-par food, very dirty. The ownder also has been starving his golden retriever, Callie - and the dog does not belong in his care.
Good food excellent service generous portions
This is my go to diner, I go here for breakfast and lunch all the time def great place for a nice bite!
Good food and excellent service
I order a Cobb salad with everything in it okay . One thing I asked to changed was for my bacon to be turkey bacon . I get home and see they charged $25 to my card to have a salad with no avocado nor turkey bacon. Also the wait time is crazy so I will not be going back‼️
Not only is the food the worst I’ve ever had and I mean really bad!!!.....just found out the owner abuses his dog. Beautiful sweet yellow lab who didn’t ask to have a pos owner like him, he was starving her until she was skin and bones. That poor baby no animal should be treated like that ever. Not sure who this guy thinks he is but he has a lot of haters right now! Hope his place shuts down and he has to starve until he is skin and bones! Disgusting excuse of a human. I would never recommend eating there unless you support animal abuse and like horrible disgusting food.
Wasnt to happy with this place. Food was boring
Food is outstanding fresh and plenty of it the staff very attentive and very friendly my favorite place to eat from now on well worth the trip
Great food! Fast service! No reservations needed!
Not what it used to be. The food is pretty good.
The old owners were great we use to go all the time .My children would buy us gift certificates because they new we loved the place. The new owners just lost us as a loyal customer. We had $15 left on one of our gift certificate and they refused to accept it very bad customer service..
Under change of management ...overpriced and chiotic
The owner is an animal abuser. He starved his own dog to skin and bones. Dont contribute your money to this place.
