I come all the way here for the variety. They usually have the fresh specialty fruits and veggies I love. Well stocked. Cashiers need to stop trying to avoid customers.

SFW used to have the best prices but now competes with Giant and Safeway. The donuts are still colossal, BUT, they now skimp on icing them. They have more donut varieties, but skimp on toppings. Otherwise, theyre still worth 4 stars. Ample parking always.

Mega Mart is the best Latino Supermarket. The prices are very good fresh products, very clean and you call they pick you up and drop you off. What else do you want. The employee are very friendly.

Great fresh food! Lots of tropical fruits and vegetables! Fresh fish and excellent meat with in-store butchers and fish mongers. Lots of latino foods and amazing dairy products. Great latino music makes it a fun place to shop! BTW, opens at 7:30 am, not 7.

My experience is and was great. Always have great products that I like a lot. Always have great things from food to non-food products. I also like the area where you can check-out yourself. You can scan your items your self and then you pay and bag your items, and then youll be on your way

Hey Ill drop a review thats actually a review. I used to live in NYC where finding fresh herbs and produce was easy. When I moved to the Hyattsville area that became very difficult. In fact near impossible. Finding things like fresh basil, fresh rosemary, or fresh thyme was like finding a needle in a haystack. And the Shoppers that used to be here didnt help with that....Enter Megamart international. This place not only has what Shoppers used to have but way...way....WAAAY better produce and meat selection. I walked into the produce section and saw bags of FRESH basil. And let me tell you as a home cook who likes Italian food...literal tears of joy were running down my face knowing that they have it now. And we as a community can ALL benefit from. Please do your shopping here. Support it so it doesnt close.

Store is closing this month. The new store is megamart a large Latino grocery chain. Seems nice, just starting to add seafood. Some items moderate price. Small but good produce selection.

I was pleasantly surprised. This store had everything. I mean everything! The only drawback was the bad smell by the chicken section. And the prices where nice on my pockets. I will be returning soon.

This Place Has Photos Of Memories Of Shoppers Food Warehouse, They Use To Be The Cheapest Grocery Store In The DC Area, Before Save A Lot, Aldi & Lidi Came To Our Area Since This Shoppers Closed Everyone Has To Go To College Park, New Carrollton Or Lanham To Find More Shoppers Locations.But This Store Looks Great Even Though They Have The Shoppers Interior In The Building.

It smells too much going on cell phone stand, send money to other countries, clothes not my style for grocery store.

Good fresh seafood options and produce, but really a lack of any gluten free options youd normally find in even a smaller store now. Im also not a fan of the layout of the store, but that is just preference. Price wise they were in line with what you expect. If they would increase their gluten free selection, even if it is just a few small shelves I would add a star to the review.

Shoppers was always OK. But unfortunately this location will be closing 6/24/19. The staff was always friendly. The manager Patrick was always a cool guy.

This is one the most depressing stores to shop in. It has a scarce feel to it, nothing like what used to be some years ago. The customer service is good though, which is why I dont mind so much going to the location.

Shoppers is always my place to go for groceries and everyday house stuff, but this one is the closest to my home, but honestly the one in College park is alot bigger and has more variety. But shoppers price is great.

This location is having a closing sale. Im not sure when is the last day. However, this is the only dmv location closing as of date.

Good selection and nice staff but I recently bought three items that were managers special markdown-a whole chicken and two gallons of milk-all spoiled within two days refrigerated. Be careful with this place.

I been shopping many times in this store but today I have a bad experience, I was paying in the fastlane and the same time I was in the phone,my husband call me at that time.I didnt put attention that my daughter 2 years old dropped three fruit chew on the floor and a employee shouted to my daughter and me to clean the floor for three little gums and them she said I will call immigration. I talk to the manager Dave . The security guy hugged me and he apologized god bless him .I hope they talk to this lady.

This Shoppers Food Warehouse Store is located on 2441 Chillum Road in the neighborhood of Avondale, MD; a small unincorporated community people get confused with as being part of Chillum. Chillum, MD is a completely separate neighborhood which you have to go farther west on Chillum Road and cross the Northwest Branch Anacostia River to get to, though Avondale is part of Chillums CDP for statistical purposes only. Because Avondale is an uncinorporated town, it uses the Hyattsville zipcode of 20782, even though it is a completely separate neighborhood from Hyattsville, MD. Avondale does; however, directly border Hyattsville to the southwest, across the Northwest Branch Anacostia Stream. The Washington Metropolitan Area Green Line train tracks pass by this grocery store when traveling between the Fort Totten and West Hyattsville Metro Stations. This particular Shoppers Food Warehouse Store is located in the Chillum Road Shopping Center of Avondale, MD, which is hidden directly behind the Queens Chillum Shopping Center, which also is located in Avondale, MD. That is the shopping center where the former well-known historic Giant Food Store that Queen Elizabeth is rumored to have visited in the late 1950s, which closed in April, 2013, and also where CVS Pharmacy (formerly Peoples Drug), Checkers, Game Stop, Payless Shoe Source, and Radio Shack are located. Fleischers Jewelers used to be located in that shopping center but closed the same time the Giant Food Store closed. The selection of groceries at this store is ok, but I miss the Giant Food Store that used to be in front of this grocery store. Giant had a much better selection of grocery items and organic foods than this Shoppers, even though the items were much pricier there. That Giant is also historic which makes it much more interesting than shopping at this particular store. The Shoppers Food Warehouse store is rumored to have only opened in Avondale, MD after the former A&P Supermarket chain went bankrupt in the D.C. area during the mid to late 1980s. My parents used to do lots of shopping for groceries at this particular Shoppers Food Warehouse Store between 1994 and 1998, in addition to the one located on University Boulevard in Adelphi, MD, when living in a small house on Gumwood Drive in Hyattsville, MD and also with a roomate in the Seville Condominiums located on Toledo Terrace in Hyattsville, MD, until moving to College Park, MD. Next to this Shoppers Food Warehouse store, there is a small Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen: Chicken & Biscuits Fast Food Restaurant, Subway Sandwich Fast Food Restaurant, Beauty Mart, H&R Block, Coin Laundromat, and a huge Uhaul truck rental facility. There is also a Queens Car Wash shop across from this Shoppers as well. This Shoppers is also right next to the Kings Park Plaza, Queens Park Plaza, and Avondale Overlook apartment complexes which are located on Queens Chapel Road in Avondale, MD.

The cashiers and staff are nice enough. I like the bakery products, although could be stocked better and cleaned up. Like other customers, Im concerned about the seafood department. My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of returning bad salmon that I paid over 17 dollars for. I dont have much experience buying fish and was naive and trusted the fish was fresh and did not initially check. Upon closer inspection when I got home, the fish was darker and rough on top and slimy on the inside. It smelled strange too. Im glad I had the sense to ask my husband if it was fresh before I put in the oven. He was not happy. We just moved to the area, never thought I had to check the produce to make sure it was fresh. Im glad we are fine and well.Update on my review: Dont judge a book by its cover, in this case the grocery store. Having now shopped here for years, Ive come to notice this is an underrated grocery store. No rif-raf, just honest hardworking people and their families quietly shopping. The produce looks better. Fruits and vegetables are still a bit pricey, but the dairy, dry and canned foods are very affordable compared to safeway.

Seafood department was open but couldnt be served

The salad bar was not looking good. When there is a problem with veggies all over the presentation of their veggies had me running out the store.

They pull the prepared food by 5 which is too early. I like the boxed salads but they are frequently just not there. Fruit bowls are often going bad. Small store, not good selection.

Usually a decent shopping experience. But they didnt have an adequate selection of meat out today.
