A very positive experience. With older cars maintenance is key, the team at Farnsworth dealt effectively and efficiently with my vehiclesm including one of those unique repairs. Ill be going back and look forward to being a repeat customer. Thanks for great experience.
Wonderful experience! Great customer service, trustworthy, and a very friendly staff! The tech working on my car was genuinely interested in my brand of car as well as very knowledgeable in the specifics of it and explained completely what he found and the solution. The work was also done in a very timely manner. Would recommend to everyone!
David and his team are honest, good people. They always get us in on time and do a great job. About a week ago when I went to leave work, my van wouldnt start.. I just a jump and went straight over to Farnsworth. They squeezed me right in and figured out that I had a bad battery. They checked everything else just to make sure there were no other problems, and got me back on the road. I appreciate their willingness to make sure my vehicle would keep me on the road.
I have taken my car to them for all the repairs. They are great with meeting schedules when planned in advance. I trust they do an honest job and look forward to going back for the next repair. They even went above and beyond to schedule an alignment with a local business they have a working connection with when they didnt provide the service themselves. I believe in supporting local when I can as it supports the local economy. Highly recommend them.
Excellent service; start to finish. They did exactly what I needed done without being pushy or making me feel bamboozled. That goes a very long way with me. I did look up the part I needed online prior to taking it in for replacement as I was considering doing the work myself. Farnsworth was right on the money. I appreciate being provided good and timely service at a reasonable price. They said theyd have it done in one day and thats exactly how it worked out. Suffice to say that I will be taking my vehicle to Farnsworth for any future repair needs. Also, they have very friendly and personable staff. Just a nice all around auto repair experience.
Great people and great work. They stand by what they sell. If there is any problem they bend over backwards to make it right. I found their prices to be right in line with everywhere else so if having good honest people work on your vehicle is important to you this is the place to go. Casey and David will treat you like family! I wont go anywhere else.
Been taking my car (and my old van) here for 2 to 3 years. Always the best service. Honest, kind people. Repairs are suggested only when necessary and they do great work.
They were very quick, and kind. They didnt push me to do anything. I also appreciated that they texted me a written graph of the needed repairs. Ive never had any other place do that before
Very professional, and a group of Christian men.Even though they were booked up a week and a half out in advance, they worked me in and stated they try to take care of the people who are traveling and just passing through their city.I trust these men and they do good work. I will use them again the next time Im passing through Idaho Falls.Gentlemen, you make your state look good.
My company had taken some of their fleet in here so thought Id give it a try. They were fair and forthright. It didnt seem like the us against you culture/vibe I get with most auto shops. They were the only ones that could fit me in on a busy Friday too. Ill be back. Thanks guys
Amazing friendly service and fair prices. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
The guys at Farnsworth Auto Repair are AWESOME!I needed some work done that was under a warranty. They got the parts quickly and got the repairs done in a very timely manner. They made sure everything was in proper working condition. Will definitely do business with them again.
I called and said that my car was overheating and if they could check it out. The man on the phone was very condescending to me when I told him I have never taken my vehicle to a shop before and that I know absolutely nothing about cars. I didnt mind, I wasnt about to judge a whole shop by someones tone so I took it in. They told me it was the water pump which they charged me $400 to replace, and I also had them replace my wheel bearing which they charged me $300 for. As soon as I left the shop I realized my power steering wasnt working so I drove home with no power steering. A bunch of lights kept turning on so I pulled over and called them to tell them what had happened. I checked under the hood and the entire serpentine belt had fallen off and got wrapped around the wheels that turn it. How does this happen? They came and fixed it for free and I figured that was just a little mistake so I didnt think much of it. A couple days later I was taking the highway from Rigby to Idaho Falls and my car started overheating again, I got off the highway and pulled over and had to get a ride from someone kind enough to not let me walk all the way to work. I called them and asked if they could come pick it up and check it out because I didnt do anything abnormal to my car, I had always taken the highway. They told me that the clasp on the radiator hose had fallen off just out of nowhere, which wouldnt have happened if they had checked the entire cooling system (like they should have when I told them my car overheated) and bled the air out so that something like that doesnt happen. They charged me $120 for that single clasp and justified it by saying that they didnt work anywhere near the radiator hose. If someone says they are having overheating problems, why wouldnt you check the ENTIRE cooling system? I would suggest if youre looking for an auto shop you go somewhere where the people working on your car actually know what they are doing and dont charge you a fortune for it. I guess this is what I get for choosing the first auto shop I saw.
First time using this shop was today. Funny thing, when I called them, the phone was answered right away by a courteous person that gave me up front pricing and scheduled me for the next day. The pricing was fair and the repair was done in a timely manner. Will definitely recommend and will take my vehicles there in the future.
Recently I took both of my cars to Farnsworth and Gordon Automotive. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. As with all car repairs there were extra things discovered that needed fixed. David was upfront and honest about the additional repairs and the cost involved. He made it a point to make sure that I understood what needed to be completed for my car to function properly vs repairs that were not as urgent. I appreciated his candor and his willingness to work with me on a time frame that fit both my budget and my schedule.
We have a 2016 Ford Explorer that was close to the end of its factory bumper-to-bumper warranty so I had them take a close look at the vehicle front to back. They gave me a comprehensive list of what they found and prioritized that list when they discussed it with me. When I took it to the Ford dealership they didnt question any of it. I credit that to the fact that I went prepared thanks to the guys at Farnsworth Auto. Ford did over $3000 in warranty repairs, most of which were barely noticeable but we caught them with the trained eyes of David and his crew. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone.
Friendly service. No surprises when car was picked up.
To be totally transparent, I own an automotive shop in a town close to Idaho Falls. I was an automotive technician in Idaho Falls for over 13 years. Having said that I know a lot of the current business owners in the area. The reason I am giving Farnsworth a five star review, is because there arent too many people with the type of work ethic and honesty as David. He deserves a pat on the back.
Farnsworth and Gordon Automotive went above and beyond in completing need repairs on my suburban. I got my windshield replaced, a part repaired to stop my check engine light from coming on, and my battery replaced. Not only is the one stop shop so convenient, they offered me transportation to and from their shop. David also gave me a check list of maintenance suggestions to do over the next 3 months to avoid major repairs. Thanks Farnsworth and Gordon for taking such good care of my vehicle!
I did not have a good experience at Farnsworth and Gordon. That being said; I do not condone anyone giving a bad rating to a business if they have not had any dealings with said business. It is a personal experience to be had by each individual and each person has their own right to choose where and with whom they take their vehicles. Please use your own judgement with all things and if there are those who have made reviews without first having used this business, please remove or re-post your negative reviews.
We are extremely satisfied with the service we received on our vehicle. They not only repaired our major problem, but found several fuses that had been blown because of it. They are hands down, above the rest!!
We have been taking our vehicles to them for years- they are always honest with the work that needs to be done, and fair in their prices. I highly recommend these guys!
I know them to always call you to get approval before they fix what is wrong. Always discuss what is happening with your car and will even show you on your vehicle the thing that has failed. Wont do anything on your car unless you want them to. Honest guys and will do their best to fix your problem and point out anything that is unsafe or going to cause you problems in the future. You guys are great.
This shop has had my dads truck for over 9 months they still have not fixed it. All the work has been paid for and they are now trying to charge him a storage fee even though his truck still cant be driven. They have him blocked from Facebook because they dont want a bad review. I was bullied into taking down a review I made on Facebook before they would even give me my keys back. I was quite close with the owners sister so I took my car to this shop on a good recommendation from her. The way they treat their customers is appalling. Theyre extremely rude. They wouldnt give me a breakdown of the hours spent on my car. My car also sat at this shop for 3 months before it was fixed. They are outrageously unethical. They overcharged greatly. The total cost was not even remotely close to what I was quoted. In my opinion they should not be in business. I wish that I could say I had a great experience with this shop, but I did not. Take your car to A&B Transmission. They will take care of you.
Great guys! Awesome service!
After being ripped off at other shops, I finally found a mechanic shop that I trust. These guys are friendly, informative, quick, and wont push into doing unneeded repairs. Will not go anywhere else now.
I have had them work on our company vehicles often over the last several years and have always felt that they are honest and thorough. I highly recommend them!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Im the regional manager for blue rain roofing and restoration we have a fleet of trucks and this is where I will have my vehicles fixed from now on!
Ive had each of my vehicles in on different occasions, and have complete trust in them. I know they are looking out for my best interests when I am in their shop.
Honest and good customer service.
These guys were great to me - Super honest and straight forward, wont go anywhere else, they under promised and over delivered which is how business should be done.
Fansworth Auto Repair has always treated my family and I very well. We appreciate their honesty and quality work!
Great staff, and always honest. They do great work.
My engine developed an oil leak because it needed a new valve cover gasket, so I called, got a quote, and brought it in. This was a mistake:-They did install the new gasket perfectly (as was needed), but there was a separate oil leak (which was no fault of theirs)-They INCORRECTLY diagnosed the new problem as a cracked valve cover (valve cover is actually perfect)-Even though an OEM valve cover is available all over the internet shipped for $350 (or even from a dealership for $400) they wanted $900 for said part. I felt that this was unacceptable markup.-They had agreed to work with me on the price of the 2nd round of labor (since they hadnt diagnosed the problem completely before beginning work), but changed their mind when I said the $900 for a $350 part is unacceptable and that I would provide the part. They have a MUCH higher rate if you bring them the part.-I decided that they were not going to have my business and I took it to Oswalds-At the second shop they explained that the VALVE COVER WAS PERFECT (farnsworths was about to charge me $1100+ altogether for NOTHING), and that the real problem was a leak at the oil filter-The 2nd shop quickly fixed it, and the car has been leak free and without problems since. Indeed, there was no valve cover crack, the leak was actually at the oil filter housing. So basically, If a little old lady without car experience had brought them the same vehicle, they would have screwed her over for a grand because they misdiagnose problems.Very disappointed.
David and Tyler are two of the kindest and most honest mechanics in the auto repair business here in Idaho Falls. We do our best to get all our cars and trucks repaired and checked out by farnsworth and gordon. I brought a ram 1500 i was 10 minutes away from buying over to David farnsworth to look at and after a few minutes he found some rather serious problems that I would have ate. Thanks!
Very honest people
Great place
